Chola dynasty sceptre ‘Sengol’ to be placed in the new parliament building by PM Modi, was forgotten after handed over to Nehru as a symbol of transfer of power

The new parliament building of India will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 28 May. On this occasion, a historic event will be revived, when a historic sceptre, ‘Sengol’, will be placed in the new parliament.

Addressing a press conference today in Delhi, home minister Amit Shah said that the ‘Sengol’ will be introduced as a ‘significant historical’ symbol of Independence, as it was a symbol of the transfer of power from the British to Indians. He informed that the sceptre, which is from the Chola dynasty, will be kept in the new parliament.

Amit Shah said that while the historically significant sceptre was used as a transfer of power in 1947, it vanished after that as it was kept in museum, and the successive Congress governments and the general public quickly forgot about it. Now the Modi government is reviving the glory of the Sengol by placing in India’s parliament.

Sengol is a Tamil world, which means full of wealth. “This Sengol has huge significance. When PM Modi got to know about this, he asked to get more info on this,” Amir Shah said. He added, “August 14, 1945, around 10:45 Nehru accepted this Sengol from the people of Tamil Nadu. It is a sign of a shift of power from Britishers to the people of this country.”

When it was decided that the British will hand over power to the Indians, Lord Mountbatten asked Pandit Nehru about the cultural symbol that should be used as a representation of the transfer of power. However, Nehru was also not sure, he sought some time to discuss with others. He discussed the matter with C Rajagopalachari. He studied multiple historic books and informed Jawaharlal Nehru about the Sengol.

The Sengol was used by the Choals when power was transferred to a new king. Adheenams, the Saivite priests, had presided over the rituals. And the same Sengol was adopted in 1947 to mark the transfer of power from Mountbatten to Nehru.

The gold-plated silver Sengol that was handed over to Nehru was hand-crafted by Jeweller Vummidi Bangaru Chetty in Madras and was ordered specially for the occasion. The golden sceptre is studded with jewels and was worth about Rs 15000 at that time. Nandi, the bull vahana of Lord Shiva, sits on the top of the sceptre. Nandi is the protector and symbol of justice, said the description given at the press conference. The Sengol is 5 feet long, which is a masterpiece of Indian art with rich workmanship from top to bottom.

Following that, the head of the Thiruvaduthurai Mutt Sri La Sri Ambalavana Desika Swamigal sent the Sengol to Nehru, who accepted it to use as a symbol of power. The seer had sent a delegation carrying the sceptre in a special aircraft arranged by the government.

The sceptre was then handed over to Lord Mountbatten by Sri La Sri Kumaraswamy Thambiran. The British Viceroy then handed it back to the seer. After that, a purification ceremony of the Sengol was carried out by Sri La Sri Kumaraswamy Thambiran. The Sengol was taken to the Constituent Assembly Hall in a procession accompanied by the ‘nadaswaram’ of Adinam Vidwan TN Rajaratnam Pillai.

Amit Shah said that the use of the Chola Dynasty Sceptre during the transfer of power was widely reported by world media, and Time magazine had published several photographs. But the sceptre vanished from public view after August 1947, and people forgot about it. 31 years later in 1978, Chandrashekarendra Saraswati told his disciple Dr BR Subramaniam about the sceptre, who wrote about it in books. Amit Shah said that Tamil media had covered it widely, and the Tamil Nadu government also mentioned it.

The home minister said that the government considers that keeping the Sengol in a museum is inappropriate, and nothing can be more appropriate place for the sceptre then the parliament building. He said that on the new Parliament House will be inaugurated, PM Modi will accept the Sengol from Tamil Nadu, and place it near the chair of the Lok Sabha speaker.

“I believe that this will be a rare and important moment to relate with the Indian traditions,” he said.

The home minister added that one person who witnessed the 1947 transfer of power event will also attend the inauguration of the new parliament house.

NIA team to arrive at London to probe attack on Indian High Commission by Khalistanis, R&AW had met British Intelligence to discuss radicalism too

A five-member team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) departed for London on May 23 to conduct an inquiry into the event, which transpired two months prior and included the national flag at the Indian high commission in London being pulled down during a demonstration by pro-Khalistan elements. The development took place a day after meeting with British intelligence personnel in Delhi.

The NIA team is conducting an investigation on the United Kingdom’s soil for the first time. The NIA team has also carried a list of Khalistani links in the city which they may share with Scotland Yard.

Senior representatives from Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) and the NIA reportedly met with British intelligence officers on Monday to discuss anti-India actions in the UK, including pro-Khalistan radicalism.

At the fifth India-UK Home Affairs Dialogue (HAD), which was held in Delhi on April 12, India expressed its worries over the pro-Khalistan forces’ abuse of the UK’s asylum status to support and encourage terrorist actions in India. Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the Union Home Secretary of India, and Matthew Rycroft, the Permanent Secretary of the Home Office, each, headed their respective delegations. Several top officials from both countries attended the meeting.

“Following the India-UK Home Affairs Dialogue last month, intelligence agency officials of the UK and India decided to meet and discuss the pro-Khalistan elements. The R&AW officials raised several issues, including increased monitoring of UK-based pro-Khalistan extremists. They also discussed the breach of security of the Indian High Commission and also about Avtar Singh, alias Khanda,” a source informed.

The Union Home Ministry ordered the NIA to launch a new case last month in relation to the assault and ordered Delhi Police, which had filed an FIR under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), to turn over the investigation to the former.

An officer said that the decision was reached after preliminary research indicated that Pakistan’s ISI was involved in a terror connection. A source revealed, “On Tuesday, an NIA team left for London. The team will seize CCTV footage and examine the crime scene. They will also meet senior officials to record their statement.”

The complainant, assistant personnel and welfare officer at the High Commission Kiran Kumar Vasant Bhosale, stated in the First Information Report (FIR) that on 19 March afternoon, as he was passing through the routine security check when he noticed a group of between 50 and 60 Khalistan protesters in front of the building.

“They were carrying yellow flags used by Khalistani separatists. I immediately informed the Diplomatic Protection Group (DPG) through an SOS call about the emerging situation,” the FIR read.

“I saw one Avtar Singh, alias Khanda, and one Gurcharan Singh (both) frequently seen near the High Commission. They were among the leaders of the violent mob and were instigating it by shouting anti-India and pro-Khalistan slogans,” he added.

Notably, the centre amended the NIA Act in August 2019, empowering the agency to investigate terror activities against Indians and Indian interests abroad apart from cyber crimes and human trafficking.

On March 19, a group of demonstrators brandishing pro-Khalistani signs and waving Khalistan’s yellow and black flag grabbed a Tricolour atop the Indian High Commission in London. Videos of the violent crowd showed them waving the Khalistan flag and demanding that the Waris Punjab De chief and extremist Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh be freed.

One of them is even filmed scaling a balcony and amid applause from the other individuals, removing the Indian flag from a pole in front of the high commission. However, police officers arrived on the spot and prevented the protestors from approaching the entrance of the Indian High Commission.

An employee of the High Commission had said that the one who attempted to knock down the Tricolour assaulted and wounded him, and that the throng outside had done extensive damage to the mission’s property.

The footage indicated that the Khalistanis shouted obscenities towards Indian authorities inside the building.

Based on the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)’s directives, the Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Radicalization unit filed an FIR and started its inquiry.

‘The Kerala Story’ screening at Birmingham disrupted by Islamists who raised ‘Free Kashmir’ slogans, video posted by platform that furthered anti-Hindu rhetoric during Leicester

Islamists in Birmingham disrupted a screening of the recently released blockbuster Bollywood movie named ‘The Kerala Story’ which is being criticized by the leftist cabal in India because it shows the reality of ISIS indoctrination and conversion of Hindu women. A group of protesters led by a Kashmiri Islamist identified as Shakeel Afsar stormed the screening on Friday at a Cineworld theatre in Birmingham.

According to the reports, Afsar, 35, entered the cinema hall with a group of violent protesters and caused the film to be paused. The video of the incident was posted by the British Muslim news website ‘5Pillars’ and has been shared widely. It is pertinent to note that 5Pillars was also at the forefront of calling for violence and spreading fake news leading to the Leicester violence, where Muslims had targeted Hindus. It is also pertinent to note that a Temple had been gheraod by Islamists in Birmingham during the Leicester violence.

In the video clip, Afsar along with at least two others could be seen asking to speak to the cinema manager about the alleged ‘Islamophobic’ nature of the film. As chaos broke out, audience members were spotted confronting the activists and demanding them to leave, as per the reports. The Cineworld crew was forced to stop the film as a result.

A theatre employee was heard advising the audience, “If you want to watch this film, you should calm down first I am going to resume this film. We’re trying to deal with this in the best way we can. We’ve paused the film, we’ve turned the lights on, we’ve called the police.”

The protesters claimed that the film was propaganda from India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). They also accused the audience of being members of the BJP and RSS and asked them to speak to the manager about the alleged “Islamophobic nature” of the film.

“This film is lies. This film is made to divide us. We have lived together for many years. Narendra Modi has endorsed this film. An extremist has endorsed this film. We will not allow it,” Afsar said. He also chanted the slogans of “Free Kashmir”.

Shakeel Afsar last year forced cancellation of ‘The Lady of Heaven’ screenings in UK

Afsar, a businessman and real estate developer, sponsored a push to have ‘The Lady of Heaven’ removed from theatres last year. As per the reports, ‘The Lady of Heaven’, released last year, tells the story of the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s daughter Fatima from a Shia Muslim perspective.

The Muslim protesters led by Afsar reportedly demonstrated outside the cinema theatres in the UK and held placards that read, “Our Prophet, Our Honor’. The theatres in the UK were hence forced to cancel all screenings of a film about Islamic history for security reasons following massive protests.

Afsar was banned by UK court after he ‘inflammed tensions’ amid protest against LGBT lessons at Birmingham school

Further after protesting against the teaching of LGBT values in Birmingham in 2019, he was also forbidden from holding future demonstrations there. Shakeel Afsar was a lead protester among the British Muslim mob of around 300 protesters who demonstrated against LGBT lessons being taught at Anderton Park Primary in Birmingham. He was also accused of ‘inflaming tensions’ by inviting a controversial imam who claimed anal sex, paedophilia and transgenderism were being taught in schools to a demonstration.

The Imam Mullah Bahm was seen holding up a picture of a gingerbread man with genitalia during the largest demonstration, which took place outside the Sparkhill school and attracted more than 300 protesters, including small children. Bahm yelled accusations that there was an ‘agenda’ behind school teachings and urged for large-scale demonstrations, stating it was important to demonstrate that ‘Muslims are not asleep’ on this topic.

Afsar claimed he had never met Bahm and that he had not invited him to the demonstration during the cross-examination. He said he was not aware of Bahm’s plans to deliver such a contentious speech and that he did not “endorse” it.

However, a video depicting Afsar introducing the imam at the rally, holding up the drawing of the gingerbread man, and momentarily holding the microphone as Bahm spoke was later played for the court. Later Afsar, his sister Rosina Afsar who had two children at Anderton Park but had since removed them and Amir Ahmed were banned from coordinating protests outside the school.

Shakeel was reportedly ‘bitterly disappointed’ by the court ruling and had said that he would continue to protest in the same area.

‘The Kerala Story’ also called off by pressure group ‘Muslim Engagement and Development’

An advocacy organisation called Muslim Engagement and Development or MEND has also urged its followers to ask theatres to stop showing The Kerala Story because it will “undoubtedly fuel Islamophobic tensions and divisiveness,” according to the group. The film was internationally released on May 12 and has been facing criticism from leftists.

MEND, also known as “Muslim Engagement and Development,” is viewed as a pressure advocacy organisation that has been charged with promoting an Islamist agenda. As a co-founding organisation of the awareness month campaign, several of its staff members, including senior leadership, have come under fire for allegedly supporting extremist causes such as spreading antisemitic conspiracies and downplaying terrorist attacks.

About the Kerala Story

The Kerala Story, directed by Sudipto Sen, has become the second-biggest success of the year in India, exceeding the lifetime receipts of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, in less than two weeks. The multilingual project, featuring Adah Sharma and written and directed by Sudipto Sen, has garnered a lot of attention since the makers released its trailer. Liberals and the opposition particularly the Left and the Congress have labeled it as a propaganda piece and demanded a ban on its screening.

The movie revolves around Shalini Unnikrishnan, played by Adah Sharma, an innocent Hindu woman from Kerala, who is brainwashed by her Muslim friend and gets converted to Islam and marries a Muslim man. The lead actress soon realizes that she has been trapped in a huge terrorist web after she is raped, separated from her only child, and then forced to serve as a sex slave.

Sanjay Singh cries foul claiming ED ‘falsely framing’ AAP leaders in Delhi Liquor scam case, forgets Manish Sisodia’s confession

AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Wednesday alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been conducting search operations at the premises of several of his close associates in connection with the Delhi liquor scam.

The AAP leader took to Twitter to attack the central agency and PM Narendra Modi, claiming that they are targeting his party by ‘falsely framing’ leaders like Ajit Tyagi and Sarvesh Mishra, even after they found no proof against him.

“Modi’s dictatorship is at its peak. I am fighting against Modi’s dictatorship. The fake investigation of ED was exposed in front of the whole country,” he wrote in a tweet.

“When nothing was found from my premises, today ED raided the house of my colleagues Ajit Tyagi and Sarvesh Mishra. Sarvesh’s father is suffering from cancer, this is the end of the crime. No matter how much crime you commit, the fight will continue,” he added.

Sanjay Singh claimed that when he unveiled the ED’s phoney inquiry in front of the entire country, the Modi administration began exploiting its political position and misusing a central agency to target his party’s ministers.

Though there is no official confirmation from the agency, if media reports are to be believed, the ED is conducting searches at six locations in Delhi in the alleged liquor scam. Searches are being conducted at the residences of AAP leaders Ajit Tyagi, Sarvesh Mishra, Punit Tyagi and Amit Goel.

It is interesting that, on one side, Sanjay Singh has been crying foul, calling the probe a part of BJP’s vendetta politics for criticising PM Modi, while on the other hand, his close associate Manish Sisodia had himself made some startling admissions that affirm his role in the Delhi excise policy scam case.

In the above video, Sanjay Singh is heard emphatically rejecting his party’s role in the Delhi Liquor scam.

He is, however, not the sole member of the party who has been crying foul. Almost all members of the Aam Aadmi Party have embraced similar antics, stating that they are being targeted as part of BJP vendetta politics, since their roles in the multi-crore fraud are being exposed by the ED one at a time.

In fact, his close aide Manish Sisodia has been writing tear jerkers from Tihar jail to garner sympathy, ever since he has been arrested in connection with the scam. Only recently, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tried to score brownie points by sharing the ‘heart-wrenching’ poem written by his close aide Manish Sisodia from Tihar jail, where he is being held for his alleged role in the multi-crore Delhi Excise Policy or Delhi Liquor scam.

Delhi Liquor scam case: Manish Sisodia allegedly confesses to destroying two mobile phones

On May 18 reports emerged that the AAP leader has confessed to destroying two mobile phones which were sought by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam case. “This willful disposal of handsets containing incriminating evidence related to the policy is another incriminating circumstance against Sisodia,” the chargesheet against the AAP leader read.

On July 22, 2022, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) instructed the CBI to initiate an investigation into the excise scam. According to reports, Manish Sisodia began using a new mobile phone after this directive.

During the course of the probe, the CBI discovered that Manish Sisodia had utilized three different mobile phones between January 1, 2020, and August 19, 2022. Subsequently, on August 19, 2022, the investigating agency conducted a search operation and seized one phone from Sisodia’s possession. These developments are significant in unravelling the details of the case and shedding light on Sisodia’s Manish involvement in the Delhi liquor scam.

According to sources, Sisodia was served a notice under Section 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) concerning the two mobile phones. In response to the notice, he reportedly acknowledged the same fact. This information highlights Manish Sisodia’s acknowledgement of the notice and further strengthens the case against him.

ED says Sisodia planted emails to show public support for the policy

In may be recalled here that on April 12, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had opposed the bail of AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in a money laundering case connected to the excise policy exposing how he had planted emails to show the public support for the policy.

Manish Sisodia, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is presently in custody due to multiple allegations against him related to the Delhi Liquor Policy Scam. Despite his numerous attempts, the court has dismissed several of his bail pleas.

Allowing cow slaughter to conversions, here are three anti-Hindu demands that Amnesty India, with links to radical Islamists, has made from Congress in Karnataka

On May 23, Amnesty India, a dubious organisation that closed its office in India after multiple agencies started probing against it over allegations of FCRA violation, released a list of anti-Hindu “demands” for the newly-elected Congress Government in Karnataka. In their demands, they have called to remove the hijab ban in schools, allow cow slaughter and take action against Hindus who boycott Muslim shops.

In a series of tweets, Amnesty India called on Karnataka Congress to take “three priority actions” to uphold “human rights”.

In its first demand, Amnesty India asked to revoke the ban on women wearing hijab in educational institutes. They claimed, “The ban forces Muslim girls to choose between their rights to freedom of expression and religion, and their right to education, hindering their ability to meaningfully participate in society.”

Notably, every educational institute, be it a government or private, has a definite dress code, especially when it comes to schools. It all started in Karnataka in December 2021 when a group of Muslim girls started wearing hijabs in classrooms. When stopped, they protested against the government. As an after-effect, the government issued guidelines prohibiting religious attire in educational institutes in the state.

The Muslims protested against the notification and approached a court that upheld the government’s decision to ban hijab in classrooms. Currently, the matter is sub-judice in the Supreme Court. By placing such a demand, the defunct Indian chapter of Amnesty International is attempting to meddle with a sub-judice matter that can be seen as an attempt to influence the outcome at the apex court.

Amnesty India in its second demand asked for a review of the Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2020 and the Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Bill, 2022. In other words, Amnesty India has demanded to allow cow slaughter in Karnataka and let the anti-Hindu forces run conversion rackets (grooming jihad) in the state.

Amnesty India claimed that a ban on slaughter and religious conversions can be “misused and weaponised against minorities”. The tweet read, “Review and repeal discriminatory provisions in the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2020 and the Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Bill, 2022, which can be misused and weaponized against minorities.”

Furthermore, Amnesty India called for action against Hindus who boycott Muslim vendors. It said, “Ahead of the state elections, calls for economic boycott and violence against Muslim people were made with impunity. Ensure accountability for such advocacy of hatred and end hate crimes that are motivated by religious and caste-based discrimination.” Interestingly, there have been several reports where Muslims have called for boycotting Hindu businesses but Amnesty never called it a “hate speech”.

Amnesty India categorically failed to call out the hate-filled actions of the Islamists in India. For example, though it condemned the murder of Hindu tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, Rajasthan, the organisation did not mention even once that it was a communal murder done by two Islamists. They did not name the accused arrested by the police in their reaction to the horrifying incident.

Crimes of Amnesty

Amnesty International and its Indian chapter have a history of anti-Hindu and anti-India activities. In a report published in OpIndia in 2019, the connections between Amnesty International India, the British government, and radical Islamists were exposed. The organisation has a history of meddling with the internal affairs of India. It has constantly been trying to falsely project India as a violator of human rights and the ‘oppressor’ of Muslims.

Amnesty India and its former head Aakar Patel kept peddling blatant lies and fake news to portray India negatively. It also campaigned for the arrested Urban Naxals in the Bhima Koregaon violence case. Therefore, its actions are clearly tantamount to foreign interference in the domestic issues of India, and it is only appropriate that strict action is taken against it.

There is an ongoing investigation against Amnesty in India. In October 2022, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) attached assets worth Rs 1.54 crore of Amnesty International India under the anti-money laundering law for alleged violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act making the total attached assets worth over 21 crores. “A provisional order for attachment has been issued under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). With this attachment, the total attachment now stands at Rs 21.08 crores”, the ED said.

According to the reports, the order has been issued against the so-called NGO trust named Indians for Amnesty International Trust (IAIT), in connection with a case involving an alleged breach of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). The ED issued a statement that the organization carried out NGO activities in the guise of services export and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to escape the FCRA laws.

Hindu girl ends relationship with one Atiq Syed after watching The Kerala Story, girl’s family accuses the boy, who claims to have converted to Hinduism, of mental harassment

The film The Kerala Story has not only been minting huge box office collections but also spreading awareness among Hindu girls against the menace of grooming jihad (also called love jihad), conversions and Islamic brainwashing. The impact of the film was seen in Gujarat’s Bharuch wherein a Hindu girl ended her relationship with one Atiq Syed who is now claiming to have become a Hindu.

Reportedly, Atiq Syed, a Bharuch station area resident registered his marriage with a Shaktinath area resident Hindu girl around a year ago. The girl claims she was duped into registering the marriage and is unwilling to live with Atiq. However, Atiq is reluctant to abandon his pursuit of the girl. Following the breakup with the Hindu girl, Atiq is now claiming to have left Islam and embraced Hindu Dharma. Atiq, who claims to have changed his name to Aarab Parmar, posts images of himself sporting a Tilak on social media.

He wrote on social media about converting to Hinduism after witnessing Lord Shiva in his dream. The girl, on the other hand, claims that she saw her error after watching the film The Kerala Story. She firmly refused to reside with Atiq. Atiq, on the other hand, is pressuring the girl to stay with him. The girl admitted to her parents that she had made a mistake.

The Hindu girl told her parents how Atiq lured her and got their marriage registered. Reportedly, Atiq is not only pretending to be a Hindu but is also allegedly intent on committing suicide to force the Hindu girl to stay with him. According to reports, Atiq arrived at the girl’s residence and faked consuming poisonous medicine to pressurize the girl into going with him. The girl’s family has also accused Atiq Syed of mental harassment.

Furthermore, after the truth came out, Atiq’s family members tried in vain to persuade him. There has also been uproar in Atiq’s family about his supposed ‘conversion’ to Hinduism. In light of this, Atiq’s father grew fed up with his son and approached the police station.

Uttar Pradesh: Imran poses as Rahul, traps Hindu minor by creating a fake Instagram account, photos of the minor in a Hijab recovered from his phone

Another case of love jihad has come to the fore from the Moradabad city of Uttar Pradesh. The Police on Tuesday detained a Muslim boy named Imran Mansoori who posed as a Hindu boy named Rahul Gujjar to trap a minor Hindu girl in a relationship. The boy was detained at a hotel in the Budh Bazar area of the city.

The Police have filed an FIR against the accused and have booked him under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO Act. According to reports, the accused boy created a fake Instagram ID in the name of Rahul Gujjar. He then initiated a conversation with a Hindu minor girl who studies in 12th.

The boy reportedly trapped the girl in a love affair and asked her to meet him. Later the accused took her to a hotel in the Budh Bazar area of the city. On a general inquiry by the hotel manager, the girl noticed the accused providing a different ID in the name of Imran.

On asking, he said that he had created a fake ID card in the name of a Hindu so that people don’t recognize him. The girl happened to believe his lies. But, the hotel manager raised the suspicion of seeing a different ID of the accused. The manager also noticed that the girl was a minor.

He soon contacted some members of the Hindu organization and also called the Police. The Police launched an inquiry into the case to learn and further reveal that the accused was actually a Muslim boy and he had created a fake Instagram account in the name of a Hindu to trap a Hindu girl in a love affair.

Police recovered photos of Hindu minor wearing Hijab from Imran’s phone

One of the Hindu activists while exclusively talking to Dainik Bhasker stated that this is the case of Love Jihad. “The accused had created a fake ID in the name of a Hindu person. He trapped the 16-year-old Hindu girl. The police later found out that his actual name was Imran Mansoori. His phone was also seized and some photos of the victim girl wearing a Hijab could be seen. This is all nexus, like the one shown in the movie The Kerala Story. This is jihad, nothing else,” he said.

The Police also stated that the ID Imran presented to the hotel manager for registration was his original ID. The Police have booked the accused for cheating and trapping a Hindu minor girl. The case against the accused has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act. Further investigations are underway.

Similar cases from Uttar Pradesh reported earlier

Recently, a similar case was reported from Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh when Javed Alam was booked by the Police for abducting a minor Hindu girl, assaulting her and then forcefully converting her religion to Islam. The accused also trapped the minor girl in a love affair and forcefully married her.

The accused had been booked under sections 363, 366, 506, 323, 376 of the Indian Penal Code and under sections 3 and 4 of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act and under sections 3 and 5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition Of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act, 2021.

Also, on May 10, a court in Bareilly sentenced a doctor, Iqbal Ahmad to life imprisonment for killing his second wife, Nisha Devi, a resident of Saharanpur with the assistance of his two aides, Muhammad Yaseen and Misaryar Khan in 2021. The court issued the orders based on the testimony of his nine-year-old daughter who witnessed the murder incident.

The doctor had been identified as Iqbal and had posed as Raju to marry the victim. The wedding was solemnised in Saharanpur as per Hindu rituals. The couple then started staying in Saharanpur. As reported earlier, the man was already married but kept that a secret from Nisha. Nisha came to know about her husband’s identity when they moved to Meerganj in Bareilly. ‘Raju’ was actually Iqbal and he was already married. The accused then started putting pressure on her to embrace Islam, which she refused. Later the woman was found murdered.

Karnataka: After allegedly getting into pre-poll agreement, winning based on Muslim consolidation, Congress dismisses Maulana who demanded Dy CM post for Muslims

On May 22, the Congress-ruled Karnataka State Government issued an order to cancel the nomination of State Waqf Board Chairman Maulana NK Muhammad Shafi Saadi with immediate effect. The nomination of three other members named Mir Azhar Hussain, G Yakub and IAS Officer Zehara Nassem has been cancelled as well.

The order came at a time when Maulana Saadi was pushing the state government to elect a Muslim as Deputy CM. He had alleged that there was a pre-poll agreement between Congress and Muslims. Furthermore, Saadi said Congress won the Karnataka elections because of Muslim consolidation.

Saadi demanded high-profile ministries for Muslims including the Deputy CM post

A day after the Karnataka Assembly Election results were announced, Saadi demanded that a Muslim should get the post of deputy chief minister in Karnataka from the winning candidates of the community. They also demanded portfolios like Home, Revenue, Health and other departments for five Muslim MLAs. Karnataka State Waqf Board chief Shafi Saadi claimed 72 constituencies went into Congress’s hands only because of the Muslims. 15 Muslim candidates were fielded by Congress in the elections, out of which nine won.

While addressing the media, he said, “In about 72 constituencies, Congress won purely because of the Muslims. We, as a community, have given a lot to the Congress. Now it’s time we get something in return. We want a Muslim deputy chief minister and five ministers with good portfolios like Home, Revenue, and Education. It’s the responsibility of Congress to thank us for this. We held an emergency meeting in the Sunni Ulma board office to ensure all these are implemented.”

Saadi had at the time claimed that there was a pre-poll understanding that had been reached between him and the Congress party that he would canvass for Congress among the Muslim community. He had said that the Congress had assured him that the Deputy CM would be from the Muslim community. Interestingly, he had claimed that many Muslim candidates had left their constituencies, gone door to door and campaigned for Congress in other constituencies as well, focusing on the Muslim community voting for INC. He had also hinted that this was done in stealth.

It is also pertinent to note that SDPI, the political arm of banned terror outfit PFI, had extended full support to the Congress party for Karnataka elections. Earlier, they had planned to field 100 candidates, however, keeping in mind Muslim consolidation that Congress needed to win, they fielded only 15 candidates in the elections. All of them, except 1, had lost deposits leading to unbridled consolidation for Congress. They had also said that they would canvass extensively for the Muslim community to vote for Congress.

It would appear that after winning Karnataka through Muslim consolidation, if what Saad had claimed was true, Congress has summarily discarded him and clearly, backtracked on its alleged promises to its largest vote bank – the Muslim community.

PM Modi addresses issue of Khalistanis, other extremists attacking Temples in Australia, PM Albanese assures strict action in future: Here is what happened

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is on a three-day visit to Australia, on Wednesday raised the issue of attacks on temples in the country and said that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had assured to take “strict actions against such elements in the future.”

During a joint address with his Australian counterpart Albanese, PM Modi said, “PM Anthony Albanese and I have in the past discussed the issue of attack on temples in Australia and activities of separatist elements. We discussed the matter today also. We will not accept any elements that harm the friendly and warm ties between the India-Australia relationship by their action or thoughts. PM Albanese assured me once again today that he will take strict actions against such elements in the future also. Notably, several cases of Khalistani extremism and brawls between Khalistani activists and pro-India demonstrators have recently come to the fore in several parts of Australia. Indian flags were burnt and even a Hindu temple was vandalised recently in Australia.

Earlier, Albanese during his India visit in March had said that Australia won’t tolerate any extreme actions and attacks that took place in religious buildings, and there is no place for such action against Hindu temples.

Responding to a media query about the assurances that the Australian PM gave to his Indian counterpart, Albanese said, “I gave him the assurance that Australia is a country that respects people’s faith. That we don’t tolerate the sort of extreme actions and attacks that we have seen on religious buildings, be they Hindu temples, mosques, synagogues, or churches. This has no place in Australia.”

“And we will take every action through our police and also our security agencies to make sure that anyone responsible for this faces the full force of the law. We’re a tolerant multicultural nation, and there is no place in Australia for this activity,” the statement quoted him saying.

Earlier in March, addressing India-Australia: Exchange of Agreements and Press Statements, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Australian PM, in light of the recent attacks on temples in Australia had assured that the safety and well-being of the Indian community in Australia is a priority for him.

“Since the last few weeks, news of attacks on temples in Australia are coming regularly. It is natural that such news worries people in India. I have raised these concerns with Prime Minister Albanese who has assured me that the safety of the Indian community is a special priority for him,” PM Modi said. In March this year, Shree Laxmi Narayan Temple in Australia’s Brisbane was vandalised by pro-Khalistan supporters.

Sarah Gates, who is the Director of Hindu Human Rights said, “This latest hate crime is a pattern of Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) globally, clearly attempting to terrorise Australian Hindus. Coupled with a barrage of propaganda, illegal signs, and cyberbullying, the organisation intends to present all-pervasive threats, fear, and intimidation,” reported The Australia Today.

On January 16, Shri Shiva Vishnu Temple in Australia’s Carrum Downs was vandalised with anti-Hindu graffiti.

On January 12, the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Australia’s Mill Park was smeared with anti-India and anti-Hindu graffiti. The temple was vandalised by anti-India elements with anti-India slogans written on the temple’s walls, located in the suburb of Mill Park, The Australia Today reported.

TMC, AAP, CPI, CPIM to ‘boycott’ new Parliament building inauguration, Congress may be on the same path: Here is what the parties are saying

Ahead of the inauguration of the new parliament building on May 28, several political parties have decided to ‘boycott’ the event contending that it should have been done by President Droupadi Murmu rather than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Among the parties ‘boycotting’ the event are the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Communist Party of India (CPI), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and Communist Party of India (Marxist). Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Janata Dal-United (JDU) are also unlikely to attend the event as they raised objections over inaugurating the new parliament building on the birth anniversary of Veer Savarkar.

Announcing the party’s decision, TMC Derek O’Brien tweeted, “Parliament is not just a new building; it is an establishment with old traditions, values, precedents and rules — it is the foundation of Indian democracy. PM Modi doesn’t get that. For him, Sunday’s inauguration of the new building is all about I, ME, MYSELF. So count us out.”

CPI General Secretary D Raja has also said that his party will not attend the mega event.

CPI secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Binoy Viswam took to Twitter to express his objection to the inauguration event being held on Veer Savarkar’s birth anniversary and wrote, “How can we associate with such an endeavour that sidelines the @rashtrapatibhvn of India and link itself with the memory of Savarkar? Those who cherish the values of @parliamentary democracy and secularism can only keep away from this majoritarian adventurism.”

Meanwhile, AAP leader Sanjay Azad announced his party’s decision on Twitter as he wrote, “Not inviting Her Excellency the President Mrs. Draupadi Murmu ji to the inauguration ceremony of the Parliament House is a gross insult to her. This is an insult to the Dalit tribal and deprived society of India. @AamAadmiParty will boycott the inauguration program in protest against Modi ji not inviting Her Excellency the President.”

In a Tuesday tweet CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury termed the ‘bypassing’ of the President as ‘unacceptable’ as he wrote, “Modi bypassed the President when the foundation stone for the new Parliament building was laid. Now too at the inauguration. Unacceptable. Constitution Art 79: “There shall be a Parliament for the Union which shall consist of the President and two Houses…”

Meanwhile, JDU leader KC Tyagi has said that his party stands with the opposition over the issue.

Moreover, the Congress party has also objected to the inauguration of the new parliament building by PM Modi, however, it is unclear whether the party will attend or ‘boycott’ the May 28 event.

In a series of tweets posted on May 22, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge argued that the President is the highest constitutional authority adding that President Murmu represents the government, the opposition, and every citizen alike. Kharge further stated that the inauguration of the parliament building by the President would symbolize the government’s commitment to democratic and constitutional values.

Interestingly, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Tuesday posted a series of tweets addressing the issue wherein he accused the Congress party of lacking national spirit and sense of pride in India’s progress as he reminded that on October 24, 1975, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi inaugurated the parliament annexe and on August 15, 1987, PM Rajiv Gandhi ingrate the parliament library.

“They should feel better if they remember Oct 24, 1975, the day when Smt Indira Gandhi inaugurated the Parliament Annexe! Or August 15, 1987, when Sh Rajiv Gandhi laid the foundation of the Parliament Library!,” Puri tweeted.

Notably, PM Modi will on May 28 dedicate to the nation the newly-constructed Parliament building. This comes after Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met the Prime Minister on Thursday and invited him to inaugurate the New Parliament Building.
