‘They were forcing her to eat beef, convert to Islam’: MP man says 6 years after marriage, in-laws have killed his daughter

Another case of alleged Grooming Jihad has come to the light in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh where a girl’s father has alleged that his daughter has been murdered by her husband and in-laws.

As per reports, the girl’s father, who is the complainant in the case, has stated that his daughter had become a victim of ‘love jihad’ in 2015 when Talib had approached her pretending to be a Hindu named ‘Tabbu’. He had married her and later they had two children too. However, later, the man started harassing her, forcing her to convert to Islam. The father had filed a complaint against the accused with the Civil Line Police Station.

As per reports, the victim’s father has complained that on July 1, he had received a call from his daughter where she told that she is being abused and tortured by her in-laws and there is a threat to her life. When the father went to the girl’s marital home, he reportedly found that all rooms were locked up and the family had gone away. The father further added that neighbours in the place informed him that his daughter is no more and she has been killed.

As per the father’s complaint, the girl had married Talib alias ‘Tabbu’ in 2015 and now has 2 children too. She had informed her family that she has been forced to convert to Islam, eat beef and read Urdu.

Victim’s father alleges police apathy

The complainant has alleged that he has been coming to the Civil Lines police station in Chhatarpur for the last two days but the officials were not cooperative. He even named a police official named Rajesh Banjari for ignoring his complaints.

The father had finally met SP and presented a written complaint regarding the matter. The police have confirmed that they have taken up the complaint and are searching for the girl. SP Lokendra Singh has informed ETV Bharat that they have received the complaint of the father and have initiated a probe into the alleged death.

However, the police did not confirm whether the girl is alive or not. The police inform that the probe is initiated and legal action will be taken accordingly as facts emerge.

Hindu girl burnt alive by Arif in UP

On July 6 (Tuesday), a 26-year-old Hindu woman was found dumped on the Kanpur-Jhansi highway near Orai district in Uttar Pradesh, after being set on fire. The victim, who lay unattended on the highway for two and a half hours, accused her husband, Arif of the criminal act, in her statement to the police. She confirmed that Arif, with whom she had a court marriage against the wishes of her family members around three months ago, had burnt her alive and dumped her on the highway thinking she was dead.

Uma was groaning in pain, in front of Radhe Dhaba, located on Kanpur-Jhansi highway on the outskirts of Ajnara village in Orai Tehsil in Jalaun district in Uttar Pradesh, when the eatery’s owner, Bhanu Rajput, noticed her. Rajput immediately dialled Uttar Pradesh police on its emergency service number ‘112’ and sought help. The police team, that reached the spot immediately, rushed Uma, who had sustained almost 30 per cent burn injuries, to the district hospital.

Later, CO City Santosh Kumar and City Kotwal Vinod Kumar Pandey reached the district hospital to record Uma’s statement. The Police officers said that the woman is in critical condition and she could not be questioned in detail. However, in her magisterial statement, Uma clearly accused her husband of setting her on fire. OpIndia got in touch with the victim’s father, Munnilal Rajak, a resident of Sesa village located in Moth Tehsil of Jhansi district in Uttar Pradesh who wept inconsolably while narrating his daughter’s ordeal.

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to quash the summons issued by the Delhi Assembly’s Committee on Peace and Harmony to the social media giant Facebook in connection with the 2020 Delhi riots. Although the court said that the committee does not have the power to order prosecution, it said that the committee has the authority to summon Facebook officials and question them.

The petitioners, Facebook and Facebook India MD Ajit Mohan, had approached the court against two summons issued to the latter on September 10 and 18, 2020, seeking his presence in the context of complaints that the platform had failed to remove hate speech material. 

A bench of Justices SK Kaul, Dinesh Maheshwari and Hrishikesh Roy made several remarks on the power of social media and observed that “Facebook’s role is not so ‘innocuous’ and is more ‘active’ while dealing with the third party information.”

“Facebook cannot take a “simplistic approach” that it is merely a platform posting third party content with no role in generating, controlling or modulating information,” said the bench. “Facebook is a platform where such political differences are reflected. They cannot wash their hands off the issue as this is their very business,” it added.

As per a Live Law report, elaborating on their decision, the bench informed that the national capital cannot afford the repetition of such an event and thus, the role of Facebook in this context must be looked into. Justifying the Assembly’s concerns, the court noted that just because it is a local legislative and governance body, one cannot conclude that their concerns were misconceived or illegitimate.

Cannot deny use of algorithms

The bench, referring to the use of algorithms by the social media companies to decide what content a user gets to see stated, “It is too late in the day for companies like Facebook to deny that they use algorithms (which are sequences of instructions) with some human intervention to personalise content and news to target users. The algorithms select the content based on several factors including social connections, location, and past online activity of the user”.

To this, the court referred to several cases like Facebook’s role in the Myanmar genocide, Sri Lankan violence and other countries where the social media platform is facing the axe. 

“Voting processes stand threatened by social media manipulation”

Observing the pivotal role played by the social media platforms in influencing the voting and election process, the bench remarked, “Election and voting processes, the very foundation of a democratic government, stand threatened by social media manipulation. This has given rise to significant debates about the increasing concentration of power in platforms like Facebook, more so as they are said to employ business models that are privacy-intrusive and attention soliciting.”

“India’s unity in diversity cannot be disrupted”

The bench also took a jibe at the social media platforms wanting to wash their hands off their responsibility despite India being one of the biggest markets for them. “The sheer population of our country makes it an important destination for Facebook. We are possibly more diverse than the whole of Europe in local culture, food, clothing, language, religion, traditions and yet have a history of what has now commonly been called ‘unity in diversity’. This cannot be disrupted at any cost or under any professed freedom by a giant like Facebook claiming ignorance or lack of any pivotal role,” observed the court. 

The bench also stressed on the importance to draw a line between tackling hate-speech and fake news on the one hand and suppressing legitimate speech. 

The conclusion

While refusing to quash the plea, the bench also observed that the Assembly constituted to enquire into the circumstances leading to the Delhi riots cannot encroach into the domain of “law and order.”

The Assembly wanted to make Facebook a party and accused in the Delhi Riots case which has been declined by the bench. The Court made it clear that the Committee cannot have a misconception that it is some kind of a prosecuting agency. “If the Committee is raising any question which is falling with the prohibited domain of “law and order”, the representative of Facebook can refuse to answer it,” the Court concluded.

At a time when the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government continues to face massive criticism over its mismanagement of the Covid-19 crisis in the national capital, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi has resorted to spending taxpayers money on a lavish PR campaign.

In an effort to cover its failure to manage Covid-19 in the national capital, the Delhi government has once again decided to spend a lot of public money on advertisements to boost Arvind Kejriwal’s public image.

On Friday, the Delhi government ran a full-page advertisement not just in several national dailies but also in regional newspapers in Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, etc., informing about the launch of a new scheme, “Mukhyamantri Covid-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana”.

Under the scheme, the AAP-led Delhi government has claimed to provide financial assistance to the families of those who died of Covid-19. The Delhi government will offer a one-time compensation of Rs.50,000 to the next of deceased kin, and a monthly Rs.2,500 will be given to families who have lost their earning members.

Further, the Delhi government has claimed that children, who have lost their parents to Covid-19, will be provided with a monthly allowance of Rs.2,500 till they turn 25. The newly launched scheme is restricted to the residents of Delhi alone, and no other residents from any other state are eligible for this benefit.

However, despite this, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government has spent a massive amount of taxpayers money on running a PR campaign in several other states, whose residents have no stake in the “Mukhyamantri Covid-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana”.

According to several social media users, the Delhi government has published advertisements concerning “Mukhyamantri Covid-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana” in Bihar, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Uttar Pradesh and many other states.

A social media user named Uchit Desai has pointed out that the Kejriwal-led Delhi government has paid for costly advertisements in at least 12 states across the country in an effort to boost his image.

Another social media took to Twitter to say that the Delhi government advertisement appeared in newspapers published in Chattisgarh and Telangana too.

A similar advertisement was found in the Bhopal edition of Dainik Bhaskar on Friday, leading to people questioning social media the rationale behind the Delhi government spending huge money to boost its image in Madhya Pradesh on a scheme that is not even relevant to the state.

Arvind Kejriwal and his Delhi government’s fascination for PR propaganda is not a new phenomenon. Ever since Arvind Kejriwal became Chief Minister of Delhi, the AAP-led government has been spending a lot of public money on paid advertisements on media, especially mainstream media, to boost the image of Arvind Kejriwal.

It is important to mention that the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government had spent Rs 150 crores in just three months, between January 2021 to March 2021 on advertisements and publicity through various mediums instead of spending on setting up Covid-19 health infrastructure in the national capital. Kejriwal government has spent over Rs. 800 crores in advertisement expenses in the past two years.

Delhi High Court backs Uniform Civil Code, urges central govt to take necessary steps for its implementation: Details

The Delhi High Court has lent its support for a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the country and urged the Indian Government to take necessary steps to implement the same. The implementation of the UCC has been a longstanding issue in the country, without numerous politicians through the years advocating for the same.

“The youth of India belonging to various communities, tribes, castes, or religions who solemnise their marriages ought not to be forced to struggle with issues arising due to conflicts in various personal laws, especially in relation to marriage and divorce,” Justice Singh said.

Justice Singh made the observation in a judgment related to a case that involved parties from the Meena community. The judgment was passed by the Delhi High Court on the 7th of July. The Delhi High Court also said that a Uniform Civil Code has been envisioned under Article 44 of the Indian Constitution and “reiterated from time to time” by the Supreme Court.

The UCC would involve a single set of law for all communities in the area of personal laws, substituting the Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Succession Act, Indian Christian Marriages Act, Indian Divorce Act, Parsi Marriage and Divorce Act, the Shariat Application Act and Dissolution of Muslim Marriages Act among others.

The BJP has, on various occasions, said that it was committed to the implementation of the UCC.

Uyghur groups condemn Pakistani politicians for congratulatory letter to CCP while China ‘violates honour’ of Uyghur women

Ilshat H. Kokbore, Uyghur activist and former president of the Uyghur American Association, has shared a statement from the International Union of the East Turkestan Organisations (IUETO) condemning Pakistani politicians for their glowing support of China’s centenary celebrations.

The statement condemns Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Siraj ul Haq, leaders of the Pakistan Ulema-e-Islam Party and Jamaat-e-Islami Party respectively.

The letter, penned by Hidayet Oguzhan, president of the IUETO, says, “I strongly condemn Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the Pakistani Ulema-i-lslam Party and Religious Scholar, and Sirac-ül Hak, the Leader of Jamiat-i-lslam Party, due to their glorifying congratulation letter for the 100th anniversary of the Chinese communist party which waged war on Islam and Muslims in the East Turkistan, destroyed mosques, burned the Qur’an, banned Islamic worships, committed mass genocide by putting more than 8 million people in concentration camps and violated the honor and dignity of our East Turkistani Muslim girls.”

“Despite their Islamic and conscientious responsibility, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Sirac-ül Hak did not utter a word against the crimes committed by CCP. The reckless, irresponsible attitude and the callousness of the Islamic world is a deplorable situation,” it states.

Politicians in Pakistan, including PM Imran Khan, have turned a blind eye to the atrocities committed against Uyghurs in China and exercised a strategic silence over the matter for the sake of ‘friendship’. Meanwhile, Uyghurs continue to suffer as they are persecuted and their religion suppressed by the CCP under the garb of ‘fighting’ extremism.

An anonymous Chinese blogger, who goes by the pseudonym of ‘Program Think’, has been missing for the past two weeks. The blogger used to expose the corruption and concealed wealth of top Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members.

Although ‘Program Think’ was able to evade arrest for over 12 years, Radio Free Asia (RFA) claimed that the Chinese authorities have detained the blogger. RFA added that he would be subjected to rigorous interrogation until they solicit a confession from him. On May 24, a comment on his blog post said that his family had been seeking help. “Last week, he went on a business trip to a big city in East China and lost contact with us the next day. There were no unusual messages before he lost contact,” the comment warned.

“It has been almost a week now. At first, I was not sure if something happened, or if there was an accident, I didn’t call the police. Last night, the police gave us an official response (to our missing person’s report), saying that they were processing his case, but … without giving any information on the progress of their investigation,” the comment further added. As per Twitter account @GFWfrog, ‘Program-Think’ was detained earlier in May and currently undergoing ‘brutal interrogation’. It claimed that the last blog post dated May 9 was scheduled by the blogger in advance.

While speaking to Radio Free Asia, an informant named Xu said, “Recently, through my own credible sources, I learned that they have detained Program-Think, and are putting him through harsh interrogation. I can’t accept the persecution of a person of such conscience and outstanding ability … so I have to make this information public despite the risks”. Program-Think has been at the helm of exposing the Chinese Communist Party through anti-brainwashing campaigns. One of his notable works was exposing the hidden wealth following the 2016 Panama Papers’ leak.

Xu said, “I think Program-Think had a bigger impact than anyone on the Chinese internet. Particularly his posts laying out very complete evidence to refute [government] propaganda. He would convert CCP supporters. He is a hero, and totally irreplaceable.” According to Zhou Fengsuo of Humanitarian China NGO, several bloggers learnt to circumvent the Chinese government’s censorship and surveillance through the blog of Program-Think. Interestingly, his blog was chosen by Deutsche Welle (DW) for the Best of Blogs awards in 2013.

In his own words, Program-Think had earlier said that he never wanted to write political content and wanted to share information about programming. However, when the blog became popular, he wrote about ways to evade government censorship, political analysis, and information security tips, etc. In 2019, he wrote a blog post titled, ‘Why the Authorities Can’t Catch Me.” For his followers, Program-Think has not been less than a ‘hero’ or a ‘legend.’ Many independent bloggers had to face persecution at the hands of the Chinese authorities. Some stopped posting while others disappeared forever.

Last year, Jack Ma had gone on a tirade against China’s current banking system, the financial regulatory structure of the Communist-ruled country, and how it was unsuitable for his fintech giant, Ant group. Ma’s critical remarks for the Communist regime terminated the planned IPO of his fintech giant Ant Group, just two days before it was scheduled to begin trading.

Following his disparaging remarks for the Chinese regulatory system, Ma, who has rarely shied away from the public glare, disappeared for almost three months, giving rise to a host of speculations about his whereabouts and well-being. He re-emerged last month with a 50-second video appearance. Earlier, reports had emerged that Jack Ma has been ’embracing supervision’ at an unknown location.

Ma is not the only prominent personality to have raised the hackles of the Chinese Communist Party by raising unpopular opinions. Many other billionaires too, had made critical remarks of the Party and had similarly disappeared from the public eye for a few months. The Aam Aadmi Party has been indulging in lots of drama in recent time. While its Delhi government has failed in every aspect like building new schools, hospitals, oxygen plants etc as promised by it, it is showing its success in other areas. The AAP leaders are inaugurating speed breakers, releasing advertisements worth crores of rupees instead of buying vaccines etc.

In an incident of such drama, one AAP leader in Goa was seen distributing rations to families who don’t look like in the need of any help. Adv. Pratima Betsy Coutinho, the vice President of AAP in Goa, has been roaming around in the state distributing ration to people, to both who need them and who don’t need them. In a video that had gone viral on social media, Pratima was seen giving a bag full of items to a seemingly wealthy family living in a big bungalow in Navelim Constituency.

In the video posted by Goa News Hub, Pratima is seen riding a scooter with a bag, who stops in front of a big iron gate that leads to the large bungalow. While a lady comes out to receive the packet, a sedan car, perhaps a Suzuki Ciaz, is seen parked inside the premises, and the sound of a pet dog barking is also heard. From the video it can be concluded that it is the residence of a wealthy family, and are not in the need of a ration distributed by AAP.

Interestingly, Pratima Betsy Coutinho had herself retweeted the tweet posted by Goa News Hub along with the video. The bag handed out by the AAP leader to the lade had Aam Aadmi Party written on it, with Pratima saying that ‘Aam Aadmi is doing this to help people’.

However, this is not the first time the AAP leader has distributed ration to seemingly rich people living in well-maintained houses. There are several photographs posted by the AAP leader herself and other which show her distributing ration to families who don’t look like are in the need of free ration from any angle.

Great upheaval is taking place in India’s neighbourhood. The United States is leaving Afghanistan, with the final date for total withdrawal set for September 11, 2021. This week, US troops vacated the Bagram base near Kabul, their de facto operational HQ in Afghanistan for nearly 20 years. They did not even alert the Afghan military. In the middle of the night, US troops simply packed up and left. In the morning, when local people began scavenging and looting the base for whatever was left lying around, the Afghan government came to know.

That’s liberal America, trusted savior of democracy around the world.

Meanwhile, the Taliban is already in control of one-quarter of Afghanistan. In the last few weeks, the shabbily armed Afghan military, low on morale and abandoned by Americans, has surrendered to the Taliban in droves. Several thousand Afghan forces crossed the border into Tajikistan, seeking refuge. All across the country, the victorious Taliban are closing in. US intelligence estimates that they will take Kabul within six months or less.

And here, from yesterday, is Joseph R Biden, the President of the United States and ‘leader of the free world’.

What President Biden said

Yes, the official stance of the liberal American government is that they can trust the Afghan military to defeat the Taliban. Never mind that their own intelligence estimates say that the Afghan government won’t last another six months. The President doesn’t trust the Taliban (nor his own US intelligence) but he is leaving the country to them. Or maybe he isn’t. If you could not follow that, you are asking a silly question.

And notice how he does not say whether the US will be responsible for civilian deaths in Afghanistan after the Taliban takes over. He clarifies that later when pressed on the issue.

What President Biden said

He said NO. Four times in quick succession. No, the US doesn’t know what will happen in Afghanistan. Even though they know. They are not responsible for what the Taliban does to innocent people abandoned by the US. Because the US doesn’t care. Is it clear now?

But I am not American, so who am I to comment on this? Maybe, but when a large section of the Indian elite is looking at this liberal American administration to overrule our democratically elected Indian government, it is kind of my business too. So you’re telling me that the liberal American government will just leave their allies to die at the hands of the Taliban? And I am supposed to believe that the same liberal American administration is sitting in Washington DC, worried sick about humanitarian causes and civil liberties in India?

They are worried about Modi’s BJP but not about the Taliban? Seriously?

Excuse me for knowing history, but it is the Americans who went into Afghanistan, promising freedom and democracy. They rallied the Afghans to fight the Taliban. And now that America is bored, they just pack up and leave? Can you imagine the bloody revenge that the Taliban will now extract on innocent Afghan civilians? But the President says America is not responsible for that. They don’t care.

So let me get this straight. The American establishment chooses a country at random and decides to “reform” it, like a child picking up a toy. The powerful American military, political and academic establishment cheers the intervention. One day they toss their toy away.

Right now, India is their obsession. The American liberals have decided that India needs “reform.” We have fallen short of the highest ideals of freedom and democracy. We need to be improved. The New York Times and the Washington Post have informed their readers. India is a bad country run by an evil regime. India needs change. Their sponsored academics and activists all agree. India needs “change.”

No, America is not going to invade India. Mostly because it makes no sense. Because they already have people at every level in India already willing to do their bidding. They just need to ramp up the ecosystem support, financial or otherwise, to subversive elements in India.

This is how an innocent Indian wearing a Hanuman T-shirt gets featured in global newspapers as a potential terrorist. Have you seen the sudden curiosity with which the New York Times, Washington Post, BBC and others are picking apart even the tiniest aspects of Indian life and putting a spin on them? Someone alleged that sarees could be a sign of Hindu fundamentalism. Another said that Indians referring to their own country as “Bharat” is a way to hide majoritarian Nazi designs from the world community. Even in London, Vice News found that immigrants Southall (unofficially called “Little India”) are “incubating” the virus!

In other words, if you find yourself anywhere near an Indian, just run. The world needs to be in a state of panic. Because Indians are bad. And there are lots of them. If Indians look like harmless, common people, that’s just an illusion. Because Indians are very good at living double lives. For example, it may appear that Indians go to the voting booths and freely choose their leaders, but they actually don’t. India is an “electoral autocracy.” If that sounds like a contradiction in terms, that is just because you don’t understand how evil and duplicitous Indians actually are.

So how can the world stay silent? How can the Prime Minister of Canada or the New York Times or Rihanna be silent even as India hits innocent farmers with water cannons?

Why would America care about what the Taliban does to dissenters in Afghanistan? Does the Taliban use water cannons? I can bet you they don’t. So why bother?

So, dear average Indian, get ready. It’s your lucky day because the liberal American establishment has chosen you for reform. It is time to abandon your miserable existence under India’s electoral autocracy. The New York Times is here because they love us. It is time to give ourselves up and embrace the universal love that is on offer from the liberal American establishment. It’s not going to hurt at all. It’s just reform.

UP: High Court approves trial of Mohammed Ishtiaque under NSA, had led Muslim mob violence after police had demolished illegal Barabanki structure

The Uttar Pradesh High Court on Thursday gave a green signal for trial against an accused under National Security Act (NSA) for attacking an IAS officer in the Barabanki illegal structure demolition case. 

A controversy had erupted after the Barabanki administration had pulled down an old illegal structure constructed in a mosque area. During the demolition of the structure, one Mohammed Ishtiaque along with a mob had attacked the residence of the Joint Magistrate IAS Divyanshu Patel. 

Barabanki DM Adarsh Singh had then filed a case under NSA against the attackers, which was approved by the High Court on Thursday. 

Additionally, the SDM had released a notice to restrict people from entering the place of demolition. Following the notice when some miscreants were stopped from entering the site, they resorted to stone pelting injuring five police officials. A case was registered against 150 people in this matter.

Farce controversy on demolishing ‘mosque’

As per reports, the Barabanki administration had come across a structure with two to three rooms built inside the ‘tehsil’ premises in Ram Sanehi Ghat area. When IAS Patel enquired about the structure and asked for identity proofs from the occupants of the room, they all fled.

An order was then released to demolish the structure, however, Muslim organizations like the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and UP Sunni Central Waqf Board and Samajwadi Party, the primary opposition party in Uttar Pradesh, started crying foul.

The outraging Muslim organizations and opposition claimed that the demolished structure was a 100-year-old mosque. However, the authorities maintained that the structure they demolished on court orders was indeed an illegal residential structure that encroached on the government land.

District Magistrate Adarsh Singh also confirmed: “A notice was served on people concerned on March 15, giving them an opportunity to put forth their views over the ownership but those residing there fled after receiving the notice”.

FIR against ‘The Wire’ for furthering fake news

Apart from the Muslim organizations and the opposition, media publication ‘The Wire’ also joined the wagon to further the claim that the demolished structure was indeed a mosque. 

Subsequently, the Uttar Pradesh police registered an FIR against the far-left propaganda portal, for spreading animosity and disturbing communal harmony in the society by propagating misinformation through a video documentary in connection with the Barabanki illegal mosque demolition case.

In its documentary, the Wire had stated that the Muslims in the area had protested against the demolition of the mosque and stated that the police officials had quelled by resorting to a lathi charge. The Wire had claimed that the Barabanki police specifically targeted the Muslim community and had thrown away their religious scriptures into the drain.

The case against The Wire was filed under Sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups), 505 (1) (b) (intent to cause or likely to cause fear or alarm among the public), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (criminal act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

Antifa ‘rioter’ arrested for the 5th time for abusing and obstructing police, repeatedly screaming ‘f*ck you’ at a black cop: Read details

On June 30, the Portland police arrested an Antifa rioter and her aide for the 5th time for obstructing the law enforcement officers on their duty, reported The Post Millenial.

As per reports, the police received four 911 (Emergency) calls asking for assistance at an apartment in Northeast Portland. However, they did not find anyone requiring the assistance of any kind. When they arrived for the second time, the cops were gheraoed by a frenzied anti-police mob, who threatened and assaulted them.

Two of the people leading the mob were Simona Andrea Arteaga (40) and Olivia Morgan Massey (20). It must be mentioned that Arteaga was arrested four times last year during the Black Lives Matter protests and Antifa riots.

During the confrontation with the police, Arteaga described a black police officer as a ‘race traitor’ who ‘betrayed all persons of colour.’ She harassed the cop and prevented him from discharging his duties. Meanwhile, a police vehicle was blocked by the mob while a protestor began to kick it with his foot. When a police officer tried to arrest the suspect, a female cop tried to help in the arrest.

At that point, the 20-year-old Olivia Morgan Massey pushed the female officer and assaulted her. When Massey was handcuffed, Arteaga began pushing the police official. The Antifa rioter also tried to scratch and resist arrest, thereby injuring the female officer.

In a video that has now surfaced online, that anti-police mob was seen abusing a black officer continuously with the F-word. “Our Indigenous bloc said get the f— out on stolen land! You’re serving the white man who enslaved our f—ing people!” one woman yelled in the background. Arteaga was heard provoking the mob by claiming, “We’re not civilized like you great white folk, right?” The police had then arrested Arteaga for assaulting a public safety officer, interfering with a peace officer, resisting arrest, and second-degree disorderly conduct. However, she was soon released without bail.

Reportedly, she pleaded not guilty to resisting arrest and interference charges. The other charges were also dropped by the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. Similarly, Massey was arrested for felony assault, interference resisting arrest, harassment, and second-degree disorderly contact. The prosecutors later dropped felony assault and disorderly conduct charges. She has pleaded not guilty to the remaining charges.

Criminal antecedents of Simona Andrea Arteaga

The Post Millenial reported that both Massey and Arteaga have a criminal past. The duo was arrested last year during the Antifa riots but the charges were subsequently dropped by Multnomah County District Attorney. The first arrest took place on August 10 last year when Antifa rioters attacked the Portland Police North Precinct. The cases against them were not pursued by the prosecutors.

Later on August 25, Arteaga was arrested during the vandalism and arson of Portland City Hall. And yet again charges were not pursued by the prosecutors. On September 6, she was arrested during an Antifa riot event to celebrate 100 days of rioting.

During the riot, the frenzied mob hurled firebombs, explosives at the police. One of the individuals also required hospitalisation. Again on September 12, Arteaga was arrested when Antifa gheraoed the Penumbra Kelly building and stopped the traffic. Byt, yet again, she was released within hours. Arteaga identifies herself as an advocate of ‘equity and ‘racial inclusivity.’ Until the spring of this year, she had been studying ‘critical race theory’ at the Portland State University.

Antifa arsonist gets four years in prison 

An Antifa rioter, who threw a Molotov cocktail inside a Minneapolis police station in an attempt to burn it down, was convicted to four years in prison in early May this year. Dylan Shakespeare Robinson, aged 23, was also ordered to pay $12 million in restitution for the damage caused to the Minneapolis police station during rioting which occurred on May 28, 2020. The riot was one of the many riots and protests in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death. According to court documents, Robinson went to the police station in question where a crowd of hundreds had gathered.

At one point, the crowd began shouting, “Burn it down, burn it down.” Soon after, a fence that was designed to keep trespassers out was torn down. Robinson, along with other co-conspirators, breached the fence and entered the building. Robinson, assisted by an unidentified co-conspirator, lit an object held by the other person who threw it toward the police station building with an intent to arson. All of this was caught on video, with Robinson fleeing to Colorado in order to avoid arrest. However, in December, Robinson pled guilty to the charge of conspiracy to commit arson.
