The Prime Minister said, “Kalyan Singh Ji gave voice to crores of people belonging to the marginalised sections of society. He made numerous efforts towards the empowerment of farmers, youngsters and women.” He added, “Generations to come will remain forever grateful to Kalyan Singh Ji for his contributions towards India’s cultural regeneration. He was firmly rooted in Indian values and took pride in our centuries old traditions.”
Home Minister Amit Shah, too, shared his condolences and recalled his contribution towards the development of the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh breathed his last on Saturday after being critical following a minor heart attack. He was 89 at the time of his death. He passed away following a multi organ failure.
Chaos and disorder have been the prevailing state of affairs at Kabul airport since the Taliban formally took over Afghanistan on Sunday this week. Since then, a raft of people has flocked to the airport fearing persecution from the Talibani regime and in a desperate bid to fly out of the country.
Thousands of people were seen queuing up outside the Kabul International Airport, hoping to get inside and catch a flight right out of the country. However, a report published in Sky News says the condition exacerbated this morning as people standing in the front of the queue found themselves crushed as mayhem swept over the place.
The foreign soldiers had little time, to process and help the victims as the huge crowd of people jostled and pushed to get inside the airport. Scores of people reportedly died in the stampede that ensued outside the airport premises, the report said, as officials were seen covering the dead with white sheets.
US and Chinese embassy in Afghanistan urge their nationals to refrain from travelling to Kabul airport
With chaos engulfing Kabul airport and much of Afghanistan, the United States embassy in Afghanistan, which is operating from the military side of the airport, urged American citizens to avoid travelling to the airport citing “potential security threat”.
“Because of potential security threats outside the gates at the Kabul airport, we are advising U.S. citizens to avoid travelling to the airport and to avoid airport gates at this time unless you receive individual instructions from a U.S. government representative to do so”, the embassy said in its latest security alert issued today.
“U.S. citizens requesting assistance in departing the country who have not yet to completed the Repatriation Assistance Request for each traveller in their group should do so as soon as possible. Spouses and minor children of U.S. citizens in Afghanistan who are awaiting immigrant visas should also complete this form if they wish to depart,” the embassy said in the alert. The statement also asked people not to call the embassy, and added that filling the form is the only way to contact them.
Similarly, the Chinese embassy in Kabul also asked Chinese nationals to stay away from Kabul airport and other sites that are prone to violent flare-ups. In fact, the Chinese embassy went a step ahead and even asked its citizens to strictly abide by Islamic customs, including the code of dressing and dining in public.

After a month-long offensive against the Afghan army, the Islamist outfit Taliban finally reached the gates of Kabul on Sunday (August 15). They entered Afghanistan’s presidential palace hours after President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.
Since then surreal scenes have emerged as people try to flee the country to save their lives. Visuals of Afghan people falling from the sky as they tried to escape while hanging on to the wheels of the aeroplanes have gone viral on social media. The Taliban terrorists have been seen enjoying themselves as the amusement park as well in other surreal scenes.
While the Taliban has promised to preserve women’s rights and grant amnesty to everyone who had run afoul with the terror outfit, the situation on the ground tells a different story. There have been reports emerging from Kabul and other parts of Afghanistan that say the Taliban terrorists have been hunting down their adversaries and exacting revenge from those whom they perceive to have helped the United States and NATO forces. This has added to the panic among the people, who are now either going underground or rushing towards the airport to escape the country.

Kalyan Singh, one of the foremost icons of the Hindutva movement
Kalyan Singh has earned immense respect for his conduct during the Ram Janmabhoomi Movement. At no point in time has he expressed any regret over what happened on that fateful day. He did not open fire at the Kar Sevaks and he sacrificed his position as the Chief Minister for it. For that, he remains one of the icons of the Hindutva Movement.
Days leading to December 6, 1992, thousands of karsevaks, harbouring the dream of getting the Ram Janmabhoomi back flocked to Ayodhya and protested against the disputed structure that symbolised centuries of Muslim tyranny and oppression. On December 6, 1992, a raft of restive karsevaks stormed the premises of the disputed structure, scaled its heights and razed to ground the buildings that were claimed by Hindus as illegal construction over the hallowed Ram Janmabhoomi.
Singh was the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, under whose leadership, the controversial structure in Ayodhya was levelled to the ground. In the aftermath of the demolition, Singh’s government was sacked and President’s rule was imposed in Uttar Pradesh. Years later, in a freewheeling interview with an NDTV journalist, who’d rather have the karsevaks die to save the ‘secular’ fabric of the country, Singh said he had no regrets, repentance or contrition for what transpired in Ayodhya on that fateful day.
“I am not sorry for the demolition of the structure. Nor do I feel any contrition for it. No regrets, no repentance, no sorrow, no grief. Following the demolition of the controversial structure, many regard the event as a matter of national shame but I say that it is a matter of national pride,” Singh added.
Wish to see Ram Temple before death and take rebirth in the temple town once again: Kalyan Singh
More recently, Singh in his interview that took place last year, claimed that he was proud of his decision to not allow the police to open fire on karsevaks in Ayodhya on December 6, 1992. Singh added that it was the demolition of the disputed structure that paved the way for the Ram Temple bhoomi pujan scheduled on August 5, 2020. Singh further said that he wished to see Ram Mandir come up in Ayodhya before his death and take rebirth in the temple town once again.
BJP spokesperson Shazia Ilmi has taken to Twitter to question AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on the scams committed by his party after the latter endorsed the allegations made by his aide and Delhi’s Deputy CM about central agencies been given a list of 15 names by PM Modi to file ‘fake’ cases against them.
Taking a sarcastic jibe at the Arvind Kejriwal govt, which like other opposition parties had also made misleading assertions that the government of India is using spyware Pegasus to snoop on journalists, Indian ministers, Supreme Court judges, opposition leaders and other notable personalities, the BJP leader asked him as to which spyware has his party used to unravel the classified information that the central government is set to target 15 AAP members.
@BJP4India@shaziailmipic.twitter.com/Svm80kXKOM
“Has your party actually committed scams? which are those scams that you are wanting to hide by creating an anticipatory environment like this one?”, questioned Ilmi.
In the 1:15 minute video uploaded on Twitter Shazia Ilmi further questions Kejriwal’s stoic silence over the 2018 infamous chief secretary assault case in which the police had booked Kejriwal and his 12 other aides including Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia, MLAs Amanatullah Khan, Prakash Jarwal, Nitin Tyagi, Rituraj Govind, Sanjeev Jha, Ajay Dutt, Rajesh Rishi, Rajesh Gupta, Madan Lal, Parveen Kumar and Dinesh Mohania.
For the uninitiated, the Delhi Chief Secretary in February 2018 had alleged that he was beaten up by AAP MLAs in the presence of Kejriwal at the Chief Minister’s residence where he was questioned over the delay in publishing TV advertisements in a late-night meeting he had been called for.
Here she again urges Kejriwal, who she says is an expert in shoot and scoot tactics, levelling false accusations at others and over-dramatising issues, to plead guilty to the offences and scams committed by him and his party members. “Are you scared of owning up?” questions Ilmi taking a sarcastic jibe at Kejriwal.
Shazia Ilmi’s video message was in response to Arvind Kejriwal’s Tweet where he seconded Sisodia’s alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shared the names of 15 people with Delhi Police, CBI and ED and asked them to “conduct raids and file fake FIRs” against those on the list.
Delhi’s Deputy CM had while addressing a virtual press conference here on Saturday, August 21, manufactured a bizarre allegation by citing some ‘sources’.
“We have learnt from reliable sources that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has handed over a list of 15 people to the CBI, the ED and the Delhi Police asking them to conduct raids and file fake FIRs against them (people on the list) in order to ruin them before the next elections,” Sisodia alleged.
Sisodia also claimed that Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana has promised to get the job done.
“Rakesh Asthana is Modiji’s ‘brahmastra’. He has promised that come what may, he will get the job done,” he said.
The AAP leader said his party does politics of truth and honesty. “You can send the CBI and the ED, we will welcome them,” he said, adding that the BJP is scared of AAP’s rising popularity.
Chinese media has once threatened India after a terror attack at the East Bay Road in Gwadar, located in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. Global Times, state media of China, has insinuated an Indian hand behind the attack.
Global Times said in its editorial, “The China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has become a target of some terror forces in Pakistan, which has something to do with the incitement of some international forces.”
It proceeded to add, “In this region, some US and Indian intelligence forces keen to infiltrate into Pakistan have held a hostile attitude toward China’s BRI. Blocking the development of the BRI has become their main target to contain China’s rise. And, the terror attack that targeted Chinese engineers who worked for the Dasu hydropower project is said to be fuelled by the Indian intelligence agency.”
Source: Twitter
The editorial went on to claim that “international forces must have influenced and incited terror forces in Pakistan.” It said, “China must be prepared for a long-term fight, together with the Pakistani government, against terrorism in Pakistan. China needs to resolutely support the Pakistani government to crack down on terrorism.”
In conclusion, the said, “China will not only support Pakistan to strike a heavy blow to these terror forces, but also warn all the external forces to stay away from those terror forces. Once China obtains evidence that they support terrorist forces in Pakistan, China will punish them.”
Meanwhile, the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan has demanded that authorities “conduct a thorough investigation on the attack, and severely punish the perpetrators.” “At the same time, relevant departments at all levels in Pakistan must take practical and effective measures to accelerate to implement strengthened whole-process security measures and upgraded security cooperation mechanism to ensure that similar incidents will not happen again,” it said in a statement.
Implications of the statement for Pakistan by the Chinese Embassy and Global Times
The stern words by the Chinese Embassy on the terror attack make it clear that China is building pressure on Pakistan to appropriately punish the perpetrators of the attack. Furthermore, it is also evident that China seeks to play a greater role in the internal affairs of Pakistan citing the battle against terrorism as an excuse.
The editorial by Global Times is particularly revealing as it is deliberately ambiguous on the role it seeks to play in the battle against terrorists operating within the territory of their ally. It says clearly that ‘China will punish them’ but remains ambiguous on whether it will punish the perpetrators on Pakistani soil or take the fight to India.
They say that they will assist Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism but it does not appear likely that Imran Khan has invited them over to assist the Pakistani military in Balochistan. It does seem that China is foisting its assistance on Imran Khan without taking into consideration his own opinion on the matter.
The main takeaway of it all appears that China may be tinkering with the possibility of violating Pakistani sovereignty by entering their territory, whether they approve of it or not, using the ruse of ‘India sponsored terrorism’ as an excuse.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan does not appear to be in a position to take a strong stance against China and his country has a historical record of having their sovereignty violated by bigger powers it allies with. For instance, US Navy Seals entered Pakistani territory without informing local authorities to eliminate terrorist Osama bin Laden in 2011.
Pakistan could suffer a similar fate as Chinese armed forces could enter its territory against its will to eliminate terrorists in their soil, which would be a gross violation of their sovereignty. But all things considered, it might just end up being another insult Imran Khan will have to swallow ‘for the greater good’.
In his latest video on the rampant forced conversions taking place in the country and their genesis, comedian Nitin ‘Rivaldo’ Gupta spoke about the elaborate narrative weaved by the intellectuals to whitewash the atrocities committed by Islamists against Dalits in medieval India.
Gupta said the entire construct that Brahmins are to be blamed for the conversions of Dalits into Islam is a fig leaf, intended to conceal the harsh reality that most of the conversions that took place after the Islamic invasion of India, happened under duress and not out of the free will.
“Apologists and sympathisers of Islamists would have us believe that Dalits in medieval India converted to Islam because they wanted to escape oppression by the upper caste Brahmins. But, why did Jains, Buddhists, Parsis were also forced to cover? Have they also had a caste system that members of the community converted to Islam to escape oppression?” Gupta asks.
“Much like Brahmins, the Dalits, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and members of other communities were provided with two options—either embrace Islam or suffer death. Left with no option, the beleaguered people had to convert to Islam or face a torturous death,” Gupta continued.
It is a well-documented fact, Gupta said, that conversions to Islam were made at the point of sword, and that conquered people were given the choice of conversion or death. He cites the memoir of Turko-Mongol marauder Timur to back his assertion. Timur had in his autobiography stated that he intended to conquer India and bring the residents of the country to the true faith(Islam).
You can watch the entire video here.
“For the Islamic invaders, right from the first one, Mohammed Bin Qasim, under whom first documented deaths due to forced conversions took place in India, and the those who followed him, Dalits, Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis and others were all same. Their main aim was to convert everyone and spread Islam,” Gupta averred.
However, Gupta said the “intellectuals” in our country have been bent on covering up for the Islamic invaders and their proclivity of carrying out forced conversions. Be it Kanhaiya Kumar, or the leftists in West Bengal, who in 1989 ordered that children in schools must not be told about Islamic invaders and their practice of destroying temples of other faiths, Gupta said.
Ambedkar did not loathe Brahmins, instead some of his closed ones were all Brahmins: Nitin Gupta
Debunking another myth that Dr BR Ambedkar was against Brahmins, Gupta said the chief architect of India’s constitution got his surname from his teacher Krishnaji Keshav Ambedkar, who was a Deshastha Brahmin. He also added that Mr Ambedkar’s second wife, Sharda Kabir, who took care of him in his later stage of life, was a Saraswat Brahmin.
Furthermore, it was Ambedkar’s friend, Arjun Keluskar, another Brahmin, who gave him books on Lord Buddha, which is said to have influenced his decision of embracing Buddhism later.
Drawing attention to the recent cases of forced conversions taking place in the country, Gupta said Dalits are now being oppressed by Islamists to accept Islam.
Equality in Islam is a myth: Nitin Gupta
Gupta further added that the notion that there are no castes within the Muslim society is mistaken. He cited Dr BR Ambedkar’s writings to assert that the Muslim community is divided into three castes—Ashraf, who trace their origin either to western or central Asia (for instance Syed, Sheikh, Mughal, Pathan and upper caste converts. The remaining two are Ajlaf (backward Muslims) and Arzal (Dalit Muslims).
“The apologists of Islamists are covering up the cases of rampant conversions taking place across the country. Be it love jihad case of Dalit girl Kavita, who was entrapped by a Muslim man by assuming a Hindu identity, or the forced conversions of Mahadalits in Haryana’s Mewat, Dalits are being oppressed by the Islamists to abandon their religion and accept Islam,” said Gupta while wondering the extent of the cover-up that took place when the country was under the rule of Muslim rulers.
“In a democratic country like ours, if this is the level of whitewashing taking place, just imagine the level and extent of the cover-up and rewriting of history that would have taken place under the rule of Muslim rulers,” Gupta said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, August 18, interacted with Indian athletes after their success at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. While interacting with Tae-sang, Indian shuttler PV Sindhu’s Korean coach, PM Modi asked him whether he had visited Ayodhya. He then asked him to visit the place as there is a historical bond between South Korea and India. On expected lines, PM Modi’s suggestion to the Korean coach has ruffled the feathers of the Congress party.
Many left-liberals also attacked PM Modi on social media for bringing up Ayodhya while talking to Sindhu’s coach. Congress party’s Maharashtra SC chairman and a cabinet minister in the Uddhav Thackeray ministry, Nitin Raut, today took to Twitter to accuse the Prime Minister of playing politics over the sacred city. “This is his nauseating 24×7 politics”, exclaimed the senior Congress leader, sharing a snippet of Modi’s interaction with India’s Olympic heroes’ coach over breakfast.

Knowing his party’s perception of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir issue, Raut’s remark does not come as a surprise, however, his ignorance is distressing.
As rightly said by PM Modi, there is a special relationship between Ayodhya and South Korea. According to legends, Queen Hu was Suriratna, an Ayodhya princess who journeyed to South Korea in 48 AD to marry King Suro of Geumgwan Gaya. The princess is thought to have arrived in Korea by ship. She was dubbed Queen Hu Hwang ok after marrying the king. They formed the Karak dynasty in the present-day Gimhae province of South Korea, along with King Kim Suro.
According to reports, millions of Koreans trace their lineage to the dynasty founded by Queen Hur Hwang and King Suro. They consider Ayodhya to be the maternal home of their ancient Queen and that is the reason Ayodhya sees hundreds of Korean visitors every year.
In fact, OpIndia had reported that Bimlendra Pratap Mishra, a member of the Royal Family of Ayodhya had recounted his cordial relationship with the Korean Royal Family. He said that he was invited to South Korea by the Royal Family as they believed that they are the descendants of a princess of Ayodhya. Kim Jong-Pilmm the then Prime Minister of South Korea, was the 72nd generation descendant of King Kim Suro of the Garak Kingdom.
Health experts have once again questioned the cognitive abilities of US President Joe Biden after he bungled his way through an interview on Afghanistan with George Stephanopoulos of ABC. Joe Biden has earlier suffered from two brain aneurysms and a heart condition that causes dizziness and confusion.
Top cardiologists told Mainonline that both the conditions are linked to cognitive memory difficulties and confusion, as well as dementia. Dr. Aseem Malhotra, an NHS consultant, told Mailonline, ‘Just as a doctor observing him, given his medical history and age, I’m worried about early onset dementia… I would be worried about anyone exhibiting issues with recall and memory at Joe Biden’s age.’
Dr. Amit Bajaj, associate professor in speech science at Emerson University in Boston, Massachusetts, too concurred that Joe Biden could be committing more and more gaffes due to a cognitive decline due to his old age.
Dr. Bajaj said, ‘He has a reputation for gaffes. It’s hard to say if it is interlacing with anticipatory anxiety… I think there are several contributing factors. Part of is the speech. Part of it is cognitively where he might be at because he is old. But the relative influence of any one of them is uncertain. It’s probably a mix of both.’
But others disagreed and said that his gaffes are not necessarily indicative of a cognitive decline. James Rowe, a dementia and neurodegeneration expert at Cambridge University, said that such gaffes ‘are common and do not in themselves indicate a condition, let alone dementia’.
Professor Sophie Scott, an expert in cognitive neuroscience, told Mailonline, ‘Forgetfulness is a normal part of ageing – names in particular can be a problem for people as they age, maybe because there is not much information in a name to help you to connect it to the person.’
Joe Biden gaffe during ABC interview
During the interview with Stephanopoulos, Joe Biden claimed incorrectly that his late son Beau served in the Navy in Afghanistan before correcting himself that he served in the Army in Iraq. The moments where he committed the gaffes were not aired but were revealed in the transcript that were revealed.
Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson had said earlier that ABC had selectively edited the interview to remove portions where Biden appeared incoherent. Carlson remarked, “ABC News appears to have chosen to edit out portions that made Joe Biden look, how to put it, not presidential, incoherent, confused.”
“We think it’s worth knowing what happened, especially in a moment of national crisis,” he added.
Biden’s past gaffes
Americans had questioned his mental health after Joe Biden made an appearance on a CNN Townhall. The appearance was marked by the US President rambling incoherently and other unfortunate errors.
In another video that went viral on social media recently, Biden responded to a question saying, “Are there people in the Republican Party who think we are sucking the blood out of kids?” People had questioned who was running the country, given Biden’s health condition.
Earlier in May, veterans had questioned his health and his fitness to lead the United States of America. “The mental and physical condition of the Commander in Chief cannot be ignored. He must be able to quickly make accurate national security decisions involving life and limb anywhere, day or night,” they had said in a letter.
Former President Donald Trump had repeatedly questioned Biden’s mental health during the 2020 presidential campaign, but the mainstream media and ‘experts’ brushed aside concerns and dubbed it a ‘conspiracy theory’.
Muslims participating in a Muharram procession in Purnia district in Bihar reportedly attacked a car, which was trying to pass through the procession, with iron rods and sticks. The mob also allegedly looted Rs 7000 in cash and mobile phones from the family that was travelling in the car. The incident reportedly happened on Friday, August 20, on NH-31 near Moosapur in Katihar’s Korha police station area. The video of the incident has been doing the rounds on social media.
According to one of the victims- Mohd Masood Alam, a resident of Doomar, they were returning home from Purnia after the treatment of his mother when their car got stuck in the Muharram procession on NH-31. The driver was following an ambulance and slowly trying to move the car through the procession when it mistakingly touched a person in the crowd. Though there was hardly any impact nor was anyone hurt, the mob got so infuriated that they attacked the car with rods and sticks.
The mob broke all the windows and the windscreen of the car. They assaulted Masood Alam and his family members, who were sitting in the car and also snatched their mobile phones and money.
Masood’s mother- Amina Khatoon and three other family members, namely Tabassum Khatoon (32), Farzana Khatoon (6) and Wasim (30) were injured in the assault. They have reportedly been admitted in the Community Health Center in Korha for treatment, informed SHO Rupak Ranjan Singh.
On receiving information of the scuffle, the Katihar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Amarkant Jha along with Sub-Divisional Officer Shankar Sharan Omi reached the spot with their team to take control of the situation.
The police said that mass gatherings and processions have been banned in the state due to the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that inquiry will be conducted as to how the procession was carried out on NH-31 without due permission.
OpIndia tried to get in touch with the Korha police station to get more information about the aforementioned incident, but could not get through the phone number.
In a tragic incident, a 15-year-old girl in Indore decided to end her life believing that dying on the day of Muharram could get her to Jannat or heaven.
Before committing suicide, the girl reportedly asked her mother, “Was Imam Hussein martyred today, will those who die today go to heaven?”
As per reports, the girl, who is identified to be a resident of the Champabagh area of Indore, was fasting for Muharram along with her family members. The girl’s father later informed media persons that while eating kheer, Rabia asked a question of her mother, “will those who die today attain martyrdom? Will they go to heaven?”
The mother of the girl reportedly responded in affirmative and a while later, the girl was found hanging from the ceiling in her room. Shocked at the sight, the family members quickly pulled the girl down and rushed her to the hospital, where the doctor declared him brought dead.
As per family members of the deceased, the girl had recently taken admission in Class XI and had bought books for herself. She was generally happy about her life, which is why the family members are still unable to reconcile to the reality of her committing suicide.
However, as per Raoji Bazar police station in-charge, Savita Choudhary, the girl was not mentally well for a few months because of the death of one of her close friends. She had also gone to her aunt’s place without informing her family members a few days ago. The police would now record the statement of her family members to ascertain the cause of suicide, Choudhary said.
