Bengaluru: Two arrested for helping Pakistani spies obtain sensitive Army information by running a parallel telephone exchange

The Military Intelligence (MI) and the Anti-Terror Cell of Bengaluru Police have arrested two men Ibrahim Pullatti Bin Mohammed Kutty (36) hailing from Malappuram in Kerala and Gautham B Vishwanatha (27) from Tirupur in Tamil Nadu for running an illegal phone exchange that helped Pakistan spies to extract information related to the Indian Army. 

The two were nabbed for converting international calls to local ones, not only causing a huge revenue loss but also posing a grave threat to national security. 

The entire racket was busted in an operation conducted by the Military Intelligence (MI) wing of the Army’s Southern Command after they intercepted a call from a Pakistani spy to an Army installation in eastern India a few weeks back. This led to the unraveling of an illegal telephone exchange in Bengaluru, hinting at similar systems being operational in other parts of the country.

Spying on Indian Army

A spy from Pakistan was enquiring general details while posing as a senior officer during the intercepted call.

On further investigation, the Movement Control Office (MCO), as well as the Principal Comptroller of Defence Account (PCDA), reported receiving similar calls seeking details from them.

Further probe into the matter revealed that the Pakistan-based intelligence operatives exploited such illegal exchanges to route their calls to connect with Indian citizens and obtain information of military installations.

The officials also informed that the Pakistani intelligence operatives have invested in illegal call exchanges that switch Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls to normal Indian mobile calls. 

The modus operandi

During the raid, the security agencies seized thirty-two SIM box devices, which can use 960 SIM cards at a time. 

The accused Ibrahim and Gautham had placed the 32 devices in six areas of the city to carry out their illegal activities.

Despite the Indian Army issuing several advisories and drafting SOPs to prevent leaks through such means, a lot of civilian staff continue to fall prey to the scam, as per reports. 

Operating parallel telephone exchange

The scamsters make use of SIM boxes to run a parallel telephone exchange. As per the officials, a hardware-based device also known as SIM bank is used in the telecom sector for termination of direct Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) communication.

In order to avoid getting blocked by service providers or to go undetected by government agencies, an operator uses a technology called ‘migration’ of the SIM cards. Through this the registration of the SIM cards jumps on different GSM modules with a specific frequency, leading to multiple GSM gateways located throughout a city or a town. This system creates an illusion of a real user’s movement by showing the call being conducted from different gateways.

The officials also informed that the ‘adversary nation’ has been caught often using these illegal SIM boxes to obtain sensitive information by planting or penetrating their agents into the country.

After former union minister and Congress leader from Uttar Pradesh, Jitin Prasada ditched the party to join BJP, Rasheed Kidwai, a senior journalist close to Congress, has said in a report published in India Today, how it is the Sonia Gandhi factor that is keeping the defectors from leaving the party just yet. Interestingly, while Rashid Kidwai does not say it explicitly, it would seem like as Sonia Gandhi has been trying to keep the party from disintegrated, Rahul Gandhi has been conspicuously absent.

According to the journalist, many senior party leaders have been vocal about the need for a complete overhaul of the party in order to rescue itself from sliding into imminent political oblivion. In fact, ex-party leaders like Jyotiraditya Scindia, Jitin Prasada, Bhubaneshwar Kalitha, Sanjay Sinh, Priyanka Chaturvedi and numerous others had secured posts and positions in the grand-old-party, but still switched because they saw little or no future of the party organisation.

Despite the fact that dissident leaders like Sachin Pilot, Navjyot Singh Sidhu, RPN Singh, and others from G-23 are dissatisfied with the Congress’s leadership vacuum, Kidwai says that they are still sticking with the party only because interim AICC President Sonia Gandhi has “sensed the disquiet”.

How Sonia Gandhi manages to retain RPN Singh despite the buzz of him ditching the party

According to the journalist, there has been a constant buzz in the political circle, that RPN Singh, currently, the AICC’s point man for Jharkhand where the Congress is in power as a junior partner in the Hemant Soren ministry, might ditch the party. Sonia Gandhi had called RPN Singh’s mother, Mohani Singh, a few months earlier to speak with her. Mohani Singh is the widow of the former minister of state for defence in Indira Gandhi’s council of ministers, back in 1980.

Mrs CPN Singh had reportedly assured Sonia Gandhi that RPN Singh, himself a former minister in the Manmohan Singh regime, would not leave the party till the time she is alive.

Similarly, Sachin Pilot has been patient, according to Kidwai, despite the Rajasthan deadlock having reached a point of no return and Sonia Gandhi, the Congress’s chief, is also credited with this, says the journalist. In his case too, Sonia Gandhi is trying to do a damage limitation exercise. Sachin Pilot is expected to meet Sonia Gandhi, after holding a rally on June 11. The future of the Rajasthan Congress would solely depend on this meeting.

Role of Sonia in the return of Ghulam Nabi Azad to the Rajya Sabha

Likewise, another prominent member of Congress’ group of 23 dissenters (G-23), Ghulam Nabi Azad, was to face an uncertain future in Parliament after his term in the Rajya Sabha is ending on February 15, 2021.

He was unable to renew his RS term from Jammu & Kashmir given the Legislative Assembly there stands dissolved. Here too, Sonia Gandhi came to his rescue.

It was the party supremo that accepted DMK’s proposal of inducting Azad to the Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu.

“In some ways, it was the DMK’s proposal that has been accepted by Sonia Gandhi but Ghulam Nabi Azad, a past master in the Congress durbar and loyalty tricks, would credit the Gandhis as his benefactors whenever a formal announcement is made”, claimed Rasheed Kidwai, the journalist known to be in thick with the Congress leadership.

For the unversed, many senior party leaders, including P Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal and others have been vocal about the need for a complete overhaul of the party in order to rescue itself from sliding into imminent political oblivion. About 23 dissenting leaders had shot off a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi back in August last year, emphasising the need for sweeping changes to be made in the party from top to bottom in order to arrest the eroding confidence of the party’s support base.

The resignation of Jitin Prasada, one of Congress’ senior leaders, has inflicted a significant blow to the party. Recognizing that the Congress party, which is on the verge of disintegration, cannot afford to lose any of its last prominent figures, Rajasthan Congress in-charge Ajay Maken has assured that all pending grievances of former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot and his camp that rebelled against Gehlot will be addressed shortly. He also said that as per the demands put forth by the Pilot camp, the vacant cabinet seats in the state government will be filed soon.

Ajay Maken’s comment came in reaction to Pilot’s statements that the party’s high command is yet to resolve the issues that led to his rebellion against chief minister Ashok Gehlot in July 2020. He also claimed that a committee appointed to address his issues last year had failed to deliver on the promises that were made to him when he along with 18 legislators returned to the party after a month-long drama.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, six lawmakers close to former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot met with him in his Jaipur residence on Thursday. They then asked the Congress high command to fill vacant seats in the state government quickly. They further demanded that the government must make important political appointments as soon as possible.

Following a two-hour meeting with Pilot, one of the legislators, Ved Prakash Solanki of the Chaksu assembly constituency, pointed to a Congress panel investigating problems with the party’s Punjab unit and asked why, if issues raised by Punjab Congress leaders can be addressed in 10 days, should the concerns of the Rajasthan unit not be addressed in 10 months.

“There has been no discussion or hearings on the demands raised by us…it’s not about the discussions with us but the way issues of Punjab Congress were heard and a report is submitted in 10 days has disappointed workers here. When in Punjab things can happen in 10 days, why it cannot be done here in 10 months?” he asked.

“I am saying repeatedly that governance should be decentralised, and political appointments be done as soon as possible, be it at the block, district or state level. I also want to say that cabinet expansion should be done… if the CM does not want to consider people belonging to this side (Pilot camp)… don’t do it. At least consider his own people and Congress workers. This is not the time for yours’ or mine but of Congress workers, who worked hard to bring party government in the state. They should be given importance,” he added.

Another MLA, Mukesh Bhakar, also seconded Solanki stand on cabinet expansion and political appointments, and said: “Those who worked hard for five years should get their dues.”

He added, “Our struggle is ongoing. My leader is Pilot and I am with him always in any political situation.”

For the unversed, Congress had in August deputed a 3-member committee of senior leaders including the AICC in-charge Ajay Maken to resolve the differences between the Gehlot and Pilot camps.

The infighting within the Rajasthan Congress

The rift between the two groups within the state administration became clear in July last year, when rebel Congress leader Sachin Pilot was dismissed as Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress Chief by the Congress party, which accused him of plotting with the BJP to destabilise the government.

This was followed by a month-long enthralling drama, with Ashok Gehlot first disclosing that the two were not on talking terms for the past 1.5 years. The tussle became bitter when the Rajasthan CM lashed out at the rebel leader by calling him “nikamma and nakaara (useless)”. The show reached its climax with ultimately Sachin Pilot returning to his home turf and conceding before Ashok Gehlot. Soon, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot informed that a 3-member committee has been constituted by the Congress party to resolve grievances with Sachin Pilot. He claimed that peace and brotherhood would always remain in the grand old party.

On June 13 at around 7 AM, the groom AM Socialism, the son of Salem district CPI(M) unit secretary A Mohan, will enter a matrimonial alliance with the bride named Mamta Banerjee, the daughter of a Congress worker K Palanisamy.

Not just it, the groom named Socialism will tie the knot with the bride Mamata Banerjee in the presence of his two siblings – Communism and Leninism.

The bride Mamata Banerjee, a BA English Literature graduate, is related to Socialism. The bride Mamata Banerjee was named after firebrand West Bengal politician, who was once part of the Congress party before forming the All India Trinamool Congress.

“In 1991, when the Soviet Union broke up, reports were published that communism had come to an end. My wife was pregnant, and I was determined to name my first child Communism if it was a son. Communism will not die until the human race exists. Hence, my first son was named so. My second son was named Leninism in memory of Lenin. Communism has to be established for socialism to take shape,” said Mohan, district CPI secretary.

Leninism has a son named Marxism

Apparently, the three brothers had come to the limelight in 2016 when Mohan had contested the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections as a candidate of the People’s Welfare Front, of which the CPI was a member. The identities of his children were revealed in his election affidavit.

Communism is a practising lawyer, while his two siblings – Socialism and Leninism, run a silver jewellery manufacturing unit in Salem. Socialism is the youngest of the three siblings. Both Communism and Leninism are married, and the latter has a son named Marxism.

In fact, the three brothers are happy with their unique names. However, they say that not all attention they drew has been good so far.

“Not just me, my brothers too faced a lot of humiliation because of our names during our school days. In college, however, it attracted many and the reactions were more positive,” said Socialism. However, Socialism is now happy that his soon-to-be wife also has a peculiar name.

“Her parents are Congress sympathisers and named their daughter after Mamata Banerjee (now Trinamool Congress leader and West Bengal chief minister), who worked hard for the Congress more than 20 years ago. I am happy that my bride’s name is also peculiar,” Socialism said.

On Thursday (June 10), the Delhi High Court rejected a petition by the father of Sushant Singh Rajput wherein he had sought to restrain filmmakers from using the actor’s name, likeness, and lifestyle in movies based on his life.

As per reports, the application was heard by a single Judge Bench of Justice Sanjeev Narula. KK Singh, the father of Sushant Singh Rajput, had moved the Delhi High Court against proposed biopics on his deceased actor’s life. His petition was based on news reports that claimed that the movies, namely, “Nyay: The Justice”, “Suicide or Murder: A Star Was Lost”, and “Shashank” depicted the actor’s story.

“Any such publication, production, or depiction of the private life of the late actor is a blatant and wilful breach of the fundamental right to privacy which includes right to publicity,” the petition said. KK Singh had argued that no movies can be made with the prior approval of the actor’s legal heir. He also claimed that the movies, depicting the late actor, was released by ‘close confidants’ of the accused involved in the abetment of suicide case of Sushant Singh Rajput. He added that the purpose of the movie was to influence the pending investigation in the case.

Delhi HC refuses to grant relief, to consider the application of defendants

The Court, however, refused to grant an interim injunction and instead directed the movie makers to submit details of all profits, royalty, and licensing information to the Joint Registrar. It emphasised, “The Plaintiff has an adequate remedy of being compensated by award of damages, if the Plaintiff proves in trial that the celebrity/publicity rights were inheritable and inured to him exclusively. To ensure that, the Defendants are directed to render complete and true accounts of the revenue earned from the films by way of sale/licensing of all rights relating to the films.”

The Delhi High Court will also consider the plea filed by the movie makers (defendants), who sought rejection of the application by KK Singh under Order 7 Rule 11 of the Code of Criminal procedure (CrPC). It must be mentioned that Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri had earlier issued a notice in April this year after KK Singh had demanded a ban on the release of any movie on Sushant Singh Rajput’s life.

The mystery around the death of Sushant Singh Rajput

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his house in June last year under mysterious circumstances. After his death, a lot of questions were raised related to his death and the involvement of his girlfriend Rhea and her family as Sushant’s alleged emotional and financial exploitation was mentioned in a complaint filed by Sushant’s father KK Singh in Patna.

The case eventually got transferred to CBI on Bihar Police’s request and the Supreme Court’s orders. The Border Security Forces (BSF) of South Bengal arrested a Chinese national named Junwei Han (36) for infiltration along the India-Bangladesh international border in West Bengal’s Malda district on Thursday morning.

A resident of Hubei, China- Han was caught with a Chinese Passport with Bangladesh Visa, an Apple Laptop, two mobiles, a Bangladeshi, Indian and two Chinese SIM cards, two pen drives, five money transaction machines, two ATM Cards, and US, Bangladeshi and Indian currency.

According to the BSF, Han had first arrived in Dhaka on June 2 and had stayed there with a friend. He then came to Sona Masjid in Chapainawabganj (Bangladesh) on June 8 and stayed there till June 10, the day when he entered the Indian territory. 

“Due to the case registered against him, he didn’t get an Indian visa in China. He got a visa from Bangladesh & Nepal to come to India. In the electronic equipment found from him, many facts can be found that he was working in India for a Chinese intelligence agency,” BSF informed.

Neeraj Rajput the Associate Editor at ABP News informed via a Tweet that Han worked for the intelligence agencies of China and had intruded with an ulterior motive.

Business partner arrested by ATS

Han’s business partner Jiang who had sent him around 10 to 15 Indian SIM cards was recently arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad. He then spilled the names of Han and his wife. A case was registered by the ATS against Han and his wife in Lucknow, because of which he could not procure an Indian visa. Han then procured a Visa from Nepal and Bangladesh to enter India.

“Investigation is going on and other intelligence agencies have been alerted. We are working together on the case. His laptop is being scanned,” informed SS Guleria, DIG BSF (South Bengal Frontier).

Owned a hotel in Gurugram

Han during interrogation revealed that he ran a hotel in Gurugram where he had employed a few other Chinese nationals. 

“During interrogation, he said that he owns a hotel named ‘Star Spring’ in Gurugram and has been to India at least four times since 2010 and had been to Hyderabad, Delhi and Gurugram. We are verifying his statements,” added DIG BSF.

Chinese nationals caught with fake Aadhaar card

Two Chinese nationals were caught with fake Aadhaar cards and other documents while boarding a flight from Bagdogra airport, Siliguri to Hyderabad in March this year. The fake Aadhaar card bore Uttar Pradesh’s address.

the two men, identified as Zhang Jun (39) and Kaileng (42) were detained by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. As per reports, they were boarding an IndiGo flight to Hyderabad and were scheduled to travel to Tirupati.

Initial investigation reveal that they entered India through Nepal border at Panitanki in North Bengal. As per their passports, they had visited Pakistan in 2018 and 2019. They exited Nepal on January 13, 2021 and were since staying in India even after their visa expired.

Actor Aisha Sultana booked for sedition, had said Modi govt used COVID-19 as a bio-weapon in Lakshwadeep: Details

On Thursday, Lakshadweep police registered a case of sedition against controversial actor and model Aisha Sultana for claiming that the Modi government had used Covid-19 as a ‘bio-weapon’ against the people of Lakshadweep Islands.

According to reports, a case was registered at Kavaratti police station, based on a complaint from BJP’s Lakshadweep unit president C Abdul Khader Haji. The complaint was filed under Sections 124 A (sedition) and 153 B (hate speech) against Aisha Sultana for making wild claims that the centre was using Covid-19 as a bio-weapon in the union territory.

In his complaint, Khader pointed that Aisha Sultana, a native of Chetlat island, had purportedly said that the Centre was using Praful Patel as a bio-weapon on the island. Khader has cited a recent debate on the Malayalam channel in which Aisha Sultana had made such comments.

In a debate on the Malayalam channel Media One, Aisha Sultana had claimed, “Before centre took care, Lakshadweep had 0 cases of COVID-19. Now, it is reporting a daily spike of 100 cases. What the centre has deployed is a bioweapon. I can say this clearly that the central government has deployed bioweapon against the people of Lakshadweep.”

Through her comments, Aisha Sultana had tried to undermine the efforts to bring development to the Islands. By trying to blame the centre, Aisha was attempting to conceal the crumbling health infrastructure of the islands that had resulted in the increasing number of Covid-19 cases.

The remarks had sparked severe protests in Lakshadweep, especially from the BJP unit. BJP workers had filed several complaints against Aisha in Kerala as well.

Meanwhile, Aisha Sultana has defended her controversial statements saying, “I had used the word bio-weapon in the TV channel debate. I have felt Patel as well as his policies [have acted] as a bio-weapon. It was through Patel and his entourage that Covid-19 spread in Lakshadweep. I have compared Patel as a bioweapon, not the government or the country…. You should understand. What else should I call him….”

The unfounded allegations against the central government came in the wake of reforms announced by administrator Praful K Patel, who announced a slew of proposals aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, along with promoting the islands as a tourist destination on par with the Maldives.

Health ministry and cyber experts rubbish the offer of alleged hacker group to sell CoWIN portal data on dark web, say its fake

On June 10, DarkTracer, a criminal intelligence profiling platform, posted a tweet saying that a hacker group that goes by the name “Dark Leak Market” has allegedly leaked the CoWIN Portal database on the dark web. They shared a screenshot of the post in which the hackers claimed to be reselling the database for $800. They also claimed that they are not the “original leakers” of the data. In the tweet, DarkTracker said that the hackers posted the information of about 150 million vaccinated people.

In the screenshot, the alleged hacking group claims that they have details like name, mobile number, Aadhaar ID, GPS location state etc of the vaccinated people from the CoWIN portal. They have added they are the only reseller of the data, and they have not leaked the same.

Experts rubbished the claims

Internet Security Researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia, however, rubbished the claims. He said that the alleged hacking group is trying to make money by selling fake data in the name of leaked data from the CoWIN portal. In a tweet thread, Rajshekhar said, “Cowin Portal not hacked!! Some Fake #DarkwebLeakMarket are claiming to sell data of 150 Million COVID19 Vaccinated People of India. It’s completely fake. It’s a Bitcoin Scam. Don’t Trust. Check Screenshots. They are listing fake leaks.”

He further added that the said market is known for posting fake data leaks and scamming people. “They are just taking Bitcoin for nothing. Data Sample also not available anywhere.”

OpIndia contacted Rajshekhar to learn more about the claim and why there is nothing to fear. He said, “For someone unknown to such dubious claims, it can be an alarming situation. However, in reality, the hackers who claim to have access to the database are known for posting fake claims. There is nothing to fear, and the Cowin Portal is absolutely safe.”

Sanjeev Gupta, Secretary, ISCS, Home Ministry, GoI echoed with Rajshekhar’s explanation and said, “I trust Rajshekhar more and hence won’t get swayed by these Dark Tracer & other such handles. So, there has been no hack of #CowinPortal. There is just no need for panic. Will check with official sources as well, if need be.”

Sunny Nehra, Admin at Hacks And Security, said, “99% of the darknet forums, 99% of the posts we get on shady forums meant for data or tools are merely scams. People talk about the darknet everywhere, but they need to understand that least things are authentic there. It’s like you will get the ad of red rooms everywhere, but no one could ever prove that it exists… no proofs till date.”

Ministry denies the claim

Following the reports of alleged hacker group selling CoWIN data, the union health ministry issued a statement debunking the claims. The ministry said that prima facie the reports appear to be fake, however, the Union Health Ministry and the Empowered Group on Vaccine Administration (EGVAC) are getting the matter investigated by the Computer Emergency Response Team under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

“Our attention has been drawn towards the news circulating on social media about the alleged hacking of Co-WIN system. In this connection we wish to state that Co-WIN stores all the vaccination data in a safe and secure digital environment. No Co-WIN data is shared with any entity outside the Co-WIN environment. The data being claimed as having been leaked such as geo-location of beneficiaries, is not even collected at Co-WIN. The news prima facie appears to be fake. However, we have asked the Computer Emergency Response Team of MeitY to investigate the issue,” said Dr RS Sharma, the chairman of Co-WIN portal, said in the statement.

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan also tweeted that the report of the CoWIN data leak is fake. He also informed that the portal does not even collect GPS location data of the beneficiaries, that the alleged hackers have claimed to be having with them from the ‘leak’. He added that all data on CoWIN is stored in a secure digital environment and is not shared with anyone outside of it.

Nusrat Jahan’s ‘invalid marriage’: Nikhil Jain says she had refused to register the marriage, refutes her allegations over property and money

A day after actress and TMC MP Nusrat Jahan in a statement Wednesday, termed her marriage with husband Nikhil Jain ‘invalid’, the latter has retaliated. In a nine-point statement, Jain revealed that he had asked Nusrat Jahan to get their marriage registered multiple times but she avoided all his requests.

Disconcerted by the allegations meted out at him and his family, Jain said that it has now become imperative to break the silence and disclose some facts regarding their married life.

His statement started with the revelation on how he proposed Nusrat Jahan, ‘out of love’, which she “gratefully accepted”. He says that in June 2019, they had a destination wedding in Bodrum, Turkey, followed by a celebration in Kolkata.

“We lived together as husband and wife and introduced ourselves as a married couple in the society. I devoted all my time and resources being a faithful and responsible husband. Friends, family and people close to us know everything what I did for her. My unconditional support for her is unchallenged. However, within a very short period she changed her attitude towards married life with me”, wrote Nikhil Jain.

He further claimed that in August 2020 during the shooting of a film, Nusrat Jahan’s behaviour towards him started changing. On November 5, 2020, left Nikhil Jain’s flat with her bag and baggage along with her personal valuables, papers and documents and shifted to her Ballygunge flat and thereafter they never stayed together as husband-and-wife, claimed Jain, adding that “the rest of her personal belongings along with the documents (IT returns etc) were also sent to her shortly after her shifting”.

Here it is pertinent to note that Nusrat Jahan in her statement on Wednesday had alleged that her belongings, including family jewellery and other assets, have been “illegally held back”. She also alleged that her “funds were mishandled” from various accounts without her knowledge.

Jain countered these accusations by asserting that after their marriage, to get her released from the heavy interest burden of a home loan, he had the same liquidated by transferring money from his family accounts to her account. This was done on mutual trust and understanding that she would return the amount shortly in instalments and as and when the funds are available. He said that she still owes considerable amounts of money for this arrangement.

“Any money-transfer made by her from her account to my family account was repayments of the loan which I gave in good faith. Considerable amount is still due to be paid”, said Nusrat Jahan’s estranged husband, adding that the allegations made by her are all baseless, derogatory and devoid of truth.

“One need not find or create proof, the proof is always there, my bank statements and credit card statements are proof enough”, Jain said that his bank and credit card statements can back up his claims.

He furthered that he had got “disheartened by going through various media reports regarding her outings and felt cheated. Ultimately on March 8, 2021, was compelled to file a Civil Suit against her in Alipore Judges’ Court for annulment of our marriage.”

He says that since the matter is pending before a court of law, he wanted to refrain from giving any statement about their personal life, however, the Bengali actress’ recent statements have compelled him to disclose some facts.

“In the circumstances I would request the media to refrain from any type of comments considering the problem regarding personal life and sub judice matter”, Jain stated in the end of his letter.

Nikhil Jain says he has applied for annulment

Speaking to India Today, Nikhil Jain has stated that he and Nusrat have been separated since November 2020. He added that since the matter is sub-judice he cannot comment on issues of legalities of their marriage, but confirmed that he has applied for an annulment in a Kolkata court.

It’s worth noting here that Nusrat Jahan published a statement yesterday in which she called her marriage with Nikhil Jain ‘invalid’ and levelled some serious allegations against him and his family. In her statement, the actress said she has separated from Jain long back and that her wedding in Turkey was not valid as no formal marriage took place as per Indian law and it was not a legal marriage as per Turkish regulations either.

In an apparent reference to her estranged husband in the statement, Nusrat Jahan said, “The one who claims to be “rich” and “been used by me” has been taking money from my account by accessing my bank accounts illegally and by illegitimate means at odd-hours of the night, even post-separation. The actress said she has already taken this up with the concerned banking authority and said that a police complaint would be filed shortly.

Nusrat Jahan’s pregnancy news started doing the rounds

The letter by the actor-turned-politician comes just a day after there were speculations that she was pregnant, amid the reports that she has separated from her husband.

Interestingly, Nusrat’s husband, Nikhil Jain, who is currently separated from the actor, had no idea about his estranged wife being pregnant. Speaking to a local media, Jain had said that he has been separated from Nusrat for over six months now, and the child, if the news is true, is not his.

After dating for a while, Nusrat Jahan and Nikhil Jain married on June 19, 2019. In the company of close friends and family members, the actress married in a small ceremony in Turkey. The actress’ wedding photos, in her gorgeous Hindu bridal gown had then gone viral on social media.
