Meet Noah Berlatsky: The Rutgers University Press published author working hard to normalise pedophilia

The Rutgers University Press in 2017 published a rather unusual book. The book, titled ‘Wonder Woman’, revolved around ‘Bondage and Feminism’ in the comics created by William Moulton Marston. Four years later, the author of the book, Noah Berlatsky is involved in a pedophilia apologia controversy.

It has come to the fore that Noah Berlatsky is the Communications Director of an organisation that engages in the normalisation of pedophilia. The name of the organisation is the Prostasia Foundation and it does appear to endorse extremely problematic opinions.

Berlatsky’s Twitter bio

Prostasia calls pedophiles ‘minor attracted persons’ or MAPs, which is an undisguised attempt to rebrand pedophilia as a sexual orientation such as homosexuality. In the past, it has condemned Tumblr removing “MAPs’ and allies’ blogs”. In a post on its website, Prostasia went on to claim that removing such content would harm children.

The post claimed, “An entire community at the “ground zero” of child sexual abuse prevention is being censored, and it’s children who will ultimately suffer the most.” The foundation also claims that “stigma” against pedophilia is a consequence of “alt-right conspiracy theorists” and “sexual conservatives”.

Regarding censorship of “MAP” content, Prostasia opined, “In combination, this has left the support professionals who work with non-offending MAPs at a disadvantage, and has largely reduced spaces for public online discussion about minor-attraction to the echo chamber of alt-right conspiracy theorists and sexual conservatives, who wield the stigma around pedophilia as a potent weapon to undermine the progress of the LGBT movement, the anti-fascist movement, and their other political enemies.”

The group also makes a series of claims without any sound evidence. It said, “What about pedophiles who speak out against CSA? If this sounds unlikely, that may be because of the common but false assumption that all pedophiles abuse children, and that all child abusers are pedophiles. But in reality most CSA is committed by those who are primarily sexually attracted to adults, and conversely many of those who are sexually attracted to minors choose never to act on that attraction.”

Prostasia also spoke in favour of a TedTalk by mental health professional Mirjam Heine where she made a series of problematic comments in her effort to normalise pedophilia. Heine said during the talk, “We shouldn’t increase the suffering of paedophiles by excluding them, by blaming and mocking them. By doing that, we increase their isolation and we increase the chance of child sexual abuse.”

Posts on Prostasia forum also speak in favour of ‘liberating’ “MAPs”.

Consequently, several troubling tweets made by Noah Berlatsky have also gone viral on Twitter. Subsequently, he has made his account on the platform private.

Tweets of Noah Berlatsky go viral

In one tweet, Berlatsky can be seen declaring that pedophiles are a “stigmatised” group.

The author also has issues with the fact that pedophiles are hated.

In another tweet, he declared that sex offender registries are “racist”.

Noah Berlatsky, in the past, has also compared prostituted women and children to Walmart customers.

Source: Twitter

Not so surprisingly, an individual who feels angered by the fact that pedophiles are hated also believes parents are an “oppressive class” like rich people and White people and also that abuse is “endemic” to a parents-child relationship.

Source: Twitter

Berlatsky has also written an article in 2016 where he claimed that the biggest threat “child sex workers” face is from the police. “Child sex workers” is an extremely problematic terms which assumed that children are capable of giving consent for sex which is a very dangerous claim to make.

It is also a disgusting attempt to normalise the phenomenon. The claim that they face the gravest threat from the police and not those who oppress them is blatant disregard for their safety.

There is a comprehensive attempt underway in the West to normalise pedophilia. A significant section of psychologists has been arguing that pedophilia is a sexual orientation at par with homosexuality. Things have reached such dire straits that self-confessed pedophiles are now writing articles on mainstream media accusing others of being monsters.

A new fad is also gaining momentum simultaneously that calls itself ‘Virtuous pedophiles‘. These are pedophiles who claim they have never touched a child inappropriately but that is a very dubious claim to make. Documentaries have also been made in an attempt to portray pedophiles in better light.

The rebranding of pedophiles as “minor attracted persons is also part of the same disturbing effort.

Congress takes off where Alt News left: Rahul Gandhi peddles fake ‘hate crime’ to further ‘Dara Hua Musalman’ narrative

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today posted a tweet in which he attacked the central government, insinuating that the Centre has ‘sold’ Article 15 and 25 of the Indian Constitution.

The Gandhi scion shared a montage in his tweet which included snippets from various incidents across the country to imply that discrimination against Muslims has risen in the country.

Coincidentally or not, Rahul Gandhi chose to tweet this on Krishna Janmashtami as the Hindu festive season takes off.

Article 15 of the Indian constitution proscribes against discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth while the Article 25 of the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion to all persons in India. It provides that all persons in India, subject to public order, morality, health, and other provisions: Are equally entitled to freedom of conscience, and have the right to freely profess, practice and propagate religion.

However, the above montage also included a clip of the recent incident from Ghaziabad where one elderly Muslim man had claimed he was forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and beaten up by a mob. Later, however, investigation revealed he had faked the ‘hate crime’ and was beaten up by his co-religionists only over alleged wrong effects of one ‘taveez’ (amulet) he prepared as an occultist.

Source: Twitter

So-called fact-checker, Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of propaganda outlet Alt News, was shockingly one of the first to share the video of the elderly man being beaten up. The audio in the clip was muted and it was alleged that he was forced to chant Jai Shri Ram and when he refused, he was beaten up and his beard cut off.

Facebook live video by Umed Idris and muted video of Mohammed Zubair used by ‘liberals’ to communalise a petty fight to defame ‘Jai Shri Ram’

The Loni fake hate crime incident pertains to a Facebook live conducted by one Umred Idris, that had got the ball rolling for the so-called secular liberals who lapped up the video to peddle their favourite ‘Dara Hua Musalman’ narrative. Idris appeared alongside Ghaziabad assault victim Abdul Samad, whose video of being thrashed by 4-5 youth had gone viral on the internet. In his video, Idris tried to give the incident of personal animosity a “communal colour” by making the victim of assault tell that he was forced to chant Jai Shri Ram.

On June 14, Alt News co-founder Muhammed Zubair first uploaded a muted video (which now stands deleted) of the incident where an elderly Muslim man was being assaulted by 4 to 5 men. Zubair tweeted that the man was threatened at gunpoint, beaten, assaulted and the perpetrators forcefully chopped off his beard.

Soon after, Zubair posted (now deleted) the Facebook live video done by SP leader Idrisi with photos of SP leader Akhilesh Yadav hanging on the wall.

These two videos activated the entire left lobby giving the incident a ‘communal colour’ after almost 10 days of the assault. Publications like The Wire, TheQuint, Indian Express published reports on the basis of the victim’s statement in the Facebook live video, thereby, defaming the Hindu religious slogan ‘Jai Shri Ram.’

The left-leaning brigade rushed to communalise the incident of personal animosity to defame the ‘Jai Shri Ram’ chant which is held sacred by Hindus. The video and the narrative soon went viral on social media, posing a threat to the law and order in the state.

Ghaziabad Police issues clarification after the case is brazenly communalised on social media

However, it was later proved that the allegations of hate crime was wrong. The details of the incident was put out by Ghaziabad Police, who filed FIRs against fake news peddlers for giving a communal spin to an incident of personal animosity.

In a tweet, Ghaziabad police informed that three accused had been arrested in the case. According to the police, the incident took place about 10 days ago on June 5, 2021. The victim Abdul Samad Saifi had travelled to the Loni border from Bulandshahr, where he was escorted to the house of accused Parvesh Gujjar in Banthala in Loni. After some time, the co-accused, namely, Kallu, Poli, Arif, Adil aka Mushahid arrived at Parvesh’s house and began thrashing the victim.

The victim Saifi sold amulets for a living. According to the police, the accused were miffed after the amulet proved harmful to them. Unlike what the victim had alleged, the police said that he knew the culprits for a long time. Reportedly, Saifi had sold his amulets to several people in the village through the accused. The police had initially arrested Parvesh while Adil and Kallu were nabbed on Monday (June 14). A case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The cops assured that the other culprits would soon be arrested.

Alt News and Congress

Alt News has often been paraded by Congress as ‘independent’ fact-checker, especially after Alt News came to their rescue to give a clean chit over the toolkit. Not surprising as Alt News has been at the forefront of either watering down crimes committed by radical Islamists or using ‘fact-checking’ as tool for propaganda. No wonder Congress leader Rahul Gandhi ended up choosing the video that was first shared by Alt News’ Mohammed Zubair for a propaganda.

A week after farmer commits suicide outside Maharashtra Mantralaya, Shiv Sena pontificates on farmers

More than a week after a 40-year-old distressed farmer committed suicide by consuming poison outside the Maharashtra Mantralaya, the ruling Shiv Sena party held forth on the treatment meted out by Haryana police to rampaging farmers on August 28.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut condemned the lathi charge carried out by Haryana police on riotous protesters on Sunday and criticised the Centre for not paying heed to farmers’ demands.

In his broadsides against the central government, Raut even went on to equate the corrective action taken by police against the protesters with the repressive measures adopted by the Islamist group Taliban.

“Attack on farmers is a shameful incident for the nation. This is a kind of Talibani mentality. How can this government say it is for the poor and for the farmers? It doesn’t even hear farmers’ ‘Mann ki Baat’,” news agency ANI quoted Raut saying.

Haryana Police lathi charges rampaging protesters in Karnal

The pontification from the Shiv Sena leader came hot on the heels of baton charge conducted by Haryana Police on farmers who had disrupted the traffic movement on a highway leading to Karnal in protest against a BJP meeting. Several dignitaries, including Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, state BJP president Om Prakash Dhankar and other senior leaders of the party were present at the meeting.

While the farmer leaders accused the police of using disproportionate force against the protesters, several videos were shared online where rabble-rousers could be seen wielding what seemed like an axes and charging at the police personnel. In a tweet, BJP leader Tajinder Singh Bagga said the lathi charge was a retaliatory action by the police after they were attacked by stones and other sharp weapons by workers of Rakesh Tikait’s party.

Farmer in Maharashtra commits suicide outside Mantralaya after he was denied a meeting with CM Uddhav Thackeray

Nevertheless, Raut assumed the moral high horse and proceeded to lecture the Centre on how they should be treating frenzied protesters bent on breaking barricades, just days after a farmer in Maharashtra took the extreme decision of giving up his life because the administration turned a blind eye to his grievances.

According to reports, Jadhav’s land in Pune was captured by some people. He had filed a complaint about the matter at the nearest police station. But the police station there did not take any action. Jadhav then reached Mantralaya so that his matter would be heard.

On August 20, the deceased, identified as Subash Jadhav, had come to seek an audience with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil in Mantralaya over a land dispute case but was not allowed inside as the entry is restricted due to the COVID-19 norms.

After being denied a meeting, Jadhav consumed poison outside the Mantralaya and died during treatment at a hospital two days later, on Sunday, August 22.

Security personnel at Taj Mahal stop man dressed as Krishna from entering premises: Report

On August 28, the security personnel stationed at the 17th-century monument Taj Mahal reportedly denied entry to a man dressed as Lord Krishna to celebrate Janmashtami inside the premises. As per a report in Swarajya mag, while he was sent away by the security personnel, the crowd present at the premises reportedly cheered him and praised him when he played the flute.

The incident was reported on Saturday, 28 August.

The officials of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) said in a statement that as per the regulations, anyone who is carrying flags, banners, posters or trying for self-promotion on the premises are not allowed to enter. On several occasions, the security personnel at Taj Mahal have stopped people as they were wearing dupattas with Shri Ram written on them, which led to controversies.

Visitors rush at Taj Mahal

As it is a long weekend because of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on Monday, a large crowd visited the Taj Mahal. Swarajya Magazine quoted a tourist guide Ved Gautam who said they were expecting a good turnout on the weekend.

Previous controversies around Taj Mahal

In January 2021, some youth from Hindu Jagran Manch visited the 17th-century mausoleum and waved saffron flags. Four of them were arrested by the security personnel. The incident had stirred up a controversy. In 2018, Congress members had breached security at the Taj Mahal and held a protest against PM Modi.

OpIndia reached out to Agra Police to learn more about the incident. We will update the story once we get a reply.

‘Literacy 100%, common sense 0’: Olympian Sreejesh PR expresses pain over garbage, including medical waste, littered in Kerala village

Indian hockey goalkeeper Sreejesh PR took to Twitter on Monday expressing displeasure against the people of his village for littering a road named after him.

Sreejesh sharing images of the litter in his Twitter post, said, “Literacy 100% common sense 0, This is the way people of my village decorated the road named after me. Kunnathunadu/Kizhakkambalam village officers have to look at this issue & take a decision.”

One can even see medical waste lying exposed on a green patch which can prove to be hazardous. Sreejesh taking a jibe at the ‘literacy rate’ of Kerala hinted that it does not guarantee common sense. He also urged the concerned authorities to take action. The pictures were of the street in his village in Kerala named after him.

Responding to his tweet, several users shared images of their neighbourhood from different districts of Kerala highlighting the same.

One user shared an image of garbage piled up on a road near a hospital in the Palakkad district.

Another user shared how plastics are collected from homes and eventually dumped in an auditorium in the Kottayam district.

Sreejesh PR was part of the Indian hockey team bagged that a bronze medal at the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics 2020. Sreejesh was also applauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a meet with the Tokyo-returned athletes. “It is difficult to be a goalkeeper. Unlike cricket, in hockey, nobody knows who the goalkeeper is as he is always behind the gears. But your role is very important,” had remarked PM Modi.

‘The Kerala Model’

Much is being talked about the ‘100% literate state’ off late, from handling of Covid to shooing industrialists. The ‘Kerala Model’ has come under the fire for reporting nearly 70% of new Covid-19 cases months after the second wave of the pandemic subsided in the country.

Kerala recorded over 1.5 lakh new Covid-19 cases in just five days. This is after reducing testing in the state.

Chhattisgarh: Mob attacks Pastor’s house, beats him up and warns to stop conversion of tribals into Christianity

A mob of over 100 allegedly attacked a pastor and his family on Sunday in a remote village of Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district in protest of the rampant conversion attempts. As per a police official, the mob even raised slogans against religious conversions carried out in tribal areas by groups of Christian missionaries.

The incident reportedly took place at around 11 am on Sunday, 29 August, when the mob barged into the home of pastor Kawalsingh Paraste (25), when a prayer was underway. Reports suggest that Paraste’s home was also vandalized and his family manhandled.

Kabirdham Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg informed, “As per the preliminary information, a crowd of over 100 people stormed into his house and allegedly damaged articles of worship and household items, and tore scriptures.”

“They allegedly beat up Paraste, manhandled his family members and raised slogans to stop religious conversions,” he added further.

Garg additionally informed that a team of police rushed to the spot as soon as they were alerted about the attack. “A case is being lodged in the matter and further action will be taken accordingly,” said Garg.

‘Very dangerous trend’: Alleges Christian Forum

Reacting to the incident, the president of Chhattisgarh’s Christian Forum, Arun Pannalal claimed, “This is a very dangerous trend, which has become prevalent in the state.”

Pannalal accused the police and state government of being a mere spectator to these attacks and not taking any concrete steps to curb the attacks.

“In the last 15 days, at least 10 such attacks allegedly occurred at our religious places across the state, but in none of the cases did the police take any action. We just want justice, however, repeated occurrence of such incidents suggest that the government has been favouring those who are involved in vandalism,” alleged Pannalal.

Pannalal has also threatened to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court submitting all evidence of vandalism of churches. He also said that the PIL will explicitly mention the police’s alleged inaction in such cases.

Viral video causes trouble for pastor in Chandigarh

Recently, a video had surfaced from Punjab where the missionary pastor Bajinder was seen using a child to spread superstition and fool people. NCPCR has asked Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh to initiate action against ‘Prophet Bajinder Singh’ for using a minor boy for his superstitious conversion propaganda. The child was coerced by Bajinder to say to the public that his speech impaired sister suddenly started talking due to ‘miracle’ by Yeshu.

Failed Kerala Model

Kerala’s Covid-19 management, often termed as Kerala model, was initially lauded by media and liberal sections of the society over ‘controlling the pandemic’. In fact, some international media houses had declared as early as February and March 2020 that Kerala has won over the pandemic. However, after the initial chest-thumping as the best Covid-19 managing state, the Kerala model fell like a house of cards, and the state started to appear in the top contributors of Covid-19 cases.

While the rest of the country has managed to control the pandemic, Kerala continues to remain unhinged in terms of new cases. To put things in perspective, Kerala contributes to almost 70% of new infections while it is is home to just 3% of India’s total population. Kerala’s average positivity ratio, the rate of positive cases for every 100 tested, stands at 18.5%.

At present, while the most populous state of Uttar Pradesh has been reporting less than 50 cases a day, Kerala has been reporting close to 30,000 cases from the last five days. Recently, media houses like Reuters tried to whitewash the mismanagement and got heavily criticized over the social media platforms.

Instinctively, when the cases are so high, state governments should increase testing so that the infections can be traced and curbed. But Kerala, has actually reduced testing. No test, no cases, seems to be the new mantra in Kerala government. A report in The Hindu Businessline from August 23 states that tests carried out in Kerala had come down by nearly a third in past two weeks.

What is likely to be an unfortunate result of Kerala government’s utter failure to curb the pandemic is that the upcoming Hindu festivals may end up losing its sheen as other state governments will be under pressure to ensure Kerala model is not repeated. Hindus, who have not celebrated festivals in past 18 months owing to the pandemic, are looking forward to the festivities. However, thanks to Kerala model of governance, Hindus may again be forced to have lack lustre festive season.

Exclusive: Bengal Home Ministry accepts complaint against Tamal Bhattacharya on suspicions of association with Taliban

On August 29, a complaint was filed with the Principal Secretary of West Bengal against Afghanistan evacuee Tamal Bhattacharya for his pro-Taliban remarks. Tamal, who had earlier pleaded with the Indian govt to rescue him from Afghanistan, heaved praise on the radical Islamist group on his safe return to India.

The complaint was filed by one Suraj Singh, a BJP member from Kolkata. Singh had requested the Principal Secretary of West Bengal to take action against Tamal. “When he was stuck In Afghanistan, he was pleading to Indian government for evacuation citing the horrifying and Inhuman atrocities by Taliban Terrorists. But suddenly, after coming back to home, his remark on Taliban changed and this change of perception Is so distressing that it could be alarming for our domestic security,” the complaint read.

Singh pointed out how Tamal had projected the radical Islamist organisation as ‘humble people.’ He stated, “Tamal said in his interview that Taliban terrorists helped him, fed him with food, entertained him and played cricket in airport. At these trying times of crisis, where the entire world is struggling to come to terms to combat terrorism and on the top of that people like Tamal Bhattacharya portraying ‘one of the deadliest Jihaadl Terrorist Taliban group’ to be kind and helpful.”

Complaint filed via email by Suraj Kumar Singh

The BJP member further emphasised, “It really sounds very strange to have come across such a comment and claim of Bhattacharya regarding generosity of Taliban terrorists.” Suraj Singh reiterated that Tamal Bhattacharya could be a ‘Taliban mole’, who has been sent to India to distort the peace and harmony in the country. While stating that the Afghanistan evacuee can pose threat to country’s domestic security, Singh requested the West Bengal Principal Secretary to initiate an inquiry into the matter. He added that Tamal must be booked under Indian Penal Code Sections 121, 121A, 124A and Official Secrets Act of 1923.

While speaking to OpIndia,Suraj Singh said, “Such soft corner for Taliban raises the questions of his association with Taliban. It is possible that a communist like Tamal may have a soft corner for the Taliban but speaking such high praises of Talibs is highly problematic and I believe it can be a threat to national security.” In another telephonic conversation on September 7, he conceded that the Principal Secretary of West Bengal did not respond to his complaint.

Multiple people filed complaint against Tamal Bhattacharya

It must be mentioned that a petition was earlier filed with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs by one Raj Chowdhury. After having found Tamal Bhattacharya’s picture with the Talibs, Chowdhury had filed another petition with the with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.  In a tweet, he said, “I had also filed one written grievance to Ministry of IT, Electronics against Tamal Bhattacharya who can be seen with Talibani Terrorists with gun AK47 and he is posing proudly with the terrorists. The Ministry of IT and Electronics has accepted this plea too for consideration.

Grievance filed

The case of Tamal Bhattacharya

Tamal, a 34-year-old resident of Nimta in the North Dum Dum area, was stranded in Afghanistan ever since the Taliban took control of the country on August 15-16. He had been working as a physics and chemistry teacher at an army school (Kardan International school) in Kabul since March this year. A mechanical engineer by training, Tamal was living in the staff quarters of his school. However, after the Taliban took over the city of Kabul, he was forced to lock himself up inside the principal’s residence.

He alleged to have contacted the Indian embassy and couldn’t reach the Hamid Karzai International airport despite several attempts. Later, he claimed to have reached the airport gate at 11 pm on August 20, only to be returned by the US security forces due to the absence of government officials and documents. He added that Talibs were surrounding the airport and had to spend the night in a nearby wedding hall. While speaking to Anandabazaar Patrika, he said, “Please inform PM Modi and Amit Shah so that immediate action is taken for our evacuation

Eventually, Tamal was evacuated by an Indian Air Force (IAF) carrier along with 10 other Bengali residents. He boarded the flight late on August 21 night and reached the National capital on August 22 morning. On the same day, he returned to Kolkata via a flight from New Delhi. Tamal, who was successfully rescued by the Indian government from his perilous state, heaped praise upon the Taliban after reaching home.

As per a report in ABP News, Tamal Bhattacharya claimed that the Taliban has not only treated him well but also fed him good food. “They (Talibs) also played cricket with us,” he claimed. Tamal later hailed the radical Islamist outfit for being ‘trustworthy’. This is despite the fact that he had earlier pleaded with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to evacuate him immediately from Taliban-controlled Kabul. Tamal’s contentious claims found overwhelming support among the radical Islamists, who were seeking opportunities to whitewash the atrocities committed by the Talibs.

Tamal Bhattacharya was seen with Taliban radicals holding weapons, and he was posing ‘proudly’ with them. “The Ministry of IT and Electronics has accepted this plea too for consideration,” Chowdhury had tweeted. It was also alleged that he might be planning to flee the country soon.

Tokyo Paralympics: India bags two more medals in javelin throw, Devendra Jhajharia and Sundar Singh win silver and bronze respectively

Indian para-athletes Devendra Jhajharia and Sundar Singh on Monday won silver medal and bronze medal respectively in javelin throw class F45 at Tokyo Paralympics.

It is raining medals for India with more than five Indian para-athletes keeping the winning streak going.

After Neeraj Chopra who won a gold for India in recently concluded Tokyo Olympics, all eyes were on the 40-year-old athlete Devendra Jhajharia who is the only Indian to have won two individual gold medals at the Paralympics. Jhajharia had won in the F46 category of javelin throw at the 2004 Athens and 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, making world record throws both times.

PM Modi took to Twitter to congratulate the athletes.

Para-athlete Avani Lekhara also won the gold medal in women’s 10 metres AR Standing SH1 today. To add to the celebrations, Indian para-athlete Yogesh Kathuniya won a silver medal in discus throw F56.

‘Divide India into two and give one part to Christians,’: Dy Director of Bible Open University International in Andhra Pradesh

Deputy Director of the Bible Open University International (BOUI), one E Santhosh Kumar, in a viral video can be heard saying “Under the leadership of our beloved leader Mr PD Sundara Rao, we, on behalf of All India True Christian Council demand that India should be split into two and one half should be given to Christians as a separate country.”

The shocking video was posted by SC ST Rights Forum, an advocacy group that works to safeguard the rights of SC/STs on its Twitter handle. “We will not bother you then,” said the Pastor further. The video was shared on August 24.

An earlier version of this article had mentioned the pastor’s name as K Upendra. However, the SC ST Rights Forum later shared that the name was wrong and the person calling for another partition of India in the video is actually E Santhosh Kumar, the Dy Director of Bible Open University International.

While AITCC’s Facebook page has been lying redundant since 2019, the few posts on its social media page talk about the various donation drives held by the organization including giving bikes to “God’s servants.”

AITCC’s Facebook post from 2019.

Conversion and evangelism have been established as a well-organized industry in several parts of India. States like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana are witnessing rampant conversions with the missionaries deploying multiple tactics to lure people into Christianity.

We reported earlier that the Andhra Pradesh police had registered a case against three pastors for posting photographs of children from families in a village on social media platforms to collect funds by claiming that they were orphans.

The racket was unearthed last month by the villagers of Thukkulur in the Krishna district. While one pastor was detained, the other two managed to abscond.
