Gandhi vs Non-Gandhi Congress president debate intensifies as Sonia Gandhi asks Congress to find a new chief

In a significant event, the Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday responded to a letter written by a group of party leaders urging sweeping changes in the party, asking them to find that they a new chief as she does not want to carry out the responsibilities any further, reports Hindustan Times.

According to the reports, Sonia Gandhi has told them that she is no more interested in leading the Congress party after the Congress Working Committee (CWC) had requested her to return as the party president. Sonia Gandhi had accepted the post of the interim chief after the senior leaders of the party persuasion only on one condition that the party will find her replacement soon.

The Congress leaders had pleaded to her to be the party president after Gandhi-scion Rahul Gandhi had resigned from the post of the party president after a humiliating defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

At that time too, Sonia Gandhi mentioned in her response that she had insisted that the new president should be someone from outside the Gandhi family, the functionary quoted from the letter.

Captain Amarinder Singh opposes non-Gandhi president

Meanwhile, Captain Amarinder Singh has opposed the idea of a non-Gandhi president of the Congress party and has called that the attempt by a few leaders to seek a change in the leadership as a bid to challenge the Gandhi family leadership of the party.

According to Economic Times reporter Aman Sharma, the Punjab Chief Minister said Sonia Gandhi should continue at the helm of the affairs at the Congress party as long as she wanted to and Rahul Gandhi should thereafter take over as he was fully competent to lead the party.

Punjab CM Amarinder Singh has also claimed that the demand for leadership change is untenable as currently Congress party needs a leadership which is acceptable not just to a few but to the entire party and the nation at large. There is currently no leader in the Congress party who could give the party that kind of strong leadership, said the Punjab CM.

Senior Congress leaders write letter to Sonia Gandhi

Earlier in the day, it was reported that at least 23 senior leaders of the party had written a letter to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi seeking a complete overhaul of the organisation.

Ahead of the CWC that is scheduled to take place on Monday, the leaders of the Congress party had urged for the need for vision and mechanism to govern the party with an effective central leadership which is active and also visible on the ground. In the letter, the Congress leaders had demanded re-election of the CWC and the establishment of an effective collective system of responsibility.

The letter was reportedly signed by senior leaders of the party including five former Chief Ministers, many Congress Working Committee members, sitting MPs, and several former Union Ministers.

The signatories to the letter include Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, party MPs and former Union Ministers Anand Sharma, Kapil Sibal, Manish Tewari, Shashi Tharoor, MP Vivek Tankha.

The AICC office bearers and CWC members including Mukul Wasnik and Jitin Prasada and former Chief Ministers and Union Ministers including Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Rajender Kaur Bhattal, M Veerappa Moily, Prithviraj Chavan, P J Kurian, Ajay Singh, Renuka Chaudhary, and Milind Deora too had reportedly signed the letter.

Those Ganpati idols deserved ‘sthapana’ and ‘visarjan’: How Divy Pandey in Bahrain immersed the idols broken by burqa-clad lady

A week after burqa-clad lady in Bahrain broke the Ganpati idols in the supermarket in Bahrain, Divya Pandey, an Indian currently living in Bahrain has given them the ‘visarjan’ they deserved.

Speaking to OpIndia, Divy Pandey said that moment he saw the viral video, he could not get it out of his head. “It was shocking since Bahrain is very open in terms of respecting other religions. People of Bahrain are very friendly and hence it was unusual to see the outburst by the woman in burqa,” he says.

With Ganesh Chaturthi round the corner, Pandey said that they were any way planning to get a Ganpati idol at home. So he called up the supermarket and offered to buy out those moortis. “Those moortis deserved sthapana and visarjan. When I saw the video I instantly recognised the supermarket as it is very near to my place. I went there to request them that I would like to buy all the broken idols, do their sthapana and visarjan. However, due to the legal case, they were not able to give them to me,” he said.

Divy Pandey taking the Ganpati idol for visarjan

However, he was persistent. On Ganesh Chaturthi, he received a call that since the idols are no longer required as evidence in legal proceedings, he could come and collect them. “I could not wait. I quickly got into my car and drove down to get the Bappa home. They say one should not do sthapana of a khandit (broken) idol. However, I do not consider these as khandit moorti. They were deliberately broken. I brought them home, did sthapana, a small puja and bid goodbye to the Ganpati by going the visarjan,” he said.

Video of burqa-clad woman breaking Hindu idols goes viral

Last week on social media, video of a burqa-clad woman breaking idols of Lord Ganesha in a super market had gone viral. Radical Islamists had taken to Twitter to appreciate the woman breaking the idols. Later, the Ministry of Interior, Bahrain issued a statement saying that the woman was summoned for intentionally damaging a shop in Juffair and breaking religious idols. The ministry has further stated that legal proceedings are underway.

Adv Monika Arora, author of ‘Delhi Riots 2020: The Untold Story’, writes to Bloomsbury questioning their unethical way to terminate publication of the book

0

Advocate Monika Arora, who authored the book Delhi Ripts 2020: The Untold Story, has written a letter to Bloomsbury India asking them how they can abandon a writer without any communication. In the email, written on behalf of the three authors of the book, she wrote that the Indian office of the publishing house called her and informed that they had been pressurized by the UK office to withdraw their name as the publisher of the book. Arora mentioned in the letter that she was shocked by their decision and requested them not to withdraw their name as the publisher because of the people who have not even read the book yet.

Monika Arora has also revealed that Bloomsbury India is yet to send any formal communication to the authors about withdrawal of the book, they only informed the same over phone, and no written communication has been received from them.

Bloomsburg did not listen to the request and removed the book from Amazon. Before they could remove it, because of the response it got from the readers who pre-ordered it so that they get their hands on a copy next month; the book was already a bestseller in categories Political Freedom and Security.

Arora mentioned a few essential points that can be legally problematic for the publishing house:

  • There was a contract in place that had been signed between the authors and the publishing house.
  • Bloomsbury communicated with the authors for three months, suggested changes, checked manuscripts and approved the final draft after every change they discussed was made.
  • The publishing house mailed the authors the final draft followed by 100 printed hard copies. These copies are generally meant for distribution among reviewers, influencers, family and friends of the author(s).
  • The launch, on which they objected, was very much in their knowledge and they never objected on the guestlist before the outrage.

Being an advocate, Monika Arora mentioned that the breach of the contract attracts Civil and Criminal liability. The publishing house can be held responsible for damaging the authors’ reputation and causing mental agony. Arora mentioned that while the copyrights, material, and previous drafts of the book are with the publishing house, they do not have the right to abandon the book. It was also mentioned in the letter that the publishing house has failed in communicating with the authors to provide any clarification.

The author requested the publication house to formally inform that the book has been withdrawn, the contract has been terminated, and they are no longer the publisher of the book.

Bloomsbury withdraws book under pressure from leftists

The book was virtually launched on 22nd August 2020. The left-leaning social media users who generally preach freedom of speech got irked by the fact that a second book is being released that has the potential to kill their propaganda to prove ilk of Tahir Hussain or organizers of anti-CAA protests had nothing to do with Delhi Riots in 2020. They bullied the publishing house with the help of anti-Hindu authors like William Dalrymple. After publishing house announced they would not publish the book, many authors terminated the contracts with them.

The full text of the letter is given below.

Bloomsbury Please Reply
Dear Mr. Paul Kumar
This has reference to the launch of our book Delhi Riots 2020- The Untold Story which was scheduled at 4 pm on 22 August 2020 at 3.30 pm and subsequent events thereof on the same day . You called us on phone and informed us that you are withdrawing as a publisher from the aforesaid book due to pressure from Bloomsbury UK which in turn was pressurized by the social media campaign on twitter etc. wherein people from around the world apparently tagged Bloomsbury UK and told you to disassociate from the aforesaid book.
We were shocked and we requested you to not withdraw as a publisher from this book under pressure from those who have not even seen the book or read the book and may be who are people who are driven by an agenda and do not want this book to see the light of the day and the truth of Delhi Riots to come out before the people of India.
You showed your helplessness and told us that you are under tremendous pressure and hence are issuing a statement in public domain that you are withdrawing from the book. You told us that you have nothing to do with the book launch function.
No other reason was given by you for such a drastic step. Shocked at the turn of events we gathered our composure and we went online and launched the book.
The launch program and the book became a hit immediately. People throughout the country and abroad had started placing orders for the book on Amazon and putting these screenshots on twitter. We started getting calls that Amazon says that people can only pre-order the book to be launched by Sep 14 2020.
Many told us that they wanted to read the book immediately as they wanted to know the truth of the Delhi Riots. Thereafter people started tweeting and tagging us that the book has been removed from Amazon and that the link of the book has been removed and it is currently unavailable. People also started tweeting and putting the screen shots that it had become the number 1 bestseller on Amazon in the category Political Freedom and Security category. Thousands of people wanted to read the book but the book was unavailable. People were clueless, where to get the book from. And we were clueless where our publisher had gone. In the meantime Bloomsbury also released 2 statements in social media. The first statement was on 21 August 2020 at 8.41 pm to the effect that you were publishing the aforesaid book but not organizing any launch events.
The second statement by you in the social media states that you were withdrawing as a publisher from the aforesaid book.
You Bloomsbury have signed a contract with the authors.
You Bloomsbury have over the past 3 months communicated with us through e- mails, SMS, WhatsApp all of which are in our possession.
You Bloomsbury finalized the draft of the aforesaid book. Authors and you the publisher mutually suggested many changes and all were incorporated in the final draft which the authors finalized and as publisher you approved.
You Bloomsbury emailed the final draft to us.
You Bloomsbury went ahead with the publication, published the books and gave us 100 hard copies.
We have sent these copies throughout India to our well- wishers, renowned authors, media persons, social media influencers and other such intellectuals for review of this book.
Launch was planned by us as it was our program a GIA program. GIA is The Group of Intellectuals and Academicians, a group of professional women comprising lawyers, professors, journalists, artists and others.
The e- card of the Book Launch was put in public domain You had full knowledge of this book launch and the guest list. You never objected orally or in writing regarding the guest list or the launch event.
But what happened? You Bloomsbury are such a renowned publisher who has published books like Harry Potter.
This is breach of contract, unethical and unprofessional conduct. This will invite Civil and Criminal Liability and you will be liable to pay damages to the authors for damaging their reputation, disowning them publicly, causing mental agony to not only the authors but to millions of people who believed in you, who wanted to order the book, read the book and who wasted their time and energy on Amazon, searching and pre-ordering the book which you have withdrawn without information to the authors and thereby made unavailable.
AND all the above was done without a simple email to the authors officially informing that you are withdrawing as a publisher and from the contract.
All copyrights are with you, all material is with you, all previous drafts are with you. We designed the cover which was done and redone by your team and our team over the past one month and the final designed cover sent to you by the authors and you approved it. All out intellectual property is with you. And you Bloomsbury who is an internationally acclaimed publisher who do not care for your authors who have reposed their faith in you. You do not even care to write 2 lines and even care enough to give reasons why you have abandoned and orphaned the book without even an official communication to authors who have trusted you and your professional standing as a publisher.
Withdrawing minutes before its launching, removing the link from Amazon so that people cannot place orders, not communicating to the authors about the status of their hard work approved ad published by you as 100 copies supplied and not communicating to the authors eve 24 hours after you dumped them is nothing less than a conspiracy to kill the book.
May we add here that you can kill the supply of the book but not the idea and not the truth. Bloomsbury may we tell you that Brown Lives matter and Brown women matter too. We have the fundamental right of Freedom of Speech and Expression and of publication of our ideas which have been duly approved by you as a publisher. On our behalf please inform Bloomsbury UK not to succumb under international pressure of agenda drive lobbies, if Internationally Black lives matter than in India Black lives matter and Brown lives matter too. May I add Brown women matter too.
We authors are putting this e- mail to you out of pain and agony. Can we take this liberty to request you to at least inform us officially through e-mail that have you withdrawn/gone back on the contract, terminated the contract with us, are no longer our publisher. Is this too much to ask for? We are requesting you to please reply to us by 4 pm today.

Punjab: One Khalistani sympathiser arrested from Amritsar for performing prayers at Golden Temple for ‘Referendum 2020’

0

The Punjab Police has arrested one Khalistani terror sympathiser from the Golden Temple complex after he allegedly organised prayers for the Referendum 2020, reports India Today.

According to the reports, Khalistani terror sympathiser Gurmeet Singh also shot a video of the prayer he organised at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab. Reportedly, Singh organised prayers after the pro-Khalistan group Sikh for Justice (SFJ) had claimed that it would offer $5000 to anyone performing prayers for Khalistan at Akal Takht on August 23.

In an attempt to attract Sikhs into performing prayers for Khalistan cause and garner support for ‘Referendum 2020’, Sikh for Justice’s Gurpatwant Singh Pannu had announced a $5000 reward for people organising such prayers at Akal Takht and $500 for performing them at any other gurdwaras.

Gurmeet Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran, works as a Sikh preacher (granthi), confessed to the police that he was promised $5000 by Pannu if prayer is held for Khalistan at the Golden Temple.

Earlier too, the Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu had offered money to lure people to support Referendum 2020. He had also offered air tickets and jobs at Khalistani events organised in foreign countries.

The Khalistani terrorists had also claimed to have offered money to coronavirus patients in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. In the past, he also tried to radicalise Sikh soldiers by offering them full salary and additional Rs 5000 for deserting the Indian Army.

What is the Sikh Referendum – 2020?

Sikh Referendum-2020 is a separatist movement being planned by US-based radical group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) in support of a separate state of Khalistan. The pro-Khalistani movement is supported and funded by the terrorist state of Pakistan in a hope that this movement will create instability in Punjab in India, which shares a border with Pakistan.

The referendum asks Sikhs living across the world to build a consensus in favour of Khalistan and sign a declaration for the formation of a sovereign and independent country in “India-occupied Punjab” on the basis that Sikhs are the indigenous people of Punjab and have a historical homeland, are a separate religion and have the right to self-determination.

Pakistan’s spy agency ISI is reportedly instigating the Sikhs based out of Europe and America against India after failing to penetrate their agenda in Punjab. The Pakistan spy agency has been attempting to exploit the unsuspecting Sikhs to push its agenda and achieve its nefarious designs against India.

However, in a big blow to Pakistan sponsored Khalistani movement, the government of India has banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) for its separatist agenda. The government banned this organisation under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act).

Muzaffarnagar: 10-year-old married off to her rapist, given triple talaq

Zakir Naik says Hindus are less than 60% of Indian population, Muslims can win if they follow his advice

Islamist preacher Zakir Naik in a recent video on YouTube has made extremely controversial and dangerous remarks on the internal matters of India. During the video, he urged Muslims to united behind a single political party and suggested that they should perform ‘Hijra’ (migration) if they are unable to perform their daily rituals. He made the remarks during a response to a question from one of India followers living in Kuwait.

Zakir Naik said, “Do you know we Muslims, Alhamdulillah, according to the official statistics of the Indian government more than ten years back, it says that Muslims are 14.2% (of the Indian population) and a few years back they said that we are more than 200 million Muslims in India.” He claimed that this figure was without counting many Muslims in Assam and other parts of India.

“Actually, according to me, the Muslims will be close to 250 to 300 million in India. The government suppresses the figure. Officially, Indonesia is counted as the country which has the maximum number of Muslims… but according to me, number 1 in the world, the country which has maximum number of Muslims, it is my beloved country India,” the Radical Islamic preacher said.

Zakir Naik was speaking on the “Solution to overcome the harassment and oppression of the Muslims in India by the fascist BJP Govt”. He said, “Politically, we should have only one party. We Muslims should make another political party exclusively, only, for Muslims. And this party should be a force by itself.” He said that this party should be of all Muslims regardless of the sect that they belong to.

He goes on to say that Muslims should join hands with Dalits in order to increase their strength and claims that Dalits are not Hindus. “We will be close to 600 million, more than 40 per cent of the population. We can join hands with the other minorities and then we will be a bigger force.” Effectively, he is saying that Hindus are less than 60 per cent of the population. The preacher further says that Muslims should support those parties that are not ‘communal’.

The Islamic preacher then elaborated on another solution for Muslims individually. He said, “If you feel that you cannot do you farayz, you cannot do most of your Sunnah, then Allah clearly mentions in Surah Nisa, chapter number 4, verse 97 that you have to do Hijra.” He then says that Hijra can be of various types. A Muslim could flee to a Muslim majority country or in a state within India or a different city within a state or a different area within the same city.

“What you can do is do Hijra to a different state which is more lenient towards Muslims.. The best state I can think of is Kerala,” Zakir Naik stated. He said that the demographics of the state are in the favour of Muslims where people are not ‘communal’ in nature. he also mentions that the BJP government does not have much hold over Kerala. Hyderabad and Mumbai are other non-communal places he mentions.

The Left rules in Kerala and the Maha Vikas Aghadi Alliance comprising of Shiv Sena, NCP and the Congress party rules in Maharashtra. Muslim leader Asaduddin Owaisi has his base in Hyderabad. However, he says that the best option is to do Hijra, i.e. migrate to a Muslim country.

Tamil Nadu: Hindu Sadhu Saravanan commits suicide after police officer Anthony Michael thrashes and humiliates him

A 42-year-old Hindu sadhu – Saravanan has ended his life out of humiliation and torture near Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s village, after a group of policemen led by a local sub-inspector Anthony Micheal humiliated the Hindu Sadhu.

According to the reports, the shocking incident occurred at Kundangal Kaadu in Sankagiri taluk in Salem district of Tamil Nadu. Sadhu Saravanan used to perform special poojas at new moon days for his devotees, who complain of being possessed by ghosts. Several people visited his ashram situated in village Puliyampatti Kudalamkadu near Edappadi for divine healing and to get a holy pendant.

Reportedly, the Sadhu used to sit at his home and attended devotees coming to him. On 14 August, two women who had reported of being possessed by ghosts came to the Sadhu in a semi-naked position. Interestingly, a group of policemen from Thevur police station also landed at his place at that time and beat him up.

SI Anthony Michael beat up Hindu Sadhu brutally

SI Anthony Michael also rushed to the spot and allegedly thrashed him after abusing him. Some people reportedly said the police beat him up when he was eating a packet of food given by a woman devotee.

Following the attack on him, the Hindu Sadhu went missing the next morning. As local people and his friends began a search next day, his friends received his video on Whatsapp in which he said that the police beating had led to his depression.

Later, on 15th August his decomposed body was found in that area and the police found a mobile near the body. “Sub-inspector Anthony Michael beat me up thinking he can do anything with the power he got,” the sadhu alleged in the video.

Family allege police brutality led to death

After the death of the Hindu Sadhu, the police officials have filed the case as an unnatural death case, thus raising doubts over the credibility of the investigation, who are now accused of protecting the SI.

Meanwhile, the son and daughter of victim Saravanan said to the local media that the SI had brutally attacked their father. “Dad was upset at being attacked in front of his family and did not speak to us and left home on Saturday morning. But his body was found in a forest area”, he recalled the events.

Saravanan is survived by his wife, a daughter and son. They have requested the authorities to initiate action against SI Anthony.

Hindus demands justice

The social media users have demanded justice to the Hindu Sadhu and also pointed out how the media in Tamil Nadu have chosen silence over the death as in this case the deceased is a Hindu.

The netizens trended #JusticeForSaravanan on Twitter and criticised Tamil media’s hypocrisy for ignoring the mysterious death of the Hindu Sadhu, who was brutally beaten by the Hindu Sadhu.

Meanwhile, Hindu groups such as Hindu Makkal Katchi has said that a protest across Tamil Nadu to seek justice for Hindu Sadhu Saravanan.

Here are 5 excuses liberals have put forward in defence of modern day ‘book burning’, and why it makes them look like total morons

Bloomsbury India decided to withdraw a book on the Delhi Riots on Saturday after being bullied into the decision by a left-wing outrage mob, comprising of liberals, Congress supporters and Islamists. Later, it was revealed that Left Historian William Dalrymple had contributed prominently towards that decision. The book, ‘Delhi Riots 2020: The Untold Story’, was authored by Monika Arora, Sonali Chitalkar and Dr Prerna Malhotra.

Since they announced their decision to withdraw their book, Bloomsbury India has come under significant criticism from people across the spectrum with multiple authors withdrawing their books from the publication house in protest. However, liberals continue to defend them even when they engaged in blatant censorship of freedom of expression.

Liberals are now coming up with ridiculous explanations in order to justify Bloomsbury India’s decision to withdraw the Delhi Riots book. They now claim that censoring the book is not a freedom of expression issue at all. Their justification for the deliberate censorship of contrarian political opinion is that the book is supposedly ‘hate speech’ and ‘lies’. Here, we shall look into the various arguments given by the outrage mob to justify censorship.

“It is not a free speech issue”

Liberals have made it clear that they wish to exercise a monopoly over what constitutes truth and they want us to trust their words over our own eyes. “Lies is not a free speech issue,” declared Swara Bhasker. Amusingly enough, she has not even read the book because it was not even released. How could she then know if it contains lies or not? What happened to the famous liberal dictum of “Watch the movie before outraging”?

“The book enables a pogrom!”

Rana Ayyub demonstrated the intimate relationship between Islam and Communism. She claimed that it was an issue between the ‘oppressor’ and the ‘oppressed’ and one of freedom of speech. Meanwhile, her almost sudden rise to fame in western media circles is rather intriguing and only reveals the pits that journalism has fallen to in the West.

It is a bit rich coming from someone whose book ‘Gujarat Files’ was trashed by Supreme Court as based on ‘surmises, conjectures and suppositions’.

“Work of Propaganda!”

Arfa Khanum Sherwani, ‘journalist’ at leftist propaganda website The Wire, justified the withdrawal of the book by calling it a work of propaganda. It is ironical indeed.

“Free Speech is not desirable!”

Time’s ‘Next Gen Leader’ Gurmehar Kaur was the most honest among all of them. She said quite clearly that freedom of expression is a virtue worth protecting. In fact, according to her, freedom of expression is a tool of oppression. The rest of her statement is borrowed from the SJW mob in Universities in the United States that regularly censors Conservative speech.

Make no mistake, what Gurmehar Kaur is really saying is that people must not be allowed to speak as they see fit and liberals should have the authority to dictate what speech is permissible. ‘Hate Speech’ is, of course, a convenient term invented to disguise their lust for power under a cloak of virtue. What she is effectively condemning is free speech itself.

“Hindutva folks don’t read anyway”

Then, there was the usual snobbery. It is important to realise here that they feel no shame at all about censoring contrarian political opinion. They consider it a victory whenever they manage to bully a platform into withdrawing its support for non-left speech. Liberals are quite like Radical Muslims in that way.

While the rest of the world looks on with horror at the devastation wreaked by Islamic Terrorism, Radical Muslims actually celebrate it with great pomp and vigour. It is the same with liberals. While everyone feels bile rising through their throat watching the distasteful tactics of the Left, liberals wear it as a badge of pride.

All of this again goes on to demonstrate that liberals do not care about principles, they only care about power. They will advocate action that enhances their power even if it is seemingly inconsistent with the principles they claim to espouse. A justification, no matter how twisted, can always be produced later on to claim that their actions were never in contradiction with their principles.

The reason for this is simple, liberals do not seek to convince anyone. They only wish to ensure that their absolute control over power is not threatened. And in order to achieve that objective, they will go to any extent necessary. Principles are minor inconveniences that can always be rectified to suit one’s objective.

Thus, quite clearly, liberal support for ‘freedom of expression’ comes with various terms and conditions. The most important one, of course, is bending the knee and serving their nefarious agenda.
