According to officials, many houses were buried under the debris and floodwater in the village. The Jammu-Pathankot National Highway is also reported to have sustained some damage.
Several Islamists expressed glee over the devastating flash floods that swept Uttarakhand, seeking perverse joy for the suffering faced by a predominantly Hindu Devbhoomi.
Reports say that around 20-25 hotels and homestays may have been washed away in the devastating floods. In the cloudburst incident, at least four people are reported dead.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert in Uttarakhand for the next five days. A red alert has also been issued amid a cloudburst incident in Kedarnath.
The Himalayan state has reported widespread destruction and deaths due to heavy rains, landslides, and cloudbursts reported from different parts of the state.
Heavy rainfall and landslide were reported on Friday evening however the situation worsened after the cloudburst occurred on Saturday at around 5:30 am
