Did Kafeel Khan compare Pakistani Hindu refugees to thieves?

They say Kafeel Khan is a hero. But then they say that about so many other people. As with under all ‘fascist’ regimes, the dissent sector has been thriving in India since 2014. As ambitious Indian parents would certainly have noted: Dissenter ban jaao, bahut scope hai.

But hey, if Kafeel Khan is indeed a hero of tolerance, I wouldn’t want to disrespect him. That would not be fair. So let us find out the kinds of things he said. Here he is addressing a crowd of young people, apparently at Aligarh Muslim University.

I suggest you listen to the speech in full to get a measure of the man. Kafeel Khan speaks eloquently, keeps his audience engaged, sometimes with shayari, sometimes with slogans, raising and lowering his voice with a natural feel for the enthusiasm of the crowd. He has the flair of a natural born leader. Maybe he really is a hero.

A leader excels at communication by taking complex concepts and breaking them down for the masses in terms that everyone can understand. Here is Kafeel Khan presumably trying to explain the spirit of CAA (and how this law is supposedly a shame for India) by means of an analogy. Listen carefully (from 17:00):

“Aapko nahin pata hai, iss law ke laane ki wajah se all over world India ki kitni thoo-thoo ho rahi hai. Aap aise socho, ki aapke padosi ka jo naukar hai usne chori ki hai, wo badtameez hai. Ab wo mere ghar aayega, main usko naukri de doonga.”

For friends who may not speak Hindi, let me translate this:

“You don’t know how the whole world is spitting on India because of this law. Think of it this way: your neighbour has a servant who is ill-behaved and a thief. And now I am bringing that thief to my house and giving him a job.“

Assuming this is how he wants to explain CAA, let us now dissect this analogy and the mentality behind it. Who is the neighbor here? I suppose it could be Pakistan.

Who is the neighbor’s servant that we are bringing to our house? I suppose that’s the reference to Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains and Buddhists in Pakistan. The persecuted religious minorities in Pakistan.

Servants?

Is he saying that religious minorities in Pakistan should see themselves as servants of Pakistani Muslims? And the young people all around him seem to love his analogy and lap it up. Non-believers are servants?

Not just servants, they are also “badtameez” or ill-behaved. And worst of all, he seems to call them thieves for running away from Pakistan!

Thieves?

What have they stolen? There is all sorts of rhetoric against refugees out there, much of it hateful, but this is a new one: accusing them of stealing from the country that they are fleeing. They are running for their lives with literally nothing. How could they be thieves? How could anyone possibly see a refugee as a thief?

Unless…

Pakistani Hindu refugees did bring something with them, after all. They brought themselves, their own bodies. In the analogy, the only thing they could have stolen from Pakistan is their own bodies. Is he seeing them as runaway slaves, who have “stolen” themselves from their owners? It would go well with the rest of his analogy, considering that the starting point of the analogy was that Pakistani Hindus are like servants of Pakistani Muslims.

This is 2019, apparently at a major Indian university. Standing in a group of young people, he seems to suggest that Pakistani Hindus are like escaped slaves.

This is hardcore, 1930s style stuff, that you would expect to hear from literal Nazis and Communists. Slavery ended a long time ago. And comparing refugees to ill-behaved servants and then thieves: that’s just not acceptable in this century. Let alone in a crowd of youth at a university.

Is Kafeel Khan suggesting that religious minorities in a country are like slaves of the majority? Or is he suggesting that non-believers should be seen as slaves of the believers? Both are disturbing and quite frankly, disgusting…

Finally, should Kafeel Khan go to jail for saying this? I understand free speech. Liberal friends tell me there is also something called “hate speech.” And apparently there are laws against hate speech in India, which they say is a good thing. Very well then. I’m not sure what hate speech is, but from the nebulous definitions I’ve seen, this one appears to tick all the boxes.

But who am I to decide that? The Honorable High Court says otherwise. And I am sure any kind of contempt of court will cost me more than one rupee. So let me humbly welcome this verdict from the honorable court. Adaalat ki jai ho!

Zakat Foundation, which is involved in helping Muslims get recruited into civil services, also provide help to Rohingyas who have been deemed to be a national security threat. They have established a ‘makeshift camp’ for Rohingyas called ‘Darul Hijrat’ right at the national capital. They have also revealed a detailed map for a permanent colony for Rohingyas with a Mosque and a permanent office of the foundation.

The Zakat Foundation claims that the entire project has the approval of the Home Ministry. Vice-President of the foundation, S.M.Shakil, is in charge of the project.

The Zakat Foundation educates Rohingyas on Islamic doctrines. Several Rohingya settlements have come up in Delhi over time, the most prominent of them are in Sheehn Bagh, Kalindi Kunj, Vikas Puri and Khajuri Khas. Some of these areas witnessed great violence during the communal riots in the national capital in the month of February.

We had earlier reported on the dangerous ideology of the Zakat Foundation and its links to Islamist organisations abroad and Radical Islamic preacher Zakir Naik. They are also opposed to the Citizenship Amendment Act and the Uniform Civil Code. Its president Syed Zafar Mahmood had made ridiculous demands to concede the Ram Janmabhoomi to Hindus that included reservations for the Muslim community in government recruitment and delimitation of Lok Sabha Constituencies.

Recently, a video clip of Zakat Foundation Shariah Council member Kalim Siddiqui had gone viral on social media where he could be heard saying that Hindus need to be converted to Islam, because if they don’t become Muslims, they will burn in hell. He projected the act of conversions as kindness being offered to the Hindus.

Over the last few weeks, Param Bir Singh – the Mumbai Commissioner of Police has become the focal point of severe criticism across social media platforms. One of the major reasons for Singh being under fire is the criticism thrown in the way of Mumbai Police over the investigation done in Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

The controversy began after Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh addressed a press conference to claim that it had come to the notice of Mumbai Police that the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput was suffering from a bipolar disorder and undergoing treatment for it. The Mumbai Police Commissioner had claimed that the actor Sushant Singh Rajput had searched for words like ‘painless death’, ‘schizophrenia’ and ‘bipolar disorder’ before his death.

However, the ‘suicide theory’ pushed by the Mumbai Police was soon questioned after there were contrary reports to Param Bir Singh’s claims. A Times Now report had suggested that the actor had searched for properties, farms in Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, and Coorg before his death, which was contrary to Singh’s claims.

A few days later, Param Bir Singh had embroiled in another major controversy after he was found ‘liking’ a tweet bullying and attempting to publicly shame the Bollywood actress. Kangana Ranaut had accused him of bullying and attempting to encourage people to publicly shame her. However, after facing severe embarrassment over their insensitive act on social media, Mumbai Police had responded on the matter claiming that they had never liked any such image. 

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Param Bir Singh has involved in such controversies. In fact, Param Bir Singh and controversies go hand-in-hand as in his career spanning nearly three-decades Singh’s name has appeared in various high-profile controversies.

Param Bir Singh gave clean chit to Ajit Pawar in irrigation scam

Param Bir Singh, IPS officer of the 1988-batch, was appointed as the Mumbai police commissioner in February this year. Singh, prior to his appointment as the Mumbai Police, he was the Director-General (DG) of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

Param Bir Singh’s tenure at the Maharashtra ACB was also controversial. In December last year, the ACB under Singh had given a clean chit to then Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar in the irrigation scam. Ajit Pawar was accused in a scam involving 12 Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation (VIDC) projects.

Param Bir Singh accused of framing false drug charges

According to Indian Express, in 2009, Param Bir Singh was accused of falsely framing the co-owner of Provogue, Salil Chaturvedi in a drug case. During his tenure as ACP Western Zone, Singh and his team had arrested Salil Chaturvedi in connection with the drug case. However, years later in 2009, Chaturvedi was finally acquitted for lack of evidence.

Following the release of Chaturvedi, the Bombay High Court had directed the Pune-based State CID to conduct an investigation into the role of policemen. After the investigation, the Maharashtra CID had found that some police officers had planted cocaine in Chaturvedi’s residence.

According to Mumbai Mirror, Ashok Bhosale – one of the policemen who raided Salil Chaturvedi had confessed that he was asked to plant drugs in the residence of the businessman on the instructions of senior police officers. Later, interestingly, Bhosale had retracted his confessions to the CID. The CID had alleged that the retraction by Bhosale was due to the alleged interference of Param Bir Singh.

Allegations of torture against Param Bir Singh

One of the most controversial tenures of Param Bir Singh was during his days at the ATS. Param Bir Singh, who was the Additional Commissioner of Police (ATS), was accused of severe torture by current Bhopal MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Sadhvi.

According to a Zee News report, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur had alleged that she was subjected to extreme torture by the Mumbai ATS to make her forcefully confess to her role in the alleged ‘saffron terror case’. Making serious allegations against then members of the Mumbai ATS, Sadhvi Pragya had disclosed that ATS officers including Param Bir Singh had kept her in illegal detention and tortured her for 13 days.

Sadhvi Pragya had alleged that Khanvilkar, Parambir Singh and (late) Hemant Karkare – all men – tortured her. Never before or after Independence, a woman has been tortured like she was, Sadhvi Pragya had said.

“ATS officials threatened to strip me and hang me upside down if I did not confess about my involvement in the blast. I am mentally disturbed and not able to eat anything,” Sadhvi had told before a judge in 2008.

Another accused and retired army officer Ramesh Upadhyay had also made similar accusations against Singh saying he was tortured by Additional Commissioner of Police (ATS) Parambir Singh and Sukhwinder Singh in custody.

“Parambir and Sukhwinder physically abused me and then threatened to parade my wife and daughter naked in the police station and get them raped by all the officers here,” Upadhyay had said.

Petition against Param Bir Singh for dereliction of duty during 26/11 terror attack

In 2009, soon after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, a petition was filed against Parambir Singh and three other additional commissioners of police on the charges of dereliction of duty during the Mumbai terror attack.

A Public interest litigation (PIL) seeking action against these officers and their suspension on the charges that officers such as Param Bit Singh had failed to follow orders of the then police commissioner.

The petitioner had claimed that had the senior officers obeyed the orders, the terror situation would have been brought under control much earlier and many lives could have been saved. The petitions said that if the officers had acted properly, two more terrorists could have been caught alive.

The petition had quoted former Mumbai Police Commissioner Hasan Gafoor as saying that these officers had disobeyed his orders and failed to perform their during the Mumbai terror attack. The petition said that the officers had refused to combat with the terrorists and preferred to stay away from the trouble-zones and made false reports to the control room and records.

A supporter of Donald Trump, bin Ladin lives in Switzerland but considers herself an American at heart.

Her branch of the family has always spelt ‘Ladin’ differently than the way her terrorist uncle spelt it. Her mother, Carmen Dufour, is a Swiss author and her father is Yeslam bin Ladin, an older half brother of the 9/11 mastermind. Her parents have divorced and she, along with her sisters, were raised in Switzerland.

“ISIS proliferated under the Obama/Biden administration, leading to them coming to Europe. Trump has shown he protects America and us by extension from foreign threats by obliterating terrorists at the root and before they get a chance to strike,” bin Ladin, 33, told NYP in her first-ever interview.

“I have been a supporter of President Trump since he announced he was running in the early days in 2015. I have watched from afar and I admire this man’s resolve,” she stated. “He must be reelected … It’s vital for the future of not only America, but western civilization as a whole.” She also raised her concerns with the apparent alliance between the Left and Radical Islam.

Noor bin Ladin said, “You look at all the terrorist attacks that have happened in Europe over the past 19 years. They have completely shaken us to the core … [Radical Islam] has completely infiltrated our society. In the US it’s very worrying that the left has aligned itself completely with the people who share that ideology.”

Noor bin Ladin often wears Donald Trump’s famous ‘Make America Great Again’ (MAGA) hat, much to the consternation of those around her. She recounted one occasion when she was accosted for wearing that hat. She considers the United States her second home and keeps herself aware of the nitty gritty of American politics. Her favourite television show is ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ on Fox News.

Raised without any religion, Noor bin Ladin is not too fond of US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. She believes that it is a honour to be able to live in the US and suggested that if Omar hates the US so much, she should leave.

In a shocking act, a coronavirus positive girl was brutally raped by an ambulance driver while being taken to hospital in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district.

According to the reports, the ambulance driver identified as Noufal, who hails from Alappuzha district, was part of the state health department’s 108 ambulance service. Noufal picked up two coronavirus patients in an ambulance, who were to be dropped to two different hospitals.

Reportedly, Noufal dropped the first patient to a local hospital and took the girl to a lonely place and raped her. Later, the patient reached the hospital and narrated the incident to the hospital staff. The hospital staff soon informed the police. A medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape.

Rape accused Noufal also wanted in a murder case

Based on the statement of the victim, the Kerala police has arrested the ambulance driver Noufal. Noufal also is lodged in a special room in a police station at Pathanamthitta after the victim was tested positive for the coronavirus.

Shockingly, Noufal is also an accused in a murder case registered against him in 2019. He has been actively taking part in the ongoing coronavirus operations in the state. Following the incident, questions are being raised against the Pinarayi Vijayan-led state government regarding how an accused in the murder did get the job in the first place.

Amidst the dangerous rape cases in Kerala, the Communist-ruled state has also seen an increasing number of coronavirus cases recently. In a recent surge, Kerala reported 2,655 new coronavirus cases on Saturday alone, the highest ever reported in a single day.

Kerala now accounts for 84,758 coronavirus cases in the country. The death toll in Kerala has mounted to 337 with 11 deaths reported on Saturday.

Ministry of Culture withdraws book that called Moplah Massacre architects ‘martyrs’ following intervention by state unit

The Ministry of Culture has withdrawn the 5th volume of the Dictionary of Martyrs from its website which was published in collaboration with the Indian Council of Historical Research. As we had reported earlier, the 5th volume in question eulogised the chief architects of the Moplah Massacre, Variankunnath Kunhamad Haji and Ali Musliyar, and deemed them to be martyrs. The 5th volume has now been withdrawn from its website.

The 5th volume of the book, that contained the problematic portions, was withdrawn following the intervention of the state unit of the BJP and the central government. The website of the ministry that has all the books, now does not display the 5th volume of the series that was mentioned in the article.

The Moplah Massacre was a campaign of Jihad against Hindus that led to the murder of hundreds and thousand of Hindus and forced countless more to leave Kerala. Sexual violence and the desecration of Hindu Temples was rampant during the massacre. Luminaries such as Babasaheb Ambedkar and Annie Besant condemned the campaign of Jihad that it was. The 5th Volume of the ‘Dictionary of Martyrs’ described its chief architects as martyrs. It has now been withdrawn from its website.

Final map of proposed design of Ram Mandir approved, to accommodate 1 lakh devotees. Read details

The construction work of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir is gaining momentum in Ayodhya. According to reports, machines have arrived to drill the ground for the base pillars. There will be 1,200 pillars with a depth of 200 feet to provide support to the structure. As per the final design, the temple will be 161 feet tall, and the temple premises will cover 67 acres of the land. The trust has deposited Rs 2.11 crore as development charges, maintenance fees, and labour cess to ADA. ADA has approved the site as religious/fair ground, orchard, spiritual ground, and tourist residence.

Paperwork and permissions completed

After Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan on 5th August, the trust started to complete paperwork related to ownership, site map, design, etc. On 29th August, the trust submitted a proposed map of the temple. They also submitted 4,000 pages of documents related to the temple to the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA). It contained the detailed plan of the site spread over 67 acres. The trust has already got approvals from fire and electricity departments and approval for earthquake resistant measures for the temple.

The temple will not fall under the restrictions by the Airports Authority of India as it is located 6.5 KM away from the airstrip in Ayodhya. As per the regulations, permission has to be sought by the Airport Authorities if a building is to be constructed in close premises to an airport. Similarly, as the temple is not in close proximity to three places with historical importance that are Mani Parvat, Kuber Parvat, and Sugreev Parvat, the trust does not have to take NOC from the Archaeological Department.

Temple will be able to accommodate over one lakh devotees

According to Kameshwar Chaupal, a trust member, the temple will have space to accommodate over 1 lakh devotees. To avoid overcrowding in the temple, there will be four gates in three directions. Mahant Satyendra Das said in a statement to Sunday Express that several stones with names of essential temples would be put up at the temple entrance. There are 85 such stones, and three will remain in the temple.

Mahant said, “In the past, there were stones installed at the entrances of all the main temples and spots of religious importance. We have found around 85 such stones so far. Three of them marked as Sumitra Bhawan, Sita Rasoi and the Ram Janmabhoomi will be inside the temple. The Ram Janmabhoomi stone is the closest to the garbhgrih less than 100 metres, and we have not touched it. Removing that will change the whole look and meaning of the garbhgrih.”

Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan took place on 5th August in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leaders of the Ram Mandir movement and saints. In November 2019, the Supreme Court of India granted permission to construct Ram Mandir while putting an end to the decades-long fight over the disputed land in Ayodhya. A trust was formed by the government of India in February 2020 to manage Mandir construction.

Anti-Hindu Delhi Riots: One accused Mustaquim Saifi arrested in Rahul Solanki murder case in Shiv Vihar

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested Mustaquim Saifi for killing Rahul Solanki in Shiv Vihar adjoining the Rajdhani school during the anti-Hindu Delhi riots in the national capital. A weapon has also been reportedly recovered from him.

The arrest of Saifi by Delhi police in connection with the murder of Rahul Solanki comes after the police had charged seven Muslim men for his murder based on CCTV footage, witness statements, and call records.

In June, the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police had filed a charge sheet in the murder of 27-year-old Rahul Solanki, who was killed by the Muslim mob during the Anti-Hindu riots that broke out in Shiv Vihar in Delhi in February.

The charge-sheet had stated that Solanki was murdered near his house in Dayal Pur area around 5 pm on February 24 during the communal riots that took place near Shiv Vihar.

Rahul Solanki, a resident of Shiv Vihar, was pursuing his LLB from a private college in Ghaziabad. He had stepped out from his residence to buy milk when he was shot in the right shoulder near his neck by rioters in Shiv Vihar. He was shot dead when he was standing near Pal dairy street adjoining Rajdhani school.

Earlier, one of the accused, Salman had confessed to the police that he knew Rahul very well as Rahul’s brother Rohit used to play cricket with his group. Salman had said to the police that he had joined the violent Muslim mob and unleashed terror on the streets of Delhi “to save Islam”.

The killing of Ramesh Solanki had occurred close to Anil Sweets, where the Muslim mobs had killed and burnt down another Hindu youth Dilbar Singh Negi on February 24.

Shiv Vihar – one of the most affected areas in the Anti-Hindu Delhi riots

The Shiv Vihar Tiraha, which lies in the jurisdiction of three police stations – Karwal Nagal, Dayalpur and Gokulpuri, was one of the most affected areas during the Anti-Hindu Delhi riots in the national capital.

The Shiv Vihar Tiraha violence was especially brutal against Hindus. On the afternoon of 24th February, the first body that was found was that of Dilbar Negi. His hands and legs were chopped off, and the rest of him was burnt right in front of Rajdhani school in Anil Sweets.

In Shiv Vihar Tiraha, one of those most sinister plans hatched was executed from the rooftop of Rajdhani School. Islamist mobs fired guns, threw bottles full of acid, stones etc from the rooftop of Rajdhani school which is owned by one Faizal Farooqui.

After the Narcotics Crime Bureau (NCB) served the summons to actress Rhea Chakraborty in connection to the drug case associated with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, her lawyer Satish Maneshinde has dubbed the case as a ‘witchhunt’. He claimed that Rhea was paying the price for loving her boyfriend Sushant.

“Rhea Chakraborty is ready for arrest as it’s a witch-hunt. If loving someone is a crime she’ll face the consequences of her love. Being innocent, she hasn’t approached any court for an anticipatory bail in all cases foisted by Bihar Police with CBI, ED & NCB”, advocate Satish was quoted as saying.

On Sunday morning, the NCB reached the residence of Rhea in Mumbai and served her summons to join the investigation. While speaking on the matter, a senior official said, “The team has gone to serve the summons for joining investigation. She (Rhea) can come on her own or she can come with the team.” Rhea Chakraborty has currently reached NCB office for interrogation.

The Narcotics Crime Bureau informed that it wanted to question Rhea, her brother Showik, Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda to unearth the individual roles played by them in the alleged drug racket. The investigative agency has also recovered electronic data and phone chat records that indicated that restricted and banned drugs were being frequently used by the accused.

Along with the confession of procuring drugs on the instructions of his sister, Times Now earlier reported that Rhea’s brother Showik, now in NCB custody, had also admitted to the NCB that he used Rhea’s credit card for the payments to Samuel Miranda for drug purchase. Digital connections of as many as 12 transactions have been traced which showed that the drugs payment were made through Rhea’s credit cards. Samuel Miranda has also reportedly confessed that he was procuring drugs for Sushant’s house. Showik and Samuel were arrested on Friday by the NCB.

Amid speculations of imminent arrest, Rhea Chakraborty reaches NCB office for interrogation

As Rhea Chakraborty reached Narcotics Control Bureau’s Head Quarters, speculations of her subsequent arrest have started to make rounds as her brother Showik during interrogation on Friday named her as the one for whom he bought drugs. According to Times Now, several areas at the NCB HQ were being sanitized ahead of her interrogation. As there will be many people present on the premises, as per the Covid-19 guidelines, the sanitization process has to be completed before the interrogation starts.

As per live media reports, heavy security and police force have been deployed outside the NCB office.

Possible questions Rhea may have to face after Showik’s confession

Showik Chakraborty, on Friday, reportedly confessed that he bought drugs for Rhea. He, along with Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda was interrogated for ten hours by NCB on Friday. Samuel confessed as well that he used to buy drugs on the behest of Showik for Sushant. There were transactions between Samuel and Showik.
