On the midnight of 11th and 12th March, a fire erupted at a fish market or Machhli Mandi in Matiala, near Uttam Nagar in Delhi. The fire engulfed several shops and slum dwellings in a densely populated area. Reports say that more than 30 fire tenders have been deployed to douse the fire. Prima facie, the cause of the fire is said to be a short circuit.
