Calling Dheerendra Shastri as his younger brother, PM Modi said that Shastri has long been enlightening people with the “mantra of unity” across the nation, and now he has undertaken the noble initiative of establishing a cancer institute. The Prime Minister asserted that now alongside the boon of spirituality, a gift of healthy life would also be bestowed.

Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, also known as Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, initiated a 'padayatra' where he will walk for 160 kilometres.

The complainant mentioned that in the interview, Bageshwar Baba promoted his supernatural powers and the channel allowed it to be shared, breaking the regulations of news broadcasting and digital standards. The complaint also alleged that Shastri promoted the idea of Hindu Rashtra and the love jihad "conspiracy".

While talking to the press reporters in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Bageshwar Dham said that Hindus must unite and fight for Sanatan Dharma.

"Those who have nothing to do with Hinduism, nor with Hindu rituals...nor with our saints and sages, should not be allowed to set up shop," Bageshwar Dham Dhirendra Shastri said ahead of Mahakumbh.

Controversy erupted when Muslim cleric Tauqeer Raza commented on the firecracker issue during Diwali and said that the extensive use of firecrackers was a waste of money.

"If we can have a Waqf Board, then, why can't we have Sanatani Hindu Board?" Bageshwar Dham Sakar inquired.

Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri is scheduled to organise a 'satsang' on 24th and 25th May in Dubai for the Hindu community.

Reports say that Dheerendra Shastri's programme will be held on 17th April in Chatra, Sunsari. Workers from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad promoting this event were attacked, escalating the tension.
