On Monday (February 20), a video of a fight between an Australian and an Indian cricket fan went viral on social media.

A Twitter user ‘Count Down’ shared the video of the brawl, which took place in the stands of the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. He wrote, “What happened after IND Vs AUS Test match…Verbal fight between Indian and Australian Fans.”

In the video, the Australian fan could be heard telling the Indian fan to back off and stop pointing fingers at him. The latter was seen reacting aggressively and hurled the choicest of expletives.

“Chuti*a, behan ch*d dunga…f*ck your mother, maderc**d,” the Indian fan was also seen pointing both his middle fingers towards the disgruntled Australian fan.

The other Indian fans tried to pacify the situation and separated him from the Australian cricket fan. Meanwhile, chants of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ were raised by men in the crowd.

A Twitter user named Ajay Chawla, who was present at the stadium during the brawl, informed that the incident took place before lunch on Day 1 of the 2nd Test match between India and Australia.

“The video is from Delhi only. I was sitting 6 seats away. The visuals are from Day 1…” Chawla said. He further informed that the Indian fan was at fault as he bumped into the Australian fan after the fall of the wicket of Steve Smith.

“When the Aussie fan tried to move him away, he accidentally touched the Indian flag, which triggered the Indian guy,” he added.

Later, Ajay Chawla caught up with the Australian fan and his friend and learned that the duo was from Perth city of Australia. “Had an interesting conversation with the two of them…People even clicked pictures with the duo during the lunch break,” he added.

It must be mentioned that India clinched the 2nd Test Match against Australia by 6 wickets to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The team is up by 2-0 in the series. Opindia reached out to Ajay Chawla for a comment. The article will be updated once he responds to our query.

On the death anniversary of pro-Khalistani actor-turned-activist and founder of ‘Waris Punjab De’ Deep Sidhu, the current chief of the organization and Sikh leader Amritpal Singh issued a veiled threat to Home Minister Amit Shah. Singh visited Budhsingh Wala Village of district Moga in Punjab on February 19 where he insinuated that if HM Shah tried to suppress their voice, he would face a similar fate as Indira Gandhi.

Singh said, “Indira tried to suppress, what happened? Now Amit Shah can fulfill his wish and see”. Notably, HM Shah recently said in a statement that the Home Ministry is keeping an eye on the Khalistani supporters in Punjab. A media representative asked a question to Singh about HM Shah’s statement. In his reply, Singh claimed every child in Punjab talks about Khalistan.

“We are asking for our right, not someone else. For over 500 years, our forefathers have shed their blood on this land. So many people made sacrifices. We are claimants of this land. Nobody can snatch our claim. Neither Indira could remove it, nor could Modi or Amit Shah remove it. Let the armies from all over the world come. We will die, but we will not give up our claim,” he said.

Furthermore, Singh questioned HM Shah if he would take action against those who talk about Hindu Rashtra. He said, “Tell me, when did Prime Minister and Home Minister say they would take action against those who talk about Hindu Rashtra? There is a difference between the inspiration of Hindus and Sikhs. While Hindus can speak for themselves, Sikhs cannot.”

‘Frivolous appeal’ – SC imposes Rs 10,000 cost on Sanjiv Bhatt for challenging Gujarat HC order to finish trial quickly in a 22-year-old case

On February 20, the Supreme Court of India imposed costs of Rs 10,000 on former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt for challenging a Gujarat High Court order directing the trial court to complete a 22-year-old drug-planting case against Bhatt by March 31. A two-judge bench comprising Justice BR Gavai and Justice Aravind Kumar called Bhatt’s petition ‘absolutely frivolous’ while imposing the costs.

In the order, the Court said that the former IPS officer could have cooperated with the trial court for expeditious disposal of the case. The Court added it was up to the trial court if the extension could have been granted in the case or not.

The Court said, “The petitioner, rather than approaching this Court, ought to have cooperated with the trial court for expeditious disposal. The grant of an extension is a matter for the trial court. The petition is found to be absolutely frivolous, and costs of ₹10,000 are imposed.” Notably, Bhatt is currently in detention in relation to the drug-planting case.

Senior Advocate Devadutt Kamat, appearing for Bhatt, informed the Court that 16 out of 60 witnesses have been examined to date. He argued that if the trial had to be completed by March 31, the defense would not be able to present its argument. He further sought extensions in the case. Appearing for the State of Gujarat, Senior Advocate Maninder Singh informed the Court that Bhatt’s plea for extension in High Court was dismissed, and the accused suppressed that information. Kamat claimed the alleged suppression was not deliberate, but the apex court found it “difficult to believe”.

The Court said, “We do not find that there was any cause for the petitioners to approach this Court. Shri Kamat, though, submits that the non-revealing of the dismissed SLPs was not deliberate. It is difficult to believe such submission.”

Furthermore, the apex court rejected Sanjiv Bhatt’s plea seeking permission to produce additional evidence in the High Court. Bhatt wanted to submit additional evidence in a plea challenging conviction in the case related to custodial death. The final hearing, in that case, will soon begin in the High Court.

On February 19, Sunday, stray street dogs killed a 4-year-old boy in a housing society in Hyderabad, Telangana. As per reports, the boy was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead. CCTV footage of the incident has since gone viral on social media.

In the video, the boy can be seen playing in society when a pack of dogs attacked him. The boy made attempts to escape, but the dogs kept biting him. The boy fell on the street while the dogs tore his flesh. His father, Gangadhar, works as a security personnel at the housing complex where the incident occurred. When he heard the child’s screams, he rushed to the spot and rescued him from the dogs. He rushed his son to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

Reports suggest Gangadhar hails from Nizamabad. He shifted to Hyderabad with his family for work. Gangadhar was on duty on the day of the incident, and his son was playing in the compound. A case has been registered at the local police station, and an investigation is underway.

Street dog menace

This is not the first time stray dogs have killed or attacked a child. A few months back, an infant was killed by street dogs in a housing society. There have been several such reports where a pack of dogs attacks children, women, elders, and vulnerable members across the country. For over three years, Panj Tirath, a 1000-year-old Hindu heritage site in Peshawar, Pakistan has been embroiled in a legal battle. According to reports, the Hindu heritage site, which the Pakistan government had declared a National Heritage site in 2019, has been encroached upon and is being used as a warehouse in an amusement park.

According to reports, the Government in Peshawar leased the area to one Pakistan-based Chacha Younas Family Park company, which began using the structures as godowns. The heritage site, which consists of two temples and a gateway, is now in a dilapidated condition and requires archaeological conservation.

According to the archaeologists, the total area covered by the Panj Tirath is about 5 kanals (0.625 acres) and 11 marlas (0.06 acre). The amusement park, which uses the temples as warehouses, told the provincial government it was ready to give back one kanal (0.125 acres) and 11 marlas of the site, which is almost six times less.

It is said that whenever the archaeologists tried to access the site they were intimidated by armed men.

On February 10, the Peshawar High Court voiced its displeasure that the problem had not been resolved after more than three years and hinted at suspects of corruption among local officials.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Director of Archaeology Abdus Samad Khan told the court, “the park administration wanted to give only one kanal (0.125 acre) and 11 marlas to the archaeology department whereas our archaeology site consists of 5 kanals (0.625 acre) and 11 marlas (0.06 acre).”

The park administration did not allow officials to enter the temple through the park, the official said.

“We need more time to address other problems relating to the land demarcation between the park and archaeological site which also housed Panj Teerath mandir,” said the official of the Auqaf department.

Panj Tirath, a 1000-year-old revered Hindu pilgrimage site in Peshawar

Prior to 1947, Panj Tirath was an important Hindu pilgrimage place in Peshawar. Archaeologist SM Jaffar in his book ‘An Introduction to Peshawar’, published in 1952, stated, “the Panj-Tirath (five tanks) is among the places of interest and antiquity in or around Peshawar, dating back to the Buddhist times. Archaeologists believe Panj Tirath holds marks of the Buddha’s Begging Bowl.”

Pandu, the mythological king from the Hindu epic Mahabharata, is said to have lived in this area, and Hindus used to gather here for bathing during the month of Karteek (October 23 to November 21) and to pray for two days under the trees.

The site was damaged during the Afghan Durrani dynasty’s reign in 1747, but it was rebuilt by local Hindus during the Sikh rule in 1834, and worship started again.

The archaeology directorate has requested that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remove the site of encroachment and allow archaeologists to carry out much-needed preservation work. It has also requested that a perimeter wall be built around the land.

Hindu temples vandalized and destroyed by Islamists in Pakistan

Attacks on Hindu communities, their houses, businesses and even temples have been an unceasing issue in Pakistan. Apart from the forced abduction, rape, and marriage of Hindu girls, particularly minors, in Pakistan, Hindu sacred sites have been under persistent danger in the neighbouring country. As per reports, Pakistani human rights activist and spokeswoman for Justice for Minorities in Pakistan Anila Gulzar said that only 20 temples out of 428 are left in Sindh. 

As per a 2021 India Today report, out of 365 Hindu temples in Pakistan, only 13 are being managed by the Evacuee Trust Property Board board, leaving the responsibility of 65 to the persecuted and impoverished Hindu community, and abandoning the rest to the land mafias.

Vote-bank politics influence investigations in cattle smuggling cases in Rajasthan, says VHP; talks of a witchhunt against Bajrang Dal in Bhiwani case

On 17th February 2023, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) published a press release in which the organization said that vote-bank politics influences the investigations by Rajasthan police in cattle smuggling cases. VHP further said that the Bhiwani case is no exception. VHP has accused Rajasthan police of witch-hunt against Bajrang Dal in the Bhiwani case. The press statement contains remarks by VHP’s central joint general secretary Dr. Surendra Jain and it is issued by VHP’s spokesperson Vinod Bansal.

In the press statement, Dr. Surendra Jain said, “It is extremely unfortunate to find some charred skeletons in a burnt vehicle at Loharu, Haryana! Whether this fire took place accidentally or was set by someone, is yet to be investigated. The car belongs to Rajasthan but the identity of the skeletons is a matter of investigation. The culprits must be punished after a fair investigation of the case. This is our clear opinion.”

According to the press statement, he further said, “Two cow smugglers are missing from Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district, against whom many cases of cow smuggling are already going on. A smuggler’s brother has expressed doubts about some of the prominent names of Bajrang Dal. It seems that without a preliminary investigation, the Rajasthan Police has assumed that the names taken by the smuggler’s brother are responsible for the incident. Unfortunately, the name of Bajrang Dal is being taken unnecessarily in this incident. The role of the Rajasthan government in such cases has always been influenced by vote bank politics; it has been proved in many cases earlier also; it has been a matter of their political agenda. The name of Bajrang Dal being dragged unnecessarily into this matter cannot be considered fair in any way.”

The VHP’s press statement demands an apology from the Rajasthan government for unnecessarily naming Bajrang Dal in the case. It said in the statement, “Even the society there, which suffers from political bias, doesn’t expect justice from the Rajasthan government. Therefore, VHP demands that: 1. There should be a CBI inquiry into this matter. 2. Till the completion of the investigation, no person should be arrested merely on the basis that his name has been taken by the brother of the cow smuggler. 3. On completion of the investigation. the culprits should be severely punished. 4. The Rajasthan government, guilty of taking the name of Bajrang Dal unnecessarily, should apologize for this false allegation.”

In an interaction with OpIndia, VHP’s central joint general secretary Dr. Surendra Jain said, “In this whole area of Mewat, Hindu farmers have low land holding capacity, and therefore they cannot deploy machines in their farms. All they can use for agrarian work is livestock. Therefore cattle become more important to them. When the cow smugglers steal the cattle (cows, bulls, etc.), it breaks the backbone of the farmer. If a bull is lost, he can’t do farming. If a cow is lost, he cannot get a nutritious diet for his children and family members. Therefore, a farmer is not only emotionally pained by the cow-smuggling incidents, but these mishaps affect him in economic terms too.”

VHP office-bearer Dr. Surendra Jain further said, “This is not just an issue related to the farmers. It is a challenge before the entire state apparatus. Because the policemen cannot arrest the smugglers. No one dares to enter the villages where they live. If someone attempts to go there, he is beaten up. Some people tried in the past to go there, but their vehicles were set on fire. This happens in the entire Mewat region, from Rajasthan to Haryana. There are 100 villages without Hindus in the Mewat region in Haryana. No Hindu lives there. Almost 90 villages have less than 10 percent population. So it becomes 190 villages with more or less the same situation.”

Comparing the vigilance on cow smuggling in the border areas with that inside the country, Dr. Surendra Jain added, “The cow-smuggling incidents are well-controlled near border areas because the Border Security Force (BSF) has become very active now. It depends on political willpower. We have had the same armed forces, BSF, and police for the last so many years. But, it depends on willpower and the directives of the political forces. I believe that the BSF is strongly working under the current regime and has been successful in preventing cow-smuggling across the border.”

Dr. Surendra Jain said, “The cattle smugglers and the politicians backing them are annoyed by this vigilance under the current regime. Cow smugglers are not common people. They have the backing of a big political nexus. What happened in Rajasthan – you saw it. Two cow smugglers went missing. Two burnt bodies were found and it is to be ascertained by Central Forensic Laboratory or State Forensic Laboratory. There is no report ascertaining that the burnt bodies were of the two missing cow smugglers. There is no witness. Still, they have named Bajrang Dal members. When this FIR was written, they included the names of those who are involved in the cattle-saving activities. It was not at all considered important to check whether they were present there or not. I say with total responsibility that this FIR was written in a police station on the orders of the state government, and these names were included. A brother of a minister went there at that time. The most surprising thing is that these activists live in one area, and the FIR is written in some other police station.”

Dr. Surendra Jain said, “The meaning of this act is very clear. They chose a police station with an officer who can take action as directed by them, and who can bully the innocent. And he has done so. He killed the 9-month fetus of a pregnant woman. He is a killer. And he has done it at the behest of a politician. Therefore these people feel afraid when the community comes on the road for saving cows. And I emphasize this word – the entire community. It is not only the cow-savers, or Bajrang Dal, but the entire Hindu community wants to save cows. It is a sentiment in the entire country. Every common Hindu civilian is a Gau Rakshak.”

VHP’s spokesperson Vinod Bansal also alleged that the Rajasthan government is appeasing Muslims. He said, “We don’t believe the Rajasthan police’s investigation. We don’t trust the government in the state either. These people are engaged in tarnishing the Rajasthani tradition. An attempt is being made to stigmatize our organization even before the investigation. The investigation is deliberately being taken in the same direction. The compensation for the deceased (Junaid and Nasir) was already announced, i.e. the Rajasthan government declared that they are innocent.”

The Bhiwani case

On February 17, the Rajasthan Police reached Haryana to investigate the Bhiwani case in which the charred dead bodies of Junaid and Nasir were recovered by the Haryana Police. Junaid and Nasir were cattle smugglers and belonged to Bharatpur. The family members of the duo alleged that five Bajrang Dal members named Mohit Yadav, Shrikant Pandit, Rinku Saini, and two other Gau Rakshaks abducted Junaid and Nasir and later burnt them alive in Haryana.

Based on the complaint filed by family members of the dead smugglers, the Rajasthan police reached Haryana and began the investigation. It barged into the house of Shrikant Pandit and detained two of his younger brothers named Vishnu and Rahul. According to Shrikant’s family, around 30-40 Rajasthan Police officers entered their house at 3:30 am and assaulted the alleged accused’s mother and his wife. VHP has now released a statement in which it has accused the Rajasthan police of a biased approach against the activists of Bajrang Dal and VHP.

BMC invites bids for removal of illegal cycle track from Powai lake, 10-km track opposed by environmentalists was pet project of Aaditya Thackeray

On Tuesday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation issued a tender notice confirming the removal of illegal cycle tracks and other existing work from the banks of Powai Lake and the restoration of the said area to its original position in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The 10 km long cycle track project made using the latest ‘Gabion technology’ was undertaken by the BMC during the reigns of the MVA government headed by CM Uddhav Thackeray. The project had massive support from the then Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray, as it was his pet project.

The news was confirmed by Maharashtra BJP leader Nitesh Rane who said that taxpayers hard earned money (Rs 66 lakhs) was used by the MVA government to execute this ‘childish act’. “The illegal cycle track built on the banks of Powai lake is going to be removed. Aditya Thackray should pay back Rs 66 lakhs which is taxpayers’ money. Baap ki Mumbai nahi hai..Yaad rakna,” he tweeted.

This is nine months after the Bombay High Court held that work on the cycling track around Powai Lake was illegal and directed the civic body to immediately remove all constructions carried out so far and restore the reclaimed portions. On May 6, 2022, the Bombay High Court said that the construction of the cycling and jogging track around the lake violated the Wetlands (Conservation and Management) Rules.

The division bench of chief justice Dipankar Datta and justice VG Bisht was hearing the public interest litigations (PILs) filed by IIT students Omkar Supekar and Abhishek Tripathi through advocate Rajmani Varma and NGO Vanashakti on April 25, challenging the construction of the track.

The petitioners had argued that building the 10-km cycling route would negatively affect the lake’s indigenous Indian marsh crocodiles’ ability to maintain their natural environment. Through attorney Manoj Shirsat, activist Zoru Bathena had also submitted an intervention application, arguing that there was no need for a separate bicycle path because the IITians already used a six-kilometer route that runs beside the lake. Activists, environmentalists, and locals all disagreed with the plan.

The IITians further complained that the track would disturb the lake’s natural flora and animals and ruin the wetland’s ecology. The petitioners said that the Supreme Court had issued a ruling in 2009 emphasizing the protection of wetlands, and they were asking for the BMC to follow that ruling. Furthermore, the PIL requested documentation proving the lake had been declared unnoticeable, allowing the reclamation of the environmentally vulnerable Powai wetland.

The Powai Lake, located in Mumbai’s eastern suburbs, is regarded as a wetland. It was built in 1891. Its water is utilized for industrial purposes only because it was deemed unsuitable for human consumption. According to the Central Institute of Fisheries Education, the lake has a catchment area of 6.61 square kilometers and a water spread area of 210 hectares. As part of its ambition to establish bicycle tracks across the city, the BMC had suggested constructing a 10-km track around Powai Lake in 2021. The then-state Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray also extended support to this proposal.

Several locals and environmentalists had been opposing the project since the beginning. They said that the project would cause harm to the natural habitat of the crocodiles residing in the lake. In November 2021, around 670 people including green activists and environmentalists signed a letter seeking the scraping of the cycle track through Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Powai lake, and around Virar lake. The letter was then sent to the then CM Uddhav Thackeray’s office but it was not acknowledged. The environmentalists also did not receive any response from the CM’s office regarding the issue.

Notably, several environmentalists staged a protest demanding the protection of the lake and the removal of the illegal cycle track project.

The Aam Aadmi Party had also staged a protest calling Aaditya Thackeray childish. The AAP workers said that Thackeray wanted to convert the city into his playground. ‘When he wants penguins, he gets penguins, when he wants a zoo in the middle of Aarey, he gets and zoo, and now, he wants a cycle track around the fragile area between Powai and Virar lakes. Mumbai is not Thackeray’s private ground for experiments,” Sumitra Shrivastava, AAP Mumbai working president had said then.

However, the BMC has recently issued a tender notice confirming the removal of illegal cycle tracks and other existing work from the banks of Powai Lake and the restoration of the said area to its original position in Mumbai.

Rajkot Police on Monday made drunk baraatis, men who were part of wedding procession, dance and recreate their drinking game as they detained them and file a case against them. The videos of policemen apprehending them and making them recreate the scenes have gone viral.

The videos were shared by Gujarat Tak, a Gujarati news portal of India Today group. In the first video, the police official is asking one drunk man whom was he offering the alcohol? He points out the person and then the police official asks him to recreate the scene how he was offering him the alcohol. In the background, another man is just dancing. The police official then asks whom did he offer the alcohol next and the drunk man then pointed another person in the group. They again recreated the scene while dancing.

In second video, the police official asks the accused whether they were dancing also in drunken state and then asked them to recreate the dancing scene.

Alcohol sale and consumption is prohibited in Gujarat.

Earlier it was reported that in a wedding procession, one gangster and his friends were found drinking alcohol and dancing. In the viral video, it was also seen the gangsters offering a gun to the groom. The police had started investigation in that matter. The men could be heard dancing to ‘pi le pi le o mere raja’ from the film ‘Tiranga’.

It is not yet clear whether the men arrested by Rajkot Police were part of this wedding.

In a tweet, the Chief Minister’s Office informed, “Our Govt is committed to working for the greatest common good of the society. In the 3rd meeting held with Truck Operators today, we have been successful in resolving the issues & ending the 67-day long dispute.”

The development comes despite Rahul Gandhi hurling abuses, spreading falsehoods and accusing the Adani Group of crony capitalism. As such, it comes as no wonder why the Congress scion has remained silent about the party pacifying its relations with Gautam Adani.

The Background of the Controversy

On Monday (February 20), the 67-day standoff in Himachal Pradesh between Adani Group-owned cement plants and truck unions ended after the two sides agreed on new freight rates.

The Adani-owned cement plants in Barmana and Darlaghat of Himachal Pradesh had been closed since December 15 as the truckers protested against Adani Cement lowering the transportation rates to ₹6 per tonne per km (PTPK).

Reportedly, the market rate is ₹10.58 PTPK in Dalarghat and ₹11.41 PTPK in Barmana. Both the cement companies and the truck operators have now settled upon ₹10.3 PTPK for single-axle trucks and ₹9.3 PTPK for multi-axle vehicles.

The stalemate ended following a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, with both sides deciding to resume operations on Tuesday (February 21).

The government had earlier said that it was incurring a daily loss of over ₹1 crore in taxes due to the closure of the plants. The Adani Group completed the $6.5 billion acquisition of Ambuja Cements and ACC in September 2022.

Days after Congress came to power, the plants closed down over the freight dispute. The reopening of the Barmana and Darlaghat plants is expected to help in the economic, social, and overall development of the state.

The Adani group was forced to issue a media statement in a bid to nullify the unsubstantiated claims of the grand-old party. In June 2022, Rahul Gandhi amplified fake news published by the Leftist propaganda outlet, The Wire, which suggested that PM Modi influenced a deal in Sri Lanka at the behest of the Adani group.

Even though the Sri Lankan president rejected any such collusion or favour for any specific company, Rahul Gandhi seemed upset that an Indian company won a bid for a project in Sri Lanka.

Again in April 2022, the Congress IT cell Head Saral Patel tweeted fake news about ‘Adani Apples’ and alleged that they were dominating the market over the produce of local farmers. On being called out on social media, he quietly deleted his tweet without citing any apology or word of regret.

Interestingly, the Congress scion, who had been accusing the Modi government of being hands-in-gloves with the industrialists of the country, has never explained why the Congress-ruled Rajasthan government announced ₹65000 crores worth of investment from the Adani group in Rajasthan.

Delhi: Newborn child declared dead by Delhi govt-run hospital, handed over to family in a surgical glove box

On Sunday (February 19), a family accused the Delhi government-run Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP) of gross medical negligence and prematurely declaring their newborn dead.

They also alleged that the hospital authorities handed the baby over to them in a surgical glove box. As per reports, a 7-month-pregnant woman named Rukhsar was admitted to the LNJP hospital on Friday (February 17).

When she delivered a premature baby on Sunday, the doctors allegedly declared the premature baby ‘dead’ and handed over the body (wrapped in a sheet) in a surgical glove box.

It was only after a few hours that the family, which hails from the Mustafabad area of Northeast Delhi, discovered that the baby was still alive. A video of them ‘unboxing’ the child has now gone viral on social media.

Reportedly, the family was also not provided with any papers. While speaking about the matter, the brother-in-law of Rukhsar claimed, “My brother Abdul brought the baby home and we were preparing for the funeral.”

He added, “However when we opened the box, we noticed some movements in the infant’s hands and feet. We rushed to the hospital, but there was no one to address us. The guards were rude, the doctors refused, we couldn’t even meet and inform the mother that the child was alive.”

LNJP hospital initiates probe into the matter

The family immediately rushed to the hospital to inform the doctors but was instead met with uncooperative hospital staff, as per reports. They were also unable to meet and inform the mother that the child was alive.

After they informed the police, the doctors at LNJP hospital eventually agreed to admit the baby. However, the hospital denied the family’s claims and stated that it was a case of an aborted foetus.

The medical director of Lok Nayak Hospital, Dr Suresh Kumar, stated that the baby weighed only 490 gm and was born in a 23-week-old condition. He added, “When the matter was brought to light, the child was again admitted to NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). The baby is currently on life support and alive.”

Dr Kumar further stated that the hospital has initiated a detailed inquiry into the incident. He added that the authorities are taking the best measures for the newborn baby’s care. Reportedly, the family members of Ruksar have not filed any complaint against the hospital or doctors.
