According to reports, the CRPF patrol team was attacked by terrorists on the busy KP road in Anantnag using automatic rifles. After that, grenades were also hurled at the CRPF team. AUM is a frontal organisation of Jaish-e-Mohammad, and it was founded by Mustaq Zargar who was released by the Indian government after the IC814 hijack. This attack has happened months after 40 CRPF soldiers were killed in a suicide attack on a CRPF convoy at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.
