West Bengal: Hindu girl detained after Muslim Mob pelt stones at police chowk over her post asking rioters to migrate to Islamic countries

On Friday (June 10), a frenzied mob of Muslim men ambushed the Beladanga police station in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal.

As per reports, they hurled stones and bricks at the police station and demanded the arrest of a Hindu girl named Aishwani, who had asked rioters in the State to migrate to nearby Islamic countries. The girl was subsequently detained by the police.

Forced by circumstances, the cops had to fire tear gas shells to disperse the violent mob and pacify the situation. The police have not yet issued any statement in connection to the events that unfolded on Friday evening.

As per a report by ABP Ananda, the Muslim mob vandalised the house of the Hindu girl and a dozen other buildings located in her neighbourhood. A youth had also sustained head injuries during the attack.

In visuals shared by the news channel, broken pieces of glass and bricks were spotted outside the targeted building. The residents in the area are said to be in a state of fear and panic. They have sought protection from the police and demanded the arrest of the culprits.

The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused and are now trying to ascertain their identity through CCTV footage.

The Background of the Controversy

The Hindu girl, Aishwani, was dismayed at the orgy of violence, and vandalism orchestrated by the Islamists in West Bengal under the garb of blasphemy.

In a Facebook post, Aishwani had written, “O ra rager mathai bhangchur na kore desh chera gelao toh pare (Instead of vandalising properties, they can also avail the option of leaving this country.)”

A user named Subhhrakanti Mukerjee responded to her post by saying that Islamists would not leave the country until they destroy it completely. Aishwani replied, “Sesh hoye gela toh emnitao doshi nirdoshi protekkei beriya jeta hobe (If the country is destroyed, then, everyone will eventually have to leave the land).”

She further added, “Tar cheya borong Islamic er mote toh ata munafikder desh, ekhane theka chole gelai pare tader Islamic desh e ( Since Islamists believe that this is a nation of infidels, they can go to their Islamic countries instead.)”

Following outrage over her politically incorrect remarks, Aishwani was forced to tender an apology. “Sorry, it was a mistake to utter those words. If anyone is hurt by my statement, then, please forgive me.”

Thereafter, the Islamists attacked her house and intimidated the police into arresting her. She will soon be produced before a local court.

Islamists hold the State of West Bengal to ransom

On Thursday (June 9), a mob of frenzied protestors blocked the National Highway connecting Howrah and Kolkata, thereby resulting in traffic woes and public inconvenience. The demonstration comes days after the BJP suspended its spokesperson Nupur Sharma over alleged ‘blasphemous’ remarks against Prophet Muhammad.

The protestors, dressed in skull caps and lungi, created a ruckus on NH116. They yelled Islamist slogans and burnt tyres. In videos that have now surfaced on social media, dark smoke could be seen engulfing the skies.

Reportedly, the blockade began from Nibra (Kona Expressway-NH16 junction) at around 10:30 am and ended at 9:30 pm. Located at about 12 km from the second Howrah bridge, it extended up to the AJC Bose Road in Kolkata.

Instead of acting against the mob that had brought traffic to a near halt in Howrah, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asked them to disrupt public life in other states instead.

She remarked, “Why should we suffer due to communal politics of some with an aim for narrow political gains? Go protest in UP, Gujarat…states where BJP is in power. But they are not in power in Bengal, so don’t do this for publicity in here.”

On Friday (June 10), the Islamists disrupted the vehicular movement in the Park Circus area in Kolkata. Following the Friday prayers (Jumma Namaz), Islamists began gathering on the road and demonstrating against the remarks made by BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

Similar scenes were seen in Kolkata’s twin city Howrah, where Muslim mobs resorted to violence and vandalism. They burnt down vehicles and police booths during the violent protests.

Complaints against LiveLaw for misreporting HC proceedings in Kerala Gold Smuggling Case; prime accused had named CM Vijayan in the case

Multiple complaints have been registered with the Registrar General of the Kerala High Court against the legal news portal LiveLaw for misrepresenting the proceedings of the High Court.

Kerala BJP leader Prasanth Sivan and Advocate Syamkumar P.H have lodged separate complaints alleging that the misreporting by LiveLaw amounted to contempt of court.

The complaints have argued that LiveLaw published a misleading headline for a report on the bail application of Swapna Suresh ’closed’ by the Kerala High Court, which they asserted amounted to contempt of court.

The matter pertains to the high-profile case of Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in the Kerala Gold smuggling case of 2020. On Thursday this week, the Kerala HC closed the bail application of Suresh and Sarith, accused in the Kerala Gold Smuggling case that involved the smuggling of gold from the UAE through diplomatic baggage.

Suresh had moved the court after an FIR was filed against her, on the complaint of Kerala MLA and Ex-Minister K. T. Jaleel, who accused her of spreading rumours and attempting to incite people to riot over her statement indicting Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and his family and Jaleel.

Suresh had levelled serious allegations against the chief minister in her bail application as well. In her bail application, Suresh said a person came to her office on behalf of the Chief Minister to pressurise her to withdraw her statement. The application further said that Shaji Kiran, the person who visited her is close to Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, the state secretary of CPIM and is one of the Directors of Gospel for Asia, an organisation of K.P Yohannan. Furthermore, the application said Kiran is the person “who is handling the investment of the Chief Minister as well as Kodiyeri Balakrishnan abroad”.

The Kerala High Court ‘closed’ the bail application after the public prosecutor argued that Sarith is not an accused in the case and all the offences are bailable offences. “Recording the above submission, the anticipatory bail application is closed”, the High Court’s order said.

Complaints are filed against LiveLaw for misreporting closure of bail application of Swapna Suresh by Kerala HC

However, the legal news portal LiveLaw reported the said order and the proceedings with a headline: “BREAKING| Kerala High Court Dismisses Pre-Arrest Bail Plea Moved By Swapna Suresh, Sarith For Raising Allegations Against CM” (emphasis added).

The complaints filed against LiveLaw say the reason cited in the headline for the alleged dismissal is totally false, misleading and therefore amounts to criminal contempt of court.

The complaints say the bail application was not dismissed but closed. “More importantly, the reason mentioned in the headline, that the case was dismissed ‘for raising allegations against CM’ is totally false”, a copy of the complaint accessed by OpIndia says.

It further pointed out that the body of the report published by LiveLaw does not mention the alleged reason cited in the headline. “Moreover, the report does not quote any oral remark by the Hon’ble Judge that may give even a semblance of credibility to the headline. In any case, there was no such remark by the Judge during the hearing,” the complaint said.

The complainants have accused LiveLaw of deliberately framing the false headline with a malafide intention to mislead what transpired in the Court of Justice Viju Abraham. “Live Law has published the fake news to mislead the public about the proceedings of the Hon’ble High Court, to help a particular political party and its leaders. Such deliberate misreporting amounts to interference with the administration of justice and criminal contempt of the Hon’ble Court,” says the complaint.

Contending that LiveLaw is being used to build and propagate fake narratives about the judicial proceedings and demanding action against them, the complaint says, “If you look at who owns and runs the website Live Law, the malafide reason for such deliberate misreporting will become clear.”

This is not the first time that LiveLaw is being accused of misrepresenting judicial proceedings. Earlier, Justice Arun Mishra, while speaking from the Bench of the Supreme Court, had castigated the “lopsided” and “incorrect” reporting by LiveLaw and Bar and Bench while chastising ‘PIL Activist’ Prashant Bhushan for taking matters of the Court to the media and making improper tweets on social media.

Srinagar police initiate probe against Caravan Magazine’s reporter Shahid Tantray for giving targets to terrorists with his reporting

On June 8, the Srinagar police took to its official Twitter handle to confirm that a probe has been initiated against a reporter of the Caravan magazine, Shahid Tantray, for his mischievous article ‘False Flags’ published on the far-left website on June 1, 2022. It said that the investigation was initiated based on complaints received from many prominent persons in Kashmir.

Sharing the development, the police tweeted, “A complaint has been received from many prominent persons against one reporter namely Shahid Tantray for his article “False Flags” in Caravan. It is alleged that the article names them in a mischievous manner which is akin to giving targets to terror groups and puts them in danger.”

The police used the example of Kashmir-based journalist Shujaat Bukhari to emphasize how shoddy and reckless journalism had previously resulted in the assassination of several notable figures, including the ‘Rising Kashmir’ writer. It said that the police had started investigating why the prominent personalities, who filed the complaint, were named in Shahid Tantray’s article ‘False Flags’.

“In past, many prominent personalities like Shujaat Bukhari have been targeted & killed due to similar articles focussed on certain personalities in blogs like Kashmir Fight etc. Inquiry into allegations & reasons for naming these persons has started led by a DySP rank officer,” the Srinagar police wrote in its subsequent Tweet.

On June 1, 2022, the far-left ‘news’ website Caravan Magazine published an article targeting the Indian Army deployed in Kashmir and some prominent BJP leaders and army officials. The article titled “False Flags: The Indian Army’s secretive role in hyper-nationalist protests in Kashmir” by Shahid Tantray inferred that the Indian Army was utilizing ‘power brokers’ in the valley to organize phoney anti-terrorism candle protests in order to portray themselves as nationalists and garner media attention.

The article was published in The Caravan on June 1, 2022

The author had also shared the report from his official Twitter handle. He Tweeted, “The Indian Army’s secretive role in hyper-nationalist protests in Kashmir as they try to establish a new generation of politicians, power brokers in the valley, tied indivisibly with the BJP’s vision for the region. I report.”

In the article, the author named Colonel Sanjay Bhalay, from the 125th battalion of the territorial army, a “politician belonging to BJP, retired civil servants and a couple of people who sat on the fence between journalism and hyper-nationalist bombast” and claimed that they pretend to stage nationalism protests in Kashmir merely for the media.

After the article was published, many prominent people named in the article lodged a complaint with the Jammu and Kashmir police alleging that the manner in which the author had ‘mischievously’ used their names was akin to giving targets to terror groups and putting them in danger. The Srinagar police said that “On the basis of this complaint, an inquiry has been started to find out the real reasons why these personalities were specifically named in the article.”

The Caravan ‘journalist’ Shahid Tantray claims J&K police is harassing him and his family

Meanwhile, after the statement of the Srinagar police, Tantray accused the Jammu and Kashmir Police of issuing threats and consistently harassing him and his family for more than four months because of his reporting.

Tantray said the UT police have been pursuing him since he visited Srinagar in January on reporting assignments commissioned by The Caravan and outlined the months of ‘harassment’ in a long statement released by him on Wednesday, June 8.

‘Nupur Sharma is daughter of India’: Hindu seers support the former BJP spokesperson, 16 resolutions passed in Dharma Parishad at Kashi

Islamists have come to streets all over India in the last few days to protest against former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for her remarks on Prophet Mohammad. While BJP has suspended her from the party and distanced itself from her comments, Sharma has been receiving support from ordinary people online and offline. Now, several Hindu seers have openly taken a stand to back Nupur Sharma in this case.

At the Dharma Parishad held at Kashi, Hindu saints have clearly said that those threatening Nupur Sharma should be arrested and punished. They also condemned the violence that erupted at various places in the country after the Friday Namaz on 10th June 2022. Hindu saints have warned the Islamists that they will also take this battle to the streets. In all, 16 such resolutions are passed in the Dharma Parishad held at Kashi on 10th June 2022 in which a large number of saints and sages from various Akhadas were present.

The Dharma Parishad was held at Sudam Kuti of Har Teerath of Varanasi. Chief of the Paatal Puri Math, Mahant Balak Das presided over the meeting. Head priests and chiefs of various Maths, Peethas, and Akhadas in Kashi were present at this meeting along with many other Hindu saints and sages.

Mahant Balak Das said, “Our country is ruled by the Constitution and not by Sharia. We will not tolerate anyone saying any bad thing about the Hindu Dharma. Nupur Sharma is the daughter of India and none of the comments being made about her is forgivable in any way. We will give a befitting reply to those who are attacking our Dharma.”

As the Dharma Parishad proceeded on Friday 10th June, news of the violent demonstrations by the Islamists after Namaz in different cities arrived. Following this, the issue of Nupur Sharma was discussed in the Dharma Sansad and several resolutions were presented and 16 of them were unanimously accepted.

Hindu saints attending this Dharma Parishad stood firm with Nupur Sharma. They said that as far as the issue of the comments about Prophet Mohammad is concerned, all of them are firmly backing Nupur Sharma and those threatening her should be arrested under the National Security Act. The sages also demanded that security should be provided to Afsar Baba who fearlessly spoke the truth of Gyanvapi and Mahadev. Hindu Dharmik leaders in this meeting condemned the attack on Afsar Baba for speaking out the truth. It is notable that Afsar Baba had said that Kashi is the city of Baba Bholenath and Gyanvapi complex belongs to him and it must be returned to the ones who own it.

Hindu saints attending the Dharma Parishad expressed their dissent towards violence carried out on the streets by the Muslim mobs. They demanded that the state government and the union government should take strict action against the conspirators who are responsible for this anarchy.

The Hindu sages decided that they will come to the streets in order to save the country and that they will unmask the anti-national elements. They further said in this meeting that looking at the pace and the way fundamentalists are taking the country towards a catastrophic condition, saviors of Dharma must come ahead and fight. Sadhus are also going to register an FIR against the Anjuman Intezamiya Committee for drilling a hole in the Shivling found at the Gyanvapi complex.

According to reports, the saints in this Dharma Parishad decided that all the Akhadas and sects within the Dharmik fold will come together and their heads will jointly send a proposal to the government and demand strict action against the fundamentalists. They said that those responsible for the violence and stone-pelting should be arrested and the properties of the people involved in this should be attached. They also demanded that the conspiracy behind this organized violence should be investigated.

Among other resolutions, the Hindu saints underlined that Hindu deities are repeatedly insulted not only by the religious fundamentalists but also by the filmmakers. Saints demanded that all of them should be jailed. A Hanuman temple was vandalized in Ranchi on Friday. The saints present in the meeting also condemned that. They also demanded that the properties of the Maulanas spreading hatred be attached and the mosque properties should be sealed if stone-pelting is noticed from mosques. One of the demands was to identify and make a list of jihadis in every locality.

The saints also resolved to soon hold a meeting with more saints and sages and Naga Sadhus. The next strategy of the saints will be decided in the joint meeting with Naga Sadhus.

A list of the resolutions passed in the meeting is as follows

  • People who cause violence on Fridays should be banned.
  • The mosque from where stone-pelting takes place should be closed.
  • Afsar Baba who speaks the truth on Gyanvapi should be given permanent protection. The attackers should be arrested under National Security Act.
  • NSA should be imposed on those who give rape threats to Nupur Sharma.
  • Saints will also have to take to the streets to save the country from Islamic fundamentalists.
  • The conspiracy to make India an Islamic country has to be exposed.
  • A joint meeting of saints, Mahatmas, and Naga sadhus will be held.
  • Those who make derogatory remarks about gods and goddesses, or make jokes in movies should be sent to jail immediately.
  • Areawise list of jihadis should be made.
  • Maulanas who give hate speeches on every Friday should be arrested and their property should be confiscated.
  • Every mosque should have CCTV cameras and speech by Maulanas should be recorded.
  • Trade relations with Islamic countries that disregard the country’s honor should be ended.
  • A city-level unit of the Sant Samaj will be formed which will include people from all sects.
  • The Jharkhand government should immediately arrest those who are responsible for the violence in Ranchi, failing to which be prepared to face a nationwide agitation.
  • The Government of India should pass a stringent law to control the fundamentalists.

Tiananmen square massacre: How Beijing’s slaves in India had no sympathies for the victims and abused them as lackeys of the USA

Come June, the world remembers Tiananmen. Not in China’s official media though. But forget China, it has become a cowboy capitalist state in a fitting tribute to Mao. Let us look at the Indian left.

Left’s history, like that of the violent Islamists supported by it, is one of mass murders, crimes against humanity and rapist savagery. Little wonder that it produced a long list of despots, mass murders and womanisers like Stalin, Kim, Mao, Pol Pot, Ceausescu etc. Given its DNA you should only be surprised if it doesn’t. Remember, Hitler, who our left loves to cite often, was a “National socialist”. Nationalism is not ugly if it is used by the left.

Even in its earliest years, it was powered by and kept in power by violence. The “Red terror” campaign is a case in point. In fact, crimes vs humanity are in the DNA of the left as much as fascism is in the DNA of looter dynasts whose boots today’s commies and their propaganda ecosystem lick for a few seats or other table scrap. And call it pragmatism or “balance between orthodox and heterodox”. Drowning you in the sewage of empty verbiage is also their speciality.

Stalinist Indian left’s track record is no different. Its heart always beats for “our Chairman” and his interests. Parties in India split because someone gets too ambitious for his own good or maybe not, or cousins and nephews of dynasts cannot get along. But then our commies split because their headquarters split. Of course, as is their norm, they invented a lot of high-sounding verbiages to throw a smoke screen and fool us.

The academic and pseudo-intellectual coolies, (most of the upper class/caste charlatans without any useful qualification or interest in productive jobs) they employ and often lease out to lick the orifices of corrupt dynasts will do it for them. Mass murders and rapes can easily be spun into something harmless like traffic citations. “Stalin may have made some mistakes but…”. If you can find the difference between Marxist, Marxist-Leninist, Leninist-Marxist and Maoist or Maoist-Leninist, you are well on your way to crack the alphabet soup of jihadist groups – and tell us the difference between TTP and Sipah-e-Sahabah or Tehreek-e-Labaik.

Coming back to Tiananmen, P V Govindan a minister in the Kerala state government defended the massacre, calling it merely a “tense situation” that was “successfully blocked”. His boss Yechuri went one step further – declaring that “Not a drop of blood was shed at TS”. Of course, his infamous act of appearing at JNU with a Chinese propaganda film is still fresh in our minds, thanks to the fact that social media keeps such unpleasant truths usually airbrushed by their eminent historian coolies and media ecosystem from our conscience.  You will have corrupt yellow journalists in Lutyens media interviewing him like a fresher interviewing a Nobel laureate professor for the college magazine. You can, of course, sympathise with these “journalists” – their career progression depends on such sycophancy. In addition to goodies, it can provide by itself and its woke liberal pals in the West, the Stalinist left controls access to dynastic boots too. And the manna that comes from being a brown-nosed serf.

When you see the pictures of bloodied kids, read stories of tanks crushing them alive, remember the facts – Beijing’s slaves in India had no sympathies for them and abused them as lackeys of the USA. You will understand why the left’s media servants referred to Nandigram as a ‘firing incident’ as if it were a natural disaster, not the Pol Potist orgy of planned mass murders and rapist savagery unleashed on defenceless villagers it was.

If you read any statement or article by the Stalinist propaganda ecosystem that drips with integral humanism and sheds tears for “subaltern”, farmers, students, or human rights, remember Tiananmen. Read up on the Toul Sleng museum in Phnom Penh. That’s what they really are. The rest is a false façade.

And resolve not to let that happen to India. Do you want an India where Malini, Yechuri, Ram, Kavita, Nandini or Varadarajan are the only ones that have the right to tell you what is good for you and banish you to gulags or harvest your organs alive if you disagree? Bonus: Spot the similarity in the list above and you are closer to understanding Indian communism.

BJP sweeps 8 seats to strengthen its position in Rajya Sabha; MVA govt suffers massive setback after BJP wins 3 seats in Maharashtra

The BJP won eight of the 16 Rajya Sabha seats up for grabs in four states, namely Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Karnataka, thus bolstering its stronghold in the Upper House of the Parliament. With five seats, Congress emerged second. MVA alliance members Shiv Sena and NCP, as well as a BJP-backed Independent candidate from Haryana, bagged the remaining seats.

The results of the elections were declared in the wee hours of Saturday, June 11. The counting of votes was delayed due to allegations of cross-voting and rule violations, and a recount of votes had taken place past midnight.

BJP secures 3 out of 6 Rajya Sabha seats in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra, the ruling alliance of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress suffered a huge setback as the BJP snatched 3 of the 6 Rajya Sabha seats from the state. Of the 284 valid votes, Union Minister Piyush Goyal got 48 votes, former state minister Anil Bonde- 48, BJP’s Dhananjay Mahadik- 41.56, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut- 41, Congress’ Imran Pratapgarhi- 44 and NCP’s Praful Patel bagged 43. While Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena bagged one seat each, BJP secured three seats out of the six. An MLA needed 41 votes to win.

The outcome of this election is crucial as it is believed that it will influence the upcoming Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and civic elections in the state.

After the results were declared BJP leader and former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis told reporters, “Dhananjay Mahadik got more votes than Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut and defeated Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Pawar… Tomorrow it will be said that one vote has been cancelled by the Election Commission. Had he (Sanjay Pawar) got that vote, we would have won. Even if Nawab Malik had come, we would have won.”

Meanwhile, after the BJP won three out of six Rajya Sabha seats in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut accused the Election Commission of favouring the saffron party. “Election Commission made our one vote invalid. We objected to two votes but no action was taken on that. Election Commission favoured them (BJP),” Sanjay Raut said.

Election Commission disqualifies Shiv Sena legislator Suhas Kande’s vote

Notably, both BJP and the Shiv Sena had approached the Election Commission, alleging cross-voting and breach of election rules and sought disqualification of votes. Objections were raised against the votes cast by the NCP’s Jitendra Awhad, the Congress’ Yashomati Thakur and Shiv Sena’s Suhas Kande as well as against the BJP’s Sudhir Mungantiwar and Independent MLA Ravi Rana. The poll panel directed the Rajya Sabha election returning officer of Maharashtra to reject the vote cast by Shiv Sena legislator Suhas Kande. All others were ruled to be valid.

Congress to take action against MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi for cross-voting that lead to Ajay Maken’s defeat in the Rajya Sabha polls

Meanwhile, Congress is determined to oust its party’s MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi over accusations of cross-voting. The decision came after it emerged that Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi did not vote for his party’s candidate Ajay Maken, and instead cross-voted for a BJP-backed independent candidate Kartikeya Sharma.

Congress’ Ajay Maken lost to BJP-backed independent candidate Kartikeya Sharma in Haryana. The narrow margin of defeat further stung the Congress party after its MLA, Kuldeep Bishnoi, reportedly extended his support to the BJP-backed independent candidate. Following this, Congress sources have now informed that Bishnoi is set to be removed from membership of the CWC and will be suspended from the party.

Rajya Sabha poll results in 4 states

In Maharashtra out of the six Rajya Sabha seats, BJP backed 3. NCP, Shiv Sena and Congress won one each.

In Rajasthan, the ruling Congress won three of the four seats being contested, while the BJP secured one. Congress candidates Randeep Surjewala, Mukul Wasnik and Pramod Tiwari and the BJP’s Ghanshyam Tiwari were declared elected by the Election Commission late on Friday night.

In Haryana, Congress senior leader and RS poll candidate Ajay Maken lost, while BJP’s Krishan Lal Panwar and BJP-backed Independent candidate Kartikeya Sharma were declared elected for the two Rajya Sabha seats from Haryana.

Congress MLA and the party’s authorised polling agent BB Batra said while the vote of a party MLA was declared invalid, MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi cross-voted for Kartikeya Sharma.

In Karnataka, the BJP swept all the three Rajya Sabha seats it had contested. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, actor-politician Jaggesh, and MLC Lehar Singh Siroya of the BJP bagged these three seats. The fourth seat was taken by Congress candidate Jairam Ramesh. JD(S) drew a blank in Karnataka.

Members of women’s journalist body IWPC distance themselves from statement supporting Saba Naqvi, say it was issued without any consultation

In a new twist to the ongoing ‘blasphemy’ row, several woman journalists who are members of the Indian Women’s Press Corps have distanced themselves from a statement in support of controversial journalist Saba Naqvi. The journalists have said that the IWPC issued the statement without consulting them, and they don’t endorse the act of insulting Hinduism by Saba.

Yesterday, the Indian Women’s Press Corps had issued a statement condemning the FIR filed by Delhi police against Saba Naqvi on the charges of promoting false information with intention to create unrest. The police have booked several persons for various comments on Hinduism and Islam, including Nupur Sharma, Naveen Kumar Jindal, Maulana Nadeem, Asaduddin Owaisi, Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati and several others, and Saba Naqvi was one among them.

Reacting to the FIR, the IWPC had said, “The Indian Women’s Press Corps is shocked and concerned about the arbitrary manner in which an FIR has been filed against our member and senior journalist Saba Naqvi for her posts. It appears that select people are being targeted for their views which is very unfortunate. Time and again, we have seen that it leads to undue harassment of individuals on a subjective basis. We expect the legal system to be more judicious in the execution of its powers. In the present context we demand that the FIR be withdrawn by the Delhi Police and the process initiated to get it quashed in court.”

The statement was posted on Twitter by Saba Naqvi.

However, now several members of the organisation have come forward to distance themselves from the statement. Journalist Aasha Khosa tweeted that she is an elected member of the IWPC management Committee, and she does not endorse the statement.

“While Saba is a valued colleague, I don’t support her hateful messages on Lord Shiva and felt insulted,” Khosa said, adding the hashtag #NotInMyName  in the tweet.

Another journalist Chitra Narayanan said that while the FIR against Saba was not warranted, as an member of the body she found the statement as it was issued without consulting with the members. She added that as a as a journalist body, it should equally plead for members not to post distasteful/incendiary stuff.

Times of India journalist Bharti Jain tweeted that she also does not endorse the statement. “Let the law take its own course. #NotInMyName,” she added.

Mona Parthsarthi, another elected member of IWPC, tweeted the same, saying she disassociates herself from the statement and she has not endorsed it.

Similar views were expressed by several other woman journalists who are members of the body, including TOI’s Lakshmi Iyer, ANI’s Payal Mehta, Aditi Kapoor, and several others. Author and journalist Sandhya Jain, also a member of IWPC, pointed how so many woman journalists are upset at the “unilateral statement”. She said that it was issued without information or discussion.

While only some IWPC members condemned the Hinduphobic tweet by Saba Naqvi, all of the distanced themselves from the statement because it was issued without any consultation.

The FIR against Saba Naqvi was filed after a complaint was lodged against her for a tweet mocking the shivling discovered inside the Gyanvapi structure. To support the claim that it was actually a fountain and not Shivling, Naqvi had joined the Islamists who had started to post images of various things resembling a Shivling to mock Hindus wanting to reclaim the original Kashi Vishwanath temple.

She had shared a picture of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre on 18th May 2022 with a caption that said, “Huge Shivling discovered at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.” She had attributed it to WhatsApp forwards, and after outrage on Twitter, she had deleted the post and issued an apology.

Apart from IWPC, Press Club of India has also objected to the FIR against Saba Naqvi. In fact, the body went one step ahead and claimed that the tweet posted by her was not blasphemous.

‘Will be killed soon’: Dutch legislator Geert Wilders gets death threats from Islamists for supporting Nupur Sharma, says he is ‘proud of supporting her’

Geert Wilders, a Dutch legislator, is currently receiving death threats for his support of ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for her statements about Prophet Muhammad. Geert Wilders, who has repeatedly taken a tough stance against Islamic extremism in his country, had shown his support for Nupur Sharma, who has been under relentless attack from Islamists all over the world after making statements about the Islamic Prophet during a news debate on television.

Wilders tweeted multiple screenshots of threats to assassinate him as soon as possible. He stated in the tweet, “So this is what I get supporting the brave #NupurSharma. Hundreds of death threats. It makes me even more determined and proud of supporting her. For evil may never win. Never. #IsupportNupurSharma”

The screenshots Wilders shared in the tweet contain vulgar threat messages intended at the assassination of him. One of them reads, “InshaAllah, a day will come when I will take off your head with my dagger and hang it on the minaret of Pakistan, then we will raise a slogan. Mumtaz Qadri has passed away but the gun is still there. You have no more days.”

Another one reads, “You Son of a bitch you will be killed soon. We will make you a sign of fear for people like you till end of times..”

“It is ridiculous that Arab and Islamic countries are angered by Indian politician Nupur Sharma’s statement for speaking the truth about Prophet Muhammad who indeed married Aisha when she was six years old and consumed the marriage when she was nine. Why does India apologize?” said Wilders in a tweet on June 6 in support of Nupur Sharma.

Wilders has maintained that he receives death threats on a daily basis from Pakistani and Turkish Muslims who wish to kill in the name of Prophet Muhammad and that he would never stop telling the truth.

Geert Wilders and his stand against Islamic fundamentalism

Geert Wilders, a 58-year-old Dutch parliamentarian, is the head of the Party for Freedom. He is a right-wing politician who has been loud in his opposition to the Dutch government’s immigration policy, particularly those aimed at Muslim nations and has even declared that his country should exit the EU. He has collaborated with other conservative European politicians, such as Marine Le Pen of France, to build a parliamentary group in the EU parliament that presently includes parties from nine EU nations.

Geert Wilders has long been vocal against Islamic fundamentalism and radicalism in his country. As an MP he had been opposed to mass migration and had stated inside the parliament that through mass migration, the government was importing “a monster called Islam into the country”.

In an interview, Wilders had stated earlier, “I don’t hate Muslims, I hate Islam.” He said in the same interview, “Islam is not a religion, it’s an ideology, the ideology of a retarded culture.” In June 2018, Wilders had announced a ‘Prophet Muhammad cartoon competition’ to be held at his party’s parliamentary offices. Later in August, he was forced to cancel the event after threats of terrorist violence became too significant. A number of Islamic leaders had issued Fatwa for his murder.

Jammu and Kashmir police arrests Kashmiri YouTuber Faisal Wani who enacted the beheading of ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma

The Jammu and Kashmir police Saturday, June 11 arrested the Kashmir-based YouTuber Faisal Wani, who had digitally recreated the act of beheading the former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. The police had registered an FIR against the YouTuber under sections 505 and 506 IPC at Safa Kadal Police Station in the Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir, after his gory video went viral.

On Friday, June 10, when several Islamists, baying for the blood of the ex-BJP spokesperson ran riots across India, the accused posted a disturbing video on his Youtube channel named ‘Deep Pain Fitness’.

In the said video, Wani could be heard as saying, “No action…Gustak-e-Rasool ki eki hi saza… Sarr Kalam (The punishment for blasphemy is beheading).” The Youtuber then proceeded to behead an image of Nupur Sharma with an axe. The gory video also showed Wani, holding the former BJP leader’s severed head and tossing it away with disgust.

The matter came to light after journalist Aditya Raj Kaul posted a snippet of the video on Twitter.

Following outrage on social media, Wani claimed innocence in the hopes of averting legal action. On Saturday (June 11) night, he claimed, “Yesterday, I had made a VFX video about Nupur Sharma which went viral all over India. And an innocent person (beguna) such as me got implicated in the controversy.”

He made an emotional appeal to his audience by claiming that his source of livelihood had taken a hit in recent times.

Islamists issue death threats to Nupur Sharma, announce bounties on her head

Islamists have continued to hound and threaten the ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and her family since the time Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair shared her video with a commentary on Prophet Mohammad to encourage trolls to attack her.

In the last week of May 2022, during a news debate, Nupur Sharma asked what if she makes offensive remarks about Islam the way people were making offensive remarks about Shivling and Hinduism.

Since then, the intimidation campaign against the former BJP spokesperson has continued unabated, with domestic and foreign Islamists baying for her blood. Multiple death and beheading threats have come her way. A number of FIRs have also been filed against her in different states of India. Despite her suspension from the BJP over her alleged ‘blasphemy’ and subsequent apology, Islamists have continued to target her with threats. There are multiple bounties on her head as well now ranging from Rs 20 lakhs to 1 Crore.

The worsening situation over the remarks reached rock bottom on the 10th of June 2022 as Islamist mobs ran riot in numerous states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Karnataka etc, following the Friday Namaz. In some places, the enraged mob set fire to Nupur Sharma’s effigy and posters, while in others, stones were thrown, injuring cops and citizens, and causing property damage.

A weekend story: Ravish Kumar, Whatsapp University and Jaipur Literature Festival

One of my bad habits is that I watch a whole lot of Ravish Kumar videos and that I tweet about them. There was this time fairly recently when Ravish ji went on a short break. When he returned, I noticed that he had made a few changes to his studio for prime time. He had added a framed portrait of himself to the background, alongside the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. I tweeted about that. The next time I saw his show, it was gone. Not the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, the portrait of Ravish Kumar was gone. Is Ravish ji reading my tweets? I do not know.

Anyways. So the other day when the youtube algorithm threw up this video of Ravish Kumar speaking at the Jaipur Literature Festival in 2020, I clicked on it instantly. What would Ravish ji say to an audience of cultivated social elites, with an obvious interest in history, culture, religion and politics? They appeared to cheer his every word, so here is an extract, loosely translated from Hindi (watch from 9:10 onwards):

It is Jan 26 today… in 4 days he [Mahatma Gandhi] is going to be assassinated. For five years, they have been taking his name. Actually, if you look at the chronology, 1948 came first and Jan 26, 1950 came later.

Let me interrupt here, to mention the loud cheers from the crowd when Ravish Kumar mentioned the word “chronology.” Listen carefully to what Ravish ji says next (again, loosely translated from Hindi):

Let me tell you … Chronos is a Greek god of time, and he eats up kids. The word chronology has come from there …. That is why it is important for you to understand chronology. This is not just the order of time. This is a sign that you are about to go crazy.

Again, loud cheers from the crowd at Jaipur Literature Festival. There was a bit of stunned silence though in the middle, as Ravish Kumar spoke about the God Chronos eating up kids.

I thought I would check this gory story of the Greek God who eats children. Indeed, the word “chronology” is derived from Chronos, the Greek God of time. So did Chronos eat children?

No! Or at the very least, there was no such thing on Wikipedia. This struck me as strange. You would think Wikipedia would mention something about this. But no. That is when a little note in the upper corner of the Wikipedia article on “Chronos” caught my eye.

Not to be confused with Cronus,” the article warns us. That’s Cronus, the son of Uranus. When Cronus learned that he would one day be overthrown by his own children, he decided to devour them all. One by one, he ate his children: the gods Demeter, Hestia, Hera, Hades and Poseidon. All until he fathered Zeus, who was hidden away by his mother. In the Roman tradition, Cronus is identified with Saturn, the god of evil.

It is clear now. It was obviously a mixup between “Chronos” and “Cronus.” The word “chronology” is not related to Cronus, but derived from Chronos. This may seem like a minor issue, even pedantic. But given how sinister it sounded, the dark story told about Chronos eating children and the way the crowd responded to the word “chronology,” can we let go of it so easily? So what does this episode say about Ravish Kumar, the people he was addressing, and liberalism in general?

First of all, this was no ordinary crowd that Ravish Kumar was speaking to. This was a crowd at Jaipur Literature Festival. These people are social elites. They are supposed to know things. Many of them are the kind of people that like to dismiss others as “Whatsapp University.” And yet, nobody spoke up. Nobody interrupted to correct the speaker. The interviewer had no clue, and neither did the audience. But why?

Second, even if nobody in that huge crowd of social elites knew, they at least had the means of finding out. I would safely estimate that 95 percent, possibly even 100 percent of them, were carrying smartphones. It would have taken only a few seconds to check out the story, and pinpoint the mixup between “Cronus” and “Chronos.” When I heard the story, I certainly wanted to know more. How come nobody in the audience felt the same way? It is okay not to know stuff, but how is it okay not to have a questioning attitude?

There is another reason why this story caught my attention. Because a keyword like “eating babies,” and its emotional effect on an audience, cannot be taken lightly. In the US, there is this crazy conspiracy theory known as QAnon. It falsely alleges that there is a vast ring of child-eating paedophiles in the United States, run by top politicians. The effects of this false campaign have been extraordinarily dangerous. Unhinged people, who believe in this conspiracy theory, have gathered mobs and carried out armed attacks against those they believe are engaged in satanic sacrifices of children. Since then, tech platforms have been struggling to get rid of pages that advance the QAnon conspiracy theory, and the FBI has now assessed them as a domestic terror threat.

Am I saying that Ravish Kumar was lying to his audience or doing anything wrong? Absolutely not. Let me prove to you that Ravish ji was not lying. When I quoted him above, I had left out some bits of what he said. Last time, I used “…” in those places. So here it is in full, again loosely translated from Hindi:

Let me tell you. My English is not that good. Chronos is a Greek god of time, and he eats up kids. The word chronology has come from there. A friend who knows English told me this. That is why it is important for you to understand chronology. This is not just the order of time. This is a sign that you are about to go crazy.

See? Ravish ji was only telling you what a friend had told him about the word “chronology” and its origins, including the story about the god who eats kids. Don’t blame Ravish Kumar. You might want to blame his friend who gave him all this fake information. Or maybe not. Maybe the friend heard this from another friend, and so on. Don’t ask me if this sounds like the definition of “Whatsapp University.” My English is also not that good.

Ravish Kumar did not lie, nor did he do anything wrong. In fact, I give him 100/100 for intellectual honesty.

Let me conclude by telling you something completely unrelated to the rest of the article. Do you know what propaganda is? Propaganda is often clubbed with lies, but the two are different. A good propagandist never lies. A good propagandist guides you gently to find the lie within your own heart so that you can truly believe it.
