The Kerala Story declared tax-free in Madhya Pradesh: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan says the movie exposes the horrific face of love jihad

The Kerala Story, starring Adah Sharma in the lead role and written and directed by Sudipto Sen, was released in cinemas on May 5 amidst multiple controversies.

In the latest news, the movie has been declared tax-free in Madhya Pradesh by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who emphasised that everyone should watch it because it exposes the conspiracy of love jihad, conversion and terrorism.

“The film The Kerala Story exposes the conspiracy of love jihad, conversion and terrorism and brings out its ugly face. This film tells how the daughters who get entangled in the web of love jihad due to sentimentality are destroyed. This film also exposes the design of terrorism and makes us aware of terror activities,” stated the BJP stalwart.

“In Madhya Pradesh, we have already enacted a law against religious conversion. Everyone should watch this film, parents should also watch it, children should also watch it, daughters should also watch it and therefore Madhya Pradesh government is making this film tax-free,” he added.

Earlier, the CM was urged by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Hindu organisations to exclude The Kerala Story from taxation in the aforementioned state.

The multilingual project, featuring Adah Sharma and written and directed by Sudipto Sen, has garnered a lot of attention since the makers released its trailer. Liberals and the opposition particularly the Left and the Congress have labelled it as a propaganda piece and demanded a ban on its screening.

Despite all the objections, it has already raked in between Rs 7.50-8 crore on the first day making it the fifth-highest opening for a Hindi film in 2023.

The movie’s story revolves around Shalini Unnikrishnan, played by Adah Sharma, an innocent Hindu woman from Kerala, who is brainwashed by her Muslim friends and gets converted to Islam and marries a Muslim. She later travels to ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) also known as IS (Islamic State) controlled area with her spouse.

Charles III set to be crowned King of the UK in the presence of more than 2000 guests at Westminster Abbey in London

On 6th May 2023, Charles III will be crowned as the new King of the United Kingdom. He ascends to the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8th, 2022, after a reign of more than 69 years. The territories held by the British monarchy include the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Jamaica among several other countries and territories worldwide. King Charles III will rule over these territories as the new monarch.

King Charles, born on November 14, 1948, is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. As the United Kingdom makes final preparations for the coronation ceremony, the world’s attention is drawn to the royal family, which has recently undergone significant changes. The changes include the decision of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to step down as senior royals, as well as the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, who was the country’s longest-reigning monarch.

King Charles III is married to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, his second wife, who will be by his side throughout his reign. He also has two sons, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Prince Harry.

The coronation ceremony is a time-honoured tradition steeped in history, and it will be attended by over 2000 guests, including heads of state, dignitaries, and members of the Royal family. The ceremony, scheduled to take place at Westminster Abbey, includes a series of rituals and procedures that date back to the Middle Ages. On this historic occasion, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife, Dr. Sudeep Dhankhar, are representing India and will be seated alongside other Heads of State from the Commonwealth.

The coronation will begin with a procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey. The King and Queen will make their way to the Abbey from Buckingham Palace, accompanied by military personnel on foot and on horseback, after a regal procession riding in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach bearing a gilded crown. Thousands of well-wishers are expected to line the streets of central London, waving flags, while some groups of protesters, who campaign for the abolition of the monarchy and have organised #NotMyKing protests at Trafalgar Square, are also expected to be present.

Upon arrival at the Abbey, the King will be greeted by a congregation of approximately 2,200 individuals, including heads of state and government, royalty from around the world, as well as local community leaders.

The palace said, “The crowning of the Sovereign is an ancient ceremony, rich in religious significance, history, and pageantry. The service is deeply sacred and traditional while reflecting the monarch’s role today and looking towards the future.”

The religious ceremony will comprise five essential stages: Recognition, Oath, Anointing, Investiture and Crowning, and Enthronement and Homage. At the end of the Coronation Service, the monarch will exchange the Imperial State Crown, also known as the Crown of State, for St Edward’s Crown. The Imperial State Crown is also used for ceremonial purposes, including the State Opening of Parliament, according to the palace.

During the coronation ceremony, Queen Camilla will wear Queen Mary’s crown, which was initially designed for the coronation of June 1911 and featured three large diamonds, including the controversial Kohinoor. However, the latter was later replaced with crystal replicas. The current version of the crown, designed for 75-year-old Camilla, does not include the Kohinoor and features a silver frame lined with gold, set with 2,200 diamonds, mainly brilliant-cut, with some rose-cut.

King Charles and Queen will then be anointed with holy oil. While the anointment of the Queen will take place in full public view with holy oil, Charles will undergo the same process behind a screen featuring a central design of a tree with 56 leaves, each representing the Commonwealth of Nations, including a leaf dedicated to India. As part of the religious ceremony, the holy Chrism oil, which was consecrated at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, will be symbolically touched on the monarch’s head, chest, and hands.

The Archbishop of Canterbury will then place the crown on his head, officially proclaiming him as the King of the United Kingdom. King Charles III will then take an oath to uphold the laws of the country and protect the Church of England. Following the coronation, King Charles III may give a speech from the balcony of Buckingham Palace, where he may address the gathered crowds and the nation as a whole. The coronation of King Charles III marks the beginning of a new era for the Royal family and the country.

Other Indians to attend the coronation program

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor will share the stage with stars like Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Tom Cruise at King Charles’ Coronation Concert. She has been invited to give an exclusive spoken word piece at King Charles’ Coronation Concert, introducing Steve Winwood and special Commonwealth virtual song singers at Windsor Castle, United Kingdom.

Two dabbawalas from Mumbai will also represent their fraternity at the coronation ceremony. They bought a Puneri turban and a shawl made by the Warkari community to gift to the king on this special occasion. Charles had met Mumbai’s famous lunch box delivery men during his visit to India in 2003.

Pune-born 37-year-old architect Saurabh Phadke, 37, has also been invited to the ceremony. He graduated from the Charles Foundation’s Building Craft Program and the Prince Foundation School of Traditional Arts. Apart from this, 33-year-old Gulsha, who was awarded the Prince’s Trust Global Award, is also on the list. Also, Jay Patel from Canada has also been invited.

External Affairs S Jaishankar on Friday took a dig at Pakistan’s economic condition amid its depleting forex reserves.

Slamming Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s comments on terrorism, he said, “Pakistan’s credibility is depleting faster than even its Forex reserves,” at a media briefing by the Presidency after SCO Council of Foreign Ministers.

“They (Pakistan) are committing acts of terrorism. I don’t want to jump the gun on what happened today, but we all feel equally outraged. On this matter, the terrorism matter, I would say that Pakistan’s credibility is depleting faster than even its Forex reserves,” Jaishankar said.

Adding further, EAM said Pakistan has nothing to do with G20 and Srinagar.

“I said they (Pakistan) have nothing to do with G20. I will also say that they have nothing to do with Srinagar. There is only one issue to discuss on Kashmir which is when does Pakistan vacate its illegal occupation of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir,” the EAM added.

On a question on abrogation of Article 370, EAM Dr S Jaishankar phrased, “…wake up and smell the coffee. 370 is history. The sooner people realise it, the better it is.”

Over the visit of Pakistan Foreign Minister Bhutto to Goa for the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Goa, EAM slammed his neighbouring counterpart, saying, “He came here as the Foreign Minister of an SCO Member State. That is part of multilateral diplomacy. Don’t see it as anything more than that. I think that nothing from what he said or what I heard he said deserves for this to be treated more than that.”

Two stalkers on a two-wheeler chase KKR captain Nitish Rana’s wife Saachi Marwah’s car in Delhi, hit her vehicle

Saachi Marwah, the wife of Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana, was recently in Delhi when two youths began following her car and hitting it for no reason at all. She was horrified by the incident and turned to Instagram to share it with her followers.

Two miscreants on a two-wheeler began to chase Marwah and damaged her vehicle while Marwah was inside the car. According to her Instagram Stories, Saachi Marwah sought to report the incident to the Delhi Police, but the officials were unhelpful. When she tried to file a complaint, she was advised by the police that she should let the matter go since she had “reached home safely.”

The police also instructed Marwah, who was on call at the time, to write down the vehicle numbers of the miscreants in case such an incident happened again.

“Just a casual day in Delhi, on my way back home from work! These guys randomly started hitting my car! Just no reason, stalked and chased and the police told me on the phone when I complained, ‘So now that you’ve reached home safe, let it go! Next time, number note kar lena’ (note the number next time), aye aye captain, next time, I’ll take their phone numbers also!” Saachi Marwah wrote on her Instagram story.

Nitish Rana, Saachi Marwah’s husband, is the current captain of the two-time IPL champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. So far this season, Rana has been one of his team’s finest players, scoring 275 runs in 10 matches.

‘Modi got soldiers killed in Pulwama to seek votes in their names’: Congress leader Dr Udit Raj; calls Patna HC judges casteist

Udit Raj, the Congress leader, has once again made controversial statements, this time regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the judiciary. Raj, known for having loose control over his tongue and making controversial statements, claimed that PM Modi got soldiers in Pulwama killed to reap electoral benefits and called Patna HC judges ‘casteists’ after the court stayed Bihar’s caste-based survey.

“Modi ji sought votes in the name of the martyrs in Pulwama by getting them killed. Modi ji is asking for votes in the name of Bajrang Bali in Karnataka. Anything for power! At least spare God,” he posted on Twitter, attacking the PM.

The Pulwama attack occurred on 14 February 2019, when a convoy of vehicles carrying Indian security personnel on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber Adil Ahmad Dar, at Lethapora in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. 40 Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were martyred in the terror assault.

“Judges of Patna High Court are casteists. How can they ban the caste census? Will they play the role of the elected government,” the Congressman insulted the judges in a tweet on May 4.

In a setback to the Nitish Kumar government, the Patna High Court Thursday stayed the ongoing caste-based survey in Bihar with immediate effect and stated the state government had no power to conduct the same as it would infringe on the legislative powers of Parliament.

Udit Raj has a history of making such allegations. Last month he provoked people by declaring, “Whoever is a Modi bhakt (supporter), will be killed,” he wrote with his image from a protest organised in the name of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act of 2005 (MGNREGA).

Notably, the politician was previously in Bharatiya Janata Party. He was elected member of parliament from North-West Delhi in 2014 on a BJP ticket. However, he was denied a ticket in 2019 after which he joined Congress and started spewing nonsense against the BJP.

Indian Army’s ongoing ‘Operation Trinetra’

A joint operation is underway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district to flush out the terrorists suspected to be involved in the Poonch terror attack. Reportedly, one terrorist has been neutralised so far in the operation which is being carried out jointly by the Indian Army and other central security forces.

Speaking about the ongoing operation, the defence spokesperson in Jammu said, “In the ensuing gunbattle, one terrorist has been neutralised and another is likely injured. 5 Army soldiers killed in a blast during anti-terror operations in Rajouri forest in J&K

On Friday, May 5, terrorists detonated an explosive device during an encounter that broke out with the security forces in the Kandi region of Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir. The explosion killed five Army soldiers and injured four others, including an officer. Following the incident at the Kesari area of Kandi hamlet, mobile internet services were suspended in Rajouri.

People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), a terror organisation established by Jaish-e-Mohammed in 2020, claimed responsibility for the killing of the Indian Army troops.

According to army officials, terrorists belong to the same group that ambushed an army truck in Poonch on April 20 in which at least five jawans of Rashtriya Rifles lost their lives and one more was injured.

‘If you think it is attacking you, not ISIS, then you are also a terrorist’: Kangana Ranaut on those opposing film The Kerala Story

The much-awaited film The Kerala Story, which was released on May 5, has received a tremendous response from the audience. The film also turned out to be one of the biggest openers of 2023. The Sudipto Sen directorial is based on the true stories of thousands of girls from Kerala who were converted to Islam and sent to Syria to become ISIS terrorists and sex slaves. Apart from the massive support, The Kerala Story also faced opposition from liberals and Islamists. Now actress Kangana Ranaut has voiced her opinion regarding the controversy around the film at ABP Majha’s Maha Katta event.

In response to a question about the film and the issue raised in the film—the conversion of non-Muslim girls to Islam and then using them as terrorists, actress Kangana Ranaut said that although she has not watched the film, she is aware that there were demands to ban the film, however, the High Court refused to ban the film. She also said that the film is based on ISIS which is a terrorist organization as noted by the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs and authorities of several other countries as well.

“See, I have not watched the film, but a lot of effort has gone into trying to ban it. I read it today; correct me if I’m wrong, but the High Court ruled that the movie can not be banned. Except for ISIS, I don’t think it depicts anyone in a bad light. If the High Court, the country’s responsible body, says so, then they are correct, and we all should respect that. The Islamic State is a terrorist organization. It’s not as if I’m labeling them terrorists; our country, the Home Ministry, and other countries have,” Kangana said.

The actress further said that the film is not attacking anyone but ISIS and that if anyone thinks the film is attacking them then they are terrorists.

“Agar aap aisa samjhte hai ki woh terrorist organisation nahi hai, zahir si baat hai phir aap bhi terrorist hi hai. I’m alluding to people who think this film is attacking them and not ISIS. If you think it is attacking you, then you are a terrorist,” Kangana opined.

Notably, The Kerala Story, directed by Sudipto Sen, also chronicles how a young Hindu girl named Shalini Unnikrishnan converted to Islam with the help of her Muslim companions, married their co-religionist and fled to an ISIS-controlled area with her spouse.

Pakistan foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto issues a veiled threat to India during his visit to the country

On Friday, May 5, Pakistani foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto, who got a cold welcome from Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar during the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), issued a veiled threat to India as he said that “such a response will be given that it will be remembered”.

In what seemed like an attempt to please his domestic audience, Bhutto raised the Kashmir issue during a press conference with the Pakistani media in Goa. When asked about India holding a G20 summit in Kashmir, he said, “Waqt aane par aisa jawab denge jo yaad rahega. It shows pettiness. It is a show of arrogance that to hell with international laws, to hell with United Nations Security Council resolution, they will hold their events.”

He further claimed that they (India) will be unable to achieve 110 percent attendance because other people will not compromise on their morals.

While Bhutto desperately attempted to rake up the non-existent Kashmir issue and expressed opposition to India’s plans to host the G20 summit in Jammu and Kashmir, EAM Jaishankar asserted that Pakistan has nothing to do with G20 and that they also have nothing to do even with Srinagar and Kashmir. He also added that Pakistan should talk about when will they be vacating the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK).

“Pakistan has nothing to do with Kashmir or even with Srinagar. The only issue to discuss with Pakistan on Kashmir is when they will vacate Pakistan-occupied Kashmir,” EAM Jaishankar said.

Reacting to the Pakistani foreign minister’s statement wherein he said that “Let’s not get caught up in weaponizing terrorism for diplomatic point scoring,”, EAM Jaishankar exposed the mindset of Pakistan and said that, “We are not scoring diplomatic points. We are politically and diplomatically exposing Pakistan in front of the world.”

Congress claims BJP leadership is planning assassination of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and his family to derail Congress campaign in Karnataka

On Saturday (May 6) morning, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala stirred the hornet’s nest by claiming that the BJP is conspiring to kill Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and his family.

The development comes just days ahead of the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections in the State. “The sinister and ugly plot to kill Mallikarjun Kharge and his entire family by the BJP is the lowest that the political discourse can stoop to,” Surjewala alleged.

Surjewala claimed that the motive behind the supposed ‘murder conspiracy’ is to derail the Congress campaign in the Karnataka elections. “Friends, there is a designed hatred towards Karnataka’s son of the soil on the part of Central and State BJP leadership,” the Congress spokesperson added.

Randeep Surjewala then went on to dub Kharge as ‘Dalit’, and ‘leader of social justice’. He claimed, “Now they are using assassination plots as last weapons in their armoury…This is not an attack on Mallikarjun Kharge but on the life and honour of every Kannadiga.”

“The land of Lord Basavanna, which prides itself on rich traditions of harmony and democratic co-existence, is under attack by these murderous conspiracies,” he brazened it out.

The Congress spokesperson accused PM Modi, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai, Karnataka police and the Election Commission of India (ECI) of being mute spectators to the supposed conspiracy.

Screengrab of the press release

“The only befitting reply by 6.5 crores Kannadiga brothers and sisters to murder the son of the soil of Karnataka is by decisively decimating the BJP in the ensuing Karnataka elections,” Randeep Surjewala concluded, hoping to draw a sympathy wave in favour of the Congress party.

It must be mentioned that Mallikarjun Kharge and his son Priyank had earlier resorted to name-calling and defaming PM Modi. They had used slurs such as ‘poisonous snake‘ and ‘nalayak‘ for the Prime Minister respectively.

Congress party has now stooped even lower by suggesting that the rival party wants to murder its leader without any proof. It seems like a well-thought-out ploy to undo the damage caused by name-calling PM Modi.

The Kerala Story: Adah Sharma’s film becomes one of the biggest openers of 2023 despite opposition from political parties

The Kerala Story was released amid multiple controversies yesterday to strong numbers and became one of the biggest openers of 2023. The movie reportedly brought in between Rs 7.50-8 crore on the first day making it the fifth-highest opening for a Hindi film in 2023.

The film managed to get a higher box office collection than even movies like megastar Akshay Kumar starrer Selfie, and Karthik Aryan’s Shahzada. In fact, the movie beat even last year’s blockbuster ‘The Kashmir Files’ when it came to the first day’s collections.

The multilingual project, featuring Adah Sharma and written and directed by Sudipto Sen, has garnered a lot of attention and has been in the news since the makers released its trailer.

Even though the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) determined it was appropriate for public viewing, numerous petitions asking for a ban on its release were filed.

The Supreme Court, on Thursday, refused to entertain a plea against the film. The Madras High Court on Thursday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation seeking a ban on its release. On Friday, a division bench of the Kerala High Court rejected a petition for the same.

The film’s story revolves around Shalini Unnikrishnan, played by Adah Sharma, an innocent Hindu woman from Kerala, who is brainwashed by her Muslim friends and gets converted to Islam and marries a Muslim. She later travels to ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) also known as IS (Islamic State) controlled area with her spouse.
