AAP MLA calls Nawazuddin Siddiqui ‘Indian Johhny Deep’ after the actor responds to wife’s allegations

Aam Aadmi Party MLA Naresh Balyan took to Twitter on Monday, February 6, to call Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddique- ‘Indian Johhny Deep.’ Even though the AAP MLA spelled both the first and last names of the Hollywood megastar wrong, everyone knew he was referring to the great Johnny Depp.

The AAP MLA went on to draw the equivalence between Nawaz and Hollywood actor Johnny Depp soon after the Bollywood actor broke his silence on the several allegations made recently by his estranged wife Aaliya Siddiqui, originally Anjana Kishor Pandey, on Instagram.

The AAP leader probably called the Bollywood actor the desi version of Johnny Depp as Johnny and his ex-wife Amber Heard were also involved in a heated legal battle, until, last year in June, a jury ruled in favour of Depp.

On Monday, March 6, actor Nawazuddin Siddique shared a screenshot of his Instagram post on Twitter with the caption, “This is not an allegation but expressing my emotions.” No sooner did he do that, AAP leader Naresh Balyan responded saying, “Stay strong indian johhny Deep 🙂 God bless you.”

In the Instagram post, Nawaz addressed the several accusations made against him by Aaliya Siddiqui, who alleged that the actor kicked her and her two children out of the house at midnight. She made the allegations in a video that she shared on Instagram on 3rd March, Friday. The video of the estranged wife of the Bollywood actor went viral on social media. The latest allegations come after Aaliya had alleged that she was facing sexual harassment from Nawazuddin and torture from his family.

Nawaz said that people have termed him as a bad guy because of his silence. He claimed that social media and the press are enjoying his character assassination on the basis of one-sided and manipulated videos. He then elaborated on his ordeal and gave his side of the story.

The actor stated that his kids have been missing their school for the last 40 days and he has been receiving letters from their school. His children, who are doing their schooling in Dubai, are supposed to stay away from Mumbai and this drama but apparently, his ex-wife has not been sending the kids to school in Dubai.

Nawaz further stated that leaving aside the cost of the children’s schooling, medical care, travel, and other expenses, he gave Aaliya on an average, approx 10 lakhs per month for the past 2 years and 5-7 lakhs per month before moving to Dubai with his children. The Gangs of Wasseypur actor also alleged that he gave her a luxurious car for the children but she sold it and spent the money on herself.

“I have also bought a lavish sea-facing apartment in Versova, Mumbai for my children. Aaliya was made the co-owner of the said apartment as my kids are small. I have given my children a rented apartment in Dubai, where she was also living comfortably. She only wants more money and hence has filed numerous cases on me and my mother & it’s her routine, she has done the same in the past too and withdraws the case when paid as per her demand,” the actor alleged in his post.

He ended his post by expressing his love for his two children. “Whenever my children came to India during their vacation, they used to stay with their grandmother only. How could anyone throw them out of the house. I myself was not in the house during that time. Why didn’t she make a video of being thrown out, whereas she makes videos of every random thing”, Nawazuddin wrote.

Wife of actor Nawazuddin Siddique alleged the actor kicked her out of the house with two kids at the midnight

Notably, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s response came after his wife shared on Instagram on 3rd March, Friday, that Nawazuddin has thrown her and her children out of the house at midnight, and she can’t believe that he did this to them. She said that Nawazuddin told them that they can’t return the house.

Nevertheless, in between Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s family drama, the AAP MLA felt so deeply for the actor that he went on to declare him the ‘Indian Johhny Deep’.

Raghuram Rajan warns of ‘Hindu rate of growth’. Merits aside, he should call it ‘Nehru rate of growth’, read why

Raghuram Rajan the former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India has predicted that Indian economy is heading toward the ‘Hindu Rate of Growth’. In an interview with the news agency PTI, Rajan expressed concern that the latest estimate of national income released by National Statistical Office (NSO) was worrying. As per reports, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the third quarter (October-December) of the current fiscal has slowed to 4.4% from 6.3% in the second quarter (July-September). The same was 13.2% in the first quarter (April-June).

Earlier, he had predicted that it will take many years for India to recover from the Covid-induced economic slowdown, but India managed to bring its economy back on track in a matter of a year. He never apologized. Rajan has been infamously predicting an economic crisis for India for almost 5 years in a row and every time he is proved wrong.

He has used the expression ‘Hindu Rate of Growth’ to refer to the slowdown in economic growth. Raghuram Rajan was Governor of RBI from 2013 to 2016. The period is marred with stagnant forex reserves and a whole lot of other controversies. After he was removed from his position, the Forex Reserves of RBI jumped to touch an all-time high of 600 Billion+.

What is ‘Hindu rate of growth’

India has a glorious civilizational history of 6000+ years and during this long period, India proudly sat at the epitome of the global economy. This fact is brilliantly illustrated in the book The Case for India by Will Durant, an American Historian. Until the seventeenth century, India’s GDP was one-third of the world GDP. Even the 800 years of loot by Islamic Invaders couldn’t exhaust the resources of this great land. Only after the British came the real drain of wealth started, and India started facing consecutive famines year after year.

The term Hindu Rate of Growth was coined by a so-called economist Raj Krishna in 1978 to refer to the 3.5 percent GDP growth rate from 1950 to the 1980s. This is an intrinsically flawed notion because the Hindu were the principal contributors to the economy during this period and afterward as well. While India has people of all faiths, the economic planners then kept the onus of growth on Hindus and hence the term ‘Hindu rate of growth’ that despite everything they claimed to be trying, the growth was more or less stagnant and that too at around 3.5%. Hindus, the believing and conservative ones, had no direct say in policy formation and hence, it would be kind of unfair to name it such.

Why Nehru Rate of Growth is more apt

Nehru was the first PM of India, he remained incumbent till 1964. Most of the economic policies were decided/approved by Nehru. Therefore the expression ‘Nehru Rate of Growth’ looks more apt for the economic growth during his regime and the years that followed.

Nehru was obsessed with socialism, so much so that the Indian State ran hotels too. Industrious individuals like Birla and Tata were not given the liberty to expand their businesses. This myopic vision of Nehru should be attributed to the slow rate of growth and consequently, the expression ‘Nehru rate of growth’ is more suited and correct.

Nehruvian economic policies were so flawed that the country was almost always on the edge of a food crisis. Not only this, his myopic vision lead him to call river Dams as ‘Temples of Modern India’. Nehruvian policies were then carried forward by his daughter Indira Gandhi who proceeded to nationalise sectors such as banking, textiles, coal, steel, copper.

In that sense, a more appropriate term for this rate of growth would be ‘Nehru rate of growth’ instead of ‘Hindu rate of growth’.

BJP calls out Rahul Gandhi for seeking foreign intervention in Indian affairs, calls it betrayal of Bharat

0

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shehzad Poonawalla on Monday came down heavily on Rahul Gandhi alleging that the Congress leader has sought the intervention of foreign countries in India’s affairs and dubbed his act as a “betrayal of Bharat” in the 75th year of the country’s Independence.

Poonawalla said that Gandhi has crossed all limits in his hatred for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. The BJP leader’s remarks came after Rahul Gandhi in the UK said, “Why Europe and the US – the defenders of democracies were oblivious of how a huge chunk of democracy in India has come undone?”

Slamming Gandhi for his statement, Poonawalla said, “Rahul Gandhi was a serial offender and this time he has crossed all limits while allowing his hatred for one person and party to grow into hatred for India.”

He labelled the Congress leader as a “constant cynic and purveyor of propaganda”, and asked if Gandhi’s remarks were not an assault on India’s sovereignty and an insult to its citizens.

“If there are issues, we solve our own matters internally but how can Rahul seek the intervention of a foreign nation? What action is he seeking on India? Do we complain about our internal affairs to a neighbour? Today Rahul has emulated Mani Shankar Aiyyar who sought Pakistan’s help to dislodge PM Modi from power once,” he said.

“This was an act of Betrayal of Bharat and that too in the 75th Year of Independence when India celebrates Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav you have an Indian MP go to Britain and seek the intervention of a former colonial master! Ironically he said that a person of Indian origin was leading Britain but here Rahul Gandhi wants foreign intervention!” Poonawalla added.

Earlier today, BJP MP Vivek Thakur slammed Rahul Gandhi over his address at Cambridge and accused him of being an “agenda carrier” of another country.

Thakur added that he is “seriously considering” bringing a Privilege Motion (against Rahul Gandhi) in the upcoming budget session of Parliament.

“Rahul Gandhi deliberately spoke anti-India language in a foreign land again and again, so, I am seriously considering bringing a Privilege Motion (against Rahul Gandhi) in the upcoming budget session of Parliament,” Thakur said while speaking to ANI.

Thakur added that Rahul Gandhi is instigating and painting the wrong picture of India.

He further said, “it’s very clear that he is an agenda carrier of some other country…I am seriously considering bringing a Privilege Motion (against Rahul Gandhi) in the upcoming session as it has been happening again and again.”

“Rahul Gandhi is tarnishing the image of India and for this he is going to other countries of the world,” he added.

‘Some people want the judiciary to play opposition’s role’: Kiren Rijiju slams ‘Tukde Tukde gang’

On Saturday (March 4), Kiren Rijiju lashed out at vested interests that are exposing the Indian Judiciary to public scrutiny by forcing them to take up cases, which fall under the domain of the Executive. He made the remarks at Central Govt Law Officers Conference in Bhubaneswar city of Odisha.

“Some people want to play some kind of role and want to force the Judiciary to play the role of Opposition parties. Indian Judiciary will never accept this situation…Indian Judiciary will itself resist this forceful attempt to make Indian Judiciary play the role of the Opposition party,” the Union Law Minister said

“The independence of judiciary cannot be questioned by anybody. And we need to take this as a governing principle in our country. We are very firm (on this),” he further emphasised.

Kiren Rijiju further stated that India is the mother of all democracies and that the government has never questioned the decision of the Judiciary. He, however, conceded that there have been differences of opinion over the appointment of judges, a provision provided within the Indian constitution.

While hitting out at vested interests, the Union Law Minister tweeted, “These gangs get active support from Anti-India foreign entities to launch a frontal attack against India.”

He further added, “Systematically they will assault the credibility of the Indian democracy, Indian Govt, Judiciary & all Critical Organs like Defence, Election Commission, Investigating Agencies.”

“The members of Tukde-Tukde Gang should better understand that India has embarked upon a journey of great rejuvenation under the leadership of Narendra Modi. We the people of INDIA will give them a befitting reply,” Kiren Rijiju further tweeted.

During his address, he lamented how the Indian Judiciary is routinely criticised on social media, often using abusive language. “It is not a good sign when Judiciary comes under any sort of attack.”

“If the people that I had referred to earlier force the Judiciary to take certain matters that are administrative in nature (or fall under Executive work), then, they are exposing the Judiciary to public scrutiny,” the Union Law Minister added.

New system to appoint judges is needed: Kiren Rijiju

In December last year, Kiren Rijiju Kiren informed Rajya Sabha that the nation needed a new system to appoint judges. The law minister also commented on long vacations of the courts, saying that it hampered the delivery of swift justice.

Kiren Rijiju said, “There is a feeling among people of India that the long vacation which the courts obtain is not very convenient for justice-seekers and it is my obligation and duty to convey the message or sense of this House to the judiciary.”

Meerut: Hindu youths attacked by Shahzad and his associates for seeking donations for Holika Dahan, stones pelted in Brahmpuri

On the evening of Sunday (March 5), clashes between Hindus and Muslims erupted in the Purwa Ilahi Baksh area that falls under the jurisdiction of Brahmpuri police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district, over the ritual of Holi Dahan, ahead of Holi that is to be celebrated on March 8. According to media reports, stones were pelted and glass bottles were hurled between two groups.

On what triggered the violence, several news agencies reported that Muslim youths mocked two Hindu men seeking donations for the ceremony by comparing it to begging. The Muslims also allegedly kicked the ritualistic wooden pyre that is set up and lit on Holika Dahan, symbolising the burning of Holika.

After this stone pelting started from both sides. According to reports, two people from the Hindu community, who were injured in the violence blamed several Muslim men from the area for attacking them and threatening to ruin their Holi celebrations.

The Meerut police, however, today (March 6) took to Twitter to refute the religious angle in the violence. It claimed that the members of the two groups beat up each other under the influence of alcohol. Contrary to news reports, the post said that neither any person was grievously injured nor the Holika pyre was damaged in any way.

In what had transpired, some Hindu locals namely Amit Gupta, Sonu Prajapati, and Mullu Chanda were collecting donations for the Holika Dahan celebrations which is being held in the Harinagar neighbourhood of the Brahmapuri police station area every year for the last 50 years. According to reports, local councillor Shahzad Mewati, his brother Bhura, and sons (Intezaar and Seefu) arrived at the scene and began insulting the Hindu youths who were seeking contributions.

According to locals, Shahzad and those with him allegedly directed the Hindu youths who were soliciting contributions, to take money from them also and convert to Islam by accepting donations. The Hindu youths got offended and a verbal spat broke out between the two groups.

The minute the objection was voiced by the Hindu youths, Shahzad and his allies attacked them, as per reports. The Hindu side has also complained that Shahzad and his allies also kicked the Holika pyre set-up. This triggered the violence and in no time other members of both communities came face to face and started pelting stones and glass bottles at each other.

Visuals from the scene shared on Twitter showed damaged vehicles, broken window panes and panic-gripped locals screaming.

After the purported incident took place yesterday, the Meerut Police said that they had detained three persons.

A heavy police deployment has been made as tension prevailed in the area under the Brahmapuri police station limit and the situation was under control now

SP Sajwan said they are scanning CCTV footage to identify the culprits and added that no arrest has been made so far in connection with the case.

Vijay Kumar was named Usman by Atiq Ahmed, killed in an encounter: UP Police to include his religious conversion under the ambit of investigation

After the encounter of Usman, who fired the first shot in the murder case of Umesh Pal, the angle of religious conversion has now come to light. In this regard, Law and Order ADG Prashant Kumar has taken notice and an investigation is launched to ascertain how shooter Vijay Kumar became Usman Chowdhury.

According to the information that has emerged so far, Atiq Ahmed’s son had named Vijay as Usman, based on his loyalty. Usman was a very shrewd criminal. When he joined the Ahmed gang in IAA 227, he was rechristened as Usman. Allegedly, it was Atik Ahmed himself who had Usman undergo a religious conversion when Chaudhary was given the name Usman. The police are now investigating this case.

Law and Order ADG Prashant Kumar said that we are aware of the case of becoming Usman due to the victory of a shooter. Why would an ordinary person keep the name Usman?

Meanwhile, Usman’s wife claimed that her husband was innocent and was not involved in the murder of Umesh Pal.

Usman Chowdury encounter

On March 5, Uttar Pradesh police gunned down one of the accused in the Umesh Pal murder case. Identified as Usman Chowdhary alias Vijay Kumar, the accused was a member of the Atiq Ahmed gang and was the first to fire a shot at Pal. The encounter took place in the Kaundhiyara area of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

As per reports, Usman sustained bullet injuries during the encounter. He was shifted to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Reportedly, UP Police had announced a bounty of Rs 2.5 lakh for each accused in the murder case. Usman and other accused had allegedly killed Umesh Pal on February 24 in broad daylight. Pal was the prime witness in the 2005 BSL MLA Raju Pal murder case in which Atiq Ahmed and his brother ex-MLA Ashraf were prime accused. The incident took place at his residence.

Editor-in-chief of popular Punjabi paper ‘Ajit’ writes to Punjab Governor, mentions threats by police and discrimination by Punjab govt to ‘teach him a lesson’

On March 4, Editor-in-Chief of Ajit Group of Publications, Barinder Singh, wrote to the Governor of Punjab Banwari Lal Purohit alleging vendetta by the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. Barinder Singh said that the Punjab government has stopped all ads to the publication “to teach a lesson to Ajit Group”. He also alleged that the police officials threatened to implicate him in false and fabricated cases.

In his letter to the governor, Singh said that Ajit Group of Publications is a prestigious media group that has long served society. Ajit, which is the largest circulated Punjabi daily, is popular among Punjabis worldwide. Dr Sadhu Singh Hamdard, the founder of Ajit Group of Publications, was awarded Padma Shri in 1984, and Singh was awarded Padma Shri in 1990, followed by Padma Bhushan in 2016.

Expressing his pain, he said, “But with great pain, I am sorry to say that the present Punjab Government is somehow annoyed with ‘Ajit’ on its policy matters and some other reasons best known to them.”

Mentioning that all ads stopped to Ajit Group since November 28, 2022, Singh said, “To teach ‘lesson’ to Ajit Group, the present Government has stopped all its Government advertisements from November 28, 2022. They have also ordered all the Government Departments from top to bottom level that not even a small tender notice should get published in Ajit Group. Above all, it is more humiliating for a person like me to get threats from Police Officials to implicate me in false and fabricated cases.”

Furthermore, government officials allegedly restricted the entry of Ajit’s Staff Reporter, Special Reporter, Cameraman, and Videographer during the budget session in the State Assembly. He added, “It was my duty to write to you about all these episodes concerning our Group. You are a Principled Hon’ble Governor, also having a long and vast experience in the field of politics.”

Political leaders react to the letter

Opposition leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Akali Dal, and Congress reacted to the letter written by Ajit’s editor-in-chief.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Subhash Sharma said, “Dr Bajinder Hamdard, the pillar of Punjab’s fearless journalism, in his letter has put before the country the truth of the dictatorial government running in Punjab. I request Bhagwant Mann Ji not to follow Indira Gandhi’s policy of censoring the press. Withdraw the undeclared emergency.”

BJP’s national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill said, “Punjab’s leading newspaper Ajit being threatened by Police (per letter written by Editor-in-Chief to Governor) and Ajit reporters not allowed inside Assembly! Reason: Ajit reports AAP Govt failures! Corruption and Arm Twisting Media seems to have become favourite sport of AAP Govt!”

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “Petty politics and remote control of Arvind Kejriwal has created a pathetic situation in Punjab. Highly respected media personality S. Barjinder Hamdard Ji had to write to Governor, Punjab abt biased behaviour of AAP Govt towards Ajit. Deplorable act of AAP Punjab.”

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal said, “Anguished to learn that CM Bhagwant Mann has stooped so low that he has now started issuing threats to Ajit Editor S. Barjinder Singh Ji Hamdard to implicate him in false cases. All because he refused to publish false & fabricated news items pushed by the CM’s PR team!”

SAD MP Harsimrar Kaur Badal said, “Freedom of press being muzzled in Punjab like in days of Emergency. Leading Pbi paper Ajit Editor forced to approach Governor due to threats from police. Ajit reporters not allowed into Vidhan Sabha. This is fate of all who dare to question this corrupt AAP govt and its failed CM.”

SAD General Secretary Bikram Singh Majithia said, “Freedom of press being muzzled in Pb like in days of Emergency. Leading Pbi paper Ajit Editor forced to approach Gov due to threats from police. Ajit reporters not allowed into VS. This is fate of all who dare to question this corrupt govt& it’s failed CM Bhagwant Mann.”

Congress leader Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said, “The attack on freedom of press during the AAP Punjab regime is totally unheard of. Recent restrictions against govt advertisements to Ajit because the institution doesn’t follow Punjab Government diktats.”

Bhagwant Mann government is yet to react to the letter by the esteemed journalist.

Earlier, PEMRA issued a statement, “It has been observed that Imran Khan [Chairman PTI] in his speeches/statements is continuously alleging state institutions by levelling baseless allegations and spreading hate speech through his provocative statements against state institutions and officers which is prejudicial to the maintenance of law and order and is likely to disturb public peace and tranquillity.”

The authority further said that after analysing the content of Imran’s speech, it has been observed that the content was aired live by the licensees without an effective time delay mechanism which is a violation provision of Pemra laws and in disobedience of judgements passed by the courts.

“The competent authority i.e., Chairman PEMRA in view of the above-mentioned background and reasons, in the exercise of delegated powers of the Authority vested in Section 27(a) of the PEMRA Ordinance 2002 as amended by PEMRA (Amendment) Act 2007, hereby prohibits the broadcast of live speech of Imran Khan on all satellite TV channels with immediate effect,” the authority added, according to ARY News.

Viral video shows a Muslim kid reciting 10 qualities of ‘gunahgar auratein’. Here is what the Quran says about women in general

A video of a Muslim boy, listing 10 vices of ‘gunagar aurat (bad women), has been doing the rounds of the internet. The disturbing video was originally uploaded on March 1, 2023, by one ‘Muhammad Yaqoob (@yaqoob_63)’ on TikTok, which is currently banned in India.

In the footage, a man in a skull cap was seen asking a child to point out the qualities of bad women. The kid, who is clearly tutored and indoctrinated with misogyny responded, “Women who do not observe purdah, and speak irresponsibly…”

He further added, “Women who make dua to die, mock Islam, gossip…Also includes women who are ungrateful, disobedient to their husbands, indulge in backbiting, keep their hair uncovered and step out of homes without reason.”

The uploader, Muhammad Yaqoob, boasts of 499.6K followers on Tik Tok and 11.5 million likes. His handle is filled with Islamic content, featuring the same kid, and forcing him to speak about various facets of Islam.

The teachings of the Holy Book about women

According to the Quran, the testimony of a woman is valued at half the testimony of a man. The Verse 286 of Surah 2 (Al-Baqarah) states:

O believers! When you contract a loan for a fixed period of time, commit it to writing. Let the scribe maintain justice between the parties. The scribe should not refuse to write as Allah has taught them to write. They will write what the debtor dictates, bearing Allah in mind and not defrauding the debt. If the debtor is incompetent, weak, or unable to dictate, let their guardian dictate for them with justice. Call upon two of your men to witness. If two men cannot be found, then one man and two women of your choice will witness—so if one of the women forgets the other may remind her.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) explained the rationale behind such a conclusion in hadith, Sahih al-Bukhari 2658:

The Prophet said, “Isn’t the witness of a woman equal to half of that of a man?” The women said, “Yes.” He said, “This is because of the deficiency of a woman’s mind.”

The Holy book also makes it mandatory for Muslim women to submit to the sexual desires of their husbands, whenever the latter demands it. The Verse 223 of Surah 2 (Al-Baqarah) states:

Your wives are like farmland for you, so approach them ˹consensually˺ as you please. And send forth something good for yourselves. Be mindful of Allah, and know that you will meet Him. And give good news to the believers.

The Messenger of Allah made the Quranic revelation clear in the hadith, Sunan Ibn Majah 1853:

No woman can fulfill her duty towards Allah until she fulfills her duty towards her husband. If he asks her (for intimacy) even if she is on her camel saddle, she should not refuse.

Quran also directs men to discipline their wives if they go astray. At the same time, it tells them to treat women fairly if they fall in line. The Verse 34 of Chapter 4 (An-Nisa) states:

Men are the caretakers of women, as men have been provisioned by Allah over women and tasked with supporting them financially. And righteous women are devoutly obedient and, when alone, protective of what Allah has entrusted them with. And if you sense ill-conduct from your women, advise them ˹first˺, ˹if they persist,˺ do not share their beds, ˹but if they still persist,˺ then discipline them ˹gently˺. But if they change their ways, do not be unjust to them. Surely Allah is Most High, All-Great.
