PV Midhun Reddy has been termed by the SIT as a "core conspirator" in the liquor scam. He is accused of influencing the officials of the Andhra Pradesh State Beverages Corporation Limited (ABPSCL).

"Despite all precautions, accidents still happened even at the Kumbh Mela," Justice Reddy said.

Andhra Pradesh police said that vehicles exceeding the permitted number were present in Reddy's convoy.

Former TDP Chairman and YSRCP leader YV Subbareddy had earlier denied all allegations of animal fat adulteration in ghee used to make the Laddu prasadam. He claimed that only organic ingredients were used in the preparation of Prasadam.

Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the quality of Tirumala Laddu had become substandard during the previous dispensation, and termed it a sacrilege. YSR Congress, meanwhile, refuted the claim
