Nepal: Communal violence after Muslims protested against Lakshmi idol procession in Kapilvastu leaves one dead

The police had opened fire at the locals when they allegedly violated the curfew. 

Communal violence has reportedly broken out in Nepal’s Kapilvastu district after Muslims protested against procession of Goddess Lakshmi for idol immersion after Lakshmi Puja on Thursday morning. Local administration put up curfew after tensions flared.

Later in the afternoon, a man, Suraj Kumar Pandey, resident of Kapilvastu died after being hit by a bullet for allegedly breaking the curfew. The police had opened fire at the locals when they allegedly violated the curfew.
