‘He who carried Kanwar is now reading Namaz’: Hindu father writes to UP CM alleging Maulvi’s daughter Nagma Khan forcefully converted his son to Islam

Mukesh told OpIndia during the interview that a Maulvi from Delhi is also involved in the conversion attempts against his son. This Maulvi claimed to cure Gaurav's 'illness'.

In Uttar Pradesh’ Noida, a Muslim woman named Nagma Khan alias Roshni has been accused of converting a Hindu youth Gaurav Kumar to Islam. Gaurav Kumar’s father has appealed to UP CM Yogi Adityanath to help him get his son back. In an interview with OpIndia, Gaurav Kumar’s father Mukesh Kumar said that the accused woman filed a counter-complaint against him and has allegedly been harassing him. Mukesh Kumar accused Nagma Khan of snatching away his only son, who he asserted, would have been his support system in his old age.

The victim’s family originally hails from Java police station precinct in Aligarh and is currently residing in Noida’s Sector 44. Gaurav’s father Mukesh Kumar works at an educational institution. Mukesh Kumar told OpIndia that his son Gaurav is a boxing coach and used to be a very religious person. He said that Gaurav used to be a devotee of Lord Shiva and would carry Kanwar to Haridwar during the holy month of Saawan.

From being a devotee of Mahadev to offering Namaz: How Nagma Khan allegedly drifted Gaurav away from Hindu Dharma to Islam

Mukesh said that his 22-year-old son began teaching boxing to children in Noida parks for self-defence to help with family expenses. Gaurav had been a talented boxer who won numerous competitions. Many parents began sending their children to his self-defence classes. One of them was Nagma Khan whose seven-year-old son used to accompany her to Gaurav’s boxing classes.

Mukesh Kumar claimed that Nagma is at least 15 years older than his son and lives separately from her husband with her two children. Nagma was the mother of four children, two of whom died for unknown reasons and her second child is a year old. After informing about accused Nagma Khan’s marital status, Mukesh Kumar said that after a few days, Gaurav and Nagma met in the park and began talking to each other.

Nagma is alleged to have gradually ensnared Gaurav in her clutches. Gaurav’s religious beliefs began to shift. He also started distancing himself from his family. Mukesh further stated that Gaurav started to stay away from his home for days on the pretext of participating in boxing competitions.

“My son is not the only victim, Nagma Khan has trapped many Hindu youths”

Gaurav Kumar’s father claimed that his son used to stay with accused Nagma Khan while lying to the family that he had gone to take part in boxing competitions. Gradually, Gaurav’s attitude and dressing style started changing. Mukesh Kumar said that Gaurav started offering namaz in his house and wearing Islamic attire. It was only when Mukesh confronted Gaurav over his changed attitude and religious beliefs that he learned about Nagma Khan. Mukesh Kumar told OpIndia that his son is not the only Hindu boy trapped by accused Nagma Khan alias Roshni adding that she had lured several other Hindu youths into converting to Islam. Kumar went on to say that when confronted Nagma Khan to bring his son back, the accused woman started threatening him.

Meanwhile, Mukesh Kumar in August this year submitted a complaint to CM Yogi Adityanath alleging that Nagma Khan is tormenting and pressuring his son to perform Nikah. In his complaint, Mukesh Kumar alleged that Nagma Khan threatened to get his family killed saying that her brother Azad Khan is a dreaded goon. He also stressed that there is a threat to his son Gaurav’s life from Nagma. Kumar further demanded the administration intervene in the matter.

Following the complaint to the CM’s office, the police called both parties in the matter wherein Gaurav Kumar said that he wished to stay with Nagma Khan. The police then advised both the parties to avoid any further dispute. Since then, Gaurav Kumar was staying with Nagma Khan. Mukesh Kumar informed that Nagma alias Roshni does not let him talk to his son over the phone saying that she would block whichever number he used to contact his son.

Mukesh Kumar told OpIndia that Nagma Khan brainwashes Gaurav against Hinduism saying that it is a dogmatic religion and glorifies Islam calling it a religion of “Jannat”. An overwhelmed Mukesh started crying as he said that his son was being trapped in vicious love jihad and conversion conspiracy. He said that if can talk to his son or meet him he can persuade him to return, however, Nagma does not let him meet or talk to Gaurav.

When asked about Gaurav’s decision to stay with Nagma in front of the police, Mukesh claimed that he said so due to Nagma Khan’s threats and pressure.

A Maulvi from Delhi involved in a conversion conspiracy

Mukesh told OpIndia during the interview that a Maulvi from Delhi is also involved in the conversion attempts against his son. This Maulvi claimed to cure Gaurav’s ‘illness’. Nagma told Mukesh that her father is also a prominent Maulvi. She claimed, “My father is capable of turning a human being into a goat.” Mukesh also alleged that Nagma has not divorced her first husband yet. He also accused Nagma’s mother of marrying a Hindu man and then brainwashing him into converting to Islam.

In several pictures of Gaurav shared with OpIndia by his father, Gaurav is seen in some old images sporting Kalava (sacred thread) and Tilak on his forehead. However, in the pictures clicked after Gaurav came in contact with Nagma Khan, he is seen donning a Muslim skull cap and reading Islamic texts. In one of the pictures, Nagma is also seen with him.

Nagma files complaint against Mukesh Kumar

Mukesh told OpIndia that Nagma has not only snatched his son but has also filed a police complaint against his family. Gaurav was also called at the police station on 16th September this year, after Nagma filed a complaint against him. When Mukesh went to the police, he was again directed to avoid raising the matter.

Nagma claimed Mukesh took away her husband Gaurav and kept him with himself. Mukesh, on the other hand, clarified that he had no information about his son. Mukesh is now concerned about the safety and whereabouts of his only son and regards Nagma’s complaint as a part of a bigger conspiracy. He stated that he had not seen his son in 7 months. Mukesh Kumar has requested that the state government bring his son back.
