Uttarakhand administration refuses permission for proposed maha panchayat by Hindus in Purola over love-jihad cases, section 144 imposed

Since the recent love jihad incident has come to the fore from the Purola region of Uttarkashi, racial tensions have been progressively rising in the region and a sense of uneasiness has been created among the local masses. Several people fear violence and probable social unrest amid the increasing tensions.

Amid this, the Uttarkashi district administration has refused permission for a maha panchayat which was proposed to be held today, on June 15. The district administration has also imposed Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which prohibits the gathering of four or more people in a specified area, District Magistrate of Uttarkashi Abhishek Rohilla said.

The Mahapanchayat was organized by the Purola Pradhan Sangathan and was supported from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the Bajrang Dal among others. District Magistrate of Uttarkashi Abhishek Rohilla said, “The permission for the proposed maha panchayat to be held on June 15 has been denied. No one will be given permission to break the law.”

This is even after the Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected a request to stop the maha panchayat planned by Hindu organisations in Purola. The petition was filed by an association for Protection of Civil Rights.

The complaint also asked for the filing of an FIR against pro-Hindutva supporters for allegedly making hateful remarks that were directed at a certain group of people. Notably now, even though the Supreme Court has refused to stop the event, it has been stopped by the local administration and accordingly it will not take place, unless the government reverts the decision.

Hindu organizations say ‘intention just to awaken Hindus’

As per the reports, the Police on June 14 also beefed up security in Purola and carried out a flag march in the town. The officials also met the locals and appealed them to maintain peace over the matter.

However, reports further mention that the Hindu organizations have announced that they will hold the maha panchayat as per their earlier plan. Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) working president Virendra Singh Rawat said, “It’s the administration’s prerogative to impose Section 144 of CrPC but we will hold the Mahapanchayat on June 15 as per the sentiments of the local community. Our intention is just to awaken the Hindus who have been at the receiving end of the illegal activities of a particular community.”

“We had informed the local administration about the maha panchayat through a letter on June 13,” he added.

Uved Khan abducted the Hindu minor girl in Purola

The case of love jihad in question was reported on May 31 from the Purola region of Uttarkashi where a Hindu minor girl was abducted by two youths, one of whom is from the Muslim community. The two accused have been identified as Uved Khan and Jitendra Saini. One of the accused owns a cycle repairing shop and the other one is engaged in making handmade blankets in the main market area of Purola.

One of them named Uved Khan trapped a Hindu girl studying in class 9, who is the daughter of one of the local shopkeepers in the market. He promised her marriage and then abducted her with the help of the other accused to the Vikasnagar region of the state. The duo were caught and have been taken into custody by the police.

After the incident, locals launched massive protest and demanded the shutdown of the shops owned by outsiders, the majority of whom are from the minority community. The locals also demanded police verification of the outsiders. Earlier they had revealed how outsiders, people from the minority community migrate to Purola as shopkeepers and daily wage earners but engage in their religious propaganda.

In the recent update, the police authorities have began police verification of the outsiders as demanded by the local shopkeepers. Also, around 8-10 outsiders who had their businesses in the main market have left the Purola region.

Facebook and Twitter, now both agree that so-called ‘fact-checkers’ are biased and liars: What Elon Musk said now and what Facebook admitted in 2021

‘Fact-checking’ has emerged as a big-ticket business model where certain individuals, who aren’t necessarily journalists, appoint themselves the arbitrators of truth and morality. In India and elsewhere in the world, the truth, the actual truth, is often suppressed and obfuscated under the garb of ‘fact-checking’.

On the 13th of June, a news report emerged which claimed that in the USA, nearly 100% of the fact-checkers’ contribution goes to the Democrats. It was reported that there is a new study that shows that most contribution goes to one political party in the USA – the democrats – at that all fact-checkers have a liberal bias.

“The study reviewed political donations over the past four election cycles. $22,580 of the $22,683 in political donations went to Democrats. Only three, obviously very small donations went to any Republicans!”, the report claimed.

Responding to this new, Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, tweeted that all fact-checkers were biased.

“The so-called fact-checkers are huge liars and incredibly biased”, Elon Musk tweeted.

With the current owner of Twitter denouncing self-proclaimed fact-checkers as “huge liars and incredibly biased”, one recalls a Facebook admission from 2021 that substantiated what Elon Musk has tweeted today. Just two years ago, Facebook said that its fact-checks were merely opinions.

Back in December 2021, Facebook admitted that the “fact checks” used to police what the people of the United States read and watch were just “opinions”. The admission by the social media giant came during the hearing of a lawsuit brought by celebrated journalist John Stossel that exposed the unreal battle against alleged “misinformation” by the left-liberals.

For example, Stossel shared a couple of videos on climate change. None of the videos questioned the authenticity of climate change but talked about subjects like forest management and using technology to adapt. However, Facebook’s third-party content moderators flagged them as “false” and “lacking context”. The reason behind tagging the videos as false and lacking context was probably the tone Stossel used. Facebook moderators flagged it as the tone was allegedly not in sync with what left-liberals propagate about the topic.

When Facebook was sued for minimizing Stossel’s reporting’s reach and depriving him of revenue and readers, the social media giant claimed it was not their problem. The situation was the same for many content creators who do not align with what the left liberals think.

Another example was The Post’s column on Covid-19, where Steven W. Mosher asked if the pandemic-causing virus was leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China. The report was labelled as “FALSE” by the fact-checkers on Facebook. The sources that were used to label that report false include those from EcoHealth that had funded the Wuhan Lab.

The situation has been the same on several social media platforms where the power is in left-liberals hands. Who can forget that BJP’s IT Cell chief Amit Malviya’s post was labelled false by Twitter, but it led the vicious campaign against former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma led by Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair. Everyone knows Zubair took the video out of context, trimmed it and published it on social media leading to an array of threats against Sharma. She is still living with a threat to her life while the likes of Zubair roam freely, choosing their next target.

Social media platforms remove the “false” or similar tag when questioned. Still, they wait for time until the reports no longer have the potential to substantially change society. Hunter Biden‘s story, for example, led to the de-platforming of The New York Post from Twitter. The concentration was diverted towards suspending The New York Post’s Twitter handle. The Hunter Biden story is still talked about, leading to more exposure. Still, the impact it could have had on Joe Biden’s career as the President of the United States was watered down substantially as Twitter acted swiftly and diverted the attention from the real topic.

IFCN, its bias and why Twitter and Facebook need to act

In order to regain their hold over public discourse, the Left Cabal in concert with their masters floated the IFCN whose primary job it is to accredit ‘fake checkers’ of their favoured political dispensation.

In November, 2018, BBC came up with a shoddy research to blame Nationalism for the rise in fake news. Ultimately, they were forced to backtrack after OpIndia published a series of article debunking their ‘research’.

One of the main reasons why the BBC got it so wrong is the fact that they relied on biased fact-checkers for their research. The bias crept in because they relied on IFCN-accredited ‘fact-checkers’ for their research.

Thus, what happens when researchers rely on IFCN for research purposes? They end up reaching faulty conclusions that eventually forces them to pull down their research in their entirety. The BBC research has several other flaws but one of the primary ones was their reliance on biased sources of fake news.

IFCN is not designed for an authentic mechanism to curb fake news. Its sole purpose is to assist the Left cabal in maintaining their grip over public discourse under the garb of fighting ‘fake news’. Thus, it is extremely dangerous that Facebook partners with only IFCN accredited ‘fact checkers’ to combat fake news.

Twitter, too, has relied on such ‘fact checkers’ to dub tweets as ‘manipulated media’, which continues to be a cause for concern. It is also to be noted that the Poynter Institute, which owns the IFCN, also owns the Tampa Bay Times, a media outlet which endorsed Hillary Clinton for the Presidency of the United States of America in 2016.

With both Facebook and Twitter agreeing that ‘fact-checking’ is a sham business where the players are huge liars, biased and dole out only their opinions, it is imperitive that both social media giants take a hard look at their policy of allying with these elements.

Twitter, on its part, after the take over by Elon Musk did give back the power to the people by introducing community notes, however, the stronhold of such biased elements continues to be strong on Facebook and must be countered.

Over 200 days and 5 lakh pledges to abandon caste divisions: All you need to know about Swami Dipankar and his Bhiksha Yatra uniting Hindus

The tradition of Bhikshatan among Sannyasis in Indian Sanatan Dharma holds significance as it involves renouncing ego and actively engaging with society. Bhikshatan entails travelling for a purpose and sustaining oneself solely on food obtained through donations or Bhiksha. This practice undertaken by Sannyasis offers insights into society’s reality, exemplified by revered figures like Lord Buddha, Guru Gorakhnath, Machhendranath, Dadhichi, Bhartruhari, and Acharya Shankar, who embraced Bhikshatan, enlightening and raising awareness among the people.

Presently, the revered Swami Dipankar, a young monk, is diligently upholding this sacred tradition. Swami Dipankar has embarked on a profound Bhiksha yatra, for the last more than six months. During this extraordinary journey, he is traversing across regions, humbly seeking alms from people. However, the alms he seeks are not material possessions but he is asking Hindus for fervent resolve to abandon caste divisions among themselves.

On the 204th day of his yatra, Swami Dipankar is on a visit to Ghaziabad in western Uttar Pradesh and villages in the Saharanpur district. While speaking to OpIndia, Swami Dipankar said, “There are two Bhikshas taken from people in this Bhiksha Yatra – the first one is that they should not be divided into castes and pledge to become one as Hindus and the second Bhiksha is regarding the war against drugs. We ask people to give up addictions.”

Young Sannyasi Swami Dipankar stresses the need for Bhiksha Yatra to unite Hindus. He said, “When Pandits left Kashmir in 1990, they were not Hindus. They came out as pandits. Had they been Hindus, society would have stood together. It is very important to unite. If there is no unity, there will be caste censuses.”

Speaking about the impact of the caste census on the common Hindus, he said, “If there is a caste census, you will be divided once again. You think… There was never a backward class among Christians, no one among Muslims was from a category called a very backward class. But it is only among Hindus that there is a backward category, a very backward category and a super backward among Hindus.”

When asked about the need for the ‘Bhiksha Yatra’ to connect Hindus, Swami Dipankar said, “This is an ancient Indian tradition. In India, Buddha has asked for alms, Dadhichi has asked for alms and in the Gurukul tradition, brahmacharis were allowed to ask for alms.” He asserts that he is undertaking the Bhiksha Yatra, faithfully carrying forward the same time-honoured tradition.

Swami Dipankar acknowledges the remarkable support he has garnered throughout his Bhiksha Yatra, a sacred journey of seeking alms. To date, more than 500,000 individuals have joined this yatra and made profound resolutions. These individuals have pledged to transcend caste divisions and embrace Hinduism as a unified community. Swami Dipankar aspires to inspire over 10 people to commit to this noble cause by November 23, 2023, during the culmination of his transformative yatra.

On November 23, 2022, Swami Dipankar commenced his journey to western Uttar Pradesh with the noble mission of combating casteism and drug addiction. As of November 23, 2023, he has traversed approximately 14-15 districts out of a total of 26 districts in the region. However, with the onset of panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh, Swami Dipankar temporarily redirected his travels to Uttarakhand and Delhi due to the enforcement of the electoral code of conduct. During this period, he visited multiple districts in Uttarakhand and 8 to 10 districts in Delhi.

When asked if the purpose of this Yatra is to make India a Hindu nation – like Dhirendra Shastri often asserts – Swami Dipankar said, “You become a Hindu in the first place. Once you become a Hindu, you need not ask for a Hindu nation.” He said that his Bhiksha Yatra is getting a lot of support from the local people as well as saints and seers.

When asked about working together with Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham for the demand of Hindu Rashtra, Swami Dipankar said, “The upcoming time will only tell this. I think that every person decides his own destiny. Every sannyasi has his own duty and the sannyasi should perform his duty on his own. I have never been apart from anyone.”

Swami Dipankar told OpIndia that the main purpose of this yatra is to unite the Sanatan Hindu people as one community who are unfortunately divided into castes at present. He said that Hindus must be made aware that they should not be divided into castes and remain Hindus only. He said that the great resolve of the people to be united as Hindus alone is the essence of this journey.

Talking about the success of the yatra, Swami Dipankar said, “Now I see a spark in people. Earlier, people used to write Jat, Gujjar, Brahmin, and Baniya written on the back of their cars, but now Hindu is written. It has become common to see the word Hindu written everywhere from a mobile phone cover to a wedding invitation card. It feels really nice to see that. By the time the yatra is over, it will bring even more positive results.”

‘Ganga Maiya has chosen me to serve people’: Vibhu Upadhyay, who performed Ganga Aarti at Kacchla Ghat regularly, clears NEET exam on his first attempt

It is said that hard work is the key to success. However, in the story of Vibhu Upadhyay, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district, hard work coupled with Maa Ganga’s blessings helped him clear the prestigious NEET 2023 exam on his first attempt. Vibhu Upadhyay scored 622 marks out of a total of 720. Vibhu stated that he has been performing Ganga Aarti on a regular basis since 2019 at the Kacchla Ghat and intends to continue doing so in the future.

“Ganga Maiya has chosen me to serve the people,” Vibhu remarked. I will never disappoint her. It is only through her blessings that I have reached this point in my life today. My parents and teachers have also contributed to my accomplishment. I’d also like to thank DK Singh, the former DM of my district, who initiated the Ganga Aarti programme in 2019.

Vibhu Upadhyay believes that such initiatives made it possible for youths like him to connect with Sanatan Dharma. The Hindu youngsters began to like doing aarti at the ghat, which drew them closer to their culture. Vibhu Upadhyay also complimented the traditional attire worn during the Ganga Aarti. He stated that Ganga Aarti kept his mind focused and calm. He used to devote one hour of his day to Aarti.

Speaking to ANI, Vibhu said that he wanted to continue his family tradition of becoming doctors. He started preparing for this when he was in 9th standard.

“Maybe that’s why it took me less time to clear the NEET exam. I got the blessings of Ganga Maa that I am going to become an MBBS doctor,” Vibhu said.

Taking to Twitter, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s office lauded Vibhu for his disciplined and cultured lifestyle and wished him for a bright future.

“This inspiring achievement is the result of a cultured and disciplined lifestyle. Hearty congratulations to Vibhu Upadhyay for this wonderful success and best wishes for a bright future! May the blessings of Maa Ganga always remain like this on him,” CM Yogi’s office tweeted.

Uttarakhand: Tamanna leads her Hindu friend to her brother Arman Ansari, forces her to convert to Islam and marry him

Uttarakhand is in unrest over the increasing incidents of love jihad. In such a situation, another case of pressuring a girl to convert and marry has come to light from the capital Dehradun. The accused is the brother of the victim girl’s friend. A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim.

A case has been filed in the Doiwala region of Dehradun regarding the alleged forced conversion and coerced marriage of a young woman. The individuals accused in the case are Armaan Ansari and his sister Tamanna. They have been charged under multiple sections, including the Uttarakhand Freedom of Religion Act.

The police have detained the accused Arman Ansari and are interrogating him. Station House Officer Rajesh Sah said that the sister and mother of the accused were also pressuring the victim to change her religion and get married. Both of them also forced the victim to have physical relations with the accused by saying that Islam is better.

The victim and a girl named Tamanna were classmates, which led to the development of their friendship. As a result, the victim started visiting Tamanna’s residence in Keshavpuri Basti. It was during this period that Tamanna introduced the victim to her brother, Arman Ansari, and they subsequently began interacting with each other.

According to the victim’s complaint, soon after their friendship began, Armaan Ansari started exerting pressure on her to engage in intimate relations. When the victim declined, he then began pressuring her to undergo religious conversion and marry him. The victim further stated that the accused was accompanied by his mother and sister during these incidents.

On the other hand, the police are conducting an investigation into the alleged case of religious conversion involving a Hindu youth in Bullawala, Doiwala. As part of their investigation, the police sent the mobile phone and laptop of the young man to the laboratory for examination. Given the youth’s unstable mental condition, he has been admitted to the hospital for necessary treatment. The police plan to conduct their interrogation once his health condition improves.

Violence continues during filing of nominations for panchayat polls in West Bengal, BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari says ‘this is an attempt to kill democracy by TMC’

For the fifth straight day, violence over the filing of nomination papers for the panchayat polls continued unabated in parts of Bengal. In South 24 Pargana, a mob attacked Police Personnel as well who received minor injuries and are undergoing treatment, Police said.

Several violent incidents have been taking place in various parts of West Bengal as the last day of nomination for panchayat elections draws closer, that is 15th of June. Reportedly, these incidents of violent clashes were reported in Daspur (Paschim Medinipur), Kakdwip (South 24 Parganas), Raninagar (Murshidabad), Saktinagar and Barshul (both in Purba Bardhaman) and Minakhan (North 24 Parganas).

However, in Canning, the mob didn’t even spare the Police personnel. A violent clash broke out near the BDO office in Canning in South 24 Pargana while several BJP and other opposition party leaders had arrived there to fill nomination papers for the Panchayat Elections to be held on the 8th of July.

Canning Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Dibakar Das said, “There was a clash between two groups. The mob attacked the Police as well. I was also injured. Some Policemen got minor injuries. 2 people were injured. They are undergoing treatment at the hospital and are currently stable. We have arrested 17-18 people. The incident is being investigated.”

BJP accuses TMC of ‘killing democracy’

BJP leader and LoP Suvendu Adhikari have been vehemently opposing the Trinamool Congress for using violent means to threaten and kill opposition leaders to win panchayat seats unopposed.

Both on the digital platform and on the ground, he opened fronts against the TMC. Taking to Twitter, he shared the ordeal of Journalists who have to face the wrath of the ruling TMC party and its backed goons for reporting the true ground realities of Bengal Panchayat elections.

Adhikari made a strong assertion that TMC goons are indulging in acts of looting nomination papers and preventing candidates from filing their nomination papers in at least 50 blocks. He claimed that the TMC wants to secure uncontested victories for their party-supported candidates on over 20,000 seats.

Interacting with the media, Adhikari said, “This is an attempt to kill democracy, we will protest against this. We will end Mamata Banerjee’s jungle raj in West Bengal. We are fighting for democracy, and the people of the state will win. They say there is no sensitive booth in West Bengal and there is no need for Central forces here.”

Making sure that this prevailing situation changes, Adhikari, accompanied by other BJP leaders gathered the nominating members and broke open the barricades at State Election Commission Office in Kolkata.

He also submitted his written complaint to the State Election Commission (SEC) in which he stated that TMC goons are preventing BJP leaders from filing their nomination papers. He further requested the SEC to appoint Ast PRO for accepting their nomination papers.

BJP leaders have also alleged that SEC Rajiv Sinha is not taking necessary steps and not allowing Central Forces to take charge of election duty. Sinha had recently taken the charge of State Election Commissioner. Before that, he had served as Bengal’s Chief Secretary from September 2019 to September 2020.

Sukanta Majumdar said, “There are several blocks where candidates are not able to file nominations. State Election Commission is not working properly, they are not allowing Central Forces to take charge. If this continues, free and fair elections will not be conducted.”

A day earlier, Adhikari had highlighted that even the BDO offices are not safe for Opposition Candidates who are going there for filing Nominations. In a tweet, he claimed that the people of West Bengal are watching in horror, how the Opposition candidates are being forcefully prevented by the TMC goons from filing nomination papers.

Recent incidences of violence

Political violence has become a norm in Bengal and many incidences don’t even make it to the news, more so because of the fear of the ruling state dispensation.

However, just a day earlier, a CPI (M) party office was “vandalised” at Minakhan in the Basirhat subdivision, and the candidate was “assaulted”. Similarly, supporters of the Indian Secular Front (ISF) and TMC clashed in the Bhangore area of South 24 Parganas, which is nearly 30 km away from the state capital. In another such incident, BJP MLA Dibakar Gharami was reported attacked by unidentified miscreants at Sonamukhi in Bankura district, allegedly to stop him from filing nomination papers.

Following the widespread incidents of violence and political clashes, the state election commission (SEC) had asked all District Magistrates (DM) and Superintendents of Police (SP) to implement Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code within a 1-kilometre radius of all nomination centres throughout the state. However, as clear from reports, this seems to have no effect on the anti-social elements and political clashes, allegedly backed by the TMC.

High Court had asked to deploy Central forces

Earlier, the Calcutta High Court had conducted an urgent hearing on two PILS submitted before the court. One PIL each was filled by Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari regarding fair elections and safety during polls.

On Tuesday, 13th of June, the double bench of Calcutta High Court ordered the requisition and deployment of central forces in all areas designated as sensitive by the State Election Commission (SEC) for the elections. The court had also asked installation of CCTV cameras at every booth and corner of the counting centres across the state. However, the court left many things at the discretion of the State Election Commission (SEC) like whether to extend the date of nomination or not.

Maharashtra: Principal of a college in Malegaon suspended for starting career guidance event with Islamic prayer, FIR filed

The principal of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad Arts, Science and Commerce College in Malegaon of Maharashtra has been suspended and booked by the police following a so-called career guidance seminar that began with a brief Islamic prayer. The college, which is managed by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former BJP MLC Dr Apoorva Hiray, organised the event in collaboration with the local organisation Satya Malik Lok Sewa Group. The so-called seminar aimed to provide information about opportunities in the defence sector and featured guest speaker Anees Kutty from the Anees Defence Career Institute in Pune.

However, the members of the Hindu community and organisations protested against the event, claiming that students were being influenced to convert to Islam. Following the protests, an FIR was filed by the police against the principal. Maharashtra’s Ports Development and Mining Department Minister, Dada Bhuse, also demanded action against those responsible for the seminar.

The principal has been accused of trying to attract students towards Islam under the guise of a career guidance seminar in the college.

Dr Subhash Nikam, the now-suspended principal, said, “The programme started off with the recitation of a small Islamic prayer wherein the speaker addressed the students. Towards the end of the event, a large number of people entered the hall claiming that the event was an attempt to propagate Islam.”

Nikam claimed that the event started with the Arabic prayer because that is how most events begin at the organisation.

It is notable that Malegaon in the Nashik district of Maharashtra is known to have a significant Muslim population. The city is considered to be one of the most communally sensitive cities in the state.

Law Commission seeks views on Uniform Civil Code from public and religious organizations, to be submitted within 30 days

Amid a raging debate on the need to introduce uniform laws for every citizen of the country, the Law Commission of India has solicited the views and ideas of the public and recognised religious organizations to examine the Uniform Civil Code, officials said on Wednesday.

The Law Commission has given 30 days to the respondents to present their views. The 22nd Law Commission of India is among other things examining the Uniform Civil Code on a reference sent by the Ministry of Law & Justice, they said.

Initially, the 21st Law Commission examined the subject of the Uniform Civil Code, soliciting the views of all the stakeholders through its appeal along with a questionnaire dated 7.10.2016 and further public appeals/notices dated 19.03.2018, 27.03.2018 and 10.4.2018. It had been received an overwhelming response from the respondents.

An official said the 21st Law Commission issued the consultation paper on “Reforms of Family Law” on 31.08.2018.

“Since more than three years have lapsed from the date of issuance of the said Consultation Paper, bearing in mind the relevance and importance of the subject and also the various court orders on it, the 22nd Law Commission of India considered it expedient to deliberate afresh over the issue,” he said.

Accordingly, the 22nd Law Commission of India decided again to solicit the views and ideas of the public at large, as well as recognised religious organisations about the Uniform Civil Code.

“Those who are interested and willing may present their views within a period of 30 days from the date of Notice through the “click here” button or by email at membersecretary-lci[at]gov[dot] into the Law Commission of India,” the official added.

In May 2022, the Uttarakhand government formed a committee to examine its implementation in the state.

Earlier, in May, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the majority of work on drawing up the draft for the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been completed and the government-constituted committee will submit its proposals by June 30.

In October 2022, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi announced the formation of a committee for implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state.

However, some political leaders have spoken in favour of uniform laws for all communities in the country, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) termed it “an unconstitutional and anti-minorities move”, adding that the “rhetoric” on the UCC was nothing but an attempt by the governments of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, as well the central government to divert the public attention from concerns around inflation, economy and unemployment.

The Uniform Civil Code is a proposal to formulate and implement personal laws which will apply uniformly to all citizens regardless of their religion, gender, and sexual orientation.

The code comes under Article 44 of the Constitution, which stipulates that the state shall endeavour to secure a Uniform Civil Code for the citizens throughout the territory of India.

In the BJP’s 2019 Lok Sabha election manifesto, the party had promised the implementation of UCC if it came to power.

‘We were Yadavs in past, converted to Islam due to atrocities of feudal lords, Aurangzeb won our hearts with love’: Congress leader Furkan Ansari

In the course of spinning the leftist jihadi narrative, former Congress MP Furkan Ansari threw logic out of the window. He said that Indian Muslims were actually Yadavs (a Hindu caste considered to be Lord Krishna’s lineage) who converted due to atrocities meted out by feudalism.

According to the Congress leader, this conversion was not forced by Aurangzeb nor by the use of force, but it was love that won them over.

In a statement devoid of rationale, the former MP from Godda managed to contradict himself too. He said, “The converted Muslims, we Muslims who have converted, were Yadavs before. Our grandfathers, great-grandfathers were Yadavs, some were Mandals.”

Ansari adds, “The Madariya community are all Mandals. We (Muslims) have converted from Mandal, Mahto, and Yadavs. Why? Because of the atrocities by feudal lords, because of their atrocities. Aurangzeb has not converted us. This has not happened with the use of the sword. People won our hearts ethically and with love and we became Miyaan (Muslims).”

Furkan Ansari went on to say that their (Muslim) ancestors were tortured under Hinduism.

“Capitalists used to stop our forefathers from going to temples. The respect of our daughters-in-law was in danger. That’s why our great-grandfathers were forced to convert,” Ansari claimed.

In the process, unsurprisingly, Ansari also peddled fake news. “Under the Modi govt, after a Dalit President visited a mandir, five tankers of Gangajal was brought to clean the mandir.” Despite being exposed and fact-checked, this creatively woven web of lies continues to serve as the foundation for Hindu haters.

Babulal Maradi fact-checks Furkan Ansari

Former Jharkhand CM and leader of opposition Babulal Marandi took to Twitter to fact-check Furkan Ansari.

He wrote, “Furkan ji was earlier a Hindu ‘Yadav’. Then he became a Muslim ‘Ansari’ (weaver) when persecuted by feudal lords. Ashrafi feudal lords (Sheikh, Syed, Pathan) do not even like to sit and eat with the weavers. Furkan ji is trapped. Where will you go now?”

It must be pointed out that the Muslim community is divided into multiple layers of castes with two castes being the most dominant namely Ashraf (descendants of Arabs) and Ajlaf (local converts).

Controversy over Aurangzeb

Furkan Ansari’s attempt at scoring brownie points comes amid a heated controversy over Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. On June 5, objectionable slogans and posters of jihadi tyrant Aurangzeb were raised by 4 persons at Dam Bara Hazari Baba dargah in Fakirwada area of Ahmednagar.

Then, after messages were being made viral hailing the Mughal ruler, Hindu groups on June 7 conducted a peaceful march in Sangamner and Kolhapur against the same but were met with large-scale stone pelting, violence, and arson.

In a flimsy defence of Aurangzeb’s jihadi fanbase, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi talking about the posters had asked if the posters of the tyrant can even be authenticated.

In May 2022, his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi had paid respects to Aurangzeb at his tomb in Chhatrapati Shivajinagar

Earlier, NCP neta Jitendra Awhad too defended Aurangzeb saying that he was not a Hindu hater.

Here’s why shielding Aurangzeb is like rubbing salt in the wounds of Hindus and a blatant insult to the victims of his manic hatred for Hindus.

Madhya Pradesh: Muslim family issues death threats to their Hindu son-in-law to convert to Islam, girl seeks police protection

A Muslim girl, who married her Hindu boyfriend, has requested police protection following death threats from her family who is now coercing her husband to embrace Islam or else they would face dire consequences. The incident pertains to the Civil Lines area of Morena. Here, 21-year-old Naveen Shakya who is a local, married 20-year-old Farzana Bano from Mumbai after a relationship of three years. The couple met when Farzana had come to Morena to visit a relative.

They eventually made the decision to get married. Both families initially objected to the union. However, Naveen’s family members approved of it after a while, but Farzana’s family continued their opposition. They started to summon her back to Mumbai. As the pressure mounted, the pair planned to get married in a temple in May 2023.

Naveen’s friends joined the wedding as Baratis. Farzana started practising Hindu rituals after the marriage. Her father and brother called Naveen as soon as her family learned about the development and urged Naveen to convert to Islam and invited him to Mumbai for the same.

Farzana revealed, “My family is threatening us. I told my mother that I am happy but she is forcing me to return to Mumbai. She warned that you will only listen to us after we kill his maternal grandfather. We will also bribe the police. He will have to convert if you want to stay married.”

“They told me to become Muslim and stated that they will get us married. I responded that I cannot renounce my religion. They threatened that if I don’t visit them they will murder my maternal grandfather. He will not see the morning sun,” disclosed Naveen.

They declared that they would only accept the relationship if Naveen becomes a Muslim. In addition, a death threat was also issued if he does not abide by their demand. The accused threatened to kill him as well as his maternal grandfather if he refused to follow their diktat. Troubled by the grave threats, the husband and wife met with the Senior Superintended of Police (SSP) of Gwalior Rajesh Singh Chandel on June 12 to request for their safety.

According to Naveen, he will not change his religion in response to outside forces. “A couple has complained that the girl’s family members are constantly threatening to kill them. The woman’s application has been taken regarding this matter and will be sent to the concerned police station for further investigation,” the senior police official informed. He has instructed Morena Police to provide the duo with security. The matter is under investigation.
