Social Media erupts with memes and taunts after Karnataka votes against Congress

Karnataka has delivered its verdict and BJP has emerged as the single largest party with 104 seats. The state was one of the very last that the grand old party ruled and the loss is going to have a big impact. Though the state has delivered a fractured mandate, for Congress to be scrambling for alliances to retain power in itself shows how it lost grip over the last large state it governed.

While the results were pouring in, Twitter users had a field day with memes, jokes and sarcastic tweets.

Reminding Congress that Punjab is now the only major state they rule:

CM Siddaramaiah will not be pleased to have irritating neighbours knocking on his doors.

IT cell head Divya Spandana had reportedly done a lot of hard work for this election. From instructing workers to create multiple accounts to hiring bots for social media ‘resurgence’, she has done it all. Sadly Twitter brawny points did not get her votes on the ground.

Congress had repeatedly mocked and attacked UP CM Yogi Adityanath over the course of the campaign. Twitter users were quick to remind.

As expected, many Congress leaders and supporters started blaming EVMs early. Congress leader Brijesh Kalappa started it in Karnataka on the very day of the elections.

Twitter just loves Rahul Gandhi, not only is he the star pracharak for BJP as its supporters claim, he also provides massive raw material for memes.

While BJP has not managed to secure a majority by winning 104 seats, the Karnataka mandate is widely being discussed as an anti-Congress one. BJP and Congress+JD(S) are both in the race to prove majority and stake claim to form the government. While the Karnataka political hot pot brews, social media provides the much needed comic relief.
