Haryana police SPO, injured during stone pelting at Nuh, talks about how the violence started against the Hindu religious procession, what the Muslim mob did

On the 31st of July, a Muslim mob unleashed violence against thousands of Hindu devotees who were participating in the VHP Shobha Yatra in Nuh, Mewat. The Yatra has been taking place for the past 4 years. The procession is a “Jalabhishek Yatra” on Shravan Somvar (auspicious Monday in the month of Shravan). It is pertinent to note that Mewat, Haryana, is often referred to as mini-Pakistan because of the rampant Islamisation of the area, crimes of cow smuggling, forceful conversions, rapes, murders and more.

As the religious procession came under attack in Nuh, Haryana, Hindu devotees have revealed to OpIndia and several other platforms that stones were pelted at them from the rooftops, young Muslim boys and men had taken to the mountainous area and were shooting at them from the peaks, acid bottles were thrown at them and several women were harassed. During the violence, several women and children (ranging anywhere between 2000-2500) had taken shelter at the Temple and were rescued only hours later by the police.

Further, there were others who were brutally murdered in cold blood by the Muslim mob too. OpIndia in its report revealed how one Hindu devotee, Abhishek, was first shot by the Islamists, then, his throat was slit and if that was not enough, the enraged Muslim mob then proceeded to crush his head with a large stone.

A Haryana Police SPO, who was injured during the Nuh violence, has now revealed how the violence started and who was responsible for it.

The SPO was seen on video with his head bandaged after he was injured during the stone pelting by Islamists at Nuh. Talking to Haryana Tak, the SPO says that he was injured when the stone pelting started at Tiranga chowk. He says that the Yatra of the Hindu devotees was going on normally and without incident. As soon as the crowd of Hindus swelled, stone pelting started.

On being asked who started the stone pelting, he says that while the Hindu devotees were walking, the Muslim mob started coming out and started taking out a rally of sorts. That is when the stone pelting started. He says he was hurt at about 4:30 when the Hindus started going back from Nuh after coming under attack.

The very fact that he says that the Shobha Yatra was proceeding normally before the Muslim mob started to congregate to counter the Hindus is proof to substantiate how the violence started. He mentions specifically that as soon as the crowd swelled, the stone pelting started saying that it was the Muslim mob that started coming out on the streets to counter the Hindu religious procession.

It is pertinent to note that OpIndia conducted an investigation where it was revealed that Islamists were planning this violence for at least 2 days before the Nuh procession. The Chief Minister of Haryana, ML Khattar, has also confirmed that the violence was indeed pre-planned and seems like the part of a larger conspiracy.

Pollsters survey shows the majority of respondents thought the Centre had done its part to bring the Manipur situation under control

0

Even as the opposition parties and pliant ‘journalists’ had been trying to push a narrative that the Centre has not done much to contain the crisis in Manipur, a new survey showed that the majority of the respondents believe that the Indian government has done its part to bring normalcy in the strife-torn state.

The opposition moved a No-confidence motion that will be debated on the 10th of August and PM Modi will address the house on the 12th of August on Manipur and a host of other issues. Amid all of this, Pollsters India, a prominent public opinion tracking company, conducted a survey on the situation in Manipur, revealing significantly contrasting results that highlight a noticeable disparity between perception and reality.

The agency conducted the survey between 22 and 27 July. The survey covered 9,679 adult respondents across 22 states and UTS. While 50 per cent of the respondents replied that the state government could have done more to contain the situation, 57 per cent of the respondents said the centre did its bit to bring the Manipur situation under control.

The survey results come in the wake of opposition MPs’ Manipur visit, through which, they have been blaming the central government for the worsening situation of the state.

The key findings of the survey

The Pollsters India survey found that an overwhelming majority look at Manipur more as an ethnic conflict and less as a law and order problem. According to the survey findings around 55% of the respondent looked at it as an ethnic conflict, and around 29% termed it as a law & order issue.

The majority of the respondents said that the state government could have done better to handle the situation, however, they added that the central government has a little role and they did their bit to control the problem in the state.

Pollsters India also analysed the issue on the basis of party preferences and found that even the majority of the neutral political respondents (not aligned with either BJP or Congress+) largely support the BJP on this issue.

According to the agency, INC has not been able to make much impact, despite its strong attack against the Centre. Evidently, the survey found that only 36% of the Congress party’s support base looked at it as a law and order issue while 40% of them termed it as an ethnic issue.

The spate of violence in Manipur began in early May and the survey asked the respondents about the primary reason for the violence.

According to the survey, 55% of the respondents saw this as an ethnic conflict between the Meities and Kukis while 29% saw it as a law-and-order problem. 16% of the respondents did not have a clear view of the matter.

Further, the Pollsters India survey found that the Opposition’s attack against the central government had a limited impact as the majority of the respondent perceived it as a state government mishandling.

About half the respondents said that the state government has not done enough to control the situation in the state. While 34% of the respondents stated that they were satisfied with the way in which the state government handled the situation.

However, about 57% of the respondents believe that the Union Government has done enough to control the situation. Only 1/4th, 25% of the respondents believe that the central government could have done more. Whereas 18% of the respondents said that they don’t have a clear view of the matter.

The survey also found that even on the basis of party lines, the majority of the respondents (BJP, Congress+, and even neutral respondents) support the Centre on this issue.

According to the survey, 70% of the BJP supporters looked at Manipur as an ethnic conflict while those who support the Congress (and its allies) are divided on the issue. 40% of the Congress+ supporters believe that Manipur is in the middle of an ethnic conflict while 36% see this as a law and order problem.

Meanwhile, the survey found that Political neutrals — respondents who claimed that they don’t see themselves as supporters of any political party — leaned more towards the BJP on this issue.

According to the Pollsters India survey findings, 51% of “political neutrals’ believe that Manipur is an ethnic conflict and 31% of the respondents believe it is a law and order problem. 44% of those who support other parties, which haven’t joined the Congress-led alliance, believe it is an ethnic conflict against 41%  who say it is a law and order problem.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah to soon lay foundation stone for the permanent stationing of Rapid Action Force in Mewat: Report

In the wake of Islamist violence against Hindu processions in Mewat’s Nuh region, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has given assurance to Gurugram Member of Parliament and Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh regarding the establishment of a special and permanent camp for the Rapid Action Force (RAF) in the communally sensitive Muslim-majority district of Mewat in Haryana, a report published in Firstpost said.

The region has been grappling with Hindu-Muslim riots, and Singh has been continuously advocating for the camp. Recently, an Islamist mob attacked the Jalabhishek Yatra at the Nuh intersection, triggering clashes and violence.

Singh had initially proposed the idea of setting up an RAF camp in Mewat in 2014, following similar Hindu-Muslim clashes in Mewat’s Tauru. He had approached the then Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who gave his approval in principle, and Indri village was identified as the site for the camp.

However, despite delays and unresolved issues, Amit Shah has now taken personal responsibility for the matter and assured that he will promptly lay the foundation stone for the camp without any further delays.

Mewat Shobha Yatra attack

On Monday, violence broke out in Haryana’s Nuh district during the ‘Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra,’ which was organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. The death toll from the clashes has now reached 5, including two personnel from the Haryana home guard. The deputy commissioner urged people to stay indoors, venture outside only for essential tasks, and disregard any circulating rumours.

Vehicles were burnt and stones pelted at the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Jalabhishek Yatra as clashes erupted between two communities in the Muslim-majority region of Mewat in Haryana.

“Religious Brajmandal Yatra” organized annually by Bajrang Dal, Islamic Jihadis pelted heavy stones, violence, arson and direct bullets from the hills on the pilgrims on the ancient “Religious Yatra” of Nallahad Shiv Temple, the centre of faith and reverence of Hindus in Nuh, Mewat. In which hundreds of vehicles were damaged and burnt to ashes,” said a statement shared by Bajrang Dal on Twitter.

On 31st July, two home guards lost their lives, and over 60 people, including devotees and police personnel, were injured in anti-Hindu violence at Nuh in Mewat, Haryana. Over 30 vehicles that were part of the Jalabhishek Yatra on Shravan Somvar were damaged by the violent mob of Islamists.

The Haryana administration has imposed Section 144 in Nuh, Gurugram, Revadi and Faridabad to maintain law and order. Furthermore, schools and colleges have been shut down. The state government also suspended internet services to stop the spread of rumours and misleading reports. The security agencies rescued Hindus and brought them to Nuh Police Line. The rescued Hindu devotees alleged conspiracy to attack the procession began at least six months ago.

Speaking to ABP news, activists of Hindu organisations who were rescued from Nalhad Shiv Mandir narrated what had happened during the violence. One of the devotees, dressed like a saint, said, “The first bus carrying Hindus that returned after doing Jalabhishek was burnt just one KM away from the temple. After that, 14-15 more vehicles were burnt to ashes.”

He further said after the incident, when some Hindu activists rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation, their vehicles were also attacked and burnt down. Calling the rioters terrorists, he said AK-47 was used to fire at the devotees. One other victim of the violence said, “Mountains from three sides surround Ancient Shiv Temple. They [attackers] were shooting at us from those three sides.”

When the Police reached the spot, they returned fire at the attackers. However, the attackers were well prepared and kept shooting at the police for around one hour. Hindus said during the attack, around 6,000 to 7,000 devotees were stuck inside the temple. Around 25,000 people participated in the Brijmandal Yatra. It took the police seven hours to rescue the victims from the temple.

Another victim said, “14-year-olds were using weapons. They planned the attack for over six months.” The victims said the bullets brushed several injured people’s stomachs, legs and thighs.

Nuh violence: CCTV footage shows Islamist mob targeted Cyber Police Station in Nuh with a hijacked bus, allegedly to erase criminal record

On the 31st of July, a Muslim mob attacked a Jalabhishek Yatra during Shravan Somvar in Haryana’s Nuh. The Islamic mob fired bullets, pelted stones, and burnt vehicles and buildings in which four people including two home guards lost their lives and at least 30 people have been severely injured in the Mewat Shobha Yatra Attack.

Now, the CCTV footage of the Cyber Police station in Nuh has come out to the fore which indicates that the communal attack was allegedly utilised for wiping the cybercrime history from the police records. In the video, a bus can be seen entering the police station at the same time when the Muslim mob is seen pelting stones at a building.

According to a report in NDTV, the mob forcibly took over a public bus and rammed it into the boundary wall of the Cyber Police Station on the day when Nuh anti-Hindu violence erupted. Subsequently, the mob then entered the police station and launched a targeted attack on the main building of the Cyber Police station.

They ransacked and vandalised everything in sight seemingly in a bid to destroy crucial evidence in several cases registered recently. It is alleged that the mob attempted to burn documents inside the police station and allegedly set the station on fire.

In the CCTV footage, it can also be seen that the mob also targeted the vehicles parked inside the police station. The visuals show that around 15 to 20 cars, of both police and civilians, have been damaged or burnt.

The targeted attack at the Cyber Police station in Nuh was seemingly a bid to destroy evidence in several cases registered by the police recently. For those unversed, there has been a rampant rise in cyber fraud in Nuh and it has been notorious as a hub for cyber crimes.

The Cyber Police station in Nuh was set up in the wake of rising incidences of cyber fraud and it was set up just two years ago.

The recent crackdown on cybercriminals in Nuh

In May 2023, Haryana Police busted a cybercrime racket in Nuh which had duped more than 28,000 individuals across India to mint Rs Rs 100 crore.

Back then, Nuh Superintendent of Police (SP) Varun Singla said, “The cybercriminals had defrauded around 28,000 people from 35 states and union territories to the tune of more than Rs 100 crore. They used to deposit money in fake bank accounts to avoid suspicion.”

Similarly, the police raided 320 locations in 14 villages in Nuh and arrested 66 suspected fraudsters in April, this year.

Singla said that 1,346 cases were filed against these cybercriminals across the country. During these raids, the police recovered several fake documents including fake Ids – Pan and Aadhar cards along with electronic gadgets.

According to reports, in terms of the number of cybercrimes recorded in the last three years, Haryana’s Nuh is only third after Rajasthan’s Bharatpur and UP’s Mathura.

NIA attaches one of PFI’s largest arms and physical training centre in Kerala

0

As “proceeds of terrorism,” the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached one of the Popular Front of India’s (PFI) largest and oldest Arms and Physical Training Centres in accordance with the strict Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

It is the sixth PFI Arms Training Centre and the 18th entirety of real estate connected to the outlawed group that the NIA has attached in Kerala as part of its continuous efforts to combat terrorism.

The training centre named the Green Valley Academy is spread across a vast 10-hectare area in Kerala’a Manjeri and was looked after by the ‘Green Valley Foundation’ (GVF).

According to the reports, the area was initially used by the National Development Front’s cadres and subsequently by the PFI with which it merged.

NIA probe exposed that the PFI used the area for conducting arms training, physical training, and training sessions on the use and testing of explosives for its cadres. The PFI trained the cadres here who were associated with its ‘Service Wing’.

The investigation also cleared that many of the PFI service wing members hid at this location after committing henious crimes including murder. The cadres here were also trained with radical ideologies and were taught to promote the outfit’s communal agenda and politics.

The premise under the disguise of educational institutions housed several PFI frontal organizations. The NIA had already pursued legal action against five additional PFI training facilities in Kerala, namely Malabar House, Periyar Valley, Valluvanad House, Karunya Charitable Trust, and Trivandrum Education and Service Trust (TEST).

There are also an extra 12 offices attached, which are occasionally used by the leadership of the group to organise various criminal and terrorist acts, organise weapons and physical training, and spread ideology.

The PFI’s modus operandi, which entails running such training centres under the pretence of charity and educational trusts created by members or leaders of the organisation, has been revealed by the NIA’s investigations.

On March 17, 2023, the NIA filed a chargesheet in which it accused 59 people, including the PFI as a whole.

’15-year-olds sat on their knees and fired at us, they wanted to trap us for the night and finish us’: Hindu devotee narrates the ordeal of Islamist attack in Nuh

In the aftermath of the Islamist attack on Hindu devotees and Shobha Yatra in Mewat’s Nuh region, shocking details have emerged pointing to the pre-planned nature of the attack and the readiness of the mob to trap and kill Hindus.

OpIndia spoke to a VHP member and one of the victims of the violence, who shared stark details of how Islamists had planned to trap Hindus and finish them off in the dead of night.

“The attack on us was preplanned. They (Islamists) were waiting for Hindus to reach the temple. As soon as most Hindus had reached the spot and began proceeding towards the temple, they started attacking the remaining ones who were beginning to march towards Ferozepur Jhirka,” one of the eyewitnesses of the attack narrated.

“During that time, we received a call that Islamists had started attacking the devotees. When we reached the spot, the vehicle we had travelled in was under attack, with shots fired at its glasses and stones pelted at it. We saw our Hindu brothers lying on the road injured. Just then, a mob of 50-60 assailants from a narrow alleyway across the road started pelting stones at us,” the Hindu devotee said.

The stone pelting was followed by intense rounds of firing, the Hindu devotee said, asserting that more than 200-250 rounds were fired at them by the Islamists in Nuh.

“The attackers had walls of houses to hide, but we were all scrambling for our dear lives in the open ground. We were sitting ducks for them as they fired rounds after rounds of bullets at us. I saw many among us getting injured in the violent onslaught, some being tied to vehicles and burnt alive,” he added.

The eyewitness stated that there were no police officials to protect them, and the Hindus were left to fend for themselves. He said from 1 pm to 6 pm, Hindus warded off the relentless attack by the Islamists.

“We are unarmed while the other side was armed to the teeth. They were continuously firing at us. Over 200 armed men came out from the nearby mosque, raining bullets at us. We were somehow trying to protect our vehicles so that we could safely return to our homes, but when we stepped back in the face of relentless firing, they torched our vehicles, buses, and other cars present on the road,” he explained, giving a first-hand account of the violence that triggered unrest in Haryana’s Nuh.

He also added that the assailants had attacked Hindus while they were in the temple. The Islamists had surrounded the temple from neighbouring hilltops and started firing at the Hindus, the Hindu devotee said. “Their entire plan was to somehow trap Hindus in the temple for the night and finish them off.”

When asked if he thinks the attack was preplanned, the Hindu devotee replied, “It was indeed preplanned. From their preparations, it did not appear like the spur-of-the-moment eruption of violence but a carefully planned, well-thought-out conspiracy to trap Hindus and kill them. 15-year-old boys were sitting on their knees and firing at us.”

Mewat Shobha Yatra attack

Nuh violence: Abhishek was first shot at, then his throat was slit and his face crushed with stones; eyewitnesses say the mob also chased Hindu women

On Monday, July 31, 2023, Hindus were attacked in the Nuh area of Haryana while taking out a Jal Abhishek yatra. In this attack, 2 home guards including sweet seller Shakti Saini have been killed. Also, a Bajrang Dal activist named Abhishek Rajput was shot dead. After that, his throat was slit with a sharp weapon and his head was crushed with stones, the extent of brutality which is normally associated with terror outfits like the Taliban.

OpIndia spoke to Bharat Bhushan, who lives in the Hathin area of Mewat. On July 31, the day of the incident, Abhishek had come from Panipat to offer water to the Nalhad temple, he said. During this time, he was attacked by a Muslim mob. According to Bharat Bhushan, the rioters first shot Abhishek and later slit his throat. He said that Abhishek’s family has come to Nuh to collect the body.

OpIndia called up and spoke to Bajrang Dal’s Panipat district convenor Bobby to get more information about the Abhishek murder case. Bobby told us that around 100 people, including him and Abhishek, had gone to the Nalhad temple in Nuh in a bus and some vehicles. Shortly after offering prayers at the temple, they were suddenly attacked by a mob of about 250 Muslims.

Bobby claims that his convoy was accompanied by a Haryana Police DSP along with some constables, who just fired a round or two in the air and were done with that. Describing himself as an eyewitness to the incident, Bobby further said that Hindu organisations protected the policemen and stood by them.

During this time, when the violent mob of Muslims moved towards women, Hindu organisations first decided to protect them. When the women were being sent back to the temple, firing started from the Muslim side. Abhishek Rajput, a resident of Noorwala area of Panipat, was shot in the waist and fell there. According to Bobby, the man accompanying Abhishek tried to lift him up but he was already unconscious.

Bobby also claimed that when some people took the women to safer places, a mob of Muslims reached near the Bajrang Dal activists. According to Bobby, Abhishek Rajput could not defend himself due to being badly injured. It is alleged that the attackers in the crowd first slit Abhishek’s throat in a Talibani style and later smashed his head with stones. Abhishek died on the spot.

Bobby said that Abhishek was the block convenor of Bajrang Dal and he came from a poor family of Panipat. He used to work as a car mechanic to earn a living for the house. Abhishek has another brother, who works in a factory. The father of the deceased also worked hard to raise the children.

Notably, it has been revealed about Nuh violence that its preparations were being done for 6 months. During the attack, AK-47 was fired on the people surrounding in the temple premises. A 14-year-old boy was also shooting.

Punjab: NIA raids UK-based controversial NGO Khalsa Aid’s Indian premises in Patiala

0

On Tuesday, August 1, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided two premises linked to UK-based controversial NGO Khalsa Aid’s India chapter. The raids started simultaneously at Rishi Colony and a house at Shera Wala Gate in Patiala, Punjab, at around 6 AM and continued until the afternoon.

Furthermore, NIA conducted other raids in Amritsar, Mohali and Muktsar districts. Notably, the Mohali raid was at the house of Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) terrorist Paramjit Singh Pamma located in Phase 3B2. At Pamma’s house, NIA reached at 6 AM and remained there till 10:30 AM. They questioned his parents during the raid.

Pamma is one of the most wanted on NIA’s list for his involvement in various terrorist activities, including the murder of Rashtriya Sikh Sangat (RSS affiliate organisation) president Rulda Singh. He was shot dead in Patiala in August 2009.

A Khalsa Aid representative said the reason behind the raid was unclear. NIA only questioned Amarpreet Singh and his family members. Though Patiala Police accompanied NIA officials, they were not part of the questioning.

In a statement, Amarpreet Singh said he answered all the questions asked by NIA officials. He has been summoned to visit the NIA office in Delhi on 3rd August. Amarpreet Singh said NIA asked him if Khalsa Aid was involved in anti-national activities.

They asked about the funding and volunteers. NIA has asked for documents related to Khalsa Aid that Singh must take to the NIA office. They seized Singh’s phone and some documents related to Khalsa Aid. He claimed such actions by agencies would lower the morale of Khalsa Aid members indulged in volunteer work.

NIA’s investigation against Khalsa AID

During farmer protests in 2021, Khalsa Aid came under NIA’s radar for its involvement in some “volunteer service” at the protest sites after NIA registered a case against Sikhs for Justice under UAPA. It was alleged SFJ was pumping funds into farmer protests via NGOs to propagate its so-called Referendum 2020 for a separate Sikh state. While the protests against the now-repealed three farm laws were happening at the Delhi border, NIA summoned Khalsa Aid representatives and others, including leaders of farmer unions, farmers, activities, and journalists from Punjab and Haryana. However, their appearance was put on hold due to the ongoing protests.

Khalsa Aid’s chief Ravi Singh is a staunch Khalistan supporter and has repeatedly spoken against the PM Modi-led government of India.
