Australian media slam Justin Trudeau for abstaining vote against China, calls his government the most pathetic in the history of the Five Eyes

On February 22, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his cabinet abstained from voting in Canada’s House of Commons to declare China is committing genocide against Uyghurs. His move is being criticized across the world. Sky News Australia host Cory Bernardi during a news show called Canadian government the “most pathetic government in the history of the Five Eyes” for his alleged ‘spineless’ step.

The Five Eyes is an alliance of five countries comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It was formed for joint cooperation in signals intelligence.

On February 25, Sky News Australia host Peta Credlin discussed with other Sky News host Cory Bernardi and Outsiders host James Morrow. While addressing Canadian PM as ‘Left-Wing Premier’ and ‘Prince of Woke’, Credlin said that when she saw the headline in the papers that Canada has voted, she thought finally the Uyghur issue is finally getting some attention. However, Justin Trudeau did not turn up for voting.

Sky News host Cory Bernardi said that it was Justin and his entire cabinet that abstained from voting. He said, perhaps the “most pathetic government in the history of the Five Eyes nation.” He added that what is happening in China with Uyghurs is an absolute disgrace, and it is a blight on the rest of the world that no one is talking about it because “we are too afraid to offend China.”

He further added that the debate on whether the Winter Olympics should take place in China or not is still ongoing. Canada has voted against China but not because of the sitting government under Trudeau but because of the rest of the Canadian Parliament that showed some “spirit and some spine in these matters.”

Credlin, while calling Erin O’Toole’s statement in which he pointed out that what is happening in China is real suffering and Canada’s values and not for sale, a gusty statement, she pointed out that United States President Joe Biden also excused Beijing’s treatment of Uyghurs by calling it “sort of different cultural norm.” She raised questions over the Western leaders’ weak-kneed attitude when it comes to calling out China’s human rights abuses.

‘The issue is money’ – James Morrow

Morrow said that there was a time when the left was all vocal for free Tibet, and they were not afraid of calling out China. However, in today’s time, it seems like the real issue is money. He said that China had become such a huge market for Hollywood and another source of industries. It also pumps money into left-wing politicians’ campaigns. He alleged that an “awful lot of people had been bought by China.” He added that he does not know the situation with Trudeau but the left now has a blind spot when it comes to the treatment of Uyghurs in the hands of China.

Canadian PM and his cabinet abstained from voting

On February 22, PM Trudeau and his cabinet abstained from voting after the opposition Conservative Party brought the motion saying that China’s treatment of the Uyghur Muslims in the Xinjiang region constitutes ‘genocide’. Canada’s House of Commons voted 266-0 for the non-binding motion. The motion also reportedly called on the International Olympic Committee to move the 2022 Winter Olympics from Beijing.

US: Liberals outrage over supposed ‘Nazi symbol’ at CPAC ahead of Donald Trump’s address, Jewish conservatives rubbish allegations

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is the largest gathering of conservative leaders and activists in the United States. Hosted by the American Conservative Union (ACU), the event is held each year. As of 2021, CAPC has been organised between February 25 and February 28 at Hyatt Regency Orlando in Florida. Ahead of former US President Donald Trump’s address at CPAC on Sunday, a new controversy has gripped the annual event.

Democratic Party leaders and supporters alleged that the stage design of the CPAC bore an uncanny resemblance with a ‘Nazi symbol’. The liberal lobby suggested that the US conservatives were indulging in antisemitism by openly displaying symbols that have been historically used for the persecution of the Jewish community.

Liberals claim ‘CPAC stage design’ resembles Nazi symbol

Former Democratic Senator, Daylin Leach, tweeted, “Here is a well known Nazi symbol and the stage design at the 2021 #CPAC Convention. What a wacky coincidence!”

Author Fred Guttenberg wrote, .”Hyatt, the CPAC stage is designed to be a rune used by the Nazis. Curious if you are okay with Nazi symbols being used on your properties like this?”

Others claimed that Hyatt is perfectly happy allowing such a conference within its premises. Filmmaker Morgan J Freeman said, “The CPAC stage is designed to be a rune used by the Nazis. Curious if Hyatt is okay with Nazi symbols being used on their properties like this?”

The Truth about the controversy

International fact-checking website Snopes noted, “The shape of the Nazi symbol is eerily similar to the shape of the stage at CPAC. However, we are presently unable to confirm whether this was a deliberate choice made by the event organizers. At the moment, we rate this claim as “Unproven.””

The Nazi symbol in question is the ‘Odal rune (also called Othala rune)’ which had been in use prior to Hitler’s regime in Germany. It has been in existence since the 3rd century. While it is true that the symbol has been appropriated by neo-Nazis, it is bizarre to suggest the CAPC would invite Jewish speakers, support Israel and embrace Judeo-Christian values. Even the CAPC programme of 2021 hosted 2 Jewish prayer services, purim luncheon, and a Shabbat dinner.

Screengrab of the CAPC itinerary

PJ Media further pointed out, “Even the connection to this symbol is extremely tenuous. The CPAC stage looks slightly like the inverse of the symbol, but it seems organizers set up a stage for multiple speakers and panels, as CPAC has hosted this week. In previous years, CPAC stages have often had two wings on the right and left, with two pathways by which speakers enter the stage. The wings allow for multiple panellists on either side of the stage.”

Moreover, the document that most Democrats had been citing to suggest the resemblance of the ‘Odal rune’ with the stage design at CAPC also features symbol such as the Celtic cross and Schutzstaffel (SS) bolts. These symbols were primarily associated with Christianity and Ireland, before being appropriated by the Nazis.

CPAC rubbishes the controversy surrounding the ‘Nazi symbol’

The Chairman of the American Conservative Union, Matt Schlapp, dismissed the allegations levelled at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). He tweeted, “Stage design conspiracies are outrageous and slanderous. We have a long-standing commitment to the Jewish community. Cancel culture extremists must address antisemitism within their own ranks. CPAC proudly stands with our Jewish allies, including those speaking from this stage.”

His tweet received support from a Jewish conservative Josh Mandel. He wrote, “As the grandson of Holocaust survivors, & as a proud American, Marine & Jew, I find these attacks on CPAC to be outrageous & grotesque. Taking a dig at the liberal bandwagon, he added, “Thank you Matt Schlapp, Mercedes Schlapp, Daniel Schneider for being proud Christian Zionists & such great friends of the Jewish people.”

Democrats try to ‘cancel’ hotel chain for hosting Conservative Conference, Hyatt stands its ground

Earlier, the liberal bandwagon tried to ‘cancel’ Hyatt Regency Orlando for hosting a Conservative Political Action Conference by trending #boycottHyatt on Twitter. However, the luxurious hotel chain stood its ground against the ecosystem’s cancel culture. In a statement, Hyatt spokesperson emphasised, “We take pride in operating a highly inclusive environment and we believe that the facilitation of gatherings is a central element of what we do as a hospitality company.”

“We believe in the right of individuals and organizations to peacefully express their views, independent of the degree to which the perspectives of those hosting meetings and events at our hotels align with ours. Our own values support a culture that is characterized by empathy, respect and diversity of opinions and backgrounds, and we strive to bring this to light through what we do and how we engage with those in our care,” Hyatt added.

0

A sub-inspector in Rajasthan was suspended for sacrificing a goat at a Temple in Paradva village under Kasbathana area. Disciplinary action was initiated against him as well after animal rights activists intervened into the matter.

The police officer in question has been identified as Bhanwar Singh, SHO of Deoli-Manjhi police station in Kota district. A 54-second video of the Pashubali ritual went viral on social media following which the Police got involved.

Kota Rural SP Sharad Choudhary ordered an enquiry into the matter to be conducted by Circle Officer (CO) of Sangod Rameshwar Parihar. A case has also been registered against the suspended police officer from Rajasthan.

As per reports, the incident occurred on the 19th of February when the police officer was on leave to attend the tonsure ceremony of his grandson. A goat was sacrificed at the local Temple. SHO of Kasbathana police station Bhagwan Das, however, claimed that he was not aware of the suspension order and said that an investigation into the matter was still underway.

The Hindu ritual of animal sacrifice has come under intense attack in recent times with numerous attempts to have it banned. The Supreme Court had permitted the ritual to be performed last year after the Tripura High Court had it banned. The apex court had stayed the order of the Odisha High Court banning the ritual as well.

Animal rights activists focus excessively on the Hindu ritual while remaining silent on the slaughter of animals during Eid.

Congress IT cell passes off old images of left parties rally to claim lakhs of people attended their rally in Bengal

On Sunday, several Congress leaders took to Twitter to share a set of images of a political rally in West Bengal and claimed that lakhs of people had gathered at the brigade ground in Kolkata to attend a joint rally of Congress and the left parties.

Saral Patel, who is the national convenor of the Congress IT cell, shared two images on Twitter to claim that a sea of people had thronged at the Joint Rally of the Congress party and Communist Party of India – Marxist at the Brigade Ground in Kolkata. The Congress leader said that the images showed the anger of people in West Bengal and added that the images will surely give sleepless nights to rulers in Delhi as well as Kolkata.

It is pertinent to note that the Left parties and Congress has formed a coalition ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections.

Following the footsteps of Saral Patel, Vinay Kumar Dokania, who is the national co-coordinator of the Congress IT Cell, also shared the same set of images to claim that images are from the joint rally.

Journalist Pankaj Pachauri, who was the media advisor of former PM Manmohan Singh, also shared the same image claiming it to from today.

Ahmed Bilal Chowdhury, a Congress party sympathiser on Twitter, also put out the same set of images to add that PM Modi and Amit Shah will have sleepless nights after seeing the image of the joint rally of INC and the left in West Bengal.

Another Congress supporter who goes by the name Elizabeth, sharing the images, said that a swarm of people had come at brigade ground to the joint rally of INC and Left in Bengal.

However, the image shared by the Congress leaders and the trolls associated with the party is not a recent one.

Fact Check:

The two images shared by the Congress IT cell members and several other party workers on social media were not captured at the so-called joint rally of the Congress party and the left parties in Kolkata on Sunday.

Contrary to the claims of the Congress party workers, the image was taken at a rally of leftist parties at the Brigade Parade ground in Kolkata on Feb 3 2019.

The same image was also shared by a Facebook group of the left party followers – ‘Red Club’ in June 2020.

From the above set of images, it is clear that the Congress party IT cell was sharing misleading images to falsely claim that a huge of workers had attended the so-called joint rally of the Congress and left parties in the Brigade ground of Kolkata.

Arvind Kejriwal dons tinfoil hat to become conspiracy theorist, claims BJP workers hoisted flag at Red Fort

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has turned into a delusional conspiracy theorist. He claimed while addressing a crowd in Meerut that the violent mob which hoisted the Sikh Flag at the Red Fort comprised of BJP workers. There is no evidence for the claims at all and it is quite clearly fake news but that does not appear to have stopped the AAP Supremo from resorting to such tricks.

Kejriwal indulged in fearmongering regarding the ‘farmer protests’ and falsely claimed that the BJP had called farmers ‘anti-national’. He said that the three farm laws are ‘death warrant’ for farmers and declared that it was a ‘do or die’ situation for farmers.

Investigation into the Republic Day riots has revealed there is a Khalistani attempt underway to destabilize India. The Greta toolkit exposed the sinister underbelly of the global campaign against India.

It is suspected that Deep Sidhu and his followers were responsible for hoisting the Sikh Flag at the Red Fort. The Congress party had tried to claim earlier that Sidhu was a BJP worker, however, he is on record clarifying that he only had a personal relationship with Sunny Deol and never had any association with the BJP.

Deep Sidhu also affirmed his Khalistani views in interviews where he refused to condemn Bhindranwale. Arvind Kejriwal, quite clearly, is making an attempt to shield Khalistanis despite overwhelming evidence of their involvement.

Gujarat police detain woman and her brother for dragging the woman’s abusive husband behind a tempo

0

On Saturday, the Gujarat police detained a woman after she tied her husband behind a tempo and dragged him on the road for half a kilometre in Kadodara in Surat, reported The Times of India. The accused’s brother has also been detained in connection to the case.

As per reports, the incident took place on Friday. The victim, identified as Balkrushna Rathod, returned home in the Durganagar locality of Kadodara in an inebriated state. He then began assaulting his wife Shital Rathod. While seeking help, Shital informed her brother Anil Chauhan. After some time, Anil drove to her house in his mini tempo to pacify the heated situation.

When Anil requested Balkrushna to stop thrashing Sithal, he began hurling abuses at the brother-sister duo. Balkrushna then proceeded to destroy things in the house, despite all attempts made by Anil to stop him. It was then that the brother-sister duo thrashed the victim and tied his one hand to the back of the temp. They then dragged him on the road in full speed for about half a kilometre.

The video of the incident was caught in one of the CCTV cameras. In the footage, the victim Balkrushna could be seen being dragged along the ground on the rocky road. On seeing the condition of the vict im, the locals took the matter into their own hands. They chased the mini tempo and stopped it, and thrashed Anil Chauhan, who had been driving the vehicle. The locals then handed him over to the police.

The victim was rushed to a private hospital in Kadodara for immediate medical attention. However, when his condition worsened, Bakkrushna was shifted to SMIMER Hospital & Medical College. He has sustained several head injuries and his condition is said to be critical. The victim works as a labourer in a dyeing mill and his family hails from Jalgaon district in Maharashtra. As of now, Balkrushna has remained in an unconscious state.

While speaking about the incident, a police official informed, “The victim did not stop and instead abused both brother and sister. The woman told the police that Balkrushna often thrashed her and also failed to return home for days at a stretch.” The cops have detained Anil Chauhan and Sithal Rathod on charges of attempt to murder. The police said that the brother-sisiter duo would be arrested, once they test negative for Coronavirus.

Gujarat local body polls: State Congress President Hardik Patel could not vote for his own party. Here is why

Gujarat Congress Working President Hardik Patel on Sunday could not vote for his own party. This happened because the place where he is a registered voter did not even have a Congress candidate.

Gujarat Congress President Patel is registered voter for Viramgam Nagar Palika in Ahmedabad district. Here, in ward no. 2 there were only BJP panel and a panel of independent candidates. After casting his vote, Patel said that in his constituency there has always been a panel for independent candidates. “My vote is for whoever who brings development to Viramgam,” he said. He claimed that he voted for the independent candidates as Congress has extended support to them.

Hardik has been upset with Congress as the party, which was humiliated in the recently concluded six civic body polls in Gujarat, did not even hold one public meeting for him. He claims that the party is not being able to fully utilise his potential. He said that his own party leaders want to bring him down. Patel is accused of sedition in 2015 Patidar reservation agitation.

On Sunday, Gujarat held elections for 81 Nagarpalikas, 31 Zilla Panchayats and 231 Taluka Panchayats. The results for the same will be declared on 2nd March 2021.

Fresh cases continue to surge in Maharashtra, Kerala

Maharashtra and Kerala have now become the major concern in terms of the fresh coronavirus cases in the country. The two states together account for nearly 70 per cent of the total cases in the country.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi-ruled Maharashtra is the latest coronavirus hot spot in the country as it registered 8,623 new coronavirus cases and recorded 51 deaths in the last 24 hours.

According to the state health department, the total count of cases reported in the state has gone up to 21,46,777, including 72,530 active cases. The total deaths due to Covid in Maharashtra is 52,092.

As can be seen, from around 11th February itself Maharashtra has been showing a consistently upward trend of active coronavirus cases. Mumbai alone has recorded 987 new Covid-19 cases. The total cases in the country’s financial capital now stand at 3,24,866, while the death toll reached 11,466 on Friday.

Following the surge in cases, the Gujarat government has extended the night curfew in four major cities Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot for another 15 days.

Watch: Mother of BJP worker recounts the horror of Friday when Trinamool goons attacked her and her son

A BJP worker and his mother were thrashed allegedly by Trinamool Congress workers on Friday night. Visuals of the old injured lady has caused much anguish among people on social media. The frail Shobha Majumder, mother of Gopal Majumder, has said that she was hit on her head by Trinamool workers.

In ha heartbreaking interview to ANI, the old woman struggles to recount the horrors she had to endure. Her eyes were swollen and her face had a sick dark hue.

She makes it clear that she was attacked by Trinamool workers. She was pushed around and beaten and said that they were warned not to speak about the incident. She also says that she did not recognize the people who assaulted her.

Shobha Majumder says that her entire body was paining. From her posture, it was evident that she was struggling to speak and was still suffering the effects of the assault. The attack on her only reveals the hollowness of Mamata Banerjee’s slogan ‘Maa, Maati, Manush’.

“They pushed my mother and she has been injured…After attacking us, they left the house. I am a member of the local BJP Mandal (BJP committee). They first assaulted us with bare hands and then hit on my head with the hood of a revolver. After that, I fell down on the ground. They kicked and assaulted me further,” her son had said.

With elections only a month away, the assault on Shobha Majumder and her son only emphasises the fact that political violence remains a very legitimate threat in West Bengal.

The BJP office in the Baranagar area of North Parganas district in West Bengal was vandalised on Friday night as well, the day when the Election Commission sounded the poll bugle in the state.

Maharashtra: Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Rathod resigns from state cabinet over ‘dirty politics’, is an accused in Pooja Chavan suicide case

0

Controversial Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Rathod today tendered his resignation from Maharashtra state cabinet citing ‘dirty politics’ over ‘death of a woman’. He is one of the accused in TikTok star Pooja Chavan suicide case.

Maharashtra Forest Minister resigned after meeting Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray at his official residence.

Rathod, along with his wife, met Uddhav Thackeray at his residence where Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde and Transport Minister Anil Parab were also present with Environment Minister and Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aaditya Thackeray. Earlier today, people of Banjara community had come forward to extend their support to Rathod and demanded that the CM does not let him step down.

Pooja Chavan suicide case

Rathod’s name emerged after 22-year-old TikTok star Pooja Chavan died of suicide by jumping off the Heaven Park building in Pune’s Wanawadi area on February 8. The Maharashtra police, probing the case, filed an accidental case and dismissed anything suspicious in the matter.

However, soon after, many audio tapes allegedly linked to Pooja Chavan’s death, moreover, alluding to the involvement of the state minister, went viral on social media. In one such audio clip, one person is heard making some suggestions to suppress a case. The person also issued instructions in Marathi to take possession of laptops and mobiles phones and the ‘issue’ should not be escalated. Further, some social media posts claimed that Pooja Chavan was in a relationship with the Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Rathod.
