Poster urging Rahul Gandhi to give Jyotiraditya Scindia ‘national leadership’ seen outside Bhopal Congress office

Scindia had resigned yesterday from the post of Congress' general secretary.

This monsoon, it is raining resignations in Congress party. After Rahul Gandhi’s resignation drama, there have been mass resignations of many other office bearers. Most recently, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Milind Deora had resigned from their respective posts too.

Amidst all this, a poster appealing Rahul Gandhi to give Jyotiraditya Scindia ‘national leadership’ was reportedly seen outside the office of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee in Bhopal.

The poster, apparently on behalf of ‘all Congress workers in MPCC’ appeals to Rahul Gandhi that their leader Jyotiraditya Scindia should be given ‘national leadership’ role as per his working style.

Scindia had announced yesterday that taking responsibility for the party’s defeat in the general elections, he has submitted his resignation from the post of general secretary to party president Rahul Gandhi.

The drama for the Congress president post has been ongoing for over a month in the party. After Rahul Gandhi declared that he is resigning as party chief, there have reportedly been divided opinions within the party on who shall succeed him. While a faction of leaders wants a Gandhi family loyalist old guard at the post, there is another faction which supports young blood.
