After Lalu Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya snapped ties from her family and announced departure from politics, Lalu Yadav’s other four daughters, Rajlakshmi, Ragini, Hema and Chanda have also left the family. The four of them travelled to Delhi along with their children hinting a wider rift within the family that is out in open as Bihar rejected RJD.

Ritlal Yadav, also spelt Ritlal Ray or Rit Lal Roy, has been incarcerated in Bhagalpur Jail since April 2025. Yadav is accused of demanding Rs 50 lakh and threatening a builder named Kumar Gaurav.

On 3rd November 2025, Lalu Yadav held a roadshow in the Danapur constituency for his party MLA candidate, Ritlal Yadav, who is currently lodged in Bhagalpur jail. Starting from Digha and ending in Khagaul, the roadshow covered 15 kilometres. Lalu Yadav was accompanied by his daughter Misa Bharti and Ritlal Yadav’s daughter.

During a panel discussion program on India Today, Marya Shakil said that in the Bihar of 1990s, “Lalu Prasad Yadav was a political necessity. When he carried out the movement of ‘Bhura Baal Saaf Karo’ and the entire movement against the upper castes, that was the need of the hour.”

Songs with obscene visuals and cheap lyrics have been a part of poll campaigns in Bihar. However, RJD supporters are making songs with crowd brandishing guns, rifles and lathis, glorifying violence, implying dominance, caste-based intimidation, specifically a “Yadav Raj”, abduction of those who dare to oppose them.

The way the fact came to light that he has been in a relationship with Anushka Yadav for 12 years, it also brought into discussion the treatment of Tej Pratap's wife Aishwarya Rai by Lalu family.

While Tejashwi acknowledged his brother's right to make personal decisions relating to his personal life, he said that such behaviour cannot be tolerated in political life.

As per reports, the arrested accused are family members of Rashtriya Janata Dal President Lalu Yadav.
