“He came here at night”.. Rodewal Gurudwara cleric narrates sequence leading to Amritpal Singh’s arrest, read what happened

Hours before his arrest, ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh addressed the devotees this morning in Rodewal Gurudwara in Punjab’s Moga.

“Amritpal Singh came to the Rodewal Gurudwara on Saturday night. He himself informed the police about his presence and that he will surrender this morning at 7 am,” claimed Singh Sahib Giani Jasbir Singh Rode of Rodewal Gurudwara in Moga, while speaking to ANI over phone. Khalistan sympathiser and radical preacher Amritpal Singh who was absconding for over a month will be shifted to Dibrugarh, Assam, informed Punjab Police sources.

Amritpal has been on the run since March 18, the day Punjab Police launched a massive manhunt for him.

Papalpreet Singh, a close aide of Amritpal Singh, was taken to Assam’s Dibrugarh Central Jail on April 11 after he was arrested.

Associates of Amritpal Singh were shifted out of Punjab after Central Intelligence agencies raised concerns over possible jailbreak and repeat of the Ajnala incident on March 11.

Earlier on Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah when asked about Amritpal Singh’s arrest and that he has been absconding for a long, said, “It may happen sometime. Earlier he used to roam freely, but now he cannot carry on with his activities.”

Two more aides of ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh were arrested at Mohali in Punjab, in a joint operation by Punjab and Delhi Police on April 18.

On April 15, Punjab Police arrested his close aide Joga Singh from Sirhind in the Fatehgarh Sahib district.

The radical leader had been declared a “fugitive” while he was on a run earlier in March.

“Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh has been declared a fugitive. His two cars were seized and gunmen nabbed. We also checked if the firearms of his security escorts had been procured legally. A case has been registered. Punjab Police have launched a manhunt for Amritpal Singh and we are hopeful that he will be arrested soon. A total of 78 people have been arrested so far and further searches and raids are underway,” Chahal said in an exclusive interview with ANI.

The crackdown came almost over three weeks after Amritpal’s supporters stormed Ajnala police station in Amritsar on February 23, demanding the release of one of his aides, Lovepreet Toofan.

Amritpal Singh addressed congregation at Gurudwara before surrendering, here is what he said

On April 23, Punjab Police arrested pro-Khalistani separatist leader Amritpal Singh in Moga. He has been on the run since March 18, 2023, after state police and central agencies launched a massive crackdown on him. Before surrendering to the police, Amritpal Singh addressed a congregation at Khalsa Gurudwara in Rode, Punjab, the birthplace of Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. Last year in September, Amritpal Singh’s ‘dastarbandi’ was done at this Gurudwara.

Amritpal Singh said he was standing at an important point in his work for the community in his address. He pointed out that his dartarbandi was done at the same Gurudwara, and for the last month, he was fighting for the cause of the Sikh community. Claiming atrocities against the Sikh community by the government, he claimed he might be a criminal in the eyes of the law of the land, but he was innocent in the court of God.

He thanked his followers for the support and prayers and said he would not leave the land and fight the “false cases” filed against him by the government. He further claimed to continue “Khalsa Vahir”, the movement that he started under the banner of ‘Waris Punjab De’. He claimed the cases were filed against him because he was taking the state’s youth away from drugs. He urged his followers to get baptized and keep arms.

Singh was declared a fugitive by the Punjab Police last month. Several of his associates were arrested after the crackdown began, but he was on large for over a month. Some reports have suggested that Amritpal Singh has been taken to Dibrugarh, Assam. However, no confirmation has come from the Punjab Police. Four of his associates were also shifted to Assam for security reasons.

Firecrackers set off inside Martand Sun Temple in Kashmir on Eid

In the Martand Sun Temple in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, an incident of firecrackers being set off on Eid-ul-Fitr has been reported. On social media, the video of the incident is going viral wherein several boys can be seen bursting crackers. It is pertinent to recall that this is the same temple, now in ruins that was called a “devil’s cave” (Shaitan ki Gufa) in Vishal Bhardwaj’s film “Haider”. The ASI had also allowed the filmmakers to shoot the film there.

The youngsters can be seen jumping in the temple in the viral video. Several boys are also seen setting off fireworks in the background. One of the boys there is seen in white clothes and a cap on his head. It is apparent that the people who lit fireworks inside the temple are Muslims.

It is notable that the Martand Sun Temple is one of the few Sun Temples in the country. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has designated the temple as a protected monument. Furthermore, the Archaeological Department even objected to Hindus performing pooja in this temple in May of last year when Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha performed Navgrah Ashtamangalam Pooja at the temple. On the other hand, the ASI has not yet responded in any way to the event involving the Eid fireworks.

The ancient Martand Surya Temple in Kashmir

The temple is said to have been built in the 8th century, but attempts were made to destroy it several times between 1389 and 1413. It is believed that Hindu ruler Lalitaditya had built the Martand Surya Temple in honor of the Sun God or Bhaskar in the 8th century AD. Lalitaditya was a Surya (Sun) Dynasty Kshatriya. The temple’s style of construction and the expertise displayed in it was unprecedented in world history. The Vastu science of architecture has been employed, and the building is designed so that the Sun’s rays fall on the Surya idol throughout the day.

Though the cities, towns, and ruins of Lalitaditya’s era are not easily located, the remnants of the large Martand temple, which the emperor had built at the pilgrimage site of the same name, are an example of the expertise of the Kashmiri Hindu builders of ancient times.

Amritpal Singh arrested from Punjab’s Moga

In a major breakthrough amid the continuing manhunt, ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh was arrested by Punjab Police from the Moga district of Punjab, informed sources.

Saudi Arabia starts civilian evacuation from Sudan, announces safe arrival of own citizens and others including Indians at Jeddah port, USA says it can’t evacuate

On 22nd April 2023, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it will evacuate its own citizens as well as citizens of friendly countries from the Republic of Sudan. The evacuation started within hours of the announcements and the evacuated people are being taken to Jeddah on ships. 157 people, including an unspecified number of Indians, have already been evacuated. Sudan has been witnessing deadly fighting between the country’s army and a paramilitary group for the last seven days.

The evacuation of civilians was carried out by Saudi Arabia’s naval forces with the support of other branches of the army, the foreign ministry said.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed on Twitter that people evacuated from Sudan safely reached Jeddah. In the first batch that arrived in three ships, a total of 91 Saudi citizens, along with 66 nationals of other countries, including Indians. “In the implementation of the directives of the Kingdoms Leadership, we are pleased to announce the safe arrival of the citizens of the Kingdom who were evacuated from the Republic of Sudan as well as several nationals of brotherly and friendly countries, including diplomats and international officials, who arrived in an evacuation operation carried out by the Royal Saudi Naval Forces with the support of various branches of the armed forces,” the Saudi foreign ministry said.

The ministry informed that 66 citizens of Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Tunisia, Pakistan, India, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Canada, and Burkina Faso were evacuated along with Saudi nationals from Sudan. However, country-wise break up of evacuated citizens has not been disclosed so far. The evacuated people included diplomats and international officials. “The Kingdom worked to provide all the necessary needs of foreign nationals in preparation for their departure to their countries,” they added.

Earlier the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs had tweeted, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the start of the arrangement for the evacuation of Saudi citizens and several nationals of brotherly and friendly countries from the Republic of Sudan to the Kingdom.”

The decision was made “in the implementation of the directives” of King Salman of Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman “to oversee the care and wellbeing of Kingdom citizens in the Republic of Sudan,” the foreign ministry said.

Saudi nationals and others evacuated from Sudan arrived by sea in the port city of Jeddah in the first announced evacuation since fighting broke out. Saudi state television Al-Ekhbariyah said, “The first evacuation vessel from Sudan has arrived, carrying 50 [Saudi] citizens and a number of nationals from friendly countries.”

Al-Ekhbariyah posted a video of people who were evacuated from Sudan welcomed at Red Sea port in Jeddah after they deboarded the ship. The evacuees were received by officials and soldiers who distributed sweets on the occasion of Eid. Before that, the evacuees were taken by a convoy of vehicles to Port Sudan, where they boarded the ships.

Later they posted the video of the third evacuated ship from Sudan.

The top officer of the Sudanese army Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who is Sudan’s de facto leader, promised that his men would help evacuate diplomats and citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and France.

While Saudi Arabia has started evacuating people from Sudan, including citizens of other friendly nations, USA has said that it is unable to evacuate people now. According to the American Embassy, it was “not currently safe to undertake a U.S. government-coordinated evacuation of private U.S. citizens.”

In a tweet, the US embassy in Khartoum posted, “The U.S. Embassy in Khartoum continues to closely monitor the situation in Khartoum and surrounding areas, where there is ongoing fighting, gunfire, and security forces activity. There have also been reports of assaults, home invasions, and looting. U.S. citizens are strongly advised to remain indoors, shelter in place until further notice, and avoid travel to the U.S. embassy.  The U.S. embassy remains under a shelter-in-place order and cannot provide emergency consular services.”

The US embassy further said, “Due to the uncertain security situation in Khartoum and the closure of the airport, it is not currently safe to undertake a U.S. government-coordinated evacuation of private U.S. citizens. There is incomplete information about significant convoys departing Khartoum and travelling towards Port Sudan. The embassy is unable to assist convoys. Travelling in any convoy is at your own risk.”

A spokesperson for the French Foreign Ministry stated that she was unable to confirm the departure of any diplomats or citizens of France. An official from the British Foreign Ministry made an identical remark.

The armed conflict between two groups in Sudan for control over the third-largest country in Africa started on April 15. The ensuing clashes have resulted in at least 3,500 injuries and 400 fatalities. They include 256 civilians killed and 1454 civilians injured.

There are 3000 Indians in Sudan. PM Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on Friday 21st April 2023 to review the security situation in Sudan. He told officials to prepare “contingency evacuation plans, accounting for the rapidly shifting security landscape and the viability of various options”.

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences on the passing away of an Indian national who tragically fell victim to a stray bullet last week. The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of maintaining close communication with neighbouring countries in the region, as well as those with significant numbers of citizens in Sudan.

Gujarat: One Shoaib Ibrahim Rawat lures a Hindu girl to marry and then forces her to convert, complaint registered

A Hindu girl from Bardoli in Gujarat accused her Muslim husband Shoaib Ibrahim Rawat of forcing her to convert and torturing her mentally and physically for it. A complaint was registered against Shoaib Ibrahim Rawat in this regard.

The Hindu girl fell in love with Shoaib Ibrahim Rawat while studying together in college. Later, he forced her to marry himself by luring, blackmailing and threatening her. In 2019, Shoaib took the girl to Surat and registered a marriage there without letting the girl know.

The girl was not happy with her husband. After getting married, Shoaib regularly forced the girl to leave Hinduism and convert to Islam. The girl did not have parents and lived with her relatives before getting married. In the initial days of her married life, the girl continued to endure this torture.

But Shoaib Ibrahim Rawat did not stop the torture. The girl then filed a complaint against him at the Bardoli police station. The Brdoli police are taking further action based on her complaint.

Zeeshanuddin of Vadodara barged into a Hindu girl’s home to threaten her

In another incident that took place in Vadodara, one Zeeshanuddin Shaikh entered the house of a Hindu girl and threatened to kill her and her fiance. The 21-year-old girl, a resident of Tarsali, has lodged a police complaint alleging that Zeeshanuddin Shaikh and his friends forcibly barged into her house and threatened to kill her for not talking to him on the phone. He also threatened that he will kill her fiance. Police have initiated further action after the victim lodged a complaint about the incident.

When the matter came to the notice of local Hindu organisations, they also reached out to help the victim’s family. While speaking to OpIndia, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Tarsali division minister Saikumar Pillai said, “The love jihad angle cannot be ruled out in this case. The way the accused entered the victim’s house fearlessly and the way he threatened her, reflects his mentality.”

After rumours of Satya Pal Malik’s arrest on social media, Delhi police say he went to the police station on his own

Rumours of the arrest of the former governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik spread on social media on Saturday, 22nd April 22023. Satya Pal Malik’s arrest started trending on social media as he visited the RK Pram police station in Delhi. However, the Delhi police have tweeted and clarified that he is not arrested.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik reached the RK Puram police station in Delhi today with his supporters. After this, farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni tweeted that he and Satya Pal Malik have been arrested along with all the supporters in RK Puram, Delhi. The news soon went viral on social media.

In the video, Gurnam Singh Charuni said, “Hello friends. As I posted yesterday, honourable former governor Satya Pal Malik Saheb recently gave some statements and constantly speaks in favour of farmers, and he may get a punishment for that looking at the current politics of the BJP. I had just expressed a suspicion. But immediately after that, he received a summons from the CBI and he was called for the investigations. He was invited to a program by the local Khap Pradhan but the police cancelled that program abruptly and they arrested him, me, and the chief of the Khap. Right now we are n the Vasant Kunj police station and honourable former governor Saheb is in the RK Puram police station. We are receiving so many phone calls from our people regarding holding protests and roadblocks. But I request them all to stop for now. We will see what happens and fix our next programs accordingly and will convey that to you.”

After this, the Delhi Police issued a statement saying that they have not detained former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik. Delhi Police tweeted, “False information is being spread on social media handles regarding the detention of Sh. Satyapal Malik, Ex. Gov. Whereas, he himself has arrived at Police Station R K Puram along with his supporters. He has been informed that he is at liberty to leave at his own will.”

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Manoj C said, “Malik, along with his supporters, had come to the RK Puram police station of his own free will. We have told him that he can leave.” Another official said, “A meeting was to be held at an MCD park in RK Puram. Malik was scheduled to attend the meeting. Malik was told that this was not the place to hold a meeting. For this, he had taken permission from the concerned authorities. Malik and his supporters then left. Later, the former governor himself reached the police station. We didn’t call them.”

However, 24 people were detained by the police for erecting a tent at a public park in RK Puram without informing the police. Sagar Preet Hooda, Special CP, Law & Order (Zone II) of Delhi Police, said that Satya Pal Malik was neither arrested nor detained by Delhi Police. He said that Malik visited RK Puram police station on his own and stayed there for 2 hours, and they left the police station at around 3 pm.

Reportedly, he visited the police station after the police objected to the unauthorised at the park. The police told him that they were not allowed to hold any meeting without permission in a residential area.

In a phone call with The New Indian, Satya Pal Malik said that he had offered the police to arrest him, but the police declined to do that. He said that lots of people had gathered at his house, and due to the lack of space, he brought them to the park in RK Puram to serve them food. But police said that it was not allowed, after which they offered arrest.

It is notable that on Friday, April 21, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) summoned the former governor of Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik to appear before it for further examination and answer questions related to the Reliance insurance case in the Union Territory. Malik has been asked to appear before the agency on April 27 and April 28.

He will be questioned on the allegation that employees of Jammu and Kashmir were forced to buy insurance schemes from Reliance Insurance, which had led to the cancellation of the group medical insurance proposal. Satya Pal had alleged that BJP was forcing the scheme on the employees, and Ram Madhav had offered him Rs 300 crore in bribe to clear two files related to it, for which Ram Madhav has filed a defamation case against him.

Banks in Shirdi refuse to accept coins worth lakhs from Saibaba Temple as they have run out of space, temple to seek RBI intervention

0

The Shirdi Saibaba Temple’s coins worth lakhs have been rejected by four banks in Maharashtra as they have run out of space to keep them, and now the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust (SSST) is currently experiencing a severe “space crunch” as coins given by devotees keep accumulating daily.

According to the reports, the temple receives monthly offerings totalling Rs 28 lakh in coins, which are put into its bank accounts in the city. The Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust maintains accounts with 13 state-owned bank branches. The majority of them are in Shirdi, but one is in Nashik. Four of these banks have said that they can no longer accept coins from the bank as they have no more space to keep them.

Every month, a different member of staff from each bank where the trust has an account goes to the temple to collect donations and deposits. Coins from the SSST totalling around Rs 11 crore have already been deposited in these banks, leaving no room for more coins.

“Officials of these four banks said they have no space to keep the coins they get every day. This is a big problem for the trust,” said Rahul Jadhav, the CEO of the trust.

The trust intends to write the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) directly to request their assistance in the case. In addition to these four banks, others have asked the trust to fix the problem since they are also running out of space.

“Simultaneously, we have decided to approach banks in other parts of Ahmednagar district, as well as the state, to help us. We will open accounts of the trust in such banks, so that coins can be deposited there,” Jadhav added.

With the Covid pandemic’s hold fading, the temple’s currency issue has reemerged. Over 50,000 people visit the shrine every day on average, and coins have started to accumulate. In addition to the four banks that have ceased collecting coins, some of the remaining institutions have asked the trust to find a solution to this issue since they too are running out of room.

One of the senior bank officials who hosts one of the Trust’s accounts said that his bank has coins amounting to about Rs 1.6 crore. “Another bank in Shirdi has coins worth Rs 3 crore. In one of the banks, the coin bags are kept outside the strongroom since the room is completely stacked with coin bags,” he added.

Banks had brought up the problem of a space shortage with the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust in 2019 also. They said that the space at their branches has been used for coin bag storage. Back then, the trust provided coin storage facilities for the banks in the premises of the temple. However, the offer was turned down since such an arrangement is against the law.

With over four million followers Uorfi Javed is one of the most popular social media celebrities in India. She was a part of multiple TV serials like Meri Durga, Bepannaah, Jiji Maa, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Aye Mere Humsafar. She was also seen in Bigg Boss OTT (Season 1). She last appeared on MTV Splitsvilla (Season 14) as a guest contestant.

Earlier this month, the actress revealed how her family, notably her father, disparaged and physically tormented her until she ran away from home at the young age of 17. In another interview in 2021, she disclosed that she did not practise Islam and would never marry a Muslim.
