On Sunday, May 14, a woman was shot dead inside the Dukhniwaran Sahib Gurdwara complex in Patiala. She was shot dead outside the manager’s office in the complex. The woman was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and was also consuming the same near the sarovar inside the complex.
The victim, identified as Parminder Kaur, was being taken to the manager’s room after onlookers inside the complex complained about her consuming alcohol inside the Gurudwara complex. However, before she could get inside the room or before the police could be informed, one of the onlookers opened fire and killed her on the spot.
One of the sevadars of the Gurudwara, who had objected to the consumption of alcohol inside the premises, was also injured in the shooting and was taken to the hospital.
The accused shooter has been identified as Nirmaljit Singh, a resident of Urban Estate, Patiala. He shot 5 bullets at the woman, leaving her in a pool of blood.
As per Patiala SSP Varun Sharma, Nirmaljit seemed to be religiously charged and shot the woman five times. More than three bullets hit the woman who collapsed right outside the manager’s room. Reportedly, Nirmaljit Singh had undergone a divorce recently and was a regular visitor to the Gurudwara.
As per DSP Jaswinder Tiwana, the accused is a regular cricketer and into property dealings as well. However, they can’t confirm his motivations behind the murder yet.
The weapon used in the crime is a licensed one, said SSP Sharma, adding that more details will emerge in some time.
The superintendent of Tihar Jail No. 7 has been given a show-cause notice for moving two inmates inside the cell of former Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain. Strangely enough, it is believed that the imprisoned minister asked for permission to be housed alongside at least two other prisoners, citing his condition of despair and the need for increased social interaction.
Satyendar Jain has been imprisoned since the Enforcement Directorate (ED) picked him up in 2022 in connection with a money laundering investigation. Jain reportedly applied for a change of jail cell on May 11.

“Jain in his application said he is feeling depressed and low because of loneliness. A psychiatrist suggested him for more social interactions and he requested to lodge him with at least two more persons. He also provided two persons’ names,” the official added.
The story of AAP leader Satyendar Jain receiving special treatment while imprisoned has been in the headlines for a while. Jain was accused of leading a lavish lifestyle in Tihar, with CCTV footage showing him receiving massages, greeting guests within the jail, and even eating a magnificent dinner inside his cell.
According to earlier CCTV footage, the co-accused in the case, Ankush Jain and Vaibhav Jain, who are both being held in the Tihar prison, were frequently met by Satyendar Jain, the Enforcement Directorate claimed. The central agency further asserted that Poonam Jain, Satyendar Jain’s wife, frequently visited him in jail.
The ED arrested the Delhi Minister on May 30. Jain was in charge of many departments at the time, including home and health, public works, power and water, industries, urban development, irrigation, flood control, labour, and employment. On August 30, 2017, the ED filed an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) based on the CBI’s earlier-filed disproportionate assets case against the Delhi Minister and others.
During the inquiry, the ED discovered that businesses that were beneficially owned and managed by him had accepted accommodation entries worth Rs 4.81 crore from shell firms in exchange for money sent to entry operators in Kolkata. Furthermore, it was claimed that these money were used to pay off debts acquired to buy agricultural land in and around Delhi, either directly or indirectly.
Hours after the Congress won the Karnataka Vidhan Sabha elections, a video of a mob of party supporters allegedly shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ went viral on social media.
The video is said to have been recorded in the Belagavi Uttar Assembly constituency, following the victory of Congress candidate Asif Sait. A copy of the contentious footage was posted on Twitter by popular user ‘Befitting Facts.’ The archive of his tweet can be accessed here.
In the 27-second-long video, a group of men in skull caps was allegedly heard yelling ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ in the presence of the police. Soon after, the usual suspects began disputing the allegations and claimed that the frenzied mob was shouting praises in the name of ‘Asif Sait’ and not Pakistan.

‘Befitting Facts’ rubbished those claims and tweeted, “Some people are saying that they are shouting “Asif Sait Zindabad” but Asif Sait is more famous as Raju Sait. Also you can hear from 0:08 in background police saying “video banao video banao, pakistan zindabad bol rahe.”
Propaganda Twitter handle ‘Drunk Journalist’ even went on to post two variants of slogans, which he claimed were raised by the group of Congress party supporters – ‘Asif Sait Zindabad’ and ‘Raju Sait Zindabad.’
Meanwhile, dubious ‘fact-checker’ Mohammed Zubair (@zoo_bear), who often comes in support of Islamists and those who are patently against the interests of India, courted controversy by ‘quote tweeting’ a video by a user ‘total_woke’ and claiming that the police personnel were asking the mob to not speak against another candidate.
“Lol. The police here says not to speak against other candidate and raise slogans only if your candidate arrives,” he responded to the tweet. Soon after, ‘total_woke’ deleted his tweet.

In the meantime, a report from the Kannada newspaper ‘Prajavani’ emerged. As per the report, the local police acknowledged the allegations about the chanting of pro-Pakistan slogans by a mob of people.
“You intentionally quoted wrong video. Anyway, here is the police statement on the matter,” he tweeted.

Zubair, who had earlier tried to suggest that there was no evidence of contentious sloganeering, was quick to do a u-turn to try and mitigate the blatant unverified news that he was attempting to spread in order to defend Islamists who had potentially raised pro-Pakistan slogans.

It almost seems like Zubair knew his assertions had been busted, however, to save face, he claimed that he spoke to Inspector Dayanand for Belagavi, who said that they had not confirmed yet whether the slogans were Pakistan Zindabad or Asif Sait Zindabad. He thus created confusion in an attempt to shield the Islamists.
As per a report by India TV, a case has been registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 153 (Wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot).
The development was confirmed by the Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) on Twitter. He said, “Case is registered and needful action is being taken.”
It is pertinent to note that while Mohammed Zubair initially did not even acknowledge the allegations of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans, he later claimed that the police are investigating the matter and have not reached any conclusion. He also added that the video footage was sent for forensic probe.
The glaring hypocrisy of AltNews and their mandate to save Islamists becomes evident when we look at one more case where pro-Pakistan slogans were raised and AltNews, as usual, had come to the defence of the Islamists. The Islamist they defended incidentally belonged to PFI – a now banned terrorist organisation which was planning the genocide of Hindus and turning India into an Islamic State where Sharia would apply – something ISIS did remarkably well.
Notably, Pakistan Zindabad slogans were raised at a rally which was held on February 7, 2021, in support of Nathulal Rao, who won the election from Ward 57 on the SDPI, the PFI’s political wing. Abdul Salam Ansari, former PFI district president, led the rally. The rally participants were clearly visible raising slogans in support of Pakistan in the viral video.
Abdul Salam, the former district president of the banned Islamist outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) was also arrested by Bhilwara Police for raising ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans in the rally.
However, AltNews had given PFI a clean chit not only before the investigation was conducted but also after the fact.
When the video had gone viral on social media, Mohammad Zubair and AltNews had claimed that Pakistan Zindabad slogans were not raised in the rally, in fact, the slogan that was raised was SDPI Zindabad. That tweet by Mohammad Zubair is still on his Twitter timeline.

In fact, the AltNews “fact-check” saving PFI is also still published on the website.
After the PFI terrorist was arrested, the police had issued a statement that the video had been sent for forensic analysis and that the analysis had confirmed that Pakistan slogans were indeed raised. It was on that basis that the PFI terrorist was arrested.
Nandlal Rinwa, in charge of the Subhash Nagar police station, stated that on May 15, 2022, Nemichand’s son Babulal Khatik, a Sanganer resident, filed a complaint in this regard, and the video was sent for forensic examination. According to the forensic report, shouts of Pakistan Zindabad were heard during the rally. Rinwa stated that Abdul Salam has been detained and that he is being questioned about other people who were present at the march, and that appropriate action was being taken.
Eventhough the police confirmed the slogans based on a forensic report, AltNews’ Pratik Sinha refused to accept it.

It is interesting that when forensic reports confirm Pakistan Zindabad slogans, AltNews refused to believe the reports, however, when the current video went viral on the internet today of the same slogans after the 2023 Karnataka Congress victory, the same Mohammad Zubair who had shielded PFI earlier, wanted to wait for the forensic report to confirm if the slogans were indeed raised.
In the meantime, the FIR copy of the case has also emerged which clearly states that Pakistan Zindabad slogans were indeed raised in the recent Congress celebration.
Pertinently, Mr Dayananda G. Shegunasi, Police Inspector Tilakwadi, Belgaum City said “When the Congress candidates from Belagavi district took the lead, Muslim boys there shouted slogans like “Zindabad Zindabad Pakistan Zindabad”. The FIR also says that provocative slogans were raised during the Congress rally.

While the investigation remains inconclusive, the usual suspects have already claimed that the accusations surrounding the raising of pro-Pakistani slogans are false. The conduct of Mohammad Zubair points to the fact that he and AltNews are more than happy to shield Islamists no matter what mental gymnastics they have to go through. In the 2022 case, they claimed that the slogans were SDPI Zindabad and even disregarded the forensic report (and subsequent arrest). In this case, they jumped to unleash an Islamist mob asking for FIRs against those sharing the video even though an FIR has been registered in the case. He then wanted to wait for a forensic report because, in this case, it suited the narrative, whereas he had dismissed a forensic report confirming Pakistan Zindabad slogans only a year earlier.
Nupur Sharma controversy, Alt News and Mohammad Zubair’s role
On May 26, former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma took part in a debate on Times Now about the Gyanvapi disputed structure case, where the other panellist from the Muslim community repeatedly insulted Bhagwan Shiv. Sharma responded by narrating what is written in Islamic holy scriptures about Prophet Muhammad. What she said has been widely quoted by Islamic scholars, including hate preacher Zakir Naik.
Mohammad Zubair, the co-founder of the so-called fact-checking website AltNews, used a cleverly trimmed video clip of the debate to target Nupur Sharma. He tweeted shortly after the debate, “Prime Time debates in India have become a platform to encourage hate mongers to speak ill of other religions.” Navika Kumar, the anchor of Times Now, is encouraging a rabid communal hatemonger and a BJP spokesperson to say things that can incite riots. Shame on you, Vineet Jain.”
It was after Mohammad Zubair shared the edited video clips of the debate that sparked outrage against Nupur Sharma and anti-India campaigns emanating from Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Pakistan. Multiple Islamic leaders and organisations made death and beheading threats to Nupur Sharma. Riots erupted in several parts of the country. On 10th June 2022, Islamist mobs led to riots in many areas after the Friday Namaz. Muslim mob raised hateful slogans against Nupur Sharma, vandalized public property, and even attacked police and citizens. In Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur, Prayagraj, and other districts several incidents of stone pelting and vandalism were reported. While the names of the places changed the pattern of ‘protests’ remained the same.
In June, a Hindu tailor Kanhaiyalal was beheaded in Rajasthan’s Udaipur by two Islamist terrorists for supporting Nupur Sharma. ‘Sar tan se juda’ became the new ‘normal’ response to anyone opposing the Islamist ideology.
Md Zubair and the platform Alt News have been at the forefront of spreading deliberate fake news and misleading information, especially of a communally sensitive nature, on social media and also work as an Islamic propaganda channel under the garb of fact check.
On Saturday, May 13, the Congress’s party victory celebrations following the Karnataka Assembly Election results turned ugly when a 21-year-old Congress supporter allegedly hacked his 56-year-old BJP supporter uncle to death. The incident took place in D Hosahalli village near Hostake in the district of Bengaluru Rural.
There was an ongoing civil dispute between the deceased Krishnappa and his brother (Aditya’s father), Ganesh. Following Congress’s victory, Aditya and Ganesh joined Congress supporters to celebrate BJP’s defeat and burst firecrackers outside Krishnappa’s house.
When Krishnappa and his family objected to the group bursting crackers, Aditya allegedly attacked him with an axe. The victim died on the spot while his wife Gangamma and son Babu sustained injuries during the attack. Bengaluru district police personnel were deployed in the village to avoid any further altercations. Superintendent of Police Mallikarjuna Baldandi said in a statement that the police arrested Aditya, while his father Ganesh, among others involved in the incident, is still at large.
BJP supporters have demanded swift action in the matter and urged police to arrest the other accused at the earliest. On May 14, they took Krishnappa’s body to Nandagudi police station and staged a protest.
Some reports suggest both families were BJP supporters but Aditya and his father joined Congress victory celebrations outside Krishnappa’s house.

On Monday (May 15), former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan took to Twitter to allege a grand conspiracy to dismantle his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and put him behind bars for a period of 10 years.

Imran Khan alleged that a sinister plan was underway to outlaw his Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaaf in a manner similar to how the Awami League of Mujibur Rehaman was banned in East Pakistan.

Imran Khan launches scathing attack on Pakistan army
On Saturday (May 13), the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan launched an all-out attack on Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary, who is currently serving as the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The development comes days after ISPR, the media and PR wing of the Pakistan Army, accused Khan of hypocrisy and causing irreparable harm to the nation.
While addressing the public virtually from his residence in Lahore, the ex-PM of Pakistan remarked, “Listen to me Mr DG ISPR… you were not even born when I was representing my country in the world and earning a good name for it.”
“You need to be ashamed of yourself for calling me a hypocrite and anti-Army…You have jumped into politics. Why don’t you form your own party? Who has given you the right to make such frivolous allegations?” he asked.
Imran Khan added, “Have some shame for saying that no one else harmed the army to the extent that I did and that you will crush us.” He also accused the former Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Bajwa of betraying him.

He accused the ruling government of putting his party (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf) workers behind bars. The former Pakistani Prime Minister concluded, “Such actions have dire consequences. Although you (the Army) will not listen to me, I advise you to think big. You should see where the country is heading by such actions.”
On May 14, Muslim leaders from the Sunni Ulma Board demanded that a Muslim should get the post of deputy chief minister in Karnataka from the winning candidates of the community. They also demanded portfolios like Home, Revenue, Health and other departments for five Muslim MLAs. Karnataka State Waqf Board chief Shafi Sadi claimed 72 constituencies went into Congress’s hands only because of the Muslims. 15 Muslim candidates were fielded by Congress in the elections, out of which nine won.
He said, “We already said before the elections that the deputy chief minister should be a Muslim and that 30 seats be given to us. We got 15, and nine Muslim candidates won. In about 72 constituencies, Congress won purely because of the Muslims. We, as a community, have given a lot to the Congress. Now it’s time we get something in return. We want a Muslim deputy chief minister and five ministers with good portfolios like Home, Revenue, and Education. It’s the responsibility of Congress to thank us for this. We held an emergency meeting in the Sunni Ulma board office to ensure all these are implemented.”
Regarding which MLA should get a portfolio, he said that it is up to the Congress party to decide based on their work. Sadi pointed out that during canvassing, the Muslim candidates also went to other constituencies and ensured Muslim voters played a key role in Congress’s victory. He said, “Many Muslim candidates have also visited other constituencies and canvassed there, ensuring Hindu-Muslim unity, sometimes leaving their constituency behind. So they have a key role in the Congress’s victory. They have to have an ideal Deputy CM from the Muslim community. It is their responsibility.”
The demand was put before the elections. As the community leaders have put up their demands before the elections, Sadi demanded that they be fulfilled. He said, “We only ask for a Deputy CM to be the Muslim. Ideally, it should be a Muslim CM because Karnataka has never had one in its history, and 90 lakh people in the state are Muslims. We are the largest minority community apart from the SCs. We didn’t get the 30+ seats we wanted. But we at least want five Muslim ministers like during SM Krishna’s period and now a Deputy CM. That’s what we want.”

Interestingly, even before this resolution by the CLP, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge had said that the party’s high command will decide who will be the chief minister in Karnataka.
Initially, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge designated Sushilkumar Shinde, along with party leaders Jitendra Singh and Deepak Babaria, as observers for overseeing the election of the Congress Legislative Party leader in Karnataka.
Before the meeting, Kharge stated that the CLP would submit its report to the party’s high command, which will carefully consider and determine the next Chief Minister of Karnataka. Now, after a resounding victory, the party’s attention has shifted towards the selection of the next chief minister for the state, with two leading contenders, DK Shivakumar, and Siddaramaiah.
In the recent Karnataka Assembly elections, the Congress party secured a total of 135 out of 224 seats, resulting in the removal of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which obtained 66 seats, from power. Additionally, the Janata Dal (Secular) achieved victory on 19 seats.
Notably, both Shivakumar, who has been elected as an MLA for eight consecutive terms, and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah have openly expressed their aspirations to become the Chief Minister. In the past, they have engaged in a political rivalry, striving to outdo each other. Before the meeting, supporters of both Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah displayed posters advocating for their respective candidacies as the next Chief Minister of the state.
According to sources, the Congress party is even considering a plan to divide the Chief Minister’s tenure between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar. Under this potential arrangement, Siddaramaiah may assume the Chief Minister’s role for the initial 2.5 years, while DK Shivakumar would be entrusted with the responsibility for the subsequent 2.5 years.

On Saturday, 13th May 2023, unidentified Muslim youths misbehaved with two Muslim women and a Hindu man in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in Bhagat Singh Market, under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station.
The Muslim women were accompanied by their Hindu friend when a group of Muslim youths approached them. They misbehaved with the Hindu man and forcefully removed the veils worn by the Muslim women. The police have registered a case against the two unidentified youths and are actively searching for them.
The accused youths proceeded to inquire about the Muslim women’s fathers’ names. Initially, they forcibly stopped the two women and started interrogating them for walking with a Hindu man. The video capturing this misbehaviour has since become viral on various social media platforms.

Additionally, the video also captured the Muslim youths intimidating the Muslim girls by forcibly removing their veils. During the altercation, the young women clarified that the Hindu boy was their friend, to which the attackers responded with the question, “What kind of friend is he? Will you befriend Hindus?” In his defense, the Hindu boy informed the assailants that the two Muslim women were his colleagues but the aggressive assailants were not satisfied with that response. The video was recorded on Saturday.

Amit Rai, the CO of Kotwali police station, stated that the two Muslim women and the accompanying young man are adults, emphasizing their right to freely roam wherever they choose. The police have registered a case against the accused individuals and are trying to apprehend them.
A distressing incident involving love jihad and triple talaq has emerged from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. According to the victim in this case – a Hindu woman – she was deceived by the accused Raja Khan, who initially portrayed himself as a Hindu and developed a friendship with her. However, he later coerced her into marriage and subsequently subjected her and their children to physical abuse before expelling them from the home as he gave talaq to her. The victim claimed that Raja Khan has reportedly employed similar tactics to deceive numerous other girls in love jihad.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Rakabganj police station in Uttar Pradesh. According to the victim’s allegations, in 2017, she received a missed call from an unknown number. Upon returning the call, the accused individual identified himself as Raja and claimed to be a Hindu. Initially, the victim declined further communication, but the accused persistently called her. Over time, they developed a friendship. During this period, the accused, Raja Khan, invited the victim to his residence. It was during her visit and subsequent interaction with Raja’s family that she discovered his true religious identity.
Upon discovering the truth, the victim expressed her reluctance and declared her intention to terminate the relationship. However, Raja Khan vehemently disagreed and resorted to holding the victim hostage against her will. Disturbingly, he not only coerced her into a forced marriage by involving a cleric and having the Nikahnama (document of Islamic marriage) signed but also subjected her to physical abuse while she was confined to his residence.
While carrying out her household chores, the victim found evidence that indicated her husband, Raja Khan, had victimized numerous girls as part of his love jihad mission. When she confronted Raja Khan’s family about this disturbing matter, they subjected her to physical abuse.
To exacerbate the situation, Raja Khan gave her talaq and forcibly expelled her from the residence. Seeking justice, the victim initially lodged a complaint at the local Rakabganj police station. However, due to a lack of progress in the case, she sought relief in court. Subsequently, the court ordered the registration of an FIR (First Information Report) against the accused, and the police commenced an investigation into the matter.
This is the second case of love jihad that has been reported from Agra this month. In the first reported case of love jihad, a Hindu girl had come forward with allegations against her Muslim friend, Arman from Firozabad. According to the victim, when her mother discovered their friendship, she tried to persuade her daughter against it. This led to a confrontation, resulting in the young woman leaving her home. Subsequently, Arman married the young woman, converted to Islam, and began residing in a rented house. However, a few days later, the victim was raped by Arman’s friends. When she resisted, she faced physical abuse. Distressed by the situation, the girl reported the matter to the police on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
Search teams investigating Christian doomsday cult in Kenya have so far excavated 201 dead bodies from Shakahola forest close to the coastal town of Malindi in the country. The majority of the deceased were reportedly adherents of the preacher Paul Nthenge Mackenzie, the founder of the Good News International Church, according to the authorities.
The believers were told that they would reach heaven faster if they starved to death. Official autopsies carried out on some of the bodies in the enormous Shakahola farm located inside the forest found evidence of malnutrition, suffocation, and beatings. The findings were confirmed by chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor. However, most of the victims appeared to have died of starvation.
In a startling admission, Titus Katana, a peanut vendor who joined the Good News Church in 2015 and advanced to the position of deputy pastor, stated that children died first and were told to fast in the sun so they would pass away faster.
“The instructions featured a methodical plan for mass suicide through starvation. The first to perish were to be children, who were to fast in the sun so that they would die faster. In March and April, it would be the turn of women, followed by men,” the pastor revealed.
He further added, “They were shut in huts for five days without food or water. Then they wrapped them in blankets and buried them, even the ones still breathing.”
The former deputy pastor disclosed that by this time, he had severed his relationship with Pastor Paul Makenzie Nthenge and was not there when the suicide programme commenced but was informed of it by those who were still there. He alarmed the police that kids are dying in the forest.
Titus Katana also mentioned that the pastor preached against education and pronounced it evil after claiming to have had a ‘revelation from God.’ He is now helping with the investigation.
More than 610 people are still reported to be missing from villages around the forest, shared Rhoda Onyancha, the Coast Regional Commissioner. She proclaimed that 26 people, including the pastor and a gang of enforcers, had been arrested in connection with the killings. The gang was tasked with making sure that no one broke their fast or survived to leave the forest.
Ezekiel Odero, a renowned and wealthy televangelist, was granted bail at a court proceeding last week. He is being looked into on several counts, including murder, assisting suicide, kidnapping, radicalisation, crimes against humanity, child abuse, fraud, and money laundering. He is also thought to be connected to the pastor and the dead bodies in the forest.
In accordance with the court documents submitted on Monday, a few of the bodies even had their organs removed, raising suspicions that the perpetrators were involved in the forcible harvesting of body parts.
