Sonam Kapoor, daughter of Bollywood star Anil Kapoor, announced that she has been working on a “passion project” with Sharan Parischa. While making the announcement, she shared photographs of herself in a bizarre dress that has attracted mockery on social media.

One user on Twitter commented that the dressed seemed like a ‘door curtain’.
Sonam Kapoor has landed herself in other controversies in the past as well. Last year, she had inadvertently admitted that her father, Anil Kapoor, has connections with don Dawood through Indian cricket.
On another occasion, in an interview with a magazine based out of Middle East, a region of the world not famous for women’s rights, she had claimed that women are treated as second class citizens in India, drawing sharp criticism.
A picture of a man taking selfie with Aryan Khan went viral on social media, giving rise to speculations that the man in the picture was a starstruck NCB official. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) clarified that the man in the picture with Aryan Khan was not an officer or employee of NCB.

The picture showed the man taking a selfie with Aryan Khan who was recently detained and then arrested by the NCB after a raid at a rave party. Since the picture looked like it was taken in the close quarters of an office, it led some people on social media to believe the man was an NCB official who was starstruck by Aryan Khan.
The users reacted to the picture saying “This NCB official seems to be quite happy to take selfie,”, “Why is NCB officer taking selfie with the druggist??” and made other such comments.
Aryan Khan, son of bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after he was detained by the NCB during a raid conducted at a rave party. He was subsequently taken for a medical examination. The NCB has sought police remand as well.
An independent commission set up to uncover scandals and cases of child abuse in churches has estimated the presence of 2900 to 3200 paedophiles in Catholic Churches in France, reportedAgence France-Presse (AFP).
Jean-Marc Sauve, who headed the Commission, emphasised that about 3000 paedophile priests and Church members had operated in the French Catholic Church since the year 1950. Sauve shared the information prior to the release of the official report to the AFP. Earlier in November, he had conceded that the handling of such cases had been faulty. The Commission, which was set up by the Conférence des Religieux et Religieuses en France (CORREF) and Bishops’ Conference of France (CEF) in 2018, tried to quantify the number of victims and sexual offenders.
The Commission’s report is about 2500 pages long and puts up a minimum estimate of paedophiles working in the Church since 1950. AFP reported that the Commission was constituted in the aftermath of sex scandals that broke in the French Catholic Church and other churches in the world. The Commission includes 22 members from various disciplines including law, medical, history, sociology, and theology.
#UPDATE Some 3,000 paedophiles have operated inside the French Catholic Church since 1950, the head of an independent commission investigating the scandal told AFP, who added that that number was “a minimum estimate” https://t.co/OM9YyA5muO
While speaking about the matter, a Commission member and sociologist Philippe Portier remarked, “It’s not going to go easy on anyone”. Veronique Margron, the President of the CORREF conference, said, “I expect that we will be forced to confront this burden, as bleak as it is, so that we can then take the necessary measures”.
The President of Bishops’ Conference of France, Eric de Moulins-Beaufort, pointed out that the Commission report would highlight ‘significant’ and ‘frightening’ figures. At this point, it remains unclear as to how the Catholic Church will respond against the suspected paedophiles. Meanwhile, AFP added that criminal prosecution in such cases was highly unlikely.
New Zealand Catholic Church apologises to victims of abuse
Earlier in March, the Catholic Church of New Zealand had tendered an apology to the victims of abuse, including sexual abuse, within the church. Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington and Metropolitan of New Zealand, Cardinal John Dew apologised at the Royal Commission into Abuse and Care on behalf of the bishops and congregational leaders in New Zealand.
The Royal Commission into Abuse and Case was set up by New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in 2018 to inquire into and report on the responses of institutions to instances and allegations of historical abuse in state care and faith bases institutions between 1950 and 2000.
An interim report of the Commission released in December reportedly found up to a quarter of a million children, young people, and vulnerable adults were physically and sexually abused in the country’s faith-based and state care institutions from the 1960s to early 2000s. As per the Commission’s findings, the victims included children as young as nine months old who suffered years of abuse including rape and electric shock treatment by staff at psychiatric and state care facilities, clergy, and foster guardians.
On October 3, the official Twitter account of West Uttar Pradesh Congress Sevadal shared a video in which an electric rickshaw carrying police officers turned and fell on a water-logged road. Suggesting the video was from Uttar Pradesh, they wrote, “The Uttar Pradesh Police would have drowned in CM Yogi Adityanath Ji’s development. Narrowly saved!!”
Misleading tweet by Uttar Pradesh Congress Sevadal showing incident of Congress-Ruled Rajasthan as UP’s
But there was a twist. The video was not from BJP-ruled poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, but it was from Congress-ruled Rajasthan. Uttar Pradesh Police’s Fact Check department took cognizance of the tweet and quoted it with the correct information. They said, “The viral video is from district Dausa, Rajasthan, and not from Uttar Pradesh. Please do not spread rumours by posting misleading without verification.” Interestingly, they also added a screenshot of the misleading tweet in case Congress’s handle decided to delete the Tweet.
On October 1, it was reported by Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar that police personnel were crossing the waterlogged road towards Kolana Jail. There was around 3-feet deep water due to a pit on the road where the rickshaw carrying the police officers got stuck and fell. Five police personnel riding the rikshaw fell in the water. Notably, only after a 40-minute long heavy shower, the roads in the area were waterlogged. Residents have blamed local administration and PWD for not preparing for the monsoon season that has resulted in such incidents.
The achieved version of the misleading tweet can be seen here.
Veteran actor Ghanshyam Nayak, famous as ‘Natu Kaka’ in the long running TV serial Taarak Maheta Ka Oolta Chashmah, passed away today at the age of 77. The actor was suffering from prolonged illness, and was diagnosed with cancer.
Asit Kumarr Modi, creator of the show Taraak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, informed about the death on Twitter today evening.
Hamare pyaare #Natukaka@TMKOC_NTF hamare saath nahi rahe ?? @TMKOC_NTF
Ghanshyam Nayak was diagnosed with throat cancer in September last year, when doctors had detected a lump in his neck. After that, several tumours were removed from his body in surgery in September last year. While his health had improved after that, his situation had against deteriorated this year, and tests had confirmed that he was still carrying malignant tumours as some more spots were detected.
Ghanshyam Nayak’s son Vikas Nayak had confirmed earlier this year that his father was undergoing radiation and chemotherapy after more spots were found in tests.
In the popular serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Ghanshyam Nayak played the role of Natwarlal Prabhashankar Undhaiwala aka Natu Kaka, who is an employee at the electronics store run by Jethalal Gada.
Born on 12 May 1944, Ghanshyam Nayak appeared in a number of TV serials as well as films, and had worked in Gujarati theatre. As per DeshGujarat, he had appeared in about 100 Gujarati and Hindi Films and around 350 Hindi Television serials. Apart from that, he had also dubbed more than 350 Gujarati films.
Food bloggers Rocky and Mayur appear to have lost their temper after Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, was detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after a raid at a rave party. They had a spectacular meltdown on social media, going on a rant about the incident. Aryan Khan, meanwhile, has been arrested since then.
Source: Twitter
Rocky and Mayur suggested that Aryan was being targeted because of mala fide intentions and said that “big thieves”, in a not-so-subtle dig at Gautam Aadani, will continue to get away. After former TOI journalist Rohan Dua, currently editor at The New Indian, pointed out that a lobby was out to defend Aryan, the food bloggers took offense and said that he demanded to know about the drug bust in Gujarat, another dig at Adani.
Source: Twitter
Rocky and Mayur also dragged in Hindu Sadhus who consume marijuana in his bid to defend Aryan Khan. It is also not known what drugs were being consumed in the rave party raided by NCB. It is not known whether the individuals were consuming Marijuana or harder drugs. Thus, to make that argument is preposterous.
When Dua questioned whether he had reported any of these incidents to the police, the food bloggers decided to question his journalism instead.
Source: Twitter
The Gujarat drugs case the food bloggers were hinting at occurred in a port controlled by Adani. The heroin that was seized was smuggled from Afghanistan and the ship had arrived from Iran. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has taken custody of Chennai-based Machavaram Sudhakar and his wife Govindaraju Durga Purna Vaisali in connection with the matter.
Despite what people such as Rocky and Mayur might want to suggest, Adani was not personally involved in the drug bust. If Adani can be held responsible for criminals attempting to smuggle drug through his port, then restaurant owners will have to be charged if a customer opens fire at the establishment. It does not make any sense.
Dua suggested that he state it clearly if he wants marijuana to be legalized instead of making circular arguments. Highlighting the fact that the food bloggers did not report drug consumption to law enforcement authorities, he said, “If you didnt feel the urge to report it even from 5 feet distance, then what’s the fake concern and outrage even about?”

Rocky and Mayur are not the only ones who have invoked Adani to defend Aryan Khan over the drug bust. Liberals across the board have made the same argument in order to give Aryan a free pass. Unfortunately for them, the NCB does not appear to be in the mood to buy into the arguments.
They have arrested Aryan and other detainees over the matter and would seek police remand to continue their investigation into the matter.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee won Bhabanipur assembly after she defeated her nearest rival Priyanka Tibrewal of the BJP by a margin of 58,832 votes after counting was held on Sunday. A jubilant CM and boss of Trinamool Congress (TMC) Mamata Banerjee said that voters of Bhabanipur responded to their faith and claimed that this is a reply to such people who had hatched conspiracy to defeat her from Nandigram assembly seat.
Bhabanipur is a relatively small constituency that she represented twice in 2011 and 2016. Around 1.18 lakh voters had cast their votes in this bypoll that was held on 30th September, 2021. Banerjee registered the victory by a record margin of 58,832 votes. She secured 85,263 votes against her BJP rival who got 26428 votes. In 2011, she had won this seat with a margin of over 54,000 votes.
Mamata Banerjee claimed that about 46% of the electorate of Bhabanipur is ‘non-Bengali’ who voted for her overwhelmingly. Nevertheless, during the assembly poll she had played a Bengali- non-Bengali card. But even after such an astounding margin that Mamata Banerjee has flaunted, Priyanka Tibrewal had kept Mamata Banerjee worried throughout the by-poll.
The kind of alleged state sponsored unprecedented violence and persecution the BJP supporters and voters witnessed during the recently concluded assembly election of Bengal left a deep scar on the psyche of BJP supporters. Despite that the BJP dared challenging her despite the fact that the BJP is organizationally weak in Bhabanipur.
BJP’s Priyanka Tibrewal has alleged that Mamata Banerjee won by-poll with the help of fake voters. “People were not allowed to vote, otherwise the result would have been different. Fake voters were used to cast votes and by-poll was rigged,” she told the media. On day of voting, too, she had alleged that people were casting their votes on basis of fake voter ID.
The bypolls were conducted because Mamata Banerjee lost the Nandigram seat she was contesting from in elections held earlier this year to BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari. Adhikari, a former TMC leader was a close aide of Banerjee before he quit the party and joined the BJP. Mamata Banerjee swore in as CM even when she lost the Nandigram seat. Hence, for her to win the Bhabanipur bypolls was very crucial to hold on to her seat.
Though, the TMC legislative body unanimously elected her as chief minister but under the constitutional norms she had to become member of the house within six months of taking oath. Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay of TMC who won Bhabanipur by defeating BJP’s Rudranil Ghosh vacated this seat for Mamata Banerjee to contest the by-polls.
The Maharashtra government has decided to reopen the Mumba Devi temple from October 7 onwards, with certain restrictions that have now miffed the devotees. This comes afterCM Uddhav Thackeray had announced last month that religious places of worship will be reopened from the onset of the Navaratri festival.
ANI reported that the temple premises will be accessible for fully vaccinated individuals, while unvaccinated devotees need to register on the temple website and upload a negative COvid-19 certificate. Moreover, the Maharashtra government has barred the use of puja essentials, preventing devotees from offering flowers, garlands, or prasad to the deity.
Maharashtra: Mumba Devi Temple to open for fully-vaccinated devotees from Oct 7; registration at temple website & COVID negative certificate for unvaccinated persons must; flowers, garlands & prasad not to be allowed
Besides, the government had also prohibited the touching of idols, religious scriptures, and the sprinkling of Holy water. Devotees have also been asked to maintain a distance of 6 feet and use face masks/covers at all times. Children below the age of 10 years and senior citizens have been directed to stay at home.
The restrictions imposed on temple devotees have angered the netizens. A Twitter user asked, “Are the same protocols applicable to churches, mosques & gurudwaras?”
Are the same protocols applicable to churches, mosques & gurudwaras?
Another user took potshots at the government and said, “Flower, Prasad, garlands not allowed… Why did you reopen the temples then? Is it to allow making of Instagram reels on temple premises?”
Flower, Prasad, garlands not allowed… to Mandir khola kis liye hai? Insta reels banane ke liye?
On August 30, Chandrakant Patil, state chief BJP, held a ‘shankhanad andolan’ and sought the reopening of temples for the public. Protests were held by the party workers outside temples across the state in cities including Mumbai, Nashik, Pune, Nagpur, and Solapur. The party workers marched towards the temples blowing conch shells. Patil said, “The shankhanad is necessary to wake up the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, which is in deep slumber. Pleas demanding the reopening of temples have gone unheard for the past 15 months.”
Anna Hazare, the social activist, had also raised questions over the Maharashtra government’s orders to open bars and pubs in the state while the temples were still closed. Hazare has offered his support if devotees hold protests to lift curbs on the temples in the state.
A powerful bomb blast in a mosque in Kabul in Afghanistan killed several people today. The blast took place at the historic Eidgah mosque in the city. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid informed that the blast has left a number of civilian casualties.
— Zabihullah (..ذبـــــیح الله م ) (@Zabehulah_M33) October 3, 2021
Although the official number of casualties has not been released, social media posts suggest that at least 5 people have died and many more were injured in the blast. The blast took place near the entrance of the Eidgah mosque, the second largest mosque in Kabul located in the in Shar-e-Barq area.
Incidentally, the blast targeted the memorial prayers of the mother of Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid. Mujahid’s mother had passed away last Monday. Yesterday he had informed that the Fateha of his mother will be offered at the mosque today from 2 pm to 5 pm. This makes it clear that the bomb blast took place specifically to target the condolence prayer at the mosque.
So far, no terror group has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, since the Taliban took over the country in August, terror attacks by ISIS and its affiliated groups have increased in the country. Although adherents of same fundamental Islamic ideology, the Taliban and ISIS see each other as enemies.
On October 2, Narcotics Control Bureau raided a rave party that was happening on a cruise ship and arrested a few attendees, including Aryan Khan, son of actor Shah Rukh Khan. For few hours, the news reports did not reveal any name, but later, on October 3, NCB confirmed that Aryan was one of the detained individuals.
However, liberals and members of the Congress party and other ‘intellectuals’ got miffed by the reports. They invoked Adani port drug haul and alleged the government and NCB did not take any action on Adani but detailed Aryan just for ‘participating’ in the rave party.
In a tweet, Dr Shama Mohamed, National spokesperson, Indian National Congress, said, “NCB gets very busy arresting small fish on a cruise ship, but when it comes to the biggest fish of them all-the 3000 kg heroin smuggled from Adani’s Mundra port, NCB is completely mum. Why is NCB protecting the kingpins of the organised Drug Cartel & on whose orders!”
Congress Spokesperson Shama Mohamed thinks Adani is responsible for the drugs confiscated on Gujarat port
Shyam Meera Singh, journalist, News Click, brought out Aryan’s religion card and said, “Shahrukh’s son Aryan has only been detained for questioning, not arrested. No charges against him yet. But the entire Godi media is lagging behind due to him being a Muslim and a celebrity. Drugs worth 19 thousand crores were caught at Adani’s port. But No report was allowed anywhere.”
Journalist Shyam Meera Singh unnecessary comparing two completely different cases
Shyam Meera Singh was earlier employed with India Today group where he was fired over disciplinary grounds. However, despite that, he claimed martyrdom by dragging in PM Modi. In recent times, it has been quite lucrative for a lot of people to enhance their careers by abusing PM Modi and crying fascism.
Food critic and so-called intellectual duo Rocky and Mayur wrote, “My Lobby and I demand to know more about the thousands of kilos of drugs openly smoked in “Melas” and processions every day by sadhus and Nagas and openly so-also about the 3000 kilos bust in Gujarat-and, of course, this case, where did the drugs come from? When will they be caught?”
Rocky and Mayur’s meltdown on Twitter
To answer Rocky and Mayur’s question, the high quality heroin caught at Adani Port was smuggled from Afghanistan and the ship had sailed from Iran. Owing to alertness of Indian authorities, the drugs were seized. By the logic of Rocky and Mayur, if Adani is responsible for drugs caught in consignment at the port managed by them, the Kerala government should be responsible for the gold caught in rectum of smugglers at Cochin airport.
To answer Rocky and Mayur’s subsequent questions, the drugs were reportedly one Aashi Trading firm based out of Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has taken custody of Chennai-based Machavaram Sudhakar and his wife Govindaraju Durga Purna Vaisali. Further, investigation was also carried out in New Delhi, Chennai, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Mandvi, Gandhidham and Vijayawada in relation to the case.
What is more amusing is that when people more knowledgeable than Rocky and Mayur and with obvious more common sense tried to point out how their reasoning was flawed, they ‘hid’ the replies on the tweet.
Rocky and Mayur’s hidden replies
But like Rocky and Mayur, several other Twitter users brought down Twitters collective IQ by comparing the apples with oranges.

Why drug seizure at Adani port is not same as bunch of rich kids partying on cruise, snorting cocaine in middle of pandemic
Drug seizure at Adani port in Gujarat is not the same as a bunch of kids partying on a cruise ship in middle of a pandemic and allegedly doing drugs. Unlike what Congress and others with similar level of common sense want us to believe, drugs caught at Adani port were not smuggled by Adani himself. And that by no stretch of imagination means Gujaratis are drug addicts, as insinuated by Congress leaders.
However, the abysmally low IQ Congress supporters Twitter launched an attack on Adani Group after drugs worth Rs 9,000 crores were confiscated by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence(DRI) officials from Mundra Port in Gujarat’s Kutch. Since the port is managed by the Adani Group, Congress supporters and sympathisers, who harbour inexplicable animosity for the business conglomerate, rushed to Twitter and accused the chairman of the group, Gautam Adani, of using the port to smuggle the contraband. The situation went too far and the Adani group had to clarify that the law empowers the Government of India’s component authorities such as the Customs and the DRI to open, examine and seize any unlawful cargo and not the port operator, which in this case, was Adani Group.
In the case of Aryan Khan, he was allegedly present at the crime scene where a rave party was taking place. He was one of the attendees. Both cases are completely unrelated and attacking Adani over a rave party can only be described as a low-IQ political stunt.
