According to the Ministry of Railways, the previous record for implementing Kavach stood at 324 route kilometres on the Kota-Mathura section of the West Central Railway.
Lauding the punctuality of the divisions in Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “I would like to inform you with great pleasure that out of our 68 divisions, there are 49 divisions whose punctuality is more than 80%. What is even more proud is that there are 12 divisions where punctuality has reached 95%.”
By increasing train length from 16 to 24 coaches, the Ministry was able to significantly reduce the cost of contract for making Vande Bharat sleeper trains.
In Ajmer, cement blocks weighing one quintal were placed on the railway track for about 1 kilometer. The blocks were placed between two places, Saradhna and Bangad Gram station. However, the potential train accident was averted as the blocks broke and fell apart the track.
Regarding the concerns of overcrowding, the Ministry of Railways also noted that the Indian Railways is running a record number of additional trains in this season to facilitate passengers.
