Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Mamata Banerjee government on Thursday and said West Bengal needs freedom from "politics of violence, appeasement, riots and corruption" and that the people are looking towards "BJP's development model".

The TMC leaders met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as visited the residence of National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah. The TMC delegation met the family of retired army officer Amarjeet Singh who was killed in Pakistani shelling on 8th May.

While only Hindus are allowed inside the Puri Jagannath temple in Odisha and rightly so as the temple belongs to the Hindu deity Lord Jagannath, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, it is being said that people of all faiths will be allowed inside the Digha Jagannath temple.

"BJP carried out this attack to divert the public from the new Waqf law," Marjina Khatun alleged.

The leftist media downplayed the communal violence in Murshidabad as a minor incident unrelated to the express targeting of Hindus.

Yogi Adityanath stated that "Bengal is burning" and accused Mamata Banerjee of calling rioters "messengers of peace."

Some TMC leaders blamed the BJP and Hindus for the Murshidabad violence whereas others dismissed its severity.

The West Bengal Police did an elaborate 'fact check' on the post. Taking each individual image from the collage, reverse searching the image and highlighting how they were from different festivals, some unrelated to Bengal and some images from other states during either Hindu festivals or from 2019 when Islamists had run rampage all over India, including Bengal's Murshidabad, and organised an anti-Hindu riot in Delhi.

Muslim minors have been involved in several violent incidents across the nation, especially over the last few months.

The incident sparked a nationwide outrage, especially after West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee,  a woman herself, downplayed Sandeshkhali rape cases passing them off as ‘minor incident’.
