Grand Omaxe society case: Surajpur Court rejects bail plea of Noida politician Shrikant Tyagi

On Thursday, the Surajpur Court in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida rejected the bail plea of self-proclaimed BJP leader Srikant Tyagi who had abused and assaulted a woman last week in the Grand Omaxe residential society. The bail application was denied under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) regarding the molestation of a lady. The court will examine the case filed under sections 420, 419, and 482 of the IPC on August 16.

This is a couple of days after the Uttar Pradesh Police arrested Tyagi from Meerut. Tyagi had been on run since a video of him abusing and assaulting a woman went viral. The Police got a tip-off of his location and arrested him on August 9.

The saga began last Friday when Shrikant Tyagi insulted and assaulted a lady after a disagreement regarding common area encroachment in a premium residential complex. The video that had gone viral over social media showed Tyagi using abusive words toward the woman. Reports mention that Tyagi had illegally grown eight palm trees over two years in the common complex area. He had plans to plant the hedges in August. However, some of the society members including the woman approached Tyagi. The matter went on escalating between the duo until other society members tried to control Tyagi from allegedly attacking the woman.

He abused the woman, pushed her, and also made attempts to assassinate her character. The woman while unfolding the incident said that Tyagi was trying to encroach on the land that belongs to the society by plating trees and bushes in one particular area. “He abused me, used bad words for me and my family. He threatened me that if I try to remove the plants that he has planted, he’ll touch me”.

Following the incident, the society members uprooted all the plants that he had planted to encroach on the society’s land. The Society Board Members have also complained about Tyagi at Noida Phase 2 police station. The Board said that Tyagi was furious after the board decided to transplant the palm trees and hedges to the appropriate area following the complaints from other society members.

Reportedly, after the incident, the Uttar Pradesh government initiated action against Tyagi on Monday and bulldozed illegal encroachments done by him in Grand Omaxe society in Noida Sector 93B. The residents of the society whole-heartedly welcomed the bulldozer action by the Noida Authority and chanted slogans praising Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The Police also arrested six people who entered the Grand Omaze society on Sunday evening without permission. They were alleged supporters of Tyagi and questioned residents about the woman address who was assaulted by Tyagi. Later on Tuesday, the Police took Shrikant’s wife for questioning. She was questioned for the second time. Earlier she was detained by the Police for questioning on Friday, August 5. The Police also seized all the cars belonging to Tyagi.

Tyagi had claimed he was a BJP leader but the party has denied any association with him. Following Tyagi’s arrest, Uttar Pradesh’s Dy CM had said that the UP government is working with a target of ‘zero tolerance’ against crimes and would not leave any person who breaks the law. According to him, the main aim of the Yogi government is to establish law and order in the state.

Rangbaaz on Zee5 whitewashes Bihar’s jungleraj so much that now even I think Shahabuddin was a messiah and Chanda Babu a corrupt criminal

Siwan is a district in Bihar where a criminal had a very strong political hold from 1990 to 2009. Mohammad Shahabuddin died in 2021 because of covid related complications. But the fear he induced in the minds of people was so much that the people who lived through it will never forget. Under Lalu Prasad Yadav’s patronage he ruled Siwan for three decades. Not just ruled, but created a whole new record in crimes such as murder, extortion and kidnapping which had become an industry in itself.

Mohammad Shahabuddin first became an MLA in 1990 as an independent candidate from Ziradei constituency. In 1995, he contested elections as Janata Dal candidate and won. A year later he became an MP from Siwan. He registered a win from this seat in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2004. If you think people elected him to power for six times nonstop out of their love for him, you are highly mistaken.

Mohammad Shahabuddin is one of those criminals from Bihar who started their criminal career in the 80s decade. In the poor state of Bihar, some government schemes had started coming. Hence, they would take out tenders for the schemes. Hence, the criminals in the 80s started becoming contractors and to whitewash their crimes, they wore white clothes and became politicians. Mohammad Shahabuddin, who was fondly called ‘Bahubali’ in the media and ‘sahab’ by his supporters, was one such criminal.

Six-episode Zee5 series Rangraaz is based on his life. In the series, not only is the character of Mohammad Shahabuddin (fictionalised as Harul Shah Ali) praised to the moon, but also painted Chanda Babu’s character as a corrupt villain. In reality, Shahabuddin got Chanda Babu’s three sons brutally murdered by pouring acid over them. Not just that, Zee5’s Rangraaz also fits into the leftist narrative of ‘Hindu goons’. Towards the climax, taking a detour from reality, Shahabuddin is portrayed as a larger than life people’s leader. They have also tried to justify his criminal activities by giving a context to his crimes.

Glorifying lives of criminals on the big screen is not new for Bollywood. Underworld don and terrorist Dawood Ibrahim has also been portrayed as a hero in many films. Don Haji Mastan has also been shown as a messiah in many films. Dawood’s don sister was also glorified on the silver screen. In ‘Raees’, Shah Rukh Khan played role inspired from don Abdul Lafeef who was shown as ‘god’ for people in the locality. There are many such examples. ‘Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti’ is just one more in the long list.

Communal riots would mean Hindus goons are traumatising Muslims while Muslims are victims

In the series, it is shown that Mohammad Shahabuddin was caught in a communal riot in his childhood. In Bollywood, the meaning of communal riots is that Hindu goons are chasing Muslim, who are the victims. Hindu goons are portrayed as Bhagwadhari goons baying for blood of Muslim women and children.

In this web series, it is shown that when the child Shahabuddin is returning from school with his Hindu friend, then some Hindu goons are rioting in a Muslim dominated area. Then they start chasing these kids but the mother of the Hindu kid hides them and saves them. And while in reality as seen in 2020 Delhi riots, where Hindu shops were targeted and and burnt down by mobs, in this web series, Shahabuddin’s father’s shop was burnt down by a Hindu mob. Moreover, then the police is shown to be making fun of Muslims. It is shown like Hindus have massacred Muslims, so as to create a backdrop.

Now, after being victim of such atrocities, how can Shahabuddin not end up as a criminal? This is how the web series has justified and then glorified the life of a criminal. This is the narrative. In one scene it is shown that when like his brother, when Shahabuddin is asked to go out and find a job or start his business like his brother, he asks his father ‘what if someone sets my shop on fire’? This is why he then chooses life of a criminal. This looks very juvenile when seen on television but the narrative is to make it appear like Muslims take to criminal life because of Hindus. And this is not new as we have seen such a storyline earlier in Hindi movies too.

Zameendars first gave patronage to Shahabuddin and then the gangster joined politics to defeat them

This web series then increases our general knowledge by explaining how only those who belonged to families of zameendar, or land owners, became a politician. Do Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar, Ramvilas Paswan or Sushil Modi have any links to family of zameendars? No. Were Bihar’s first chief minister Dr Shrikrishna Sinha or deputy chief minister Anugrah Narayan Sinha carry out atrocities on Dalits? No. Under the garb of ‘evil zameendars’, the series tries to portray upper caste Hindus, rather the entire Hindu community, as villain.

Remember how we were taught the Moplah massacre of Hindus in Kerala and the Khilafat (Caliphate) movement was taught to us as protest against the British by the farmers in our school books? We were taught how farmers took to protest because they were tired of the atrocities of the ‘evil zameendars’ while in reality it was a jihad to establish an Islamic caliphate, that too against Hindus. Similarly, in this web series too there is one character ‘Dashrath Singh’ who plays the role of an ‘evil zameendar’. It is shown that it is Dashrath Singh who takes Shahabuddin into the world of crime and gets him to take care of his land.

This is where we learn second reason why Shahabuddin took to crime. First it was the Hindu goons rioting and second is the zameendari. When Shahabuddin seeks permission from Dashrath Singh to contest elections, the latter makes fun of him, humiliates him and then Shahabuddin defeats Singh himself.

Now, let me tell you the inspiration behind the character of Dashrath Singh. Tribhuvan Narayan Singh, sorry, Captain Tribhuvan Narayan Singh, one of the most respected persons from Siwan. In 1985 he became an MLA on Congress ticket. He passed away in May 2022 at the age of 80. He was not only an Army veteran but also fought in the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Even today everyone remembers his contribution in the field of education and healthcare.

Singh played an important role in laying the foundation of the Hari Ram College in Siwan. He also worked as chief medical officer at Rajendra Sevashram hospital. He worked tirelessly for establishing hospitals in Korwa and Noutan areas of Mairwa. He had opposed Shahabuddin’s entry into politics and refused to endorse him. After that, Shahabuddin became all the more determined to join politics and in 1990, he crossed all boundaries of criminal behaviour and defeated Captain Tribhuvan Narayan Singh. A person like Captain Singh is shown as someone who supports and nurtures criminals.

Extortion = ‘Protection’ if the perpetrator is a Muslim

In this web series it is shown that Shahabuddin and his goons do not go to businessmen to threaten them and extort them. Instead, they come to Shahabuddin and offer ‘protection money’ and request him to ‘protect’ them. Hence, ‘ransom’ becomes ‘protection’ when the one collecting it is Muslim. Siwan’s businessmen keep picture of their ‘sahab’, not out of fear but out of love. There is no fear of him in the business community, everyone ‘loves’ him.

However, in reality, if anyone would keep photo or poster of any opposition candidate in their shop in Siwan, Shahabuddin will make their lives hell. 2004 Lok Sabha elections he contested and won from inside the jail. While in jail, he had arranged for his stay to be in the hospital. An entire floor was booked for him where he would hold his political meetings. he won the elections and after that many JDU workers were murdered. Because JDU’s Om Prakash Yadav was his very strong opponent.

In 1997, when RJD had total control over Bihar, Shahabuddin had become a parallel law and order system. Even police officers would be terrified of him. So you can imagine what the businessmen and shopowners thought of him. If people loved Shahabuddin so much, his wife, Hina Shahab would not lose three consecutive Lok Sabha elections in 2009, 2014 and 2019. People did not love, but feared Shahabuddin who had embraced the life of a criminal from his college days itself.

‘Chanda Babu’ is made out to be a villain, an old, harassed man is shown to be ‘obstacle’ in development

If you were to believe what the makers of Rangbaaz: Darr Ki Rajneeti’ on Zee5, one would think that Chanda Babu was against development. As per serial, the character based on Chanda Babu’s life does not give away his shop even at double the value for construction of a world class hospital even when everyone else had agreed to give up their land. It is shown that his sons had attacked Shahabuddin’s men with acid and hence he drenched two sons in acid and killed them. They didn’t show that after killing them Shahabuddin cut their bodies into pieces and threw them away.

After that, when the third son comes to give a statement as witness, he is also killed. In the series it is shown that Chanda Babu himself goes to jail to apologise to Shahabuddin and kills him. In reality, Chandrakeshwar Prasad aka Chanda Babu died in December 2020 after a heart attack. The man who cremated his three young sons died without getting justice for them. But this man is then shown in the series as someone who created troubles for development of Siwan.

The truth, however, is that Shahabuddin’s goons had looted Rs 2.5 lakh from Chanda Babu’s shop. His son Satish had agreed to give Rs 40,000 but Shahabuddin’s goons started beating him up. To save Satish, his brother Rajiv threw a bottle of acid kept in the bathroom towards the goons, of which some droplets fell on them. Then, on Shahabuddin’s instructions, Satish and his other brother Girish were drenched in acid and their brother Rajiv was made to watch it. Then their bodies were chopped into pieces and filled in sacks with salt and thrown away.

Then, after looting Chanda Babu’s shop, they set it on fire. Remember how in the web series, it is shown how Shahabuddin, in his childhood, had seen his shop being set on fire. Chanda Babu went from Siwan to Patna to Delhi to seek justice for his sons, but got nothing. When his third son came to give testimony, even he was killed. Chanda Babu and his wife Kalavati did not lose hope even then. They continued to fight. Chanda Babu would say, ‘either God should take us away or Shahabuddin should.’

‘Leader’, not a criminal Shahabuddin: Would talk about women rights and empowerment

You might have seen instances where if a criminal is Muslim he is termed mentally deranged. The culprits who attacked Gorakhpur temples were called mentally unstable. His family members said how he did not know what he was doing. While in case of Kamlesh Tiwari’s murder we had seen how even family members are part of jihad. But in films, family members of Muslim criminals are almost always shown to have very high standard of morals. They show how Shahabuddin’s father did not talk to him, hated crime and did not live in the house constructed by him. And neither did he use any of the things Shahabuddin bought for him.

Shahabuddin’s wife is shown as someone who discourages him from taking up criminal path, would scold him for his crimes. However, the truth is that his entire family was involved in criminal activity.

In one MLC elections, opposition leader Raees Khan was attacked with AK 47. In this case, Shahabuddin’s son Osama was named prime accused. This incident is very recent, from April this year, just one month prior to Shahabuddin’s death. Heena Shahab, RJD leader, cried foul over the FIR and threatened to leave Siwan. In real life, his wife has always whitewashed the crimes of Shahabuddin.

In the web series, Shahabuddin is a man who wants development. In jail, one constable tells him how his daughter is studying in the college constructed by Shahabuddin. Shahabuddin tells his wife how he gave a speech on women empowerment in the Parliament. He then explains how to talk about these issues he would have to go to the Parliament, as an elected member and to become one he has to do ‘these activities’ (criminal activities).

In the series, Leftist leader Chandrashekhar is shown as Shahabuddin’s childhood friend. When in reality the two never studied together and were not even friends. In fact, Shahabuddin got Chandrashekhar killed.

Pratappur clashes is also depicted as ‘self defence’. While in reality, Shahabuddin had beaten up an SP and his goons had beaten up other police officers. After that, police teams from various police stations reached his house. In this violence, 13 people were killed. An Army team was also deployed in Siwan to keep an eye on Shahabuddin who had connections with the ISI, Pakistan and underworld. And after the clashes, Lalu Prasad Yadav had referred to police action as cruel and sided with Shahabuddin.

And now, that Shahabuddin is glorified on television screen and his crimes whitewashed and he is portrayed as some messiah who has been a victim of the system.

‘Puja se dange bhadakte hain’: Hinduphobia continues in Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, says reviewer

Aamir Khan’s “much awaited” movie Laal Singh Chaddha has fallen on its face in theatres as the shows are not getting the response the actor and team have anticipated. Though the internationally acclaimed reviewers have reviewed the movie to be a bad one already, there is a chance that the filmmakers might blame it on the boycott calls that were made on social media platforms owing to the Hinduphobic (mocking Hindu Gods and Goddesses in movies) and anti-national (depriving Gujaratis of water by supporting Narmada Bachao Andolan) activities Khan has been indulged in for long.

YouTuber and film enthusiast Dewansh Singh Rajput published a video review of the film on his YouTube channel in which he made some worrisome allegations against the film. Though he repeatedly acknowledged that the acting by Aamir Khan was up to the mark, Rajput pointed out that the movie had several scenes that were allegedly made to satisfy specific propaganda.

Rajput said several scenes targetted particular religions. The movie showed 84 anti-Sikh riots, emergency, Ram Mandir, Lal Krishna Advani, Kargil war, and 26/11, and they have linked Khan’s character to it.

One of the most problematic things they have depicted in the film is that a mentally challenged person was allowed to join Army.

It is a well-known fact that the best army personnel were sent to fight the Kargil war. How Khan’s character fits into that criteria remained a mystery. Other films revolving around the Kargil war, like Lakshya, showed how rigorously trained army personnel fought the war. In short, such things could have been avoided.

Furthermore, Rajput pointed out that LSC could not even differentiate between Indian Army personnel and Pakistan’s soldiers or terrorist, whoever that character was, and picked him the safety.

In the movie, there was a scene where LSC and that Pakistani soldier or terrorist were having a conversation. This was the point when LSC realized that that person was from Pakistan, but he continued to have a conversation with him. He further offered to do business with the Pakistani personnel in the film.

In one scene, the Pakistani personnel asked LSC, “I offer namaz and pray, Laal, why don’t you do the same?” LSC replied, “My mother said all this Puja Paath is malaria. It causes riots.”

Aamir Khan has a history of mocking Hindus and indulging in anti-India activities

In the past, Aamir Khan has worked in films that targeted Hindus, Hinduism, and India on many levels. For example, in the film PK, Khan’s character continuously targets Hindu Gods and Goddesses to mark his statements. The scene where he was seen chasing a man dressed as Bhagwan Shiva has been ridiculed by the viewers many times. In the film 3 Idiots, he often ridicules the character Raju for praying to the Gods and Goddesses.

Aamir Khan, in an interview, said his then-wife Kiran Rao was afraid of living in India and wanted to shift out. In an older interview, Khan targeted then CM of Gujarat Narendra Modi and blamed him for the 2002 Gujarat riots. Khan also participated in Narmada Bachao Andolan with Medha Patkar and deprived Gujaratis of water for years.

Mera Picha Chorho Behen: Was Rishabh Pant’s cryptic Instagram post meant for Urvashi Rautela? Here is what we know

A ‘deleted’ Instagram post by India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has gone viral on social media as it was allegedly directed towards actress Urvashi Rautela. This Instagram story posted by Rishabh Pant was deleted within 10 minutes but it was enough time for the fans to notice it, and since then its screenshot has gone viral on social media.

In his Instagram story, the 24-year-old left-handed batsman wrote, “It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meager popularity and for hitting the headlines. Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them.” The post also included two hashtags ‘#merapichachorhobehen’ and ‘#jhutkibhilimithotihai’.

This post by Rishabh Pant is assumed to be in response to actress Urvashi Rautela’s interview with Bollywood Hungama a day earlier where she mentioned a “Mr. RP”. A clip of this interview by the Hate Story 4 star had recently gone viral. In this interview, Urvashi Rautela said that some Mr. RP was waiting for her to meet in a hotel lobby but she fell asleep as she was tired of shooting and traveling. She said, “I was shooting in Varanasi. I had a show in New Delhi so I had to take a flight from Varanasi. In New Delhi, I was shooting a full day and after about 10 hours of shooting when I went back, I had to get ready and you know that girls take a lot of time to get ready. So, Mr. RP came and he was waiting in the lobby like he wanted to meet me. I was so tired that I dozed off. I didn’t realize that I had received so many calls.”

Refusing to take the full name of Mr. RP. she further said in this interview, “So, when I woke up, I saw 16-17 missed calls and then I felt so bad. That, someone, was waiting for me and I didn’t go. Out of respect, because a lot of girls don’t care about making someone wait, out of that show of respect, I told him that let’s meet when you’ll come to Mumbai. He came to Mumbai, we met, and as soon as we came out those paps and all, all that drama happened. You do this to give respect to the other person but sometimes I feel that the media is such that it ruins something like this which is just about to develop into anything.”

According to reports, the two were regularly photographed by the media having lunch together or attending events side by side in 2018. However, later rumors emerged that Pant has blocked Urvashi on WhatsApp. Later, it was revealed that the two had mutually decided to block one another on the messaging app.

In such a situation, it will be difficult to maintain respect for the Tricolour, knowingly or unknowingly. Please look into it.”

Did Amul print National Flag on its packets?

While there is an outrage against Amul for printing the ‘national flag’ on its packets, the fact is that it is not the national flag of India. What Twitter users think is National Flag is, in reality, the logo of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.” Amul has printed the logo and called for the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement. The logo that has been imprinted on the Amul milk packets is available on the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ website for download at zero cost.

Amul Used ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ logo freely available at amritmahotsav.nic.in’s download section. Source: amritmahotsav.nic.in

Therefore, Amul did not print Indian National Flag on its milk packets. Netizens confused the logo of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which has a depiction of Tiranga, with the National Flag. The claims that Amul disrespected the National Flag are false.

Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to hoist the Indian National flag to mark the 75th year of India’s Independence. The aim is not only to strengthen the personal connection to the nation but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building. It will provoke a feeling of patriotism in the hearts of citizens of India and will promote awareness about the National Flag.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a Government of India initiative to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of Independence and the glorious history of the people, culture, and achievements of India. It is dedicated to the people of India who have fuelled the evolutionary journey of the country. The campaign was started on March 12, 2021, and will end on August 15, 2023, marking 75 weeks of celebrations.

Maharashtra: Income tax officials reach Jalna in 120 cars with ‘Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge’ stickers, seize assets worth Rs 390 crore in raids

The income tax department has taken major action in Jalna against black money in the first week of August 2022 in which unaccounted assets worth Rs 390 crores have been recovered so far. A number of teams from the IT department carried out the search operations at residences, properties, and factories of various steel industrialists in Jalna from 1st August 2022 to 8th August 2022. The recovered assets include Rs 58 crores in cash, 32 kilograms of gold, diamonds worth crores, and documents related to properties worth more than Rs 300 crores.

The income tax department conducted searches at many locations at the same time deploying various squads. The department looked into the three rolling mills at the new MIDC, as well as the financial transactions associated with them. The people raided include a major property developer and businessman from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad).

The income tax department officers disguised themselves as wedding guests so that no one knew they were on their way for the raid. Income tax officers arrived in Jalna in vehicles decorated with ‘Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge’ stickers. The fleet had 260 officers and 120 vehicles. The raids began on August 1 and the process lasted eight days.

Jalna is well-known in Maharashtra for its steel industry. However, the income tax department has brought the illicit steel manufacturing sector to light. The income tax authorities raided the steel manufacturing firms’ homes, farms, and offices. The fact that these four large steel factories in Jalna received extra revenue from transactions totaling millions of rupees and cashed these transactions was not documented. As a result, the income tax department carried out its raid in a very covert manner.

The squad initially came up empty-handed. However, as the squad raided a farmhouse outside of town, chaos set in. Money was discovered in bundles under the beds and in the cupboard. Huge cash was discovered at three factory workers’ residences. Additionally, gold ornaments, gold bricks, gold biscuits, coins, and diamonds were unearthed. 32 kilograms of gold in total were recovered. Unaccounted assets worth Rs 300 crore were also discovered in these raids.

In Aurangabad, two businessmen were also raided. They were found to have 58 crores in cash. There were 25 cloth bags filled with bundles of notes. The local state bank was then visited to count the entire amount. Around 11 am, the counting began, and it was completed at 1 pm.

Calcutta High Court stays probe into case against ‘artist’ for posting intimate portrait of Lord Krishna and Radha on Facebook

0

The Calcutta High Court recently ordered a stay on the investigation in an FIR filed against an ‘artist’ who posted a depiction of an intimate scene between Lord Krishna and Radha on social media.

Staying the probe in the matter, the Bench of Justice Shampa Sarkar noted that prima facie the criminal complaint in the case didn’t disclose a cognizable offence and that the registration of the FIR against the petitioner over the FB Post curtailed the right to freedom of speech under Article 19(1)(g) of the Constitution of India.

The court noted that the post was a portrait that was previously widely accessible in art galleries and in many illustrated and translated editions of “Geet Govinda.”

Court asked the Inspector-in-Charge, Cyber Crime Police Station, Raiganj, Uttar Dinajpur to produce the order of the Metropolitan Magistrate, on the basis of which the investigation was initiated.

“Further decisions will be taken as to whether this writ petition shall be heard on the facts and law pleaded or the petitioner will be relegated to the appropriate forum under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, on perusal of the records to be produced by the investigating officer,” Court added.

The matter will be next heard on November 1, 2022.

According to reports, the stated portrait of the Hindu God and Goddess had been on exhibit at Christie’s, an auction house. Jayarshi Bhattacharya, a student ‘artist’, and petitioner, later, shared the same on Facebook.

Subsequently, a case was registered based on a complaint filed by one Prasun Maitra, alleging that the concerned post might hurt religious sentiments and instigate communal animosity. The FIR was filed in accordance with Sections 67 of the Information Technology Act and 295A of the Indian Penal Code.

Bihar: Ram Janki temple priest beheaded in Bettiah, severed head kept at nearby Pipra Kali temple

On Tuesday, a priest of a Ram Janaki temple was brutally murdered in Bettiah, Bihar. The murderers severed his head and placed it in the nearby Pipra Kali temple sending shock waves to the entire city. The incident is said to have taken place at Ram Janaki temple in Bakulhar village which falls under the Gopalpur police station area of Chanpatia block, Bettiah.

The Pujari used to sleep in the temple at night, and like every day, he slept on Tuesday also after completing daily rituals and closing all doors and gates. However, the miscreants entered the temple by calling a wall in the night and killed him.

According to the reports, the accused separated the head of the priest and carried it to the Pipra Kali temple looked after by the Jaitiya Panchayat. The Kali temple is around 2 km away from the Ram Janaki temple.

The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when the devotees entered both the temples for morning prayers. They saw the body and the severed head at the respective temples and immediately informed the Police. The killer left behind a chappal which was found in the temple premises.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigating the case. DSP Mukul Parimal Pandey also reached the spot along with the team of the dog squad. The priest identified as Rudal Sah was a resident of Bakulhar village and had been working as a priest at the Ram Janaki temple in the village for 40 years. Reports mention that while the police are investigating into the case, the objective of the murder is not yet clear. Police collected both parts of the body and has sent for postmortem.

According to the villagers, the priest Rudal Sah was deaf and mute. He has two sons and a daughter to survive after him. The villagers who are enraged over the incident also raised slogans against the police and the administration. The police however have said that they will solve the case within 24 hours and nab the culprits. At present, the police officers from three nearby police stations are investigating the case.

To note, this is the third murder case reported hours after Bihar CM Nitish joined hands with Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son in Jungleraj redux. Earlier on Tuesday, a journalist named Gokul Yadav was shot dead by five miscreants in Simultala block of Jamui district of Bihar. The journalist was shot five times in his chest and head in broad daylight while he was on his way to the market from his house.

Also, a Buddha Toyota showroom was infiltrated on Tuesday night by 12 masked miscreants on the National Highway (NH) near Didarganj toll plaza in Patna, Bihar and a private security guard was stabbed to death. The Police in the case are analyzing the CCTV footage and are trying to identify the miscreants.

Laal Singh Chaddha tanks on opening day, even festive cheer fails to bring in audience: Here are booking numbers

Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chadda, a remake of the Hollywood iconic movie Forrest Gump, is all set to release in theatres today on August 11. As the movie hits the theatres today, Laal Singh Chaddha has struggled to increase its advance ticket sales during the last five days since the start of advance booking.

As of Wednesday morning, or T-1, just 30,000 tickets for the Aamir Khan-starring movie had been sold at the three national chains, PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. In terms of all India sales, Laal Singh Chaddha sold approximately 57,000 tickets for the opening day.

In the national multiplex chains, Laal Singh Chaddha’s T-1 is almost 50% lower than Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and on par with Varun Dhawan’s Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Jug Jugg Jeeyo sold 57,000 tickets in the national chains, compared to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s 1.05 lakh sales across all three chains on opening day.

It’s important to note that, even after taking into consideration the extra-long (five-day) weekend, Laal Singh Chaddha’s final advances lagged below that of Kartik Aryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and the Ranvir Singh-starring movie 83.

As the film’s advances are below average and indeed exceedingly dismal for a holiday release, the only thing the makers of Laal Singh Chadda can rely on is the spot bookings. On August 11, the producers might be in for a major shock if the spot bookings are not in line with expectations.

Notably, only hours after the Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chadda hit the theatre today, noted film critic Taran Adarsh Today, put out a strongly worded tweet wherein he reviewed the latest Aamir Khan release in one word. “Disappoints,” Tweeted Taran Aadarsh giving the movie a two-star rating.

“#AamirKhan’s comeback vehicle #LSC runs out of fuel midway… Lacks a captivating screenplay to enthrall you [second half goes downhill]… Has some terrific moments, but lacks fire in totality,” Tweeted the movie critic.

In fact, yesterday, a day prior to the release of the movie, Taran Adarsh also shared that the advance bookings of Lal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Rakshabandhan are way below expectations.

Adarsh further added that both the movies need word of mouth and walk-in audience/spot bookings to get a decent opening on Thursday.

It is notable here that boycott calls against Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chaddha have mired the promotion of the big-budget movie that is the official remake of Tom Hanks’s classic Forrest Gump. Aamir Khan’s anti-India statements in the past, his negative and derogatory portrayal of Hindu Gods in is movie PK and his overtly political statements of the past have all been adding to the prevailing sentiments of rejection among the audience of Hindi cinema.

Even Kareena Kapoor’s past statements of mocking the audience and participating in politically motivated campaigns have stirred negative sentiments against the movie.

A number of social media posts also say that the advance booking of the movie is negligible and the movie may be looking at failure.

Laal Singh Chaddha: Lieutenant Dan’s character has been ‘converted’ into a Pakistani terrorist named ‘Mohammad’ to peddle Aamir Khan’s usual propaganda

Aamir Khan’s comeback film Laal Singh Chaddha has been given a thumbs down by several critics. Though the movie was already facing boycott calls on social media and early booking signalled a failure, the much-hyped movie has now been given negative reviews by several film critics.

India Today’s review of the movie has called out Aamir Khan’s bad acting performance. They have termed Khan as the worst thing about the movie.

India Today gives a thumbs down to Lal Singh Chaddha

As per India Today, Aamir Khan has given a terribly disappointing performance and has made the legendary character of Forrest Gump played by Tom Hanks look like a ‘retarded’ person in its adaptation as Laal Singh. It is notable here that Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump, of which LSC is an ‘official adaptation’, is a widely acclaimed Hollywood classic and had won several Oscars.

Aamir Khan’s acting was criticised a lot even after the trailer of the movie was released. After the opening, it seems the movie has taken liberties with the storyline to peddle Aamir Khan’s usual anti-Hindu propaganda that he is known for.

While Forrest Gump had rescued his own unit chief Lt Dan in Vietnam, carrying him on his back and running them both to safety, Laal Singh the ‘secular’ Chaddha here rescues a Pakistani terrorist named Mohammad. Let us not even go into the implausibility of how a trained Indian Army soldier cannot differentiate between his own brothers in the Army and the enemies. Aamir Khan’s compulsive propaganda peddling habits have perhaps overwhelmed his common sense.

And thus, Gary Sinise’s legendary, historic character from Forrest Gump becomes an Islamist terrorist, a ‘good’ person apparently because that is what Aamir Khan and Atul Kulkarni the writer wants Indians to swallow. This propaganda peddling doesn’t even stop here. The good terrorist is shown doing Namaz, (Lt Dan was an atheist and he later made peace with God, that was one of the best sub narratives in Forrest Gump) and our Laal Singh declares that Puja Path is useless, they only spread ‘malaria’.

The audience could easily have been okay with a character being an atheist, a non-believer, but because Bollywood’s czars cannot go without shaming Indian culture, mostly Hindu culture, Aamir Khan has to force-fit his propaganda here.

Even in PK, Sushant Singh’s character was a ‘good Pakistani’ named Yusuf. There is nothing wrong in showing a good Pakistani, but when you juxtapose them with ‘bad’ Indians and bad Indian religious habits repeatedly, somewhere down the line, the audience is going to realise that you have been taking them for a ride, selling lazy, gratuitous propaganda and trying to make a profit of the very people u keep mocking.

There are hundreds of social media posts saying the movie is a horrible adaptation, and Aamir Khan has been slammed for his pathetic overacting, trying to fake it too much.

Noted film critic Taran Adarsh has called Lal Singh Chaddha ‘disappointing’ and has given it only 2 stars.

Sure, there are the usual Bollywood mouthpieces singing praises for the movie, but since the movie releases just ahead of a long weekend, it may even pick up the pace and get some commercial success. But that doesn’t take out the fact that Bollywood is yet to get over its compulsive propaganda -peddling, its own habit of 50-something actors playing the roles of youngsters and its own habit of thinking the Indian audience can be easily fooled.
