Family members of deceased Covid victims slam Kerala government and blame authorities for medical negligence: Here are the details

Kerala continues to remain unhinged in terms of new Covid-19 cases. Furthermore, the medical apathy in the state has raised concerns regarding the effectiveness of the Kerala model of pandemic containment and management, that various media houses and liberal sections of the society have been singing praises about.

Times Now has spoken to a few members of some distressed families who alleged that they lost their dear ones to coronavirus due to medical negligence and the Kerala government’s utter failure to curb the pandemic.

Times Now questioned a Kerala woman named Eva about the circumstances surrounding her father’s death. She confirmed that her father, who was tested positive for Covid-19, had died of a heart attack. Speaking about the gross medical and government apathy in handling the pandemic in the state, Eva said that they had taken her father to a hospital that refused to admit him. From there they were sent to another hospital. That hospital also denied her father admission. They took him to yet another two hospitals in the state, both of which did not admit her father, recalled Eva speaking to Times Now.

“Later we went to medical college. We reached there at around 5:30 pm and until 10.15 pm, my father did not get any treatment”, rued Eva, adding that though he was a Covid patient, she believes that he died because of the delay in the treatment. “If he had received treatment on time, he wouldn’t have passed away. I am sure about that”, lamented Eva.

She added that when they reached the medical college, there were many ambulances with patients waiting before them. She says she was sure that they would not take her father before all of them. So she waited until 10.15 pm. The enraged daughter went on to say that whatever facilities the state administration claims or boasts about offering to the people of the state is a lie.

“Nothing of that sort is there”, said Eva recollecting how she kept shouting and screaming helplessly, asking the hospital authorities to provide treatment to her ailing father, but to no avail. They said they were understaffed, with only 2 doctors and 4 nurses to cater to the patients. They also said they had no oxygen cylinders. They asked us to complain to the government, Eva told Times Now in her broken voice.

Confirming that her father who was finally admitted around 11.30 pm breathed his last at 2-3 am, Eva remembered how there were many others along with her father, who had died due to lack of treatment.

Here Times now questions Eva about the Kerala government’s claims of having all the required infrastructure to handle the pandemic in order. “The Govt claims that the state can bear the brunt of the cash load. Is that true?” asked the journalist. Eva responded with a big NO. She said that she was also under this impression until a father’s mortal remains were taken to the mortuary.

Times Now further interacted with a distressed mother who lost her 7-year-old son to post Covid complications. Like Eva, she too was displeased with the state’s apathy in handling the pandemic. Slamming the state government’s hypocrisy, the kin of the young boy said that he died of some apparent post covid complications, which they weren’t aware of and neither were the hospitals aware or equipped to treat it.

Grieving mother of a deceased 7-year-old says Pinarayi Vijayan govt not spreading enough awareness

The grieving mother of the 7-year-old confirmed to the media house that despite going to numerous hospitals, only the medical college in Trivandrum could diagnose that her son was suffering from MIS-C. She added that they asked the hospital in Cherthala, where her son was initially admitted, to provide them with an ambulance to take the ailing boy to Trivandrum. However, the hospital refused. They told the patient’s kin that their ambulances did not have permission to travel up to Trivandrum.

She recollected that they ultimately hired a private car to take the child to Trivandrum. The doctor’s there conducted various blood tests on the child before confirming that he was suffering from MIS-C, a post covid complication usually found in children. They informed the kin that the condition of the child was critical. They said that they could have helped the child had they brought him to the hospital two days earlier.

She recollected how on the same day, her child’s internal organs started drying. He was shifted to the ICU. A day later he was operated upon but he succumbed to the disease. While narrating the harrowing ordeal, the mother of the deceased 7-year-old child expressed concerns regarding the lack of Covid awareness in the state hailed as the ‘Kerala model‘.

The kins have now been standing outside the hospital with posters trying to spread awareness about the diseases, which she claimed no one in the state knows about. They protested that the government has not been doing enough. They have not conducted enough awareness campaigns here in the state regarding the disease. Even the hospitals also have no knowledge about it. “We took our son to Kottayam Medical college. If they had known about this post Covid complication, they could have treated my son better and saved him”, rued the father of the 7-year-old deceased child.

He added that later he learnt from newspapers that this particular post-Covid infection in children has been happening for the last 1.5 years. “Despite this being such a serious issue nobody is talking about it”, said the enraged parents, adding that the state government should spread awareness about such a severe infection, which has taken the lives of 4 children in the state so far.

Failed Kerala Model

While the rest of the country has managed to control the pandemic, Kerala, hailed for its Covid-19 management, often termed as Kerala model, continues to remain unhinged in terms of new cases. To put things in perspective, Kerala contributes to almost 70% of new infections while it is home to just 3% of India’s total population. Kerala’s average positivity ratio, the rate of positive cases for every 100 tested, stands at 18.5%.

At present, while the most populous state of Uttar Pradesh has been reporting less than 50 cases a day, Kerala has been reporting close to 30,000 cases from the last five days. Recently, media houses like Reuters tried to whitewash the mismanagement and got heavily criticized over the social media platforms.

Instinctively, when the cases are so high, state governments should increase testing so that the infections can be traced and curbed. But Kerala has actually reduced testing. No test, no cases, seems to be the new mantra in the Kerala government. A report in The Hindu Businessline from August 23 states that tests carried out in Kerala had come down by nearly a third in past two weeks.

Hinduphobia: Rahul Gandhi wishes Sumit Antil for the gold in Tokyo Paralympics, netizens point out he has cropped out an important detail

Senior Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday took to Twitter to congratulate para athlete Sumit Antil for winning gold medal at the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics in javelin throw.

Except, he seems to have cropped out the ‘Om’ from the chain Antil is wearing. This comes on a day he shared fake ‘hate crime’ clip to further the ‘Dara Hua Musalman’ narrative. Rahul Gandhi also likes to identify himself as ‘Janeudhari Brahmin’ of the Kaul Dattatreya Gotra and also as a Shiv Bhakt.

Netizens, however, were quick to point out that the actual image of Antil showed him wearing the ‘Om’ pendant in his chain.

Many shared the full image which was shared by Sports Authority of India which had the ‘Om’ pendant very visible.

People pointed out that Rahul Gandhi may exclude the ‘Om’ from the picture, but he will not be able to take Hinduism out of the athletes.

Some even pointed out that perhaps Rahul Gandhi wants to put out a message that ‘secularism’ is under threat and hence cropped the ‘Om’.

On August 25, Delhi Study Group (DSG), an NGO from Delhi, completed its mission to procure pure river and ocean water from 115 nations spread across seven continents. The collected water will be poured into the main sanctum of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Dr Vijay Jolly, Ex-Delhi BJP MLA and President of DSG, said, “When people could not travel from one nation to another in corona times, we with blessings of Bhagwan Ram, succeeded in our historical mission of faith and belief.”

The noble mission of collecting water from across the world was commenced a year ago. While talking to OpIndia, Dr Jolly said that he drew the inspiration for the mission from BJP Leader L.K. Advani, Late VHP International President Ashok Singhal & Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He further added, “Maryada Purushottam Lord Shree Ram was not only revered by citizens of Ayodhya but by millions of worshippers across the world in modern times.”

When he appealed to Ram Bhakts around the world to join him in the mission, the first to respond was Ashish Brahmbhatt from Scotland, followed by Taj Mohammed from Tajikistan. The mission drew the attention of Ram Bhakts across religious lines. Water from each nation was carefully packed and sealed in copper metal pots. When the pots reached India, they were marked with a coloured sticker with the name and flag of the respective nation at Harki Pauri, Haridwar.

Bhavya Ram Mandir, Ayodhya

In November 2019, the Supreme Court of India allowed the construction of Bhavya Ram Mandir on the disputed land. An alternate piece of land was allotted to the Muslim party in the case where a mosque is being constructed. The Government of India formulated a Trust led by Champat Rai to manage the construction of the Mandir.

In August 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed Bhumi Poojan for the construction of the temple. The Bhavya Mandir is expected to open for devotees by December 2023. The ground floor of the main temple, including the five mandapas and the garbhagriha, is targeted to be completed by the end of 2023. The laying of stone on the first floor of the temple will also be completed by then. Once the garbhagriha is ready, the idols Ram Lalla deity, which stayed under a tent for decades, will be shifted to the main temple from its current temporary location.

After the establishment of the idol, the temple is expected to be opened for devotees for darshan. However, the construction activities will continue, like carving on the stones and constructing the rest of the temple complex.

Tokyo Paralympics: Sumit Antil wins gold for India in javelin throw, breaks his own world record twice

Bagging yet another accolade at Tokyo Paralympics, para-athlete Sumit Antil clinched gold in the javelin (Sport Class F64) with a world record throw of 68.55 metres.

In a startling performance, Sumit Antil first set a world record with a 66.95m throw. He then broke his own record with a 68.08m throw in his second attempt. After that, Antil broke that record yet again with a throw of 68.55m in the 5th attempt, winning the gold medal.

Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter to congratulate the player for his win and record. “Our athletes continue to shine at the #Paralympics! The nation is proud of Sumit Antil’s record-breaking performance in the Paralympics. Congratulations Sumit for winning the prestigious Gold medal. Wishing you all the best for the future,” Tweeted PM Modi.

Indian para javelin thrower Sumit Antil who is now an inspiration for many, was a wrestler before he met with an accident in 2015. This tragic accident led to the amputation of his leg crushing his dreams of becoming a wrestler.

However, not letting this accident crush his spirits, Antil met Virender Dhankar, the 2018 Asian Games silver medallist in shot put and asked him to guide him.

Dhankar then took him to AFI’s para-athletes’ javelin coach Naval Singh who advised Antil to take up javelin. And from there began Antil’s journey leading him to bag a gold in Tokyo Paralympics.

India also bagged a silver and a bronze medal in javelin class F45 on Monday morning.

A youth named Fardeel Faruqui has been booked by the Lasudia police, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, under IPC sections 354, 354 (D) and 3/5 of the MP Religious Freedom Act 2021 and 67-A of the IT Act, over allegations of blackmailing, assault, forced conversion and outraging the modesty of a woman by taking her nude video. As reported by Hindi daily Nai Dunia, Faruqui befriended the victim by asking her to be her brother. He also obtained her nude videos and later tried to use them to force her to convert to Islam, the victim has alleged.

According to the report, the accused had hacked the victims’ mother’s WhatsApp account to obtain personal information. He posted some objectionable pictures of the victim on Instagram and threatened her to release more if she did not give in to his demands of adopting Islam and marrying him.

Madhya Pradesh police said accused hacked victim’s mother WhatsApp and changed the number

Town Inspector (TI) Indramani Patel said that in the year 2017, the victim and the accused, Fardeel Faruqui, the son of one Sohrab Faruqui, a resident of Dhar Road (in front of Timber Market), studied together in class eight in a reputed school located in Indore’s Vijay Nagar area.

Fardeel had initially offered himself as a brother in order to build a relationship with the girl. After class nine, Fardeel left the school but continued to be a contact with the victim through social media. During this time, Fardeel obtained the victim’s mother’s WhatsApp login and OTP, changed the number, and hacked the account. In June 2020, when the victim’s father threatened to lodge a complaint against Fardeel, the latter’s uncle Amjad forced Fardeel to issue an apology.

In January this year, the accused once against approached the victim through a friend. He created an Instagram account and shared the details of the said account with the victim.

The victim told the police that Fardeel had invited her to a cafe located in sector 78, for his birthday in the month of July 2021. There he allegedly forced himself on the victim and clicked objectionable pictures and videos. After a few days, Fardeel started blackmailing the girl with these images. He threatened her to leak the images and videos on social media if she did not convert to Islam and marry him, she said. When she rejected his demands, the accused posted a few pictures and videos of Instagram. He started defaming the victim in front of their friends by using these images.

Accused Fardeel Faruqui forced victim to strip and pose nude on a video call

The girl was so embarrassed and petrified, that she locked herself up in her house. On August 15, Fardeel called up the victim and forced her to strip and pose nude on a video call. When the victim refused, the accused reportedly threatened her to release some other obscene pictures and videos of hers, which he claimed were in his possession.

He again pressurised the victim to meet him on August 21, saying that is she did not, he would leak the videos on social media. Police have now registered a complaint and investigation is currently underway.

MP: Altmash Khan, Imran Ansari and two others arrested for planning to fire at Hindu organization rally to incite riots over bangle seller incident

Madhya Pradesh police have arrested four persons named Altamash Khan, Imran Ansari, Javed Khan and Sayyed Irfan for conspiring to incite communal riots by firing bullets at rallies organized by Hindu organizations.

Reportedly, the four had put out inflammatory messages on social media to protest against the Muslim bangle seller incident that took place in Indore last week. As per a Tribune report, the MP government has found evidence that one of the men arrested has links with Pakistan through social media.

While interacting with media, MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra informed, “As per the evidence found (during the investigation), one of the arrested persons, Altamash Khan, who staged a protest at a police station (in Indore) after the bangle seller incident, has links with Pakistan through Whatsapp and Facebook.”

Mishra also informed that the mastermind Altamash Khan is associated with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) headed by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. As per reports, the arrested group was planning to fire bullets at the Hindu rallies and thus trigger riots in the entire area.

The Home Minister further said that several objectionable materials, including videos and audios, were found in the possession of Khan. There were plans to release these videos gradually, he said.

“The objectionable material found with Khan was enough to disturb the peace in the area. Interrogation of these four arrested people is underway,” said Mishra further.

Altamash Khan’s conspiracy

SP Rajesh Raghuvanshi caught hold of Khan after he circulated a fake message alleging that Bhim Army was to hold a protest against the Hindu organization Jagran Manch. Police also recovered deleted messages from Khan which led them to the three other accused in the case.

Khan also had created a Whatsapp group named ‘Bhagwa Love Trap’ in counter to ‘Love Jihad’ in which he issued advice for Muslim girls to wear burqa and not use mobiles.

The four arrested, all in the age of 20 to 30 years are said to be inspired by radical ideology.

As per the police, the accused spread inflammatory messages on social media with the intention to trigger communal riots. They wanted to create discontent among people over some recent incidents in the city to instigate violence.

The four have been booked under Section 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion) along with other sections of the Indian Penal Code. The police may also invoke the NSA against the arrested persons.

Bangle seller held for harassing minor girl

Tasleem Ali, a 25-year-old bangle seller was arrested by Indore police for inappropriately touching and harassing a 13-year-old girl. He was also found to be carrying Aadhar cards under different names.

A video in which Ali was seen getting beaten by a group of men in the Govind Nagar area after harassing the girl went viral on social media. The video was used by the left ecosystem to allege communal hate crime. The persons who had thrashed the bangle sellers were booked by the police too.

Making use of this incident, Altamash Khan along with associates had reportedly planned to incite communal riots.

‘Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murare’ chants fill Lal Chowk in Kashmir as Hindus take out procession on Krishna Janmashtami: Watch

Video of celebration of Krishna Janmashtami from Lal Chowk area of Jammu & Kashmir has gone viral on Twitter. The video was shared by Prafulla Ketkar, Editor of Organiser Weekly.

In the video, one can see people celebrating and singing hymns for Lord Krishna, who was born on this day as per Hindu calendar.

Here are some more visuals of the spectacular ‘Shobha Yatra’.

Earlier this month, the Lal Chowk was also lit up for the Independence Day celebrations. This, too, happened for first time in years. In August 2019, the Indian government abrogated Article 370, which gave the special state status to the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir.

Devotees can be seen dancing and rejoicing on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.

Did you know? Three generations of Nehru-Gandhi dynasty has visited Babur’s tomb in Afghanistan

Mughal Emperor Babur is again in the news after Hotstar launched its propaganda effort to whitewash his genocidal inclinations in a web series titled ‘The Empire’. ‘The Empire’ presents a very rosy portrait of the genocidal maniac who took great joy in committing mass slaughter further his ideology.

But there is one aspect of Babur that has remained rather ignored yet. The ruling dynasty of the Congress party appears to have some sort of fascination with the Mughal Emperor. In fact, his tomb has been visited by three generations of rulers from the dynasty. Jawaharlal Nehru visited Babur’s tomb in Afghanistan in 1959, Indira Gandhi in 1968 and Rahul Gandhi in 2005.

Indira Gandhi even paid respect to the tomb. Natwar Singh, former External Affairs Minister and a bureaucrat at the time, wrote in his autobiography, “The Prime Minister of India stood there, with head slightly bowed, paying her homage. I was a couple of feet behind her. It was a moment to cherish, recall and remember. At that moment the centuries seemed to blend and blur.”

He added, “After a minute she stepped back and said, ‘We have had our brush with history’. I said, ‘I have had two.’ ‘What do you mean?’ ‘To pay one’s respects to Babur was itself an occasion,’ I said, ‘but to do so in the company of Indira Gandhi was the rarest of privileges’.”

In 2005, Rahul Gandhi accompanied Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the visit of Afghanistan. Rahul Gandhi accompanied Singh everywhere, including at the meeting with then Afghan president Hamid Karzai and a visit to Babur’s tomb.

The Organiser, affiliated to the RSS, has often taken an objection for paying obeisance to the Mughal dynasty. In an article on its platform in 2019, it was stated, “Ever wondered why each one of the scions of the Gandhi family never failed to pay obeisance to the Mughal emperor Babar at his far away tomb in Kabul, Afghanistan? Ever wondered why the newly-minted janeu dhari Shiv bhakt never gave a damn about visiting the grave of a Hindu King that’s lying there a few metres away?”

The article further goes on to ask, “It is time to expose Rahul Gandhi aka janeu dhari Shiv Bhakt. Why must they pay obeisance to the murderer of lakhs of Hindus and plunderer of our temples? Why must, even today, Zaheeruddin Babur, the destroyer of Sri Ram temple in Ayodhya, continue to beckon and inspire the members of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty?”

A few days earlier, Hotstar rejected claims that ‘The Empire’ whitewashes the history of the genocidal tyrant. Babur also happened to have rather unconventional sexual inclinations, bordering on extremely problematic and often crossing the boundaries.

Babur’s tomb is situated at the Gardens of Babur, located in Kabul, Afghanistan. It was heavily damaged in the Afghan Civil War between 1992-96 before a restoration effort was launched by the Afghan Ministry.

Kerala: Bishop of Syro-Malabar Church warns Christians against groups trying to trap young girls, had earlier highlighted Love Jihad cases

0

The bishop of Pala diocese of the Syro-Malabar Church issued a circular on Saturday to warn Christian families against various ‘groups’ trying to trap young girls from their community.

As per a report in Times of India, Bishop Mar Joseph Kallarangatt of the Pala diocese, in his circular elaborated on how certain people are laying traps to befriend young girls of the local community through phone calls. “You must be aware of the various sections and groups that have been trying to trap our female children with various tactics,” read the opening lines of the letter.

Explaining the modus operandi, the bishop in the circular stated that the alleged callers first get in touch with local representatives or community leaders. Introducing themselves as a former priest from the parish, they seek a way to get the contact information of local young girls. This is done under the pretext of getting in touch with them for some academic work such as paper presentations in a foreign country.

“If the receiver expresses any doubt about the voice of the caller, the answer would be that he has just returned from abroad and the difference in voice was because of the weather in the foreign country. They would first pretend to be talking on subjects like honesty and about mother-daughter relationships,” explained bishop in the letter.

“But in a while, the topic and the style of language would change to get the information they want. And this kind of trap in various forms has now become common,” the circular read further.

Divulging further information on the matter, Fr Joseph Thadathil, vicar general of the Pala diocese informed that this group specifically seeks contacts of girls aged 16-22.

He said that multiple such incidents have been reported in the past three-four months and if the problem persists, they will demand a probe. Reportedly, many girls underwent mental trauma.

“It is not sure whether the intention is religious, drugs or sex,” said the vicar-general.

‘Increase in Love Jihad cases’

While the bishops alerted the families discreetly this time around, the Syro-Malabar Church has been vocal about the increase in ‘Love Jihad’ cases in Kerala.

Kerala Catholic Bishops Council (KCBC), has also slammed the State and Union Government for turning a blind eye to the issue, and not conducting a proper probe into the case of “missing women and children”.

In an official communique released last year by the Media Commission of the Syro Malabar Church, the Synod of the Church had said that half of the 21 women who joined the Islamic State from Kerala hailed from the Christian community.

“The menacing rise of Love Jihad stands to imperil the communal harmony and peace in Kerala. It is a fact that Christian girls are being targeted by the love jihad in the state,” the Synod stated explicitly in the press release.

Reportedly, the Pala diocese had come down heavily on the rise of love jihad cases just a few months ago.

Agra: Girl forced into Nikah after abduction and conversion, allege her parents, police forms teams to bring her back

A girl was allegedly abducted, forced to convert to Islam and married off to one youth named Imran Khan, in Agra, her parents have alleged. Columnist Vikas Sarwaswat took to Twitter today to share the screenshot of a report on the crime published by a Hindi daily on Twitter.

Soon after the columnist shared the news, Agra police responded. It said that a case has been registered in the matter and Shamshabad police have formed teams and begun searching for the victim.

According to reports, soon after the girl went missing on August 5, her relatives approached the Shamshabad police to file a missing complaint. Alleging police apathy, the father of the girl, however, claimed that the police registered the complaint only on August 9.

Despite the complaint being registered, the Shamshabad police put in no effort to locate the girl, until the distressed father of the victim, approached the IG and SSP office on Sunday, August 29. Soon after the intervention of the higher authorities, the Shamshabad police plunged into action and formed teams and began probing the case.

The father of the missing girl claimed that he has learnt from sources, that man named Imran Khan kidnapped his daughter. With the help of his relatives, Imran, thereafter, forced her to convert to Islam and married her. Imran Khan’s relatives have also reportedly, threatened to kill the victim’s father.
