Indore: 52-year-old Maulana booked under POCSO Act for molesting a minor girl in a madarsa

0

On Saturday, Indore police said that a Maulana molested a 12-year-old girl at a Madarsa in the city of Madhya Pradesh. The 52-year-old cleric has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act after the incident came to light. The maulana’s family members also have been booked for assaulting the relatives of the victim girl.

According to the information provided by Chandan Nagar police station inspector Abhay Nema, the police on Friday registered an offence against the 52-year-old Maulana of the Madarsa under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (assaulting or using criminal force to any woman) and the relevant sections of the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s family, the girl had enrolled in the madarsa in September this year. In the classes in the madarsa, the accused maulana allegedly touched the student in an appropriate manner while giving lessons. The girl further said that earlier this week when she and other students were leaving the madarsa after class, he held her right hand and then touched her inappropriately.

When the girl reached home, she narrated the entire incident to her family, and when her father and two relatives reached the madarsa to confront the cleric. But in the madarsa, they were assaulted by two sons of the madarsa teacher with iron rods. “The victim later narrated her ordeal to her parents. When the victim’s father and two other relatives reached the Maulana’s residence to confront him, two sons of the accused Maulana attacked the victim’s family with iron rods leaving them injured,” Nema told PTI.

“Two sons of the Maulana have also been booked for thrashing the victim’s father and uncle, meanwhile the search is on for nabbing the perpetrators,” inspector Abhay Nema added.

Prashant Chobey, ADCP Indore, said that the Maulana used to call the girl in a separate room and would touch her private parts.

“A 15-year-old minor girl filed a complaint at Chandan Nagar PS accusing her Madrasa teacher, a 50-year-old Maulana, of molesting her, touching her private parts in a separate room where she’s been going to study for 1-1.5 months, said Chobey, as reported by ANI.

After her parents visited the teacher with the complaint, the Maulana engaged in beating & abusing them. Police immediately registered the case under POCSO Act & other sections; will arrest the guilty soon,” ADCP Indore Prashant Choubey added.

As Owaisi claims Muslims are highest condom users, here is what Islam says about the permissible usage of condom

On October 8, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that Muslims use condoms the most. He was responding to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remark on community-based population imbalance. He further claimed that the total fertility rate (TFR) of Muslims in the country has fallen.

In a statement, while addressing a gathering, Owaisi said, “Don’t fret, the Muslim population is not increasing, it’s rather falling… Who’s using condoms the most? We are. Mohan Bhagwat won’t speak on this. His statement came as a response to Bhagwat’s statement from October 5, where he raised the issue of ‘demographic imbalance’ and called for a well-thought-out and comprehensive population control policy that would be applicable to all social groups equally. Bhagwat further emphasised the importance of ‘community-based’ population imbalance and said it should not be ignored.

While giving reference to Quran, Owaisi said, “I invite you, Bhagwat Sahab, to read the Qur’an. Allah tells us that killing a foetus is a very big sin. The gap between two pregnancies is done by Muslims, and condoms are mostly used by them.”

AIMIM chief claimed that the TFR of Muslims has declined by 2 per cent. He said, “The total fertility rate of Muslims has declined to 2 per cent as per records of the National Family Health survey. If you misrepresent history, then it is your mistake. In 2020 the Modi government filed an affidavit in the Supreme court stating that compulsion regarding family planning cannot be done, nor do we want it. But Mohan Bhagwat says the population is increasing.”

Owaisi claimed due to lack of “employment” and “inadequate salaries”, half of the population will be dependent on their child for food and medicine by 2061. “Who will feed them?? The BJP and RSS have decided that they will not feed them but will assault Muslims.” It was interesting to see Owaisi talk about BJP in power and the year 2061. It appears he is affirmative that, at least till 2061, BJP is going to remain in power.

What does Islam say about the permissible usage of condom

According to Darulifa Deoband’s website, the use of condoms without a valid reason is unlawful. Furthermore, the use of a condom just for the sake that the man does not want to let the family members, including parents, know about their intercourse relationship with the ‘future wife’ is not permissible.

The condom is allowed only if the wife is too weak and cannot bear pregnancy or is a victim of continual sickness. It can be assumed that the Darul Ifta while answering the question, stated that it was alright to have sex with a wife who is “too weak” or a “victim of continual sickness”.

In a question submitted to the website, someone asked, “Is using condoms allowed in Islam? If not, then how to avoid unwanted pregnancy?” Darul Ifta, while answering the question, said, “The use of condoms without a valid reason is not lawful. However, if the wife is too weak and cannot bear pregnancy or a victim of continual sickness, then in such case of exigency, using a condom is allowable.”

In another question, a person asked, “Is the usage of a condom allowed in ISLAM at the time of intercourse with wife because the person and his future wife will not let anyone know of our intercourse relationship before rukhsati (not even our parents).”

source: darulifta-deoband

Darul Ifta replied, “When the Nikah is known to all, then there is no wrong if your wife gets pregnant. The excuse put by you is not enough for using a condom. Therefore, it will be makrooh to use a condom in the abovementioned case.” As per Darul Ifta, the use of a condom after Nikah (marriage) is ‘makrooh’ or ‘an offensive act’.

In another question asked on the website, Darul Ifta said that condom is only allowed if the couple wants to delay the next pregnancy to ensure the nourishment of the newborn child. However, if the couple wants to use the condom to avoid pregnancy as they are not well off, the use of a condom is not allowed as it would be considered a “weakness in belief”. Furthermore, if the couple wants to use a condom to delay childbirth to continue “enjoyment”, it would be considered Makrooh.

If the stated facts are right as per Islamic teachings, Owaisi either wants to point out that Muslims are going against Islam, or he might want to point out that Muslim men are having “a lot of sex before or outside marriage”. Only Owaisi can tell what he means.

Rahul Gandhi and his doublespeak on the Adani Group, which he and his party had defamed over the years

Congress scion Rahul Gandhi, who had been accusing the Modi government of being hands-in-gloves with the industrialists of the country, had a change of heart after Gautam Adani announced ₹65000 crores worth of investment in Congress-ruled Rajasthan.

The Gandhi dynast was caught on the wrong foot after Rajasthan Chief Minister heaped praises on the Adani Group. Over the years, Rahul Gandhi had hurled abuses, spread falsehoods and accused industrialists of crony capitalism.

The Congress leader was forced to tweak the anti-business sentiment, which he helped foster in the Indian psyche. “I am in no way against the corporates, and businesses, but against the complete monopolization of businesses as that weakens the country,” Rahul Gandhi said in his defence of doublespeak.

“And today what we are seeing is a complete monopolization of all businesses. And that’s my problem,” he further added. Just last month, Rahul Gandhi insulted a female journalist from NDTV because the controversial media house was acquired by the Adani group.

He repeatedly told the female journalist that she has a ‘new owner’ before eventually moving on to not answering her original question.

The Congress party had also helped ‘mainstream’ the disinformation that the Adani group, which manages the operations of the Mundra port, was somehow responsible for 3000 kg of heroin found in a shipment from Afghanistan in September 2021.

The Adani group was forced to issue a media statement in a bid to nullify the unsubstantiated claims of the grand-old party. In June this year, Rahul Gandhi amplified fake news published by leftist propaganda outlet, The Wire, which suggested that PM Modi influenced a deal in Sri Lanka on the behest of the Adani group.

Even though the Sri Lankan president rejected any such collusion or favour for any specific company, Rahul Gandhi seemed upset that an Indian company won a bid for a project in Sri Lanka.

Again in April 2022, the Congress IT cell Head Saral Patel tweeted fake news about ‘Adani Apples’ and alleged that they were dominating the market over the produce of local farmers. On being called out on social media, he quietly deleted his tweet without citing any apology or word of regret.

In March last year, Rahul Gandhi accused PM Modi of helping his ‘two friends’ Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani. When reports emerged that Gautam Adani gained the highest amount of wealth in 2021, it was a perfect moment for Rahul Gandhi to use the news to attack industrialists.

In the year 2011, the chairman of the Adani Group was the highest wealth creator in the country, with his wealth doubling to Rs 33,211 crore. At that time, Dr Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister of India, while Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. However, Rahul Gandhi avoided mention of that to avoid discrepancies in his fallible conspiracy theory.

In December 2020, the Congress party also accused the Adani Group of transferring the ownership of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport in Ahmedabad to its name for ‘free’ (with the supposed help from the Modi government).

Adani Airports was simply involved in managing the operations of the Ahmedabad Airport, just like the GMR Group, an infrastructure behemoth, manages the operations of the Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi. Besides, Adani Airports won the contract to through a competitive bidding process.

The fake news about crony capitalism and favouritism, disseminated by Congress on a regular basis, led to real-life acts of violence and vandalism during the anti-farm law protests. Jio towers, belonging to the Ambani group, were damaged.

The ‘protestors’ had targeted Reliance Jio towers because of claims that Reliance, as well as the Adani group, were out to exploit farmers with help from the now-scrapped farm laws. The site managers were slapped and abused for trying to stop the protestors from destroying the infrastructure.

“Rajasthan CM didn’t give any preferential treatment to Adani or use his political power to help his (Gautam Adani’s) business. The day they do that, I will stand in the opposition,” Rahul Gandhi said recently while defending the investment made by the Adani group in Rajasthan.

The Congress scion thus insinuated that other States, run by non-Congress governments, had been able to draw investments from large business houses due to favouritism. This is quite rich coming from a party that has been at the helm of kickbacks and massive scams during its reign from 2004-2014.

Election Commission freezes Shiv Sena’s “bow and arrow” symbol amid tussle between Shinde and Thackeray faction

According to an interim order from the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday, neither of the two factions would be permitted to use the “Bow & Arrow” symbol, which is reserved for the “Shiv Sena” party.

Additionally, separate symbols will be assigned to each group from the list of free symbols made available by the Election Commission for the upcoming by-elections slated for November 3.

In its order, the Commission stated ” The commission hereby makes the following Interim Order, to cover the purpose of the current Bye-elections and to continue until the final ruling of the dispute in the matter in terms of Paragraph 15 of the Symbols Order, in order to place both the rival groups on an equal footing and to protect their rights and interests, and going by the past precedent:- Neither of the two groups led by Eknathrao Sambhaji Shinde (Petitioner) and Uddhav Thackeray (Respondent) shall be permitted to use the Bow and Arrow symbol, which is only allowed to be used by “Shivsena”.

“Both groups will receive different symbols from the list of free symbols notified by the Election Commission for the purposes of the current bye-elections, and they will be known by the names they choose for their respective groups, if they desire linkage to their parent party, the Shiv Sena,” the Commission added.

The Eknath Shinde faction of the Shiv Sena met the election commission on Friday to assert ownership of the party’s “bow and arrow” election symbol. Uddhav Thackeray had received a letter from the EC requesting a response to the claim by Saturday.

The Uddhav Thackeray faction on Saturday termed the Election Commission’s order barring both the Thackeray and Eknath Shinde factions from using the party name and election symbol in the coming Andheri East Assembly bypoll as “injustice”. On the other hand, the group led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde regarded the EC order as appropriate.

According to Ambadas Danve, Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Council and a Thackeray loyalist, the Election Commission should have made a decision holistically after considering all the factors rather than giving an interim decision for the by-election. “This is injustice,” he said to PTI.

The commission’s ruling came amid the ongoing tussle between the Uddhav Thackeray camp and the ruling Eknath Shinde camp over the party’s symbol.

On October 5, both Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde engaged in a war of words, with Thackeray calling Eknath Shinde ‘Kattappa’ and Shinde hitting back. During a speech, Thackeray called Shinde ‘Katappa’ and said, “The only thing I feel bad and angry about is that when I was admitted to the hospital, the people whom I gave the responsibility (of the state) became ‘Katappa’ and betrayed us. They were cutting me and thinking that I will never return from the hospital.”

On this Shinde responded while addressing a huge crowd on Dussehra celebrations, “They call me ‘Katappa’. I want to tell you, that even ‘Katappa’ had self-respect, and was not double standard like you.”

Shinde had revolted against Uddhav Thackeray for forming an “unnatural alliance” with Congress and NCP. Thackeray was forced to step down as Maharashtra Chief Minister after more than 40 of the Shiv Sena’s 55 MLAs supported Shinde. Shinde, who later claimed to be the leader of the original Shiv Sena, received backing from 12 of the Shiv Sena’s 18 Lok Sabha members.

Gujarat Congress Muslim MLAs demand tickets proportionate to the Muslim population in the state ahead of the elections

The Muslim MLAs of the Congress party have demanded tickets proportionate to the Muslim population in poll-bound Gujarat. As per reports, three MLAs of Congress belonging to the Muslim community have asked for 10 to 11 tickets for Muslims in the state for the upcoming elections. In the last elections, Out of seven Muslim candidates that Congress had fielded, Imran Yusufbhai Khedawala, Sabir Kabliwala and Shaikh Gyasuddin Habibuddeen won their respective seats.

Congress MLA Shaikh Gyasuddin Habibuddeen was quoted by Desh Gujarat saying that 18 assembly seats for Muslim candidates are “their right” as Gujarat has a 10 per cent population of Muslims and the total number of assembly seats in the state is 182. They have demanded tickets for the assembly seats, including Dariyapur, Jamalpur Khadia, Wakaner, Surat East, Abdasa, Jamnagar East, Dholka, Mandvi, and Vejalpur.

Shaikh said, “Every community seeks their representation when there is a political election. Muslim community of entire Gujarat feels that there are 182 seats and 10 per cent population of the Muslim community. Considering that, 18 seats is our right. But the Muslim community haven’t laid claims to 18 seats. We demand 10 to 11 seats, including Dariyapur, Jamalpur Khadia, Wakaner, Surat East, Godhra, Vejalpur in Ahmedabad, Dholka, Abdasa and Mandvi in Kutch, Jamnagar East. So, for those who are capable of winning, we three sitting MLAs, Imran Khedawala, Jawed Pirzada and me, and other senior leaders of congress, feel that the tickets should be given where there are capable candidates.”

He added that during the last elections, seven tickets were given to the Muslim candidates though they felt that at least ten seats should have been given to them. Shaikh also targeted BJP and AAP for not giving Muslim candidates any tickets in the state.

“The condition is very convenient, and the representation of the Muslim community can be increased. BJP doesn’t give us even a single ticket. AAP party declared so many candidates, but they haven’t declared any Muslim candidate so far. But, congress always walks along with the people of all religions and castes, whether it be Patidar, Brahmin, Schedule caste, Schedule Tribe, OBC, or Muslim. We trust that the party (congress) will think seriously about our demand and give tickets. We trust the high commands that they walk with the people of all religions and castes. So, we will get enough representation,” he said.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann insults President of India, remains absent from civic reception ceremony, second AAP CM to do so in a week

On October 8, the Governor of Punjab, Banwari Lal Purohit, expressed his dismay over the absence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann from a civic reception that Governor Purohit had hosted in honour of President Draupadi Murmu. She was on her first visit to Chandigarh as chief guest for the Air Force Day celebrations. At the reception, Governor Purohit, who is also the administrator of Chandigarh, pointed out that CM Mann was absent from the program despite assuring him of his attendance.

In a statement, Governor Purohit said, “Punjab CM was also invited. I spoke with him. He accepted the invitation but didn’t come. No matter how much work you have but priority should be given to constitutional responsibility.” He was not pleased that CM Mann decided to send his representatives instead of coming himself.

Punjab BJP General Secretary Subhash Sharma called it an unfortunate act by the CM. He said, “It is unfortunate that CM Mann skipped the event.” He urged him to understand the constitutional responsibility of the post.

On the other hand, AAP lashed out at the Governor for his remarks. Punjab minister Aman Arora said, “I am very upset with the Governor’s remark that despite other ministers being present here at Sukhna Lake of Chandigarh, he was only concerned about the absence of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann.” He further remarked that it was unfortunate that Purohit raised “the political issue” from the stage of Raj Bhavan.

Reportedly, CM Mann had appointed Arora to welcome the President during her visit to Chandigarh. Arora added that there were five other cabinet ministers as well at the event, along with the DGP and other senior bureaucrats from the state.

It is noteworthy that CM Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal are on a two-day visit to poll-bound Gujarat. AAP has been campaigning in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled states for months, where its leaders are projecting the party as a “third alternative”. The Vadodara appearance of Kejriwal was tainted by the anti-Hindu remarks of the AAP state minister Rajendra Pal Gautam. Posters against Kejriwal had popped up in the state ahead of his roadshow.

AAP Chief Kejriwal skipped the function and Raj Ghat and Vijay on October 2

This is the second time a Chief Minister of an AAP-ruled state skipped a program where the President of India was the chief guest. On October 2, CM Kejriwal decided to skip the event at Raj Ghat and Vijay Ghat that was organised by GNCTD, which the CM himself chairs. In a letter to the CM, Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena slammed Kejriwal for not showing up at the event.

Notably, the invitations for the event were sent on behalf of the CM, and the office of the President had communicated that CM must be present to receive the President. However, just like CM Mann, CM Kejriwal had also landed in Gujarat for the campaign instead of fulfilling his constitutional duty.

Arvind Kejriwal gets into damage control mode as he calls himself “rabidly religious” after anti-AAP posters come up in Gujarat

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday got into damage control mode after AAP MLA Rajendra Pal courted controversy by attending a mass conversion event where 10,000 Hindus were converted to Buddhism. Following the incident, many anti-AAP posters had come up in poll-bound Gujarat, slamming the party and Kejriwal for working against the interests of Hindus.

Heeding to the public backlash and with Gujarat assembly elections just months away, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal called himself ’religious’ and highlighted that he was born on Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, to eliminate the children of ‘Kans’.

In an attempt to deflect criticism directed toward AAP MLA Rajendra Pal over his presence at a mass conversion rally, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said, “I was born on the day of Janmashtami, God has sent me with a special task, to eliminate the children of these Kans.”

In a rally in Gujarat’s Vadodara, Kejriwal said, “I saw my posters across Gujarat against me. I know they (BJP) hate me. I have no problem with them defaming me, but now they are using abusive words against gods as well. They are insulting gods as well, they are not even sparing gods. They are the descendants of Kansa.”

Posters against AAP and Arvind Kejriwal come up in Gujarat

Kejriwal’s recent theatrics came after black hoardings came up on roads and intersections in major cities of Gujarat, depicting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a Muslim wearing a skullcap with quotes such as, “I do not believe in Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Rama and Krishna as God” and “These are the words and rituals of Aam Aadmi Party.”

In another poster having AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal dressed as a Muslim, which seems to be set up on a road, it is written, “I consider Hinduism as madness” and “These are the words and rituals of Aam Aadmi Party.” These posters pop up as Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal are scheduled to visit Gujarat for two days starting from today.

AAP MLA Rajendra Pal Gautam attends mass conversion event

Earlier yesterday, AAP MLA Rajendra Pal Gautam was sighted at a ceremony wherein 10,000 Hindus were converted to Buddhism on Wednesday. The Buddhist Society of India hosted the acrimonious event in the Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan in Jhandewalan, New Delhi. During the occasion, a saffron-clad individual delivered an oath to the audience that closely mirrored BR Ambedkar’s infamous 22 vows. The person exhorted Hindus to separate themselves from their ancient faith and stop worshipping deities.

“I shall have no faith in Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara, nor shall I worship them. I shall have no faith in Rama and Krishna who are believed to be the incarnation of God nor shall I worship them,” he was heard as saying. AAP Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam was observed repeating the contentious pledges and sharing the platform with the person during the ceremony.

Mumbai: Inspired by Netflix’s ‘Money Heist’, ICICI bank official Altaf Shaikh loots Rs 34 crores from his bank vault, arrested

The Mumbai police have arrested Altaf Shaikh, the vault custodian of the Integrated Currency Management Centre of ICICI Bank in Dombivli, Mumbai, who had on July 9 executed an elaborate heist and siphoned off Rs 34 crore from his own bank’s cash vault. The police arrested Shaikh from Pune on Monday and recovered around Rs 9 crore from him. His sister, identified as Niloufer, and his other three partners in crime, Qureshi, Ahmed Khan and Anuj Giri have also been arrested.

The police, which took almost three months to crack the case, said that the accused had spent nearly one year planning the heist. They further said that the mastermind, Altaf Shaikh had executed the heist after getting inspired by the Spanish heist crime drama web series Money Heist.

The story of Netflix’s Money Heist centres around a criminal mastermind known as the Professor (lvaro Morte), who devises a complex scheme to carry out the largest heist in recorded history, which is to print billions of euros in the Royal Mint of Spain. The popular five-season web series depicts eight criminals kidnapping hostages and trapping themselves in the Royal Mint of Spain as the criminal genius manipulates the authorities to carry out his ambitious scheme.

According to the police, Altaf Shaikh viewed the internet series around a year ago and decided to loot the bank, where he was working for the last 9 years, to quickly gain a fortune. He gathered all the necessary tools to carry out the robbery.

The police said that Altaf had noticed the AC repair work near the bank’s safe room one day and began plotting from there.

Altaf Shaikh first investigated the security system’s loopholes before gathering the materials needed for the crime.

The heist was executed on July 9 on a bank holiday. Shaikh, at first, disabled the alarm systems and removed all the hard disks of the CCTVs. Once the system was disabled, he executed the heist through the air conditioning duct. He flung the money through the hole in the AC duct onto a tarpaulin tied to the back of the bank building.

“After deactivating the alarm system and sabotaging the CCTV, Shaikh opened the bank vault and transferred the cash to the duct and below to the chute. The incident came to light after the bank realised that the security money was missing, as were the DVR of CCTVs, which prompted its personnel to call the inspection team,” the official said.

He then took the help of his three associates, Qureshi, Ahmed Khan, Anuj Giri and his sister, Niloufer, to move the cash from the bank to a rented place at Taloja in Navi Mumbai. According to the police Shaikh handed over Rs 12 crore to his three accomplices and kept the remaining cash in the rented place at Taloja in Navi Mumbai with his sister Niloufer.

Later, Shaikh informed the bank that the hard disks of the CCTV recordings were stolen and filed a police complaint regarding the missing cash.

After launching a probe into the case, the police apprehended Shaikh’s three aides and recovered Rs 5 crore in cash from their possession. Eventually, two-and-a-half-month later, the mastermind of the heist, Altaf Shaikh, was detained in Pune on the basis of information provided by the three accused.

The police revealed that Altaf Shaikh had spent three months on the run, changing his appearance and hiding his identity with a burqa. Shaikh’s sister Neelofer, who was aware of his whereabouts, stashed some money at her home. According to authorities, she too has been arrested and charged as a co-accused in the case.

Delhi: 8-year-old girl abducted and killed by neighbour Anwar to take revenge on her brother in Narela, arrested

Delhi Police have arrested an accused named Anwar in connection with the murder of an 8-year-old girl in Delhi’s Narela area. In the CCTV footage of the crime, the arrested accused was seen taking the girl with him. After this, the police identified him with the help of CCTV and arrested him on Saturday 8th October 2022.

Around 10 pm on Friday, the police received the information that the 8-year-old girl is missing from Narela in Delhi. After the CCTV footage of the road, about 150 meters away from the girl’s house, was checked, it was revealed that a person was taking the girl with him. After this, the police investigated and identified the accused. Around 11.30 pm, the police nabbed the accused who was identified as Anwar. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Devesh Kumar Mahla said that Anwar killed the girl to avenge the beating he had received from the girl’s brother.

Investigations revealed the family of the accused Anwar and the deceased minor girl live nearby. The interrogation of the accused revealed that the accused was having a dispute with the girl’s brother. The girl’s brother had beaten up the accused some time ago. To avenge this, Anwar killed his sister.

Anwar told the police that to take revenge on the girl’s brother, he took the girl about a kilometer away from her house, where he killed her. After getting the information, the police recovered the body and the forensic team reached the spot and investigated the incident.

According to the police, the post-mortem revealed strangulation and a fracture of the head. Reportedly, Anwar smashed her head with a stone. Although no evidence of sexual harassment has been found, nothing is ruled out before the probe is completed. The police had registered a case on the basis of a missing complaint. Later, the police registered a case of murder and arrested the accused.

Initially, accused Anwar made another person named Raja Babu an accused of murder and tried to mislead the police, but the investigation did not find the involvement of Raja Babu.

Priyanka Chopra attacked on social media for supporting Iranian women protesting against hijab, called a hypocrite, Muslim hater

On Saturday, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas was attacked for extending her support to the Iranian women protesting against the death of a 22-year-old woman named Mahsa Amini. Amini was arrested by the ‘morality police’ in Tehran for not properly wearing a hijab as per mandatory hijab laws of the country and she was then killed by the police on 16 September 2022. Since then, dozens of young people have been killed and hundreds jailed in the ongoing protest against the Islamist regime.

Priyanka directed a message to Iranian protesters, stating that she admires their bravery in fighting for their rights. “Women in Iran and around the world are standing up and raising their voices, publicly cutting their hair and many other forms of protest for Mahsa Amini, whose young life was taken away so brutally by the Iranian Morality Police for wearing her hijab ‘improperly’. The voices that speak after ages of forced silence, will rightfully burst like a volcano! And they will not and MUST not be stemmed”, the message read.

“I am in awe of your courage and your purpose. It is not easy to risk your life, literally, to challenge the patriarchal establishment and fight for your rights. But, you are courageous women doing this every day regardless of the cost to yourselves. To ensure that this movement will have a lasting effect, we must hear their call, understand the issues and then join in with our collective voices”, the 40-year-old actress further said.

However, netizens on Twitter and her followers on Instagram could not digest the fact that the actress was supporting the Iranian protest against the hijab and attacked her for allegedly not standing by her country amid the hijab row. “I appreciate this post but also point out your hypocrisy for not extending the same supportive voice to Hijabi women from your own country who are being harassed by your country’s government for their freedom of choice and being forbidden from taking exams because of their hijab. Can you stand up for them too? Can’t probably”, one of her Instagram users commented.

Meanwhile, another one said that the actress had failed to stand by the women in India, France, and Germany who want to wear hijab. “Why didn’t you say anything when women were brutally treated in India, France, and Germany who wanted to wear hijab? It’s everyone’s own choice. Why just show support when they don’t want to wear hijab? Is it really about rights or agendas?”, the comment read?

A thread of similar opinions piled up her comment section box which read, “Start by standing with Muslim women of India being forced to take off their hijab. Smh. Your selective activism is…appalling”, and, “First speak for the women in your country who don’t have the freedom of choice!”.

One of the Instagram users also blatantly targeted the actress and accused her of portraying a biased stance toward the minority community in India. “These are the celebrities who chose the topic very wisely just to add show that they care. You are just like another typical Modi Indian who doesn’t like Muslims and speaks for self-interested topics”, the user said.

Chopra’s support was also condemned by the leftists and Islamist citizens who accused her of maintaining silence in many incidents favoring the Islamist community. “Priyanka Chopra’s concern for Iranian women is hugely appreciated, but her silence on Bilkis Bano and the state-enabled persecution of Muslims, especially marginalized women in her home country, India is worth introspection”, commented claimed journalist Rana Ayyub.

Amini’s custodial death sparks anti-hijab protests across Iran

According to the reports, 22-year-old Mahsa Amini was abducted by the ‘morality police’ in Tehran for not complying with the mandatory hijab laws of the country. Amini who was on a pleasure trip to Tehran had not covered her hair properly in the hijab. She was arrested by the police and then beaten in the police van while being taken to a detention centre, dubbed as a ‘re-education class’ for not conforming to the country’s mandatory hijab rules.

The police took the woman to the police station on Vozara Avenue where already dozens of other women were being held for not following the hijab rules. They beat the women and schooled them about the proper dress rules of the country. Mahsa was brutally beaten and taken to the hospital after she stopped responding in the custody. The doctors at the hospital stated that her heart continued to beat but her brain was no longer functioning. The woman breathed her last three days after the incident.

Her killing sparked massive protests in Iran, with women taking to the streets to up raise their voices against the regime. Several ladies including school-going girls burnt their hijabs in sympathy with the tragedy, while women all throughout the world trimmed their hair in the protest. Protests erupted in dozens of places around the country in the aftermath of her death after which the government retaliated with a harsh crackdown.

However, three weeks after the death of Amini, Iran’s Forensic Organisation revealed a report stating that the woman had died due to illness and not due to blows and beatings given to her in police custody. Earlier, the Police had also tried to cover up the matter claiming that Mahsa was already suffering from a heart problem and that she was never beaten in the custody.
