Akhilesh Yadav’s bizarre rant: ‘Modi wants youth to sell pakodas because the oil imported from abroad helps industrialists’

Most of the statements by Akhilesh Yadav are so outlandish that a fact-check would be considered an insult to the readers' intelligence.

Speaking at Banda, Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav launched a bizarre tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an election rally. While talking about the supposed lack of employment opportunities for the youth, Akhilesh Yadav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants the youth of the country to fry and sell pakoda because the oil that is used to fry the pakodas in is imported from abroad and increased import would help Modi’s ‘industrialist friends’.

First, he lied and said that during an interview, when PM Modi was asked about how the youth should get employment, the Prime Minister had asked the youth to go and sell pakodas since there was no other option left for the youth. In reality, when asked about employment generation, the Prime Minister spoke about Mudra and how people were availing of these loans sans guarantee to start their own enterprises as well. The Prime Minister had never said what Akhilesh Yadav claims and this statement by PM Modi has been consistently twisted by the Media and politicians.

Then came the bizarre comment by Akhilesh Yadav. First, he asked the people whether they want to study and then eventually become pakodawalas or chowkidars. Then, he started strangely talking to the media and said that after a lot of consideration, he has understood why BJP and the PM have mentioned ‘pakodawalas’.

He said that PM Modi asked the youth to fry and sell pakodas because the oil which is used to fry pakodas comes from ‘Videsh’ (abroad). The more that the oil is imported, the greater benefits would accrue to “PM Modi’s industrialist friends” and hence, according to Yadav, Modi wants the youth of the country to sell pakodas.

He then asked the crowd that if one sells pakodas, would the pakodas be better if they are cooked in refined oil or mustard oil. The purpose of this question is still unclear, of course, because cooking oil is adequately made in India as well.

He used this to say that BJP wants the pakodawalas to fry the pakodas in refined oil and not mustard oil and thus, eventually, wants farmers to not grow mustard seeds in their fields.

Branding this a grand conspiracy, and said that this is the reason that BJP says that there are no jobs and the youth must solely fry pakodas.

Most of the statements by Akhilesh Yadav are so outlandish that a fact-check would be considered an insult to the readers’ intelligence. Akhilesh Yadav has a penchant for making outlandish statements. Most recently, Akhilesh Yadav had defended Azam Khan’s wildly sexist remarks against BJP candidate Jaya Prada.
