Social media users outrage over a poster of a Muslim shrine inside Barabanki police station: Here’s the complete truth

Outrage swept social media websites after a small clip of a larger video from the Barabanki police station had gone viral on the internet.

In the clip, newly appointed Barabanki SP Anurag Vats was seen interacting with the media. But what caught the attention of social media users was not what Vats said but the poster that was stuck on the wall behind the SP.

The poster that was seen in the clip bore what appeared a Muslim shrine, triggering social media users to question if pictures of religious places were allowed to be put up on walls in police stations and other govt offices.

Following the outrage, Barabanki police also took cognisance of the online furore.

Some other users said had there been a photo of Lord Ram on the wall instead of a mosque, the secular and the leftist gang would have wasted no time in targeting the SP and launching a social media campaign against him.

As Barabanki police find themselves in the midst of a social media controversy, it is worth exploring whether there is indeed a poster behind the chair of Barabanki SP and if there is, what is the significance of it.

Deva Sharif of Barabanki, Parijat Tree and Lodheshwar Temple

The picture on the wall as seen in the video clips that are doing the rounds on social media is of Deva Sharif, situated at a distance of 42 kms from Lucknow and 12 kms from Barabanki. It is the birthplace of Haji Waris Ali Shah. He died on 7 April 1905 and a building was built at the place as a mark of tribute Haji Waris Ali Shah, the Deva Sharif.

In addition to Shah’s shrine, the poster bears pictures of two other places. However, those who were outraged over the clip on social media perhaps did not see the entire video of Barabanki SP’s interaction with the media. In the extended video, it could be seen that a picture of a tree is seen to the left of Haji Ali Shah’s shrine. The picture is of Parijat tree and it bears religious significance. There is a village, Kintoor, 38 km from Barabanki. The village is named after Kunti, the mother of Pandavas. There have been many ancient temples and ruins of others there. One of these temples was built by Kunti. There is this Parijat tree near this temple.

Furthermore, there is also a picture of a temple in the poster. At the start of the video, one can see a red and white structure to the left of the Parijat tree. This is a photo of the mythological Shiva temple Lodheshwar temple located in Ramnagar tehsil of Barabanki itself. It is believed that this temple dates back to the Mahabharata period.

This entire information is available on the website of Barabanki district – in the tourism section. In essence, the poster that triggered outrage does not have religious connotations but is meant to promote tourism in and around Barabanki. Therefore, it can be concluded that Barabanki police station has a poster meant to promote tourism in the area, perhaps published by the tourism department. However, people on social media often do not verify claims before sharing them and expressing their outrage over it. Unfortunately, even the Barabanki Police Department fell victim to the social media outrage and launched an investigation without first verifying the claims.

Cameraman who had worked with CNN, ABC, NBC arrested for threatening to kill Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz and his kids

Copy of the indictment

A California man who had worked as a cameraman for several major networks was arrested last week for threatening to kill Republican congressman Matt Gaetz. The Emmy-award nominated cameraman Eugene Huelsman had worked with CNN, ABC and NBC, and had also worked on the sets of Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

Reportedly, Eugene Huelsman had threatened the congressman days after the riots at Capitol Hills in January this year. Three days after the riots, he had allegedly called the office of Matt Gaetz threatening that he will shoot the Republican. Gaetz was one of the prominent Republicans who had supported Donald Trump in allegations of mass-scale voter fraud in the presidential elections.

According to charges filed against him, Huelsman told the staff of Gaetz on January 9 over phone, “Tell Matt Gaetz to watch his back, tell him to watch his children, tell him to watch everyone. I’m coming for him. I’m going to f—ing kill him. He’s a f—ing despicable f—ing tyrant and I’m going to f—ing kill him. I’m coming for you. I am going put a bullet in you and I’m going to put a bullet in one of your f—ing kids too. I hate you.” His threats on the phone were recorded, which can be heard in the Fox News clip Tweeted by Matt Gaetz given below, but still, it took months to arrest him.

Eugene Huelsman was indicted for threatening to kill Matt Gaetz and his kids by a federal grand jury give months ago in May, but he was arrested only recently, after which his identity was revealed.

According to his profile on IMDB, Huelsman has done camerawork for several shows, TV series, and award shows, including Saturday Night Live, Late Night With Conan O’Brien, the Ellen DeGeneres Show. He has almost 30 years of experience in television and film production.

Gaetz said that Eugene Huelsman was arrested after he talked about inaction by the administration over threats to him. “An indictment was issued in May, and has now been unsealed the week after my criticism,” he said. Matt Gaetz further added, “If they took our security seriously, they would arrest all of the people who violate federal law and the threats to kill us, not just some of them … I think that the Department of Justice is biased against Republicans.”

The arrest was made days after Gaetz had said that his life was in danger. “I think someone may be trying to kill me and if they are successful I would like my constituents and my family to know who stopped their arrest,” Gaetz had said last Wednesday in a speech in the House of Representative. He had added that a hitman who had threatened him on Twitter had travelled to Washington D.C. recently to target him, and said that the Justice Department declined to arrest the suspect despite the Capitol Police recommending such an arrest.

On October 8, a Twitter user with the handle @CIABOBISATYOURDOOR had threatened the Republican congressman saying, “Lookie here pal. I lived in Portland. Portland has ordered a hit on you. I accepted the contract. Have a good day.” The user had posted another tweet saying, “I am going to wipe you off the surface of the earth. Have a good day.”

Gaetz said that following the threatening tweets, the individual had travelled to Washington D.C., and the Capitol Police recommended his arrest, but the DOJ refused to do so.

France shuts down Allonnes mosque and Islamic school for harbouring ‘radical Islam’ and promoting ‘armed jihad’, plans to close 7 more

France government has ordered the closure of a mosque in Allonnes near Le Mans for harbouring ‘radical Islam’ and ‘legitimising terrorist attacks’. Interior minister Gerald Darmanin said that the managers and imams at the mosque allowed actions that run counter to the ‘values of the Republic’.

The mosque has been shut down for six months, Darmanin said, adding that the bank accounts of the mosque’s administrators were also seized.

The charges against the mosque include inciting hatred towards France, Westerners, Christians, and Jews. “The sermons propagated in this mosque cultivating hatred toward France,” Darmanin wrote on Twitter, defending the closure. The administration said that apart from hatred and discrimination”, the mosque also promoted “the establishment of sharia” in France.

Along with the mosque, a Quranic school hosted by it also has been closed, saying that “armed jihad” was promoted in the school. A pasted sign on the door of the school said on Wednesday that the classes were “suspended until further notice.”

The French Interior Minister also added that plans are underway to shut down seven more associations or religious buildings by the end of the year. The minister also informed about the closure of 13 religious associations since President Emmanuel Macron took office in Elysee Palace.

The Sarthe Governorate on Oct. 25 released a statement saying that the mosque with a congregation of 300 people in Allonnes was closed for six months on the grounds that it “defended radical Islam.” The purge was part of a campaign that has been criticized worldwide by international human rights organizations as well as global leaders, particularly in Muslim-majority countries.

President Emmanuel Macron launches sweeping measures to tackle the menace of Islamist separatism

The purge is a part of a campaign launched by France to combat the menace of Islamism that is steadily increasing in the country and whose ugly manifestation was witnessed last year in the form of the brutal killing of a French teacher for reportedly reproducing pictures of Prophet Muhammad.

Samuel Paty, a school teacher, was publicly beheaded by a radical Islamist for showing a caricature of Prophet Muhammad to his students. He was beheaded by a Russian refugee Abdoullakh Abouyezidovitch who was inspired by an online campaign that was run against Paty for alleged blasphemy.

The incident had sparked a nationwide reckoning about the threats posed by the prevalence of Islamism and institutions that played vital role in supporting and promoting it. French President Emmanuel Macron decided to grasp the nettle and announced that his government would take measures to curb what he described as Islamist separatism.

92 of the total 2,500 mosques were closed down as a part of the French government’s clampdown against Islamic extremism since September 2020. The residence permits of 36,000 foreigners were been canceled on the grounds that they posed a threat to public order.

French government passes anti-separatism bill to curb rising Islamism

The French government had earlier this year also passed the “anti-separatism” law that was assumed to counter the menace of Islamist-driven attacks. The bill contained a range of measures on the neutrality of the civil service, the fight against online hatred and the protection of civil servants such as teachers.

A provision of the law introduced an offence for wilfully endangering the life of others through spreading information about a person’s private life. It carried punishments of up to three years in jail and a €45,000 fine.

Another prominent measure in the bill said associations will have to be signatories of a republican commitment contract to qualify for state subsidies.

The law granted sweeping powers to the authorities to intervene in mosques and associations on administration related queries as well as in matters related to finances of associations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

‘Damad Prem’ in Maharashtra: Minister Nawab Malik’s personal attacks against NCB officer who arrested his son-in-law are now beyond creepy

Until now, ‘Damad Prem’ or love for the son-in-law in a political context called to mind the obsequious deference of the Congress party to Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of the party’s interim president Sonia Gandhi.

Just as Sonia Gandhi is heralded as ‘mother of the nation’ by Congress workers and leaders, her son-in-law Robert is regarded as the national son-in-law by slavish Congress supporters.

Vadra, for his part, has not managed to evade the public glare. He continues to remain an integral part of political discourse owing to the numerous controversies he is embroiled in, and also because of the Congress party’s penchant for characterising him as a perpetual victim of political vendetta.

Allegations of wrongdoing or corruption against Vadra is invariably branded by the Congress party as an attempt to malign the reputation of the Gandhi family. Scores of Congress leaders and supporters rush to the defence of Vadra, alleging that he is targeted for being the son-in-law of the Gandhis.

Nawab Malik’s leads a spirited attack against Sameer Wankhede, NCB officer responsible for arresting his son-in-law in a separate drugs case

However, NCP leader and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik has taken this love for one’s son-in-law to an altogether different level. While Robert Vadra has no relevance with the ongoing probe into the drugs case, the obsession exhibited by Nawab Malik in getting his his son-in-law extricated from a drug case is comparable to the alacrity displayed by the Congress party and its supporters in taking up the cudgel for the Gandhi family’s son-in-law Robert Vadra.

In his efforts to cast aspersions on the integrity of Mumbai NCB’s Zonal director Sameer Wankhede, Malik has arguably gone beyond the usual political gimmicks. He has been frighteningly creepy about the officer’s personal life, sharing details of his private life that evidently have little connection with the drugs probe underway. Apparently, by hurling sundry allegations at Wankhede, Malik is hoping that some of them might stick and be responsible for his undoing.

Interestingly, Malik’s unhealthy interest in bringing the NCB officer down stems from the fact that it was Wankhede who had arrested his son-in-law Sameer Khan in a separate drugs case earlier in January 2021.

NCB had arrested Nawab Malik’s son-in-law after it found an online monetary transaction between Khan and one of the accused in a probe into the Bollywood-drug nexus. The transaction took place on Google Pay between Sameer Khan and Karan Sajnani, which the NCB believes was a payment for drug purchase. Accordingly, he was issued summons to appear before the NCB. After detailed questioning, the NCB had decided to put him under arrest. Khan had managed to get bail on September 27, after spending 8 months in jail.

While Khan is currently out on bail, he is still one of the accused in the drugs case. Therefore, it cannot be denied that Malik has a strong motive to lead a spirited campaign against Sameer Wankhede and NCB, perhaps in an attempt to weaken the case against his son-in-law and pave the way for his exoneration.

Malik goes frighteningly creepy as he steps up his campaign against Sameer Wankhede

As a part of his campaign against Sameer Wankhede, Malik today took to Twitter to share the picture of NCB officer Sameer Wankhede along with a woman whom he identified as Dr Shabana Qureshi, Wankhede’s first wife. Keeping aside the possibility of the fact that Malik may not have sought Ms Qureshi’s permission before sharing her pictures on social media, the post nonetheless illustrates Malik’s willingness to go to any extent to mount an attack against the NCB officer.

Malik had also shared a document which he claimed was the ‘Nikah Nama’ of Sameer Wankhede and Dr Shabana Qureshi. Once again, in what appears as his relentless pursuit to undermine the drugs case filed against his son-in-law, Malik showed little regard to individual privacy and shared a private document such as ‘Nikah Nama’ in public.

The NCP leader had earlier a picture of Sameer Wankhede and remarked “guess who”. Later, a journalist shared another picture and alleged that Ms Qureshi is Sameer Wankhede’s first wife, whom he reportedly married in 2006. By talking about his alleged first marriage, Malik wants to characterise Wankhede as a dishonest officer who has concealed details about his past.

Malik’s relentless attacks on Wankhede’s personal life and family had forced his wife Kranti Redkar to issue a statement, clarifying that Wankhede and his first wife had divorced in 2016 and after a while, the NCB officer had married her (Kranti). Redkar had also clarified that Wankhede’s father is Hindu but his mother was a Muslim. She added that there was no ‘confusion’ or no illegality in the officer’s personal life and the media should refrain from airing baseless assumptions against the family.

Today, Wankhede’s father had stated that Malik’s non-stop personal attacks against their family are putting the officer’s family in danger. He had also stated that Malik’s allegations against Sameer Wankhede are false.

Earlier yesterday, Malik shared a letter he claimed to have received from an unnamed NCB official. The letter said current Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana instructed Sameer Wankhede and KPS Malhotra to frame Bollywood artists through any means necessary. The letter claims after filing the fake cases, Malhotra and Wankhede extorted crores of rupees and provided Asthana his share as well.

The letter also alleged that Wankhede used a lawyer as a middleman to collect funds and that he has a team of trusted aides that help in planting evidence against his quarry. It says money and jewellery seized during raids is used for purchasing drugs to plant as evidence.

Anyone who refuses to follow Wankhede’s directives, the letter said, is sidelined and replaced by more docile officers. The letter claimed Arbaz Merchant’s friend Abdul had no drugs but the NCB planted it to have him arrested. The letter shared by Malik also cites various instances where people were allegedly framed by the NCB.

Intriguingly, the letter shared by Malik also asserted that his son-in-law Sameer Khan was framed in a ‘fake’ drugs case by the NCB. The letter said NCB falsely reported 200 Kgs of tobacco as cannabis to file a case against Sameer Khan and arrest him.

A day before posting the letter whose authenticity is under scanner, Malik had shared a document related to Sameer Wankhede’s birth to contend that he was a Muslim by birth and had forged documents to show himself from Scheduled Caste, to take benefit of reservation and enter the Indian Revenue Services in 2008.

NCB recovers drugs from cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai

After the raid on the cruise Ship rave party, NCB seized a huge amount of narcotics and detained 10 people. The ship was supposedly going from Mumbai to Goa. According to reports, every person present in that party had paid a entry fee of more than 80 thousand rupees. As per sources, Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede and other NCB officials acted on an intelligence input and boarded the ship as normal passengers and carried out the operation.

Following the raid, there have been allegations that Wankhede is selectively targeting Aryan Khan. However, he said in a statement, “We are not targeting anyone at all. We have nothing against him. We have arrested more than 300 people in the last 10 months. Out of those, at the most, there would be about 4 to 5 known people. How can you say that we are targeting anyone? Most of those arrested in the last one year are hard-core, drug related criminals.”

NIA court convicts nine Indian Mujahideen operatives for bombing Narendra Modi’s Patna rally in 2013

0

Exactly eight years after ‘Indian Mujahideen’ terrorists made a failed attempt to assassinate BJP’s Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi during the Patna rally on October 27 2013, a special court of National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Patna convicted nine out of 10 accused today (October 27, 2021).

According to reports, the judge Gurwinder Singh Malhotra heading the NIA court convicted Haider Ali alias Black Beauty, Noman Ansari, Mohammed Mujibullah Ansari, Mohammed Imtiaz Alam, Ahmed Hussain, Mohammed Firoze Aslam, Imtiaz Ansari, Mohammed Iftiqar Alam and Azharuddin Qureshi of the banned terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen (IM). One Fakruddin was not convicted due to a lack of evidence. The court posted the case for hearing on November 1 when the quantum of punishment will be pronounced.

During the Hunkar rally of Narendra Modi organized at Gandhi Maidan ground in October 2013, Indian Mujahideen had executed a plan to eliminate Modi. The jam-packed ground was rocked by six powerful explosions ahead of the arrival of Modi. Six people were killed and around 83 were injured in the attack. But despite the terror attack, Modi had addressed a rally attended by a three-plus lakh pulsating crowd.

One more powerful explosion had taken place inside a toilet of platform number 10 of Patna railway station, leading to the death of a key suspect 25 years old Tariq Ansari alias Enul. The deceased was among many recruits of Indian Mujahideen who had travelled from Ranchi to Patna along with explosives to eliminate Modi. Even a minor boy from Ranchi who was aged around 15 years six months and three days on the day of the occurrence, had accompanied them. This minor accused was punished with three years of imprisonment in 2017 by a Juvenile Justice Board. A child bomber in terror matrix had left security agencies worried since two decades after the Mumbai blast a minor was found involved in alleged terrorist activities.

On November 6, 2013, the Lucknow branch of the NIA took over the investigation. The probe revealed Indian Muhaideen had set up its modules in Ranchi.

Convict Haider Ali is a native of Aurangabad district of Bihar but he is settled in Ranchi. His associate was Tahseen Akhtar alias Monu of Samastipur in Bihar. Both had recruited Mujibullah Ansari, Imtiaz Alam, Noman Ansari and others of Sithio village of Ranchi which was known as the Sithio module. The presence of other modules of Indian Muhaideen was also found.

After the blasts, all of a sudden the spotlight turned on Ranchi being the hub of bugs of Indian Mujahideen. Nevertheless, security agencies had red-flagged in advance about Ranchi and other districts of Jharkhand turning into recruitment ground of terror outfits. NIA raids recovered as many as 18 live bombs, six timers, over 20 detonators and others from the paddy fields in Sithio. Similarly, nine bombs fitted with timers were found from a room in a private students’ hostel, Iram Lodge located in minority populated Hindpiri locality in Ranchi. Watches of Lotus Company were found from the possession of the accused and it was no coincidence that even July 2013 Bodhgaya blast case, Lotus company watches were used for the timer.

Investigation revealed that the Bodhgaya blast was executed by the same group. Patna blast probably remained one of the complicated cases the NIA investigated so far. It got interlined with Bodhgaya and the nationwide terror module of Indian Mujahideen.

Clashes erupt between Hindus and Muslims in Tripura after protests against attack on Hindus in Bangladesh: Read details

Prohibitory orders have been issued under section 144 in Dharmanagar sub-division in North Tripura district and Kailashahar sub-divisions in Unokoti district in Tripura following incidents of communal tension. An order issued by Dharmanagar Sub-divisional magistrate says that there is a strong apprehension of breach of peace and tranquillity in the area, necessitating the need to impose prohibitions on public gatherings, processions, sloganeering, rally, public speeches etc.

The restrictions have been imposed by the administrations after large gatherings of Hindu and Muslim groups in the aftermath of communal attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Sporadic violence took place at various places in the region by both sides on Tuesday.

According to reports, the series of incidents started in Rowa in Panisagar subdivision of Dharmanagar district where a mosque was attacked by some people participating in a protest rally led by VHP. The rally demanding protection of minority Hindus in Bangladesh led by VHP leader Purna Chandra Mandal had turned violent when the procession reached Rowa village and they spotted a mosque there.

The mob then vandalised and torched several shops in the Rowa market owned by Muslims. The protesters also allegedly tried to vandalise the mosque and also tried to set it on fire, but they were stopped by local Muslims who had gathered there.

Reacting to the violence in the protest rally by the Hindus, around a thousand Muslims came out on the street in Kadamtala area. This time, the Muslim mob attacked houses, shops and vehicles belonging to Hindus. In videos posted on social media, the Muslim mob can be marching onto the streets with sticks in hand. According to social media claims, Hindus also tried to attack the Kadamtala Bazar masjid, but around 5000 Muslims had gathered to protect the mosque. Reportedly, later at around 11 PM, thousands of Muslims came out to protest against the alleged attacks by Hindus.

After the attack on Hindus in Kadamtala by Muslims, Hindus resorted to counter-attack at the nearby Churaibari area. Several vehicles coming from Assam were attacked at night on National Highway during the violence.

On the other hand, as the reports of the attack on a mosque in Rowa spread in the state, more places reported protests rallied by Muslims. A large number of Muslims gheraoed the Irani police station of Kailashahar late Tuesday night seeking the security of Muslims in Tripura. They alleged that no action have been taken against the Hindus despite attacks on Muslims by a section of Hindus.

As a result of the sensitive situation, the Tripura govt has imposed prohibitory orders in the concerned areas. The govt has also brought the matter to the notice of Assam govt to maintain peace and tranquillity.

Shoaib Akhtar removes mic mid show, ‘quits’ PTV on air after host cuts him off a few times, calls him ‘rude’, watch

Pakistan former cricketer Shoaib Akhtar lost his cool and ‘quit’ PTV show on T20 Cricket World Cup after disagreement with the show host Nauman Niaz after the latter cut him off a few times and even called him rude.

The show was being hosted after the Pakistan vs New Zealand match where Pakistan won.

Akhtar was discussing Pakistani players’ performance against New Zealand and was asked whether the players made a mess in the chase against New Zealand. Akhtar, however, did not agree with the assessment and discussed other players like Haris Rauf and heap praises on Lahore Qalandar, Pakistan Super League franchise coach Aaqib.

At one point, Niaz lost his cool after Shoaib taunted over players and asked Shoaib to leave the show ‘if he is being over-smart’ instead as he was being rude. When Shoaib tried to respond, Niaz again cut him off and announced commercial break even when a visibly angry Akhtar was speaking.

After the break, Niaz asked Shoaib to finish what he had begun. Akhtar, then, after a long pause, bickered a little more ‘politely’ with Niaz who maintained his composure and ignored Akhtar even further. At around 3:30 into the video, however, Akhtar apologises and ‘resigned’ from PTV as an analyst, took off his mic even as Niaz, without batting an eyelid, continued with his show as if nothing happened.

After clips of the show went viral on social media, Shoaib Akhtar took to Twitter to clarify what transpired.

Akhtar clarified that Niaz was being obnoxious and asked him to leave. He mentions how Niaz insulted a ‘national star’ (referring to himself) on national tv in front of superstars and foreigners on the show and how it would send a bad message. Hence, he said that he later claimed it was a joke that he was leaving the show but asked him to say sorry to him on air. But since Niaz did not say sorry, he left the show.

He even tweeted that he tried to save face in front of cricketing legends like Sir Vivian Richards and David Gower who were sitting on the set but Nauman did not bugde, he said.

Pakistan to observe October 27 as ‘Kashmir black day’, orders its embassies to spread anti-India propaganda and hold protests

0

Pakistan embassies across the world have planned t observe October 27 as yet another ‘Kashmir Black Day’. It is notable that every year, October 22 is observed as Black Day in Jammu and Kashmir to mark the invasion by Pakistan just after two months of India’s Independence in 1947.

Needless to say, Pakistan is trying to push its anti-India agenda using Kashmir as an issue, yet again, on the international platform. Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan shared a thread on Twitter in which he said, “Pakistan and millions of Kashmiris observe the Kashmir Black Day every 27 October to condemn the beginning of the illegal occupation of parts of the State of Jammu and Kashmir by India.”

In a proposed toolkit designed by Pakistan, the authorities want its social media “warriors” to concentrate on ‘Indian atrocities’, ‘Human rights violations’ and more.

OpIndia accessed multiple documents via sources regarding the orders given by higher officials in Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs directing its missions across European nations to hold programs on October 27.

For Brussels, the orders were signed by one Rahee Tariq, where the embassy was asked to hold an extensive outreach program to the authorities in Belgium, Luxembourg and EU institutions, including the European Parliament and present a “fact sheet on Kashmir.” One can only imagine what kind of propaganda filled these so-called fact sheets can be. It also asked the embassies to get articles published in Belgian media about the Kashmir issue. Demonstrations, protests and seminars, along with the use of social media to spread propaganda, were part of the agenda.

Similarly, for Copenhagen, the embassy was asked to hold protests outside the Danish Parliament. From photo exhibitions against India to displaying images of alleged human rights violations on billboards across Copenhagen were planned.

For Prague, in the orders signed by Kamran Ahmed Malik, Pakistan asked its embassy to arrange a meeting with the President of the Czech-Pakistan Friendship group in the Parliament to discuss alleged human rights violations by Indian authorities in Kashmir. It also asked for coverage of special messages of the Prime Minister, President and Foreign Minister in local media outlets.

For Nairobi, in the orders signed by Saqlain Syedah, Pakistan asked the embassy to host a small reception for speakers of Kashmir and Pakistan origin to discuss Kashmir. It also asked to appraise Pakistan origin Parliamentarians about the issues in Kashmir from Pakistan’s perspective.

A document was shared in this regard by Major Gaurav Arya, the editor-in-chief of the Chanakya Forum, on Twitter in which it was mentioned that Prime Minister himself had approved USD 1000 for the program in Nairobi.

For Belarus, in the orders signed by Muhammed Abdullah Amin, Pakistan asked the embassy to arrange a presentation on Kashmir along with a display of video documentary, photograph exhibition and webinar on the propaganda narrated by Pakistan. It also asked for coverage in local media.

For Sarajevo, Pakistan asked the embassy to approach political authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It also asked to communicate with the defence ministry in those countries and speak to them about Pakistan’s view on Kashmir. From press briefing to photo exhibition, multiple programs were asked to be organized.

Why does India observe October 22 as Black Day in J&K?

On October 22, 1947, Pakistan had attacked Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistan army led by its Major General Akbar Khan looted and destroyed several areas of Jammu and Kashmir with an aim to occupy the land. Amidst the chaos, Maharaja Hari Singh signed Kashmir’s accession to India on October 26, 1947, giving India a chance to retaliate. Named as Operation Gulmarg, it was the first attack on Kashmir by Pakistan. Since then, Pakistan backed terrorist activities in the valley have continued to be a problem for India.

Pakistan has chosen October 27 as on this day in 1947, Governor-General Lord Mountbatten accepted the agreement of accession of Kashmir to India signed by Maharaja Hari Singh. Pakistan wants to use the day to propagate its agenda to paint a negative picture of India, claiming the Indian government has occupied Kashmir. Since the abrogation of Article 370, Pakistan has increased its efforts to show as if India is the cause of problems in the Kashmir region and not Pakistan that continuously sends terrorists in the valley.
