Any misadventure from Pakistan will be answered with a punitive response: General Bipin Rawat

"Pakistan Army time and again resorts to misadventure, either through flawed proxy wars and state-sponsored terror or intrusions. The Indian Army stands resolute to defend our territory", said the COAS.

Speaking at a seminar in the national capital to mark ’20 Years after Kargil Conflict’, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat sent out a warning to Pakistan Army and said that any misadventure from the side of Pakistan would be answered with a punitive response.

“Pakistan Army time and again resorts to misadventure, either through flawed proxy wars and state-sponsored terror or intrusions. The Indian Army stands resolute to defend our territory. Let there be no doubt that any misadventure will be repelled with a punitive response”, he said.

Gen Rawat warned that any future conflicts would prove to be more ‘violent and unpredictable’. He said that our soldiers would remain the primary assets of the Army. “Future conflicts will be more violent and unpredictable where the importance of human factor shall remain undiminished. Our soldiers are and will remain our primary assets”, said the Army Chief.

Addressing the reports of Chinese intrusion on the Line of Actual Control(LAC) last week after some Tibetans hoisted the Tibetan flag on the occasion of Dalai Lama’s birthday on July 6th, General Rawat clarified said that had been no Chinese intrusion.

“Chinese come and patrol to their perceived Line of Actual Control. We try and prevent them. But at times there are celebrations that take place at the local levels. Celebrations were going on our side by our Tibetans in the Demchok sector. Based on that, some Chinese personnel also came to see what was happening. But there have been no intrusions. Everything is normal,” he assured.

He said that the new norm of fighting is the use of militancy and other irregular methods.

While AAP has claimed credit for Punjab’s rise in the education sector, the timeline suggests the state’s improvement may have begun before the party came to power in 2022. The AAP government was sworn in in March 2022. But some key surveys or studies have cited the data prior to 2022.
