Francesco Mangiacapra, a gay male escort, has compiled a 1200 page dossier containing the names of 40 actively gay priests and seminarians. The dossier has been forwarded to the Vatican by the Archdiocese of Naples. According to reports, the dossier contains erotic photos and explicit WhatsApp messages.

The escort told the local media that he could not put up with the “hypocrisy” any longer. He said that he means no harm to the Catholic Church. In an interview with Catalonia Today, he said, “I want to explain right away that mine is not a gesture that goes against the Catholic Church, indeed, it is paradoxically in its favour” However, the escort clarified that he was not accusing anyone of committing any criminal acts such as pedophilia or rape. “We’re talking about sins, not crimes,” he was quoted as saying.
The Catholic Church considers homosexuality to be a “grave depravity” and asserts that the LGBT Catholics are “called to chastity”. The Vatican has been rocked by many grave scandals in the past involving pedophilia and sexual predators among the clergy. Compared to the rest, the present case appears to be much milder as the presence of actively gay clergymen has been an open secret in recent times.
