Bilkis Bano of Shaheen Bagh now continues to lie regarding citizenship laws on the international platform after Times Magazine acknowledged her

After Times Magazine granted legitimacy to Bilkis Bano, the ‘Dadi of Shaheen Bagh’, another international news organisation provided its platform to the face of the unlawful Shaheen Bagh protests to lie about the Modi government’s Citizenship Amendment Act. Bilkis Bano was featured in its list of top 100 influential people of 2020 in Times Magazine, for her role in continuing the demonstrations at Shaheen Bagh. These protests were recently termed by the Supreme Court of India as unacceptable.

DW News, a global English-language news and information channel from German public international broadcaster Deutsche Welle, used the octagenarian Bilkis as a prop to discredit the Modi government and the Citizenship Amendment Act. It recently uploaded a eulogising video about Bilkis Bano, lavishing praises on her for standing up to PM Modi opposing the CAA.

In the video, Bilkis Bano can be seen repeating the same lies that were cited as a premise for the violent protests that convulsed the country following the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act by the parliament last year. Bano claimed that the Modi government’s Citizenship Amendment Act favoured the Hindus while discriminating against the Muslim population of the country.

Lies peddled by anti-CAA proponents to throw the country into chaos

One of the most pernicious lies spread about the Citizenship Amendment Act by the anti-CAA proponents is that it seeks to disenfranchise the Muslims in India. The Citizenship Amendment Bill has nothing to do with Indian citizens, Muslim or otherwise, as it seeks to grant citizenship to persecuted religious minorities in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. People belonging to Hindu, Jain, Buddhist, Sikhs, Parsi or Christian communities from these three countries who have come to India before 2014 for religious persecution and already living in India will be able to apply for citizenship. No Indian citizen will be asked to produce any document to prove citizenship after the CAB is passed, it is just false propaganda being spread by some people.

Further, it only fast-tracks their citizenship process. People from other religion from these countries, including Muslims, as well as other people from other countries seeking Indian citizenship will continue to get one under the due procedure.

The lie that the Citizenship Amendment Act would strip Indian Muslims of their citizenship has been perpetuated by individuals harbouring unmitigated hatred for PM Modi and the BJP government. It has been used as a rallying cry by the detractors to disingenuously incite fear among the Muslims against the Modi government and engineer a nationwide movement against it. Large-scale protests were witnessed in the aftermath of the enactment of the CAA, where the demonstrations carried out under the guise of peaceful protests, saw widespread acts of arson, stone-pelting and vandalism.

The violent protests against the CAA culminated into one of the deadliest riots that the country’s national has witnessed in recent times. Scores of Muslim mobs, armed with weapons, ran riot in different parts of the northeast Delhi in February this year. The riots were a part of a pre-planned conspiracy and the role of former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain in hatching a conspiracy to stoke riots had come to fore in the investigations that ensued following the riots.

Shaheen Bagh protests

The anti-CAA detractors had launched a multi-prong attack against the government, to pressurise them into repealing the Act. Besides riots and violent protests, one of the busiest thoroughfares of Delhi was captured and squatted on by the protesters, causing grave inconvenience to the passersby and the daily commuters. The Shaheen Bagh protests soon turned into an independent enclave where journalists who did not subscribe to the lies fashioned out by the protesters and who sought to expose the hollowness of their cause were heckled and treated with great hostility.

The anti-CAA protests, especially at Shaheen Bagh, which began as a peaceful protest crossed all the boundaries as it turned out to be another typical left-wing managed anti-India event. Eventually, the Shaheen Bagh protest site had provided fodder and a shield for violent rioters who had, in February, targeted Hindus and gone on a rampage burning the capital, timing the bloodbath with US President Trump’s visit to Delhi.

Following the failure of violent protests perpetrated by the mobs led by Muslim men on the streets of Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia University, few women belonging to Muslim community sat on a protest at Shaheen Bagh, blocked a bus stop and a highway causing severe problems to the public of Delhi.

Shaheen Bagh protests, which were initially passed off as an organic protest in a bid to ‘save the constitution’ began to turn into a blatantly communal event. It was earlier reported that the mobs led by Muslim men had shouted pro-Pakistan and Hinduphobic slogans like “Jinnah Wali Azadi”, demanding another partition of the country.

Crimes against Dalits on the rise in Congress-ruled Rajasthan, steady rise in rape, assault cases since 2018

0

The murder of a 19-year-old Dalit girl in Hathras by strangulation had grabbed the national headlines, with the Congress party leaving no stone unturned in politicising the case. The Congress party had been trying to harp on the anti-upper caste sentiment through Dalit activism and portraying themselves as champions of women’s rights. It is, however, pertinent to remember that that the Congress scions, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, had maintained a stoic silence on several rape cases that have surfaced from the State of Rajasthan, a state ruled by their own party, while constantly attacking the Yogi government in UP.

According to the latest NCRB data [pdf], the crime rate against the Dalits/Scheduled Castes has been increasing in the State of Rajasthan from the past 3 years. NCRB data has revealed that a total of 45,935 cases have been registered for crimes against Dalits in 2019, as compared to 42,793 cases in 2018.

The majority of crimes against Dalits included simple hurt (28.9%), cases under SC/ST act (9%), and rape (7.6%). As such, there has been an overall increase of 7.3% in 2019, coupled with an increase in the crime rate from 21.2 in 2018 to 22.8 in 2019.

Rajasthan reported the highest number of ‘attempt to rape’ cases where victims were Dalits

Although India’s most populous state Uttar Pradesh has registered the highest number of cases (in absolute terms) in 2019, Rajasthan tops the list in the highest crime rate against Dalits at 55.6%. In 2019 alone, 6,794 cases were registered for atrocities against Dalits, up from 4607 in 2018 and 4238 in 2017. This marks a stark increase in the crime rate from 34.7% (2017) and 37.7% (2018).

Rajasthan also reported the highest number of cases for ‘attempt to rape’ against Dalit women and ‘assault on adult women with intent to outrage her modesty in 2019. The State has surpassed Uttar Pradesh, a state with the highest population of Dalits, in this regard.

Reportedly, Rajasthan’s capital city Jaipur also accounts for the highest percentage share of crimes against Dalits at 20%. The percentage share has risen from 13.4% in 2018 and just 6% in 2017. The city had the worst record amongst 19 other metropolitan cities.

Even though the Congress scions have been busy in politicising the Hathras case, it is ironical to see that they have turned a deaf ear to the atrocities on Dalit women in their own backyard in Rajasthan.

Johnson and Johnson pauses COVID-19 vaccine trials after ‘unexplained illness’ in one patient

0

On Monday (US Time), Johnson & Johnson, in a statement, confirmed that it had stopped the clinical trials for the experimental one-shot Covid-19 vaccine as a study volunteer got an ‘unexplained illness’. J&J was in the third phase of the trial. The J&J vaccine candidate JNJ-78436735, developed by Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies, had entered phase 3 trials in September.

The aim was to enrol around 60,000 people in the US and other countries for testing the vaccine. J&J is developing the vaccine in association with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

In the press release, the company said, “We have temporarily paused further dosing in all our COVID-19 vaccine candidate clinical trials, including the Phase 3 ENSEMBLE trial, due to an unexplained illness in a study participant.” It did not release more information on the illness, stating the privacy of the subject.

It further added,” Following our guidelines, the participant’s illness is being reviewed and evaluated by the ENSEMBLE independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) as well as our internal clinical and safety physicians. The illness and side effects are considered to be a part of any clinical trial. There are guidelines that the company has to follow to monitor such incidents.

The company said the guidelines “ensure our studies may be paused if an unexpected serious adverse event that might be related to a vaccine or study drug is reported, so there can be a careful review of all of the medical information before deciding whether to restart the study.” It is a regulatory hold that any drug company has to follow in case of any incident.

J&J Vaccine

The vaccine candidate being developed by Johnson and Johnson is one of the most advanced Covid-19 shots. The closest competitors for J&J are AstraZeneca, Moderna Inc., and Pfizer Inc. As per the company officials, the results of phase 3 trials will be available by the end of 2020 or in the early months of 2021. Based on the results, the vaccine may get a green signal from the authorities in 2021.

The side effects during clinical trials

During any clinical trial, side effects from the drug or the vaccine are common. Sometimes, the side effects do not have any link to the drug or the vaccine. However, if the independent safety experts find a link, the experimental vaccine may be derailed for safety reasons. J&J said they had paused the trial to access the illness occurred in the subject and to find if there is any link between the vaccine and the illness.

The similar case with AstraZeneca’s trials

In September, AstraZeneca, one of the leading drug companies in developing the Covid-19 vaccine, paused its last-stage trials for the coronavirus vaccine. The University of Oxford is developing it, with India’s Serum Institute Pune roped in as the leading manufacturer. The reason stated in the company’s statement was an unexplained illness in a study participant from the UK. As per the reports, the trials in the UK, Brazil, South Africa, and India have resumed while in the US, they are still under review by the regulatory authorities.

Tanishq showroom in Gujarat condemns the controversial ad glorifying ‘love jihad’, apologises to Hindu society

Even as ‘liberals’ rally behind Tanishq for the controversial advertisement, its showroom in Gandhidham of Kutch, Gujarat, has condemned the same and apologised to the Hindu society.

An image has gone viral on social media where a poster put up outside Tanishq showroom in Gandhidham, Kutch says that the new advertisement is shameful and apologised to Hindu community.

The above image has gone viral on social media. “The Tanishq advertisement running in media is shameful and Gandhidham Tanishq apologises to the Hindus of Kutch,” it read.

Another image of the same place has also gone viral on social media.

Our calls to Tanishq showroom in Gandhidham, Kutch, remained unanswered.

Tanishq ad

A massive outrage broke over various social media platforms after people called for the boycott of the jewellery brand Tanishq for their latest advertisement. In its advertisement for ‘Ekatvam’ collection, Tanishq showcased a Hindu woman married into a Muslim family, preparing for her ‘god-bharai’ (baby shower). The ad released on October 9 showed a pregnant Hindu woman walking with her mother-in-law, who distinctly belonged to the Muslim faith. The Muslim mother-in-law then leads the Hindu daughter-in-law to the garden area, where the god-bharai ceremony has been set up according to Hindu traditions.

When the surprised daughter-in-law wonders about the ritual in ‘their family’, the mother in law smiled and said how ‘keeping daughter happy’ is a universal ritual. Unfortunately, in reality, there have been innumerable cases where Hindu women are forced to convert to Islam and marry Muslim men.

Convoy of Punjab BJP Chief Ashwani Sharma attacked by miscreants, party suspects Congress hand

0

On Monday, the convoy of the BJP (Punjab) President Ashwani Sharma was attacked by miscreants near Cholang toll plaza on the National Highway in Tanda area of Hoshiarpur district of Punjab. The incident took place when the BJP leader was enroute to Pathankot from Jalandhar, after attending a party meeting.

The accused attacked his vehicle with stones and sticks and damaged the windowpanes. Reportedly, the miscreants arrived at the spot in two separate cars and attacked the BJP leader’s convoy. Sharma was also manhandled by the accused and had to be rescued by his security personnel. According to Bikram Singh, Station House Officer (Tanda), several ‘farmers’ had been holding demonstrations at the Cholang toll plaza against the historic farm bills, passed by the Union government in the Parliament.

BJP alleges Congress hand in the attack

While condemning the incident, BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia said that the attack was executed by the Congress party for ‘political gains’. Ashwani Sharma informed that the miscreants, who attacked his convoy, did not look like farmers and the Congress party wanted to defame the farmers.

BJP IT cell Head Amit Malviya shared the picture of Sharma’s damaged vehicle and tweeted, “Ashwani Sharma, President BJP Punjab, was attacked and his car smashed when he was on his way to Pathankot. Congress goons have been targeting BJP workers and offices in Punjab in the name of farmer protests. This may well be the beginning of the end of Congress in Punjab too.”

Punjab CM denies ‘Congress involvement’

Raveen Thukral, media advisor to Punjab CM, quoted Captain Amarinder Singh and stated, “Strongly condemn attack on BJP Punjab Chief Ashwani Sharma and have asked Punjab DGP to identify culprits and take immediate action. Won’t let anyone disturb the peace or take the law into their hands.”

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh denied all allegations and has directed the Director-General of Police (DGP) to investigate the case. He claimed, “There is no question of Punjab Congress involvement in the attack… BJP should refrain from making frivolous and politically motivated allegations. This is highly irresponsible as Punjab police are investigating the case.”

TRP scam: Mumbai Police arrests main accused from UP’s Mirzapur

0

The Mumbai Police crime branch on Monday confirmed that they had arrested one Vinay Tripathi from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. Tripathi is a former Hansa Research employee and allegedly played a key role in the ‘TRP Scam’. As per the police, he was the one who paid Vishal Bhandari to manipulate BARC ratings. Bhandari was arrested on 11th October.

As per the reports, the police recorded statements of two senior Hansa officials in the case. A crime branch team had gone to Uttar Pradesh to look for Tripathi. He had worked for Hansa for four years as a relationship manager.

Indian Express quoted an unnamed officer of the crime branch who said when Tripathi came to know Bhandari was arrested, he fled from Mumbai. In its report, the crime branch said Tripathi had asked Bhandari to contact at least five houses to watch a particular news channel for at least two hours daily. Bhandari got Rs.200 per household as commission for watching a particular channel. Bhandari got Rs.5,000 for the task.

The police have seized accounts of Fakt Marathi and Box Cinemas. Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has been roped in to investigate the transactions in these accounts. EOW will look for any possibilities of money laundering from these accounts.

TRP Scam

On 8th October, the Mumbai Police commissioner said in a statement that they had unearthed a TRP scam where news channels paid money to households where BARC-o-Meter was installed. CP Param Bir Singh named Republic TV as one of the three channels involved in the scam, but within hours, the initial FIR in which India Today was named and Republic TV had no mention, got accessed by Media.

What looked like propaganda against Republic TV for taking a tough stand against the Maharashtra government and Mumbai Police, the case has become one of the most-talked-about topics in the last few days. Later, Hansa Research Group’s report was accessed by OpIndia, where Republic TV was not mentioned at any point. The Mumbai Police have also summoned Republic TV officials and questioned them over the alleged scam. However, India Today, which was named by the witnesses and has also been named in the FIR, has not been summoned by the Mumbai Police.

What if religions were reversed in the Tanishq ad? Answer is bomb blast. Read why

Tata Group’s Tanishq jewellery took down an advertisement which showed an interfaith couple where the Muslim family had organised a ‘god-bharai’ (baby shower) function for their Hindu daughter in law. Social media users were outraged at the glorification of ‘love jihad’ theme.

Many self-proclaimed seculars then rushed to wonder if Tanishq would have faced the backlash if the daughter in law as a Muslim.

Well, the thing is, when such attempts were made in the past, mobs of angry Muslims burnt down cities.

Mani Ratnam’s Bombay

In 1995, legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s Bombay starring Arvind Swami and Manisha Koirala was released. Set in the backdrop of 1992 riots which were triggered after the disputed structure known as ‘Babri Masjid’ was demolished in Ayodhya, Swami played the role of a Hindu journalist and Koirala played the role of a Muslim village girl. The two fall in love and against family wishes get married and move to Mumbai (then Bombay).

The duo get married, have twins whom they raise in both religions. Except, that’s when the riots break out. After a lot of emotional moments, the film eventually ends with a ‘human chain’. It was a perfect ‘liberal’-approved ending to a ‘secular’ love story. But, things didn’t pan out as planned.

Mani Ratnam’s Bombay faced backlash from Muslim community

Muslim leaders associate with organisations like Raza Academy, which was later accused of being involved in 2011 Azad Maidan riots, and Muslim League had protested against the release of the film. The situation was so tense that they had to be given a special screening of the film before its official release. Muslim leaders had alleged that the interfaith love story insulted the culture and religion of Muslims. The then general secretary of Raza Academy Ibrahim Tai had said that Muslims believe Hindu-Muslim marriage is ‘illegitimate’.

Noted lyricist Javed Akhtar, who likes to identify himself as an atheist, had sided with the Muslim leaders who wanted certain changes in the film. “I believe that any film passed by the censors should be released. But Ratnam has abdicated his right by having his product censored by Thackeray. So, he might as well get it censored by some mullas,” he had said back then.

Shiv Sena and Bal Thackeray on Mani Ratnam’s Bombay

The film had a character that was inspired from Shiv Sena patriarch Bal Thackeray. Like many other films that require the Thackerays’ and Shiv Sena’s seal of approval before seeing light of the day, Bombay, too needed Thackeray’s blessings. The character which had been shown as main instigator of riots was shown to be repenting later at the havoc that had been created. Thackeray reportedly got the scene altered. “I regret nothin,” he had then reportedly said.

The same Shiv Sena is currently the ray of hope for ‘secular-liberals’ because it is in opposition of the BJP.

Bombay triggered protests by Muslim groups across India

It was not only in Mumbai or Maharashtra where Mani Ratnam’s Bombay triggered protests. Thane, Bhopal, Hubli, Meerut – the screening had to be stayed. A bomb was hurled at Mani Ratnam at his house and he was later hospitalised. Radical Muslim group Al-Umah, which had earlier attacked Hindu leaders in Madras (now Chennai) was suspected to be behind the attack.

So, you see, when the religion was reversed, things didn’t just remain limited to social media outrage.

BJP slams Youth Congress leader for remarks against Yogi Adityanath, accuses him of disregarding ‘Natha’ tradition

0

BJP on Saturday alleged that Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress president Mithun M Rai had disregarded the “Natha” tradition by making defamatory remarks against Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. Addressing the media, the president of the BJP Dakshina Kannada unit Sudarshan Moodbidri said Rai had spoken disrespectfully against Yogi Adityanath during two protest meeting against the Hathras incident, on the outskirts of Mangaluru a few days ago.

The Congress leader had reportedly called Yogi Adityanath incompetent and had threatened to blacken his face with ink had he stepped foot in Dakshina Kannada district.

The BJP leader said that the Congress youth leader had insulted the Nath tradition of Hinduism which Yogi Adityanath heads. The BJP leader said that Rai should realise the Natha tradition has close links with Mangaluru as its mutt is housed in Kadri and Yogi Adityanath is a leader of the tradition. The BJP leader tore into the Congress Youth President by saying that Rai had not only shown his true colours but also displayed how the Congress party conducts itself.

“Rai has perhaps forgotten that Yogi Adityanath, head of the Goraknath Mutt, in his religious capacity even now is an inevitable part in selecting and ensuring smooth succession at the Kadali mutt in the city. The Jogi community holds the Kadali mutt in high esteem and Rai’s utterances in the name of the right to freedom of expression is an affront to the community. Any protest should not cross limits of democratic decency,” the BJP leader said.

Moodbidri stated that Yogi Adityanath had successfully handled the law and order situation in a state as vast as Uttar Pradesh. He said, with regards to the Hathras incident, Yogi Aditynath has assured that the UP government would not leave any stone unturned and make sure that the perpetrators are given strict punishment. Saying so the BJP leader asserted that Congress party should show equal concern when it comes to crimes against women in non-BJP states.

How Congress had tried to exploit the Hathras incident

It may be recalled how the Congress party led by Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi had tried to exploit the brutal Hathras incident to revive their drowning political career. In fact, Rahul Gandhi’s aide in Hathras had revealed murky details of Congress’ bloody plot to instigate caste riots in the village.

The Congress plot to politically exploit the incident was exposed further when audio of the call between an unidentified person and the victim’s brother was leaked where the former was heard is heard telling Sandeep, the brother of the victim, to not leave his house because senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi would be visiting his home.

He was heard tutoring the victim’s brother about Priyanka Gandhi’s visit and what they should tell her about the administration’s investigation into the case.

‘Assamese daughters becoming victim of Ajmal’s culture, boys hiding religious identity will face ruthless punishment’: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Health and Education Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Himanta Biswa Sarma has promised to start a “new and strict” fight against ‘Love Jihad’ cases in Assam.

While addressing the BJP Mahila Morcha meeting in Dibrugarh on October 11, the minister said, “Our culture is facing threats”. Blaming social media of acting as the main catalyst in promoting Love Jihad in the country, the BJP minister said that Assam BJP will launch a massive campaign against the menace of Love Jihad where Assamese girls are being trapped by men under false identities.

Himanta Biswa blames social media for rising cases of Love Jihad

Asserting that social media is playing a role in girls falling prey to Love Jihad cases, the Assam Health Minister said, “We will have to start a new and strict fight against Love Jihad on Assam’s soil. If the BJP comes to power again, we will take a decision that if any man hides his religious identity to trap and harass Assamese girls, he will face ruthless and rigorous punishment.”

Hitting out at the AIUDF chief and Lok Sabha MP from Dhubri, Badruddin Ajmal, Biswa claimed that Assamese daughters are becoming victims of “Ajmal’s culture” on Facebook. He emphasised that Islamic fundamentalists, encouraged by leaders like Badruddin Ajmal have been promoting the targeting of Hindu Assamese girls by Muslim men, often under false identities.

“We have taken an oath that if Ajmal’s army touches our women, the only punishment for them will be a death sentence, nothing less. We are working with such a resolve,” he said.

The BJP minister furthered that the threats ‘Ajmal’s Army’ poses now is similar to the aggressions faced from Babar and Aurangzeb around 500-600 years ago.

“If people do not unite then society will not be saved”: Himanta Biswa asks for public support to fight the menace of Love Jihad

Meanwhile, Himanta Biswa Sharma said how “Love Jihad has created a mountain-like problem for Assamese daughters. Many girls have faced talaaq (divorce) situations after getting duped by fake names of the boys. The BJP has resolved that whenever any culture- civilisation attacks Assamese girls, ruthless replies will be given,” he said.

Biswa continued how BJP had lost political power in five constituencies due to the conspiracy of some people. He said: “If people do not unite then the society will not be saved. That is why the 2021 assembly election is for saving our culture-civilisation,” said Biswa.

Biswa furthered that if the Hindus, which constitute 65 per cent of Assam’s population, do not collectively put up a fight against the menace of Love Jihad, then Assam, in the next 15 years would not remain a suitable place to live in.

Love Jihad-an emerging problem in the country

Love Jihad in an emerging problem, rapidly spreading its tentacles across many parts of the country. OpIndia brought to the fore at least 20 such cases reported from Uttar Pradesh and other states in the last 2 months. It is now a well-established fact that the menace of Love Jihad exists and a well-organised syndicate, sponsored by many radical Islamic organisations, has been working towards it, in an attempt to push the nation towards a civil war.

The BJP minister vows to shut down state-run Madrasas by converting them to regular schools

The Assam Health Minister claimed that he has vowed to shut down the state-run Madrasas as his government would convert them into regular, secular and modern schools.

It may be recalled that recently, many media houses published a report by IANS saying that Assam government has decided to shut down the govt run madrasas and Sanskrit tols (school) in the state. We had, however, cleared that the Assam Govt has decided to convert the state-run Madrasas and tols into regular schools. We had reported why the IANS report was misleading. Contrary to what they reported, the madrasas and tols are not being shut down by the Assam govt, but actually being converted to regular schools.

The state govt had announced the intention to end religious and separate language schools in 2017 itself. Reportedly, there are more than 600 government-run madrassas in Assam and 900 other private madrassas, which are run by Jamiat Ulema. The Assam government spends nearly Rs 4 crore to run these madrassas in the state and about Rs 1 crore on Sanskrit tols annually.

BJP worked against Rhino poaching and freed 14 thousand hectares of encroached land: Himanta Biswa

Accusing the Islamists, at the behest of Lok Sabha MP Badruddin Ajmal, of Rhino poaching, the Assam BJP minister said that those who have “encroached the land of our Sattras have not even spared the rhinos in Kaziranga”. However, Biswa asserted that BJP in its four and a half years of rule has been able to not only save the rhinos and regain Kaziranga’s pride but also make 14 thousand hectares of land encroachment free and give it to the landless indigenous people.

“We have made progress in this fight of culture-civilisation. But five years is not enough. New problems are emerging as we are fighting the older issues. Assam doesn’t have time to laugh or relax. Every day, we are losing our land, culture-civilisation, history, geography,” Sarma said.

BJP needs to fight a long battle in Assam

Sarma emphasised that a long battle needs to be fought in Assam. BJP’s “Saraighat battle” doesn’t end in five years. “We will have to fight till we finish off Ajmal’s army politically,” Sarma said.

For the unaware, BJP had termed the 2016 election as the “last battle of Saraighat” to oust the Congress government. This had been in reference to the 1671 battle in which the Ahom army led by Lachit Borphukan had defeated the Mughals.

“This is not a poll of schemes. This is not an election for someone to become the chief minister or an MLA. This is an election to save our society”, Himanta Biswa said furthering that if one wants to live as an Assamese, then BJP has to be made victorious in 2021 to save and keep the Sanatan civilisation alive.

PM Modi’s effort to save Ram Janmabhoomi has given confidence to crores of Indians: Biswa

Saying PM Modi had saved the Hindus from failing to save Lord Ram’s birthplace, the Assam Health and Education Minister said that PM Modi’s persistence and courage, which he showed by fighting all odds and successfully laying the foundation stone of Ram Janmabhoomi, has given confidence to crores of Indians.

Emphasising on the work BJP government has done in the last four and a half years in Assam, the Assam minister hoped that the people of Assam would bring BJP back to power to keep the Sanatan civilisation in the sentinel of north-east India alive.

Tanishq removes controversial advertisement glorifying ‘love jihad’ following social media outrage

A massive outrage broke over various social media platforms with users calling for the boycott of the jewellery brand Tanishq for their latest advertisement which showcased a Hindu woman married into a Muslim family, preparing for her baby shower. Heeding to criticism, the controversial advertisement which was accused of promoting ‘love jihad’ has been pulled down from YouTube.

Earlier today, the company faced a severe backlash from social media users, who accused the organisation of glorifying and promoting ‘love jihad’ through its latest commercial. #BoycottTanishq was amongst the top trending items on microblogging website Twitter as netizens called for boycotting the brand for peddling soft bigotry.

The ad released on October 9 shows a pregnant Hindu woman walking with her mother-in-law, who distinctly belonged to the Muslim faith. The Muslim mother-in-law then leads the Hindu daughter-in-law to the garden area, where the god-bharai ceremony has been set up according to Hindu traditions.

Shocked, the daughter-in-law asks the mother-in-law why the ceremony was set up in that manner since “these things are not followed in the house”. To that, the smiling mother-in-law tells her that while this might not be their tradition (since they are a Muslim family), making daughters happy is a universal tradition.

Social Media outrage over the controversial Tanishq advertisement

The advertisement sparked massive outrage on social media websites, with more than 17,000 users tweeting with the hashtag ‘#Boycott Tanishq, calling for the boycott of the jewellery brand for promoting the concept of ‘love jihad’ and hurting the sentiments of Hindus.

The outrage was partly fuelled by the recent case of an 18-year-old Rahul Rajput, who was brutally hacked to death by his Muslim girlfriend’s brother and his friends. The Muslim girl’s family, particularly her brother, were opposed to their inter-religious affair. Further, in reality, there have been innumerable cases where Hindu women are forced to convert to Islam and marry Muslim men.

Recently, family members of a 20-year-old girl have alleged that one Salman entrapped their daughter, forced her to convert to Islam and marry her. In September, an aspiring model Pooja committed suicide after her husband allegedly forced her to adopt Islam.
