Captain Smit Machchhar has recently captured global attention following a harrowing and unprecedented incident in the skies. While piloting a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv carrying Israeli passengers, an extreme security threat unfolded directly inside the cockpit. His Islamist Omani co-pilot abruptly launched a knife attack against him and attempted to seize control of the aircraft with the clear intention of crashing it.
Despite being critically wounded and bleeding, Captain Machchhar showed immense courage and presence of mind. Refusing to let the disaster spiral out of control, he raised an emergency alert and made the vital decision to open the cockpit door. This allowed passengers to rush in, overpower the assailant, and neutralise the threat before it could turn into a 9/11-style catastrophe. His exceptional bravery saved the lives of nearly 180 people on board.
My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.

Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air…
The aircraft was eventually diverted to Saudi Arabia, where Captain Machchhar received medical treatment, while leaders and the public worldwide hailed him as a true hero.
"The brave Indian pilot is in very bad shape, but he had the sense to, amazing, to, in a way he was a HERO": Donald Trump praises Indian pilot Smit Machchhar. He also praised the Israeli passenger who overpowered the terrorist. pic.twitter.com/0NgBRnq6ea

Islamo-leftists’ attempts to downplay the achievement
While the rest of the world and several prominent international leaders praised the Indian pilot for his incredible heroism, the whole domestic Islamo-leftist ecosystem reacted with scepticism.
Instead of acknowledging his life-saving actions, the leftists came up with several propaganda angles and attempted to downplay his achievements and cast doubt on the nature of the terrorist attack perpetrated by the Omani pilot, whose identity remains heavily shielded. The self-proclaimed journalists, but actual propagandists and commentators, rushed to frame the event through a cynical political lens, shifting the focus away from the thwarted jihadist attack and instead targeting India, Hindu identity, and Israel.
Narrative manipulation and blame it on Israeli propaganda
The attempt to distort the narrative manifested through various social media statements from well-known leftist commentators. Arfa Khanum Sherwani from the leftist propaganda website The Wire took to her X account to cast doubt on the entire event. She wrote, “The ‘world-famous’ Israeli propaganda machine is on fire and Indian audiences seem only too eager to consume whatever it serves up, no questions asked. Guess why?” By saying this, she attempted to dismiss the verified hijacking attempt as a mere Israeli propaganda.

Guess why?
Similarly, propagandist and donation fraud accused Rana Ayyub sought to frame the incident through the lens of anti-Muslim sentiment and indirectly called the whole incident Islamophobic.
In her X post, she claimed, “The Indian right wing’s love affair with Israel and Netanyahu is ultimately rooted in one thing: its visceral hatred of Muslims. Their admiration for Modi and Netanyahu comes from the same impulse- leaders who will subjugate Muslims and ‘show them their place’ in the world.”

> Single handedly destroyed the plan of Netanyahu.
> They were prepared for faking major attack and blaming on Iran.
> Gujju Pilot came out of syllabus.

Another extreme voice in the ecosystem vented direct blame at the Israeli Prime Minister, posting: “Meet Captain Smit Machchhar. Single-handedly destroyed the plan of Netanyahu. They were prepped to fake a major attack, blaming it on Iran. Gujju Pilot came out of syllabus. Attacking your own citizens & blaming neighbours is an old tactic used by a specific group.”

Adding to this bizarre chorus of cynicism, another leftist voice, actor-turned-YouTuber Kamal Rashid Khan, took to social media to trivialise the danger and feed personal animosity towards the captain. Dismissing the life-or-death reality of the threat, he posted on X: “Now, when I fly, then the first thing I will do is ask whether the captain of the plane is Smit Macchhar. If Smit is the pilot, then I will not fly in that flight for even free.”
Now, whenever I’ll fly, then first thing I will ask, whether the captain of the plane is Samit Macchhar. If Samit is the pilot then I will not fly in that flight even free.

Continuing his petty attacks, he further wrote: “Pilot Samit Macchar always wanted to become famous, so he was on podcasts and other stuff. Finally, he has become famous.”

Selective outrage and hypocrisy
This leftist ecosystem’s propaganda highlighted a deep pattern of selective outrage, particularly regarding figures like Arfa Khanum Sherwani, who calls herself a journalist. She heavily promotes narratives questioning international events; she remains conspicuously silent on major jihadist attacks in India, such as the Pahalgam terrorist attack where 26 civilians lost their lives in April last year. In the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistani terrorists, in a calculated and cold-blooded operation, gunned down 26 civilians after specifically identifying them as Hindus.
At the same time, she publicly mourned at the uninvited funeral of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in Iran. For individuals within this ideological framework, the terror attacks are often written off as false flags.
For Arfa, figures like Ayush Malik, who convert to Islam, are elevated as icons and national heroes, and genuine heroes celebrated globally are dismissed as fabrications.
How the incident could have been used to push anti-India and anti-Hindu narratives
The situation could have taken a catastrophic turn had the plane actually crashed, potentially paving the way for malicious exploitation by these islamo-leftists and anti-India forces. In the event of a tragedy, the Hinduphobic and anti-India coterie would likely have descended upon the wreckage to manufacture narratives of Muslim victimhood, turning Captain Machchhar into a convenient scapegoat while letting the actual perpetrator fade into the background.
Neo-Nazis, racists, and cross-border elements from Pakistan would have seized the opportunity to run aggressive smear campaigns against India and Hindus, branding Indian pilots as “unsafe” and “incompetent.”
This dynamic echoes the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, where brave police officer Tukaram Gopal Omble risked his life to capture Ajmal Kasab alive, preventing the attackers from hiding behind false-flag narratives of “Hindu terror.” Just as Omble’s immense sacrifice exposed the truth behind that dark chapter, Captain Machchhar’s quick thinking blocked a devastating tragedy. It prevented the Islamo-leftists from flipping the narrative against India and the Hindus.
Conclusion
When confronted with an act of extraordinary courage that captured the admiration of the entire world, the domestic Islamo-leftist ecosystem found itself cornered. Unable to suppress or ignore the global praise for Captain Smit Machchhar, who risked his life to prevent a catastrophic disaster, these propagandists resorted to desperate tactics. By attempting to reframe a thwarted jihadist hijacking as “Israeli propaganda” or twisting it into an instance of “Islamophobia,” they revealed a deep-seated bias that routinely prioritises ideology over human lives and national pride.
Ultimately, their desperate manoeuvres to downplay Captain Machchhar’s monumental achievement failed to distort the truth. Just as past national trials exposed those who sought to weaponise tragedy for partisan and communal agendas, this incident laid bare the transparent hypocrisy of the Islamo-leftist coterie. Captain Machchhar stands firmly as a global hero whose quick thinking and immense bravery saved hundreds of lives, leaving propaganda-driven detractors scrambling to salvage narratives that collapsed under the weight of facts and heroism.
