While AAP govt blames other states for water crisis in Delhi, its own Jal Board says Delhi is getting more than allocated water from Haryana and Uttarakhand

As the National Capital struggles with an acute water crisis in the scorching June heat, the ruling party in New Delhi, AAP, has alleged that the neighbouring BJP-ruled states have reduced the water supply to Delhi, exacerbating the crisis. Indulging in a blame game and accusing the neighbouring BJP-ruled states, CM Arvind Kejriwal stated, “The demand for water supply has surged due to the heatwave. Neighbouring states have reduced the water supply to Delhi, resulting in a high demand (sic) and minimal shortage.”

Kejriwal added, “.. If the BJP can persuade its governments in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to supply some water to Delhi for a month, the people of Delhi would greatly appreciate their efforts.”

Similarly, Delhi water minister Atishi also has been blaming Haryana for cutting the water supply to Delhi. Additionally, the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government in Delhi has also moved the Supreme Court to seek a direction to neighbouring states, particularly Haryana, to supply more water to the crisis-hit national capital.

However, the Summer Bulletin released by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), which operates under the AAP government in the National Capital, indicates otherwise, exposing the AAP government’s lies and blame game. The data from the Jal Board point out that Delhi is receiving more than its allocated share of water from sources in Haryana and Uttarakhand. Furthermore, according to DJB officials, Wazirabad was already getting around 85 Million Gallons per Day (MGD) more than the allocated water from the Yamuna stream coming from the Hathnikund barrage to the pond.

Notably, the Jal Board recently changed the format of the Summer Bulletin and started to show data on the cumulative Water (in million gallons per day) received from sources in the neighbouring states and Water production at the treatment plants in Delhi.

The summer bulletin was started by DJB this month and till 29th May it used to publish the details of water treated at its all water treatment plants, details of water quality tests performed at various places, and a summary of complaints. However, from 31 May, the Jal Board started publishing data on water received from various sources, retained the data on water treated, and dropped the data on water quality tests and complaints.

The three summer bulletins published on 31 May, 1 June and 2 June show that every day, Delhi is receiving more water in total from Haryana and Uttarakhand compared to allocation.

Delhi receives water from Haryana through 3 routes, Delhi Sub Branch, Carrier Lined Canal, and River Yamuna. While the total allocation for Delhi from Haryana is 547 MGD, it received 604 MGD on 31 May, and 607 MGD each on 1st and 2nd June.

Delhi is allocated 254 million gallons per day of water from the Upper Ganga Canal, and on all three days, Delhi Jal Board received 257 MGD, 3 MGD more. The Upper Ganga Canal is a major water canal in north India that originates in Haridwar in Uttarakhand and carries water to Uttar Pradesh. However, near Muradnagar in Uttar Pradesh, a pipeline diverts some of the water to Delhi, which is sent to Bhagirthi Water Treatment plant and Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant run by DJB.

Notably, the Delhi Jal Board bulletin shows that Delhi is not allotted any water from River Yamuna, but it drew 85 MGD on 31 May and 101 MGD each on 1st and 2nd June from the river. On the other hand, the receipt from Carrier Lined Canal was less than the allocation. But as DJB drew from Yamuna without allocation and received more water from the Delhi Sub Branch, the total water received from Haryana was more than the total allocation.

Referring to the Summer Bulletin, a DJB official said, “The latest bulletin highlights that around 85 MGD of water is being lifted by DJB which has not been allocated, suggesting either Delhi is lifting without authorisation or Haryana is already giving more than what is allocated to Delhi.”

Dismissing the allegations of AAP leaders, another DJB official said, “We are getting the amount of water that we usually get during this time of the year from Haryana but as the temperatures are reaching an unprecedented level, the problems have increased for people. We are trying to manage.”

These DJB Summer Bulletins contradict Water Minister Atishi’s allegation that Haryana has reduced water supply to Delhi. After the crisis began this month, the DJB and water minister have contradicted each other several times.

Highlighting the same, BJP Delhi President, Virend Sachdeva slammed the AAP government and stated, “There is no shortage of raw water or pure drinking water in Delhi, the problem is that Kejriwal government minister Ms Atishi is so busy in political rhetoric that she is not able to pay attention to the water and electricity crisis.”

Delhi government fails to address the mismatch in demand and supply

It is pertinent to note that the national capital has long faced water scarcity as it heavily relies on neighbouring states to fulfil most of its water needs.

Delhi receives its supply as Water from the upper Yamuna reaches the Carrier Lined Channel (CLC) Munak, the Delhi Sub-Branch (DSB) canals from Haryana, and the Upper Ganga Canal via Muradnagar from Uttar Pradesh is channelled through nine water treatment plants to reach households.

However, this supply falls short of the city’s total requirements. According to reports, Delhi has a daily water demand of 1,290 million gallons per day (MGD), but the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), the government agency responsible for the supply of potable water to most of Delhi, currently supplies only 1,000 MGD. The shortfall is made up by tapping into Delhi’s groundwater reserves.

The DJB data has also shown that the Water treatment plants are producing more than their actual capacity, taking the overall water production to 990 MGD from all plants and tube wells. However, it is still much less than what is required in Delhi as people continue to face difficulties.

The installed capacity of all water treatment plants run by DJP is 956 MGD, but it is consistently producing more water than that. Except for the Wazirabad Treatment Plant, all other plants are running at over capacity. The low production at Wazirabad is because of low level of water at Wazirabad pond, and sometimes due to power cuts.

As the DJB plants are already operating beyond their capacity, the Delhi government’s demand from neighbouring states to release more water will not solve the crisis as water treatment plants may not be able to treat it. Therefore, the Delhi government needs to increase treatment capacity before demanding more water. Otherwise, any excess water received will simply go to waste as the plants will for forced to release them downstream instead of pumping them into water supply network.

Another Shraddha Walker-like murder shocks Bhopal: Nadeem Uddin killed his wife over suspicion of affair, chops body in 14 pieces, burns, and buries; arrested

A horrifying case has come to light from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, where Eintkhedi police on Saturday (1st June) discovered the skeletal remains of a woman who had been missing since 21st May. According to the Police, a 26-year-old auto driver named Nadeem Uddin strangled his 22-year-old wife to death and then cut her into multiple pieces and burnt the body. The Police said that the accused killed her over the suspicion that she had an affair with someone else. The Police have sent the skeletal remains for an examination.

According to reports, after killing his wife Saniya Khan, Nadeem gathered the half-burnt body in a sack and carried it in his auto-rickshaw. He then took it to the Khanti area where he tried to bury it in a pit near a dump yard. He threw some body parts at different places so that animals could eat them, making it hard for the Police to build their case, if he got caught. The Police recovered the skull, leg, and 14 small pieces of ribs of the deceased victim from the Arvaliya Khanti area.

Bhopal (rural) SP Pramod Kumar Sinha said that a man in Nishatpura hacked his wife, burnt and dismembered the body in many pieces to prevent identification. He later disposed of the parts in different areas of Bhopal. The gory crime came to the fore after the man was arrested by a joint team of Eintkhedi and Nishatpura police. The victim had been missing since May 21.

Speaking with Free Press, SP Sinha said that Nadeem Uddin was on the run ever since a complaint was filed that his wife Saniya Khan went missing on 21st May.

He was arrested late on Friday night. During interrogation, he tried misleading the police. But later, Nadeem confessed that he committed the harrowing crime. As per Eintkhedi police, he confessed that he burnt Saniya’s body and dismembered it.

Bhopal (Rural) SP Pramod Kumar Sinha told Free Press that as many as 14 skeletal remains of Sania Khan, including skull and muscles, were recovered by the police. Sinha said that Saniya’s relative had alleged that Nadeem used to assault her on suspicion of infidelity.

The Investigation officer of the case, Nishatpura police station sub-inspector MD Ahirwar said that the incident took place on 21st May and the man, identified as Nadeem Uddin, was arrested on Saturday.

The official said that the woman was staying at her parents’ home in Murli Nagar after her relationship with her husband turned sour.

She went missing on 21st May after which her parents lodged a police complaint. The Nishatpura police started an investigation and picked up the man. During questioning, he admitted to having killed his wife, the official said. The accused told the police he suspected his wife was in a relationship with another man, he said.

A sub-inspector posted at Eintkhedi police station, requesting anonymity, said that two months back Saniya’s six-month-old daughter had died after boiling water accidentally fell on her. Later, her relationship with Nadeem had turned sour.

However, according to reports, on 21st May, Nadeem called his wife over her mobile phone and asked her to come to Karond Crossing. The IO Ahirwar said that when she met him, the accused took her mobile phone and after seeing a video in it, he got angry and in a fit of rage, he allegedly strangled her to death.

He then took the body in his auto-rickshaw to a spot about 2 km away and burnt it after pouring kerosene on it at a waste dump where later buried it, the official said. Some unburnt body parts have been recovered and sent for an examination, he said.

The official added that the accused has been booked under Indian Penal Code section 302 and other charges. The police were interrogating the accused and conducting further investigation into the case, he added.

Saniya’s cousin brother Anas stated that the victim’s mother had died 12 years ago and her father Wasim Khan lives with his second daughter. Saniya was brought up by her grandmother and from there in 2020 she got married to Nadeem, an auto driver living in Perewakheda. Merely five days after the marriage, Nadeem started to harass her and demand a bike. He used to assault her multiple times doubting her character.

Her relatives claim that even before the murder, Nadeem had once assaulted her and paraded her naked in the village.

Shraddha Walker murder case

In November 2022, the Delhi Police solved a six-month-old murder case and arrested the accused Aftab Amin Poonawalla for murdering his 28-year-old live-in partner Shraddha Walker on the 18th of May, 2022. The accused Aftab chopped Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces and kept it in his refrigerator.

When the police interrogated Aftab, he confessed that he had read about human anatomy before chopping the woman into 35 pieces. The Police seized his electronic devices to verify that the accused googled about methods to clean the blood stains after executing the murder.

According to the police, Aftab’s former job as a chef helped him clinically chop Shraddha’s dead body into 35 pieces. Since then, the country has witnessed multiple cases similar to the horrific Shraddha Walker murder case.

Rajasthan: Miscreants drag two Sadhus from an Ashram, kill them and dump the bodies near Haryana border, ₹15 lakh and a car owned by deceased Sadhu missing

Two dead bodies of sadhus (Hindu saints) were discovered lying in an abandoned condition in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan on 1st June. The two are reportedly between the ages of 40 and 45 years. The corpses were discovered near the border village Navata of Pacherikalan police station area on Saturday. Injury marks have been spotted on their heads. The authorities have registered a case and started an investigation.

While initially the bodies were not identified, today their identities were confirmed by the police. They have been identified as 45-year-old Vishisht Giri and 42-year-old Gautam. Giri resides at Jawahar Giri Ashram Bhiwani while Gautam is a resident of Bagad. However, Gautam was also living in the Ashram for the last 6 months, working as a volunteer.

On receiving information of two bodies of Sadhus found in the area, some sadhus from Baba Jahar Giri Aashram Bhiwani reached the Government Hospital in Buhana where the bodies were kept. There, they identified the victims. Police suspect that the sadhus were killed over an argument over monetary transactions.

According to sources, Vishisht Giri Maharaj used to visit an ashram in Bhodan village of Singhana police station area. On Friday night, some people came to the ashram with a car, when Giri was present at the ashram.

The people in the car dragged the sadhu out and started to assault him. When sevadar Gautam saw this, he tried to intervene, he was also thrashed by the attackers. Both the victims died as a result of the assault. The attackers then put the bodies in the car and drove away. After reaching Navata in Pacherikalan police station area near the Haryana border, they dumped the bodies in the pits of soil dug for a brick kiln and fled from the scene.

It is also revealed that Vishisht Giri Maharaj had ₹15 lakh and a car, both of which are missing.

After the bodies were found, the police scanned the CCTV footage of the nearby area. In the footage, a suspicious car was seen going back to Haryana after entering the Rajasthan border.

The police have formed five teams to trace the suspicious vehicle and solve the crime. The bodies of both were handed over to their families after post-mortem by the medical board at the government hospital in Buhana.

The bodies were found in the Pacheri Kalan police station area of Jhunjhunu district on Saturday. Word spread that the bodies were uncovered in the Navata village. They were on the Kutcha (unmetalled) road near the highway leading to the Haryana border. People flocked to the area and determined that the deceased were sadhus and had been hit on their heads with a heavy object. They tried to identify the latter but were unsuccessful. The cops rushed to the scene as soon as they learned of the development.

The police took both the bodies into custody and sent them for postmortem. They were stored in the hospital for identification. A case has been filed and police are looking into the matter. Forensic teams visited the location and collected evidence. Police talked to other sadhus trying to establish the identity of the deceased.

Pune Porsche road rage case: Teen driver admits to police he was drunk driving at the time of accident, claims he does not remember anything

In a major development in the Pune Porsche road rage case in which two IT professionals lost their lives last month, the teen driver has admitted to the Police that he was heavily drunk while driving when the accident took place, according to reports published on Sunday (2nd June) citing sources.

According to the reports, during the interrogation, which lasted over an hour (11:30 am to 12:30 pm), the teen told the Pune Police that as he was drunk at the time of the accident, he could not remember anything. According to the report, he was questioned in the presence of his mother who was arrested on Saturday (1st June). His mother, Shivani Agarwal, was arrested after it was revealed that the boy’s blood samples were replaced with hers.

Despite efforts by the officials to elicit information, the teen remained tight-lipped during questioning, said police.

A crime branch official said, “Our officials asked the minor about his location before the accident, his presence in Blak and Cosie pubs, driving the Porsche, details of the accident, tampering of evidence, collection of blood samples and medical tests. To all the questions, the minor had a single answer – that he had no memory of anything as he was drunk.”

In the initial probe, it was revealed that the minor and his friends had consumed alcohol at the two pubs where they paid a cumulative bill of Rs 48,000.

As per a Times of India report, Pune Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar stated that the minor driver’s mother told the police that the doctors at Sassoon General Hospital had asked her to give her blood as a sample instead of the boy’s.

“We have recorded the statement of the woman (49). She told us that the doctors of the hospital had told her to give her blood as sample instead of her son’s. She feigned ignorance on why the doctors told her so,” Amitesh Kumar was quoted saying in the Times of India report

Earlier in the day, a Pune court on Sunday remanded the parents of the 17-year-old boy, Shivani Agarwal, and Vishal Agarwal, to police custody till 5th June in a case pertaining to the destruction of evidence. The minor’s parents are accused of tampering with the blood sample of the juvenile.

The major developments in the case

On 19th May, a high-speeding luxurious car struck and killed two IT professionals who were travelling on a motorbike in the Kalyani Nagar area of the city. Passers-by caught hold of the minor and handed him over to the Police after thrashing him.

Following the crash, attempts were made to establish that the teen was not drunk while driving. It was later revealed that his blood samples were swapped to support this claim.

Strikingly, CCTV footage had emerged in which the teen was seen drinking alcohol in a pub just before the crash. However, during his medical check-up at the Sassoon General Hospital, the doctors swapped his blood sample with his mother’s at the direction of his father. It was also found that the father had bribed the doctors for this.

According to the police, the parents of the minor had conspired and destroyed the evidence by going to a state-run hospital and manipulating the blood samples.

The police have registered three separate cases related to the incident. One FIR concerns the accident, another is against the bar that allegedly served liquor to the juvenile, and a third pertains to the wrongful confinement and coercion of the family driver to take the blame for the accident.

In addition to arresting the boy’s parents, the police have also detained his grandfather. Two doctors from Sassoon General Hospital and an employee have been arrested for allegedly manipulating the blood sample of the juvenile. The police have formed over a dozen teams, comprising 100 personnel, to investigate various aspects of the case.

Arvind Kejriwal tries to rewrite history while returning to Tihar, says he is going to prison to save the country like Bhagat Singh

On 2nd June, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal surrendered at Tihar Jail as directed by the Supreme Court of India while granting him interim bail to campaign during Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Announcing that he would surrender at Tihar, Kejriwal claimed that he was going to prison to save the country.

He compared himself with the freedom fighters, specifically with Sardar Bhagat Singh and said being “son of Bhagat Singh” it is an honour for him to go to jail to save the country. He quoted Bhagat Singh saying that the revolutionary had said it was essential to go to jail against a dictator and he (Kejriwal) was doing the same.

Notably, Kejriwal and his counsel tried their level best to extend the interim bail for 7 days claiming Kejriwal needed some medical tests to be done which would take a week. However, the Supreme Court as well as the Rouse Avenue Court did not extend the interim bail. Bhagat Singh never tried to remain out of prison throughout his life on medical grounds. It is unclear which misleading history Kejriwal went through while trying to stay out of jail. Notably, he also used his family as a prop to push the narrative that he was going on some battle.

Furthermore, the notion that he was going to jail to save the nation is flawed in itself as he is accused of the Delhi Excise Policy Scam. Enforcement Directorate has informed the court that they have evidence Kejriwal was involved in the alleged scam. Kejriwal’s associates including former deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia and others are already in jail in the same case and they have been denied bail repeatedly.

Kejriwal’s statement that he was going to jail to “save the country” is not only misleading but also an attempt to manipulate public sentiment. He wanted to insinuate the narrative that he was being forced to go to jail because he was doing something good, which is not the case. Unlike freedom fighters such as Sardar Bhagat Singh, who were imprisoned for their selfless struggle against colonial oppression, Kejriwal’s surrender at Tihar Jail is linked to the allegations of corruption in the Delhi Liquor Scam.

Bhagat Singh’s incarceration was a testament to his commitment to India’s independence. It was a far cry from Kejriwal’s current predicament that revolves around serious allegations of money laundering. Comparing himself to a freedom fighter in this context is not just an overstatement but it also undermines the true sacrifices made by historical figures who genuinely fought for the nation’s freedom.

Bhagat Singh’s grandson Yadvinder Sandhu earlier objected to drawing a comparison between Kejriwal and his grandfather. Yadvinder Sandhu, who is the grandson of a freedom fighter’s younger brother, released a video message criticising AAP for placing a fake image of ‘jailed Kejriwal’ alongside freedom fighters. He said, “I watched a video of Sunita Kejriwal that caused us immense distress and displeasure because it attempted to equate Arvind Kejriwal to the two great leaders, Bhagat Singh and BR Amdebdar by placing his portrait next to theirs. We believe it was inappropriate. All I want to say is that it was wrong for the Aam Aadmi Party to do such a thing. Moreover, no politician should ever draw comparisons between themselves and BR Ambedkar or Bhagat Singh. Keep the politics to yourself only and there is no problem with it.”

He further mentioned, “However, avoid comparing oneself with such prominent individuals. All we can do is endeavour to tread their path. Responses are coming in from throughout India. The comparison of Arvind Kejriwal with Bhagat Singh and BR Amdebdar has infuriated a lot of their followers. It was unacceptable to the people. I’ll caution the Aam Aadmi Party not to repeat it in the future.”

Moreover, the argument that Kejriwal is somehow martyring himself to protect the country is fundamentally flawed. It has to be noted that the apex court has refused to extend his interim bail, despite claims made that he needed medical attention because he suddenly lost “7 KG weight”. On the contrary, Bhagat Singh and other freedom fighters went on over 100 days of hunger strike in jail to get their demands fulfilled. Comparing such historic figures with someone who is accused of money laundering is no less than insulting the freedom fighters.

It is further notable that the Supreme Court had categorically ordered him not to speak about the case while he was on interim bail, but Kejriwal consistently claimed he was innocent and the case against him was fabricated. The question arises how can someone who does not respect the highest court of the country compare himself to the revolutionaries who gave their lives for the freedom of the nation?

Elvish Yadav unmasks pro-AAP YouTuber Dhruv Rathee’s propaganda and political ties, publishes well-researched video

On 1st June, YouTuber and influencer Elvish Yadav published a well-researched video challenging YouTuber and propagandist Dhruv Rathee’s credibility. Yadav raised several issues to point out that Rathee engages in anti-India propaganda and has affiliations not only with political parties but also with anti-India NGOs and foreign entities. The video was based on research done by Elvish’s team, Vijay Patel (Vijay Gajera) and Engineer Reveals (Gaurav Singh).

Political Affiliations

Elvish pointed out that though Dhruv Rathee claims he was neither associated with any political party nor he would join any in the future, in reality, he has a long-standing association with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He said, “Dhruv Rathee worked for AAP IT cell. On October 7, 2014, he made a video for Arvind Kejriwal and supported AAP.”

To support his claims against Rathee, Elvish shows screenshots from videos and posts published on AAP’s official page. Furthermore, it was Dhruv Rathee who came up with the song titled “5 Saal Kejriwal”, Elvish said in his video. He added, “On January 12, 2017, AAP’s social media head confirmed that Dhruv Rathee is part of their research team.”

Interestingly, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently apologised in court for sharing a misleading video by Dhruv Rathee after Delhi High Court refused to quash case against him saying that retweeting defamatory content amounts to defamation.

Manipulative Content

Elvish further pointed out that Rathee indulges in selective reporting. He uses half-baked truth and presents selective data and facts to manipulate public opinion. He said, “Rathee compared AAP and BJP leaders, showing AAP leaders with zero criminal cases while ignoring pending cases against prominent AAP leaders like Somnath Bharti and Arvind Kejriwal.” Elvish argued that the data presented by Rathee in his videos is not only misleading but also incomplete which results in a biased narrative on social media.

Alleged Foreign Connections

Elvish detailed out how Rathee’s videos and Harsh Mander’s posts on social media have a well-established connection. Many of his videos like on CAA/NRC and other issues were published within 2-3 days of a post by Mander on social media on the same topic. Elvish Yadav said, “Harsh Mander, who is part of Sonia Gandhi’s advisory committee, has been involved in filing PILs against Hindus and defaming India internationally.”

He further pointed out the connection between Mander’s posts and Rathee’s videos and said, “On December 14, 2019, Harsh Mander tweeted about CAA and NRC, and three days later, Dhruv Rathee released a video on the same topic, spreading misinformation.”

Elvish also highlighted how Rathee and Aadil Aman, an AAP worker, were connected. They ran a Facebook Page on AAP together. Furthermore, Aadil Aman has shifted to Germany and operates from there. Adil Aman is also connected to Harsh Mander. He was also friends with Umar Khalid, one of the main accused in a larger conspiracy case in the anti-Hindu Delhi riots of 2020. Elvish pointed out how George Soros has pumped billion dollars in anti-India propaganda and Vice president of George Soros founded Open Society Foundation was part of Bharat Jodo Yatra. Harsh Mander was associated with George Soros’s NGO Open Society Foundation.

Elvish pointed out that Aadil Aman once organised a protest which was promoted by Rathee. Within days, a protest took place outside Brazil’s embassy. The “students” who participated in the protests were associated with the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI). Both are affiliated with the Left parties.

Aadil Aman in one of his Facebook comments hoped for the assassination of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. In another comment, he compared the Ramayana serial with a porn film.

Accusations of Anti-India Propaganda

Elvish Yadav criticised Dhruv Rathee for presenting manipulated content about India. He pointed out how Rathee’s videos on CAA and NRC spread false information and created a negative image of India’s leadership. Furthermore, In a recent video, he compared India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi with dictators like Hitler which was disinformation. Interestingly, while Dhruv Rathee called PM Modi a dictator, Elvish pointed out how Kolkata Police issued a warning to an X user for posting a meme on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee seeking his location details and a social media influencer Mumbaichadon was picked up from Goa by Karnataka police for “Defaming Congress”. On the other hand, PM Modi shared a similar meme made on him and said he enjoyed watching himself dance.

Notably, in one of the videos he published on electoral bonds, he claimed that the BJP took money from a company that exports beef. He also uploaded a short clip on his WhatsApp channel where he used Indian cows as props. Notably, the export of cow beef is banned in India. Rather conveniently skipped the point that any beef exported from India is Cara Beef or Buffalo Beef. His manipulative video was aimed at projecting the BJP as an anti-Hindu party.

Personal Attacks and Hypocrisy

Elvish said in his video that Rathee has a habit of blocking users who criticise him while he considers Indian leadership dictatorial. He explained, “Rathee blocks anyone who questions his narrative or criticizes him, which shows his inability to accept criticism.” He added, “Rathee uses bots and mass reporting tactics to suppress opposing views, demonstrating his dictatorial traits.”

Elvish pointed out the case of Karoline Goswami, a YouTuber who has been attacked multiple times for exposing Dhruv Rathee’s false narratives on social media. Furthermore, he said, “Rathee must have blocked thousands of social media users just for questioning his credibility. He has already blocked my keyword from the comments and hid any comment on X that mentions me.”

Elvish also pointed out how a video by Rathee against AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal in assault case resulted in rape and death threats.

Financial Motivations and Ethical Issues

Elvish Yadav suggested that Rathee’s actions are financially motivated. He pointed out his collaborations with foreign entities. He said, “Rathee collaborates with foreign entities like DW (Deutsche Welle) and promotes their narrative for monetary gains.” He also pointed out how Rathee once promoted a dubious cryptocurrency leading to several of his followers investing hard-earned money in it. The cryptocurrency turned out to be fake and everyone lost their money. Dhruv Rathee conveniently removed the portion from his video where he promoted that currency.

Controversial Comparisons and Statements

Elvish pointed out that Rathee has made several derogatory comments about Hindu Gods and symbols. In one of his statements, he compared Hindus wearing saffron scarf with terrorists like Osama-bin-Laden. In a conversation with a YouTuber, he claimed that Bhagwan Ram was a myth. Rather argued, “Believing in Ram’s existence because the places mentioned in Ramayana exist was equivalent to believing in Spiderman because New York exists.” Elvish said, “Rathee’s comments on Hindu deities and national symbols aim to provoke communal sentiments.”

Questionable Research Integrity

Elvish Yadav said Rathee’s followers believe that he does his research himself. However, in reality, he has a team that does the research and creates a script for him to present in the video. In the majority of his videos, the research has been done by one Vijeta Dahiya. He said, “Rathee’s content is written by Vijeta and edited by a team, showing that he does not independently research his videos.”

Uttar Pradesh: Man forces eighth wife into prostitution to fund his gambling and drinking habits, gives triple talaq, throws her out and assaults her

A shocking case has come to light in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad where a Muslim man first physically assaulted his spouse and then gave triple talaq to her. She was his eighth wife. He also pushed her into prostitution. According to the woman who is from Purnia, Bihar and lives in Jayantipur of Majhola, she had married a man from Gulabbari of Katghar Police station area six years ago. Later, she found out that he had cheated on her and had already married seven times previously.

She also presented a complaint letter to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hemraj Meena. The accused is an alcoholic and a gambler and wanted money to continue his debauchery. He, therefore, forced her to sleep with other men in order to fulfil his perverse demands. He even thrashed her when she protested. Afterwards, he pronounced triple talaq to her and kicked her out of the residence.

However, after she was kicked out, the man later reached the woman’s relative’s house where she was staying and tried to assault her. She was saved by locals.

The woman stated that she was at her aunt’s (wife of her mother’s brother) house on 17th May when the perpetrator arrived there with his brother and sisters and all three started to drag her out of the place. However, they ran away when people began gathering at the spot after hearing her screams and threatened to throw acid at her.

The woman unveiled that the offender weds women and then pressurises them into the flesh trade for money. She further mentioned that she has been staying at her maternal grandmother’s house since he gave her triple talaq.

SSP Hemraj Meena had ordered the Station House Officer (SHO) of Majhola to register a First Information Report in the case. According to the Circle Officer (CO) Civil Lines Arpit Kapoor, an official complaint has been launched against the Muslim male, his brother and brother-in-law on the basis of the victim’s submission under relevant sections including assault and triple talaq. The matter is currently under investigation.

‘Love jihad cases are on the rise’: How Hindu women from West Bengal are trafficked to Bangladesh and converted to Islam

For years, organized rackets have been abducting Hindu men, women, and children from West Bengal, smuggling them into Bangladesh, and converting them to Islam. Meanwhile, almost regularly, Hindu girls are being abducted from India – brought to Bangladesh and forced into religious conversion.

Following a recent incident, where a minor Hindu aged 15 was abducted by Sabbir Ahmed and his father from Sepahijila district in Tripura, Bangladesh authorities reportedly alerted Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to stay vigilant of such cases and stop Muslims from entering Bangladesh along with abducted girls and females from India.

But unfortunately, Bangladesh authorities have not warned local marriage registrars and courts to refrain from registering so-called interfaith marriages or conducting religious conversion of Hindu girls and females. As a result, cases of love jihad and conversion of Hindu girls are on an alarming rise.

Although such heinous crimes were first exposed in January 2020 in several local media outlets in Bangladesh, surprisingly, anyone sharing links to those reports was banned by Facebook, or the links were removed under the pretense of “violating community standards”.

Bangladesh’s leading Bangla daily Jugantor and the news portal Jagonews reported that 11 Indian nationals were arrested by local police from Ramganj upazilla in the Lakshmipur district. These individuals had been lured or abducted from West Bengal in India, smuggled into Bangladesh, and converted to Islam. Radical Islamic hate-preacher Mizanur Rahman Azhari conducted the “ceremony” of this religious conversion.

According to the report, an individual named Monir Hossain, son of Mojibul Haque and local union council member Fatema Begum, disappeared from Bangladesh in 2006 at the age of 14. He went to West Bengal by joining Tablighi Jamaat and started living there, pretending to be a Hindu named “Shankar Adhikari”.

In West Bengal, he married a Hindu woman. After living in West Bengal for more than a decade, Monir Hossain and his wife fell into the trap of Tablighi Jamaat, who lured them into converting to Islam. Later, Tablighi Jamaat introduced Monir Hossain, alias Shankar Adhikari, to an individual from Bangladesh who offered him a handsome amount of cash to lure Hindu women and girls, smuggle them into Bangladesh, and force them into religious conversion.

Subsequently, he succeeded in trapping six women, most of whom were relatives of his wife, and entered Bangladesh with visas. Upon their arrival, these six Hindu women, along with Monir Hossain’s wife and two children, were converted to Islam.

This is not the only case of Hindus being converted to Islam.

According to daily Jugantor report, in Habiganj district’s Baniyachang upazilla, a Hindu woman named Korful Sarkar, daughter of Borma Nandan Sarkar, fell victim to love jihad and was forcibly married by a Muslim named Kajol Mia. After living in such captivity, Korful Sarkar divorced her Muslim husband through the court and returned to the Hindu religion.

This made local Muslim leaders violently annoyed at her, and they declared her “out of bounds,” forcing her to live inside her father’s home. For years, she has been enduring this painful situation. At one stage, local Muslim leaders set a precondition for withdrawing their order against Korful: she, along with her father Borma Nandan Sarkar and other family members, must leave the Hindu religion and embrace Islam.

In another report, the Hindustan Times said a Hindu girl was abducted by Shamim Ahmed, headmaster of Ashalota Primary School, forced to embrace Islam, and married through the court. Later, the parents of the victim lodged a complaint with the local police station, and the perpetrator was arrested. However, the victim was not allowed to return to the Hindu religion.

In August 2023, a group of Muslims attempted to force a Hindu girl named Oishi Bonik to convert to Islam.

In another report, Dhaka’s oldest Bangla daily Ittefaq stated that Islamists sent letters to fifty Hindu families in the Magura district of Bangladesh, calling on them to leave the Hindu religion and embrace Islam. Although law enforcement agencies later arrested four Muslim culprits behind sending such letters, all of them were released from prison on bail and, until now, have not been convicted by the court.

Meanwhile, another report indicated that in Saudi Arabia, although 347,000 Hindus were lured into religious conversion by organized Islamist groups led by Tablighi Jamaat, radical Muslims tried to divert attention by spreading misleading information, claiming “347,000 Muslims have embraced Islam”.

There also is horrifying information of forcing Hindus into religious conversion in Pakistan and other countries.

Another report stated that in January 2023, a Hindu couple – Ashok Mitra (65) and Parboti Mitra (40) in Madaripur district, Bangladesh – had to leave the Hindu religion and become Muslim to save their lives from continuous repression and notoriety by local Muslims.

In the same month, another Hindu woman named Sagarika Das fell victim to love jihad and married a Muslim youth after religious conversion. She was trapped by Abul Hashem through Facebook.

Most shocking information about love jihad was published in Dhaka-based news portal Bangla Tribune, where it has been revealed how Chennai police had simply buried the case of an “international love jihad”. According to the report, Sardar Nafis, son of Sardar Sakhawat Hussain Bokul, leader of Al Qaeda-connected Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) lured a Hindu girl while studying in the United Kingdom. Later, the father of the victim – a wealthy businessman from Chennai lodged a complaint with police stating his daughter was trapped in love jihad by Sardar Nafis, who later forcibly took her to Bangladesh – forced into religious conversion and married. Following this incident, the victim called managed to contact her parents in Chennai and informed them that she has been trapped by Sardar Nafis and now is being regularly facing physical and sexual torture.

In the complaint, the victim’s father also said, to brainwash his daughter, Sardar Nafis used notorious hate-preacher Zakir Naik’s videos. But finally, investigating agencies had mysteriously submitted a final report stating, the Indian girl had willingly converted to Islam and it was not a case of international love jihad.

Such cases of forced religious conversion of Hindus remind us of the 1971 war of independence of Bangladesh when several Hindu families had to convert to Islam to save their lives from the extreme notoriety of Pakistani occupation forces. After 54 years of independence, Hindus in Bangladesh still continue to face extreme cruelty, persecution, and torture, leaving them with two options: either leave the Hindu religion and become Muslim or migrate to India by abandoning their homes, properties, and businesses.

Meanwhile, several years ago, Dhaka-based newspapers published a shocking information stating several Hindus, following religious conversion were lured into joining militancy outfit such as Ansar Al Islam (local franchise of Al Qaeda) to Islam and were deployed into terrorist activities while they even had travelled to foreign countries including Syria and joined Islamic State as its fighters.

Amidst soaring heat, water shortage continues in Delhi, residents scramble after water tankers with empty buckets

The water crisis in the national capital amid soaring temperatures has left residents scrambling with empty buckets after water tankers.

Delhi’s Okhla, Chanakyapuri’s Sanjay Camp area and the Geeta colony area are among those facing acute water shortages. Residents queued in many areas of the national capital waiting to fill their buckets in the blazing heat.

In video, people can be seen climbing atop a moving water tanker as several other residents run along it with buckets and pipes.

Meanwhile, speaking on the water crisis in Delhi, Water Minister Atishi said, “Because of the heatwave, water demand has increased and on the other hand, the water level in Yamuna has decreased. Last year, there was 674.5 ft of water in the Wazirabad pond… Despite so many requests, only 671 ft of water has been released… All water treatment plants are being affected due to low levels of water in the Wazirabad barrage… We have requested Haryana and UP government to release more water.”

On May 31, the Delhi government approached the Supreme Court to get immediate additional water from neighbouring Haryana.

Delhi government in its plea said that it is constrained to file the petition on account of the acute shortage of water being faced by the people of of Delhi, triggered by the ongoing severe heat conditions in North India, particularly in Delhi.

“Direct the Respondent no. 1 (Haryana) for immediate and continuous release of water at the Wazirabad barrage,” the plea stated.

In the ensuing water crisis, the Delhi government on May 30 said that a central control room will be established to monitor water supply across the national capital.

The war room will be headed by an IAS officer. Delhi Water Minister Atishi also released a number ‘1916’, where the residents can make calls to request water tankers. Notably, the Delhi government has accused the Haryana government of not releasing Delhi’s water share even after “so many talks.” She had further asserted if the water supply does not improve in the coming 1-2 days, then “we will move to Supreme Court also.”

Ravish ‘Pidi’ Kumar claims I.N.D.I. Alliance will get 295+ seats, smiles bitterly like Nero over a ruined empire

There is a popular adage, ‘When Rome was burning, Nero was playing the flute.’ For those unversed, Nero was the Roman Emperor when the Great Fire destroyed much of the city. In the present context, the Nero, we are talking about is not a king; rather, he is a ‘pidi.’ You must be familiar with ‘pidi’ – a pet that follows the dictates of its master. Many pidis are roaming around society, pretending to be YouTubers. They speak up and repeat their master’s scripts at the time of their master’s choosing, and when their master becomes silent, they go into hiding.

In our analogy, Rome is the symbolic empire built on the number of Lok Sabha MPs. Incidentally, this empire has been crumbling since 2014 due to its master’s neglect. However, these pidis, just like Nero, are doing the bidding for their master, offering consolation and inflating false hopes. One such pidi is Ravish Kumar, who needs no introduction. Nevertheless, since he is going on leave, just like his master, it’s worth mentioning.

All seven phases in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections have concluded. The results will be announced on 4th June. Exit polls show that the opposition parties are nowhere in the race, and the situation on the ground is more or less the same. However, YouTubers like Ravish Kumar are showing a picture of the I.N.D.I. Alliance meeting that took place on 1st June in Delhi to claim that the opposition alliance is winning the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with 295+ seats. These are the words of their master, but even the master is just a ‘mask’; in such a situation, ‘Pidi’ Babu is announcing victory. Because no one watches the news on TV channels, people only watch the YouTube channel of ‘Pidi Nero’ Kumar.

Anyway, the only reason for writing all this is that last night, the damn YouTube algorithm suggested, ‘Boss, watch this ‘Shabash Opposition’ video since you watched the previous one too.’ This video is about 22 minutes long, with the bosses blabbering for 8 minutes, and for 8-10 minutes, the self-proclaimed expert of ‘pidi media’ is seen repeating the bosses’ words. In the remaining minutes, he talks about how many subscribers his channel has gained and how much viewership it has received, as well as his plans to go on vacation. The sadness was clearly visible as he couldn’t wear a tie and couldn’t be a part of the newsroom, but he still said he was happy just for the sake of saying something.

In the video, Ravish Kumar said that Mallikarjun Kharge has claimed that the I.N.D.I. alliance will get 295+ seats. A total of two dozen leaders gathered in Delhi, making it a historic occasion. However, everything else that Ravish Kumar emphasised was a blatant lie.

United opposition stood firm: A blatant lie

What can be said about this? Mamata Banerjee, who claims to be part of the I.N.D.I. alliance, booted Congress and the Left out of West Bengal. In Punjab, Bhagwant Mann’s decision took precedence over Arvind Kejriwal’s decision and AAP bid farewell to Congress there. AAP and Congress came together in Delhi and Gujarat, but by then the fight had turned. In UP, an alliance was formed, and while Mamata didn’t leave a single seat in Bengal, she made a deal with Akhilesh to secure her own candidate in UP. With some luck, Akhilesh managed to get one seat in MP, but the nomination of his candidate was canceled. In some places, Congress candidates deserted, while in others, they couldn’t even find proposers. The whole world saw the coordination, or lack thereof, between the NCP (SCP), Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress in Maharashtra. Sharad Pawar was aiming to become the leader of the I.N.D.I. alliance, but now he doesn’t even have his party, and Uddhav Thackeray’s situation is quite similar.

In such a scenario, I struggle to comprehend where the unity lies in the alliance forged by Nitish Kumar and named by Mamata Banerjee. If this unity isn’t evident within the alliance, then what unity is ‘pidi’ referring to?

‘Pidi’ Kumar is acting to show himself indifferent towards TRP, the glamour of Newsroom as he deliberately left his ground reporting, ‘Ravish ki Report’ to enjoy the space of Prime Time shows and sit there wearing suit, boot, and tie. He did the same for over a decade, but now is trying to portray himself as helpless and destitute to urge people to like, share, and subscribe to his channel and putting a sad face for the same.
