Dear liberals, don’t communalize a metaphor like “Go To Pakistan”

Social media has been in turmoil today over a video that supposedly shows a Meerut police officer told a group of persons to “Go to Pakistan.” Unfortunately, the police personnel in question had been faced with a mob raising slogans of Pakistan Zindabad and possibly threatening to pelt stones.

News 18 report

Liberal commentators, left-wing propagandists and Islamist politicians have now seized upon these words to claim that law enforcement action by UP police is some kind of crackdown on dissent. They have been trying to draw comparisons with the worst excess and purges that happened under authoritarian regimes, ironically most of them leftist or Islamist.

However, taking words like “Go to Pakistan” literally shows a high level of cultural illiteracy among the intellectuals of India. And a refusal to understand the poetic metaphors used by common people on the street.

The expression “Go to Pakistan” must actually be read in the cultural context in which these words are said.

The word ‘Pakistan’ is used to refer to the proverbial enemy. This enemy could be anything. Like poverty or unemployment or untapped human resource potential.

So when the UP policeman told the group to “Go to Pakistan,” he was actually lamenting about how these folks are ruining their lives when they are led astray by unscrupulous politicians spreading misinformation against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

Thus, “Go to Pakistan” is a line that rebukes Indians who are not living up to their human resource potential. It is a nationwide slogan of resistance. That we will not fall for the devices of those who mislead us.

Do not communalize the words “Go to Pakistan.” It’s a poetic metaphor. And we all know that any kind of imagery, no matter how offensive, is automatically accepted as long as it is a metaphor.

Taking the expression literally would be culturally illiterate. And we would never want that, do we?

Anti-CAA riots: Meerut SP warns Muslim mob against shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans, ‘secular’ media takes offence, peddles lies

In yet another attempt to white-wash the crimes perpetrated by Muslim mobs across the country, especially of Uttar Pradesh (UP), the “liberal-secular” media, opposition parties and Islamists have resorted to spreading concocted stories to discredit actions of the police officials who braved to stop the communal riots perpetrated by Muslim riots during the anti-CAA protests. This time, the propaganda is against the Meerut, Uttar Pradesh SP.

In one such incident, the Congress party and its media ecosystem resorted to peddling false propaganda against a senior officer of the Uttar Pradesh police. A new video of Uttar Pradesh police warning Muslim rioters in Meerut have surfaced across social media platforms in which a senior officer is warning people of the locality after four Muslim youth had shouted pro-Pakistan slogans during the anti-CAA riots.

The “liberal-secular” media establishment carefully edited a specific video to portray that a senior police officer in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district was asking residents of a Muslim-dominated locality to “go to Pakistan” during a “protest” against the amended Citizenship Act on December 20.

However, in reality, the SP was not telling the Muslim men to go to Pakistan. Instead, he was warning four individuals who had shouted pro-Pakistan slogans during the anti-CAA riots. The SP was informing the locals to warn those four individuals that they should go to Pakistan if these ‘four youth’ loved the Islamic country so much.

It can be clearly seen in the video that local Muslims also agreed with the police that shouting pro-Pakistan slogans were wrong.

The officer can be heard saying, Yeh jo kaali aur peeli patti baande huye hain inse keh do Pakistan chale jao…khaoge yahan ka, gaoge kahin aur ka… Yeh gali mujhe yaad ho gayi hai. Aur jab mujhe yaad ho jaata hai toh mein naani tak pahunch jaata hun (The ones tying black and yellow bands, tell them to go to Pakistan. You eat here but sing praises of another place… This lane is now familiar to me. And once I remember, I can even reach your grandmother).”

This false propaganda was first reported in Indian Express, which claimed that Meerut City SP Akhilesh N Singh was caught on camera asking protesters to “go to Pakistan” if they did not want to live in India. However, Indian Express had at least added the context. Others did not bother.

There was a very specific context to what the SP said. He was only responding to the youth who had shouted pro-Pakistan slogans. However, this aspect was carefully hidden by the media. The media then tried to portray that the SP harboured Muslim hate and had unilaterally simply told Muslims to go live in Pakistan.

Soon, NDTV latched on to this fake news and reported that Meerut police had asked the Muslims to “Go to Pakistan”.

As soon as NDTV peddled the half-truth regarding the incident, Gandhi-scion Priyanka Gandhi also resorted to similar propaganda and blamed BJP for “communally poisoning the institutions” which according to her led to such incidents.

The Congress media ecosystem soon followed Priyanka Gandhi to abuse Meerut SP Akhilesh N Singh. Former NDTV news anchor Barkha Dutt too shared half-truths regarding the Meerut without making an effort to comprehend the facts of the matter.

Other ‘Journalists’ also joined the bandwagon to spread propaganda against the Uttar Pradesh police after they shared misleading reports.

Following the controversy, Akhilesh Narayan Singh, Meerut SP spoke to the media, said that some boys raised Pakistan zindabad slogans and started running. He added that he told them that if they wanted to raise Pakistan zindabad slogans and hate India so much then they must go to Pakistan. We are trying to identify them, said Akhilesh N Singh.

Several towns and cities in Uttar Pradesh especially Meerut witnessed widespread violent protests over the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act. The anti-CAA rioters, who ran amok, under the pretext of peaceful protests, blatantly indulged in arson, vandalism and stone-pelting in opposition to the bill that aims to naturalise persecuted minorities from the three neighbouring countries.

In Meerut, soon after the Friday prayers, a crowd of people wearing black bands came out from the Jama Masjid at around 2 pm to protest against the enactment of the Citizenship Amendment Bill. When police tried to stop them, they started chanting slogans against the police after which the police lathi-charged them. After that, 15-20 miscreants reached the Lisadi gate intersection and started creating ruckus there. As the crowd kept swelling, the protestors started throwing stones at the police forces.

Four rioters-Asif(20), Mohsin(25), Zaheer(25) and Asif(25) were killed in police retaliation. 50 policemen were also injured in stone-pelting and other violent incidents, 3 of them were shot bullets at by the ‘protestors’ protesting against the CAA.

Later, in the aftermath of violent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), CCTV footage from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh emerged in which it was seen two men firing at cops during the protests in Meerut last Friday. In one of the videos, a masked man in a blue jacket is seen walking around with a gun.

As many as 288 policemen were injured in violence that erupted across 21 districts. Sixty-two of them suffered firearm injuries. The police officials had even recovered 500 cartridges of prohibited bores from places where violence broke out across the state.

With Muslim mobs resorting to large scale communal riots across the country, the liberal-secular establishment of the country has been backing them by whitewashing their crimes and indulging in propaganda against the police officials by pushing such false and concocted stories to discredit the police officials, who are facing deadly attacks by the Muslim rioters.

Pakistan: Minor boy raped over 100 times and tortured by Madarsa teacher, victim rushed to hospital as blood starting oozing out of his eyes

A Madarsa teacher, identified as Shamsuddin, along with three associates, sexually assaulted a 10-year-old minor boy for over a hundred times in Pakistan’s Manshera district. Shamsuddin and his accomplices not only raped the minor but also inflicted inhumanely torture upon the victim while performing the heinous crime.

According to reports, the minor was rushed to the hospital as blood started to ooze out from his eyes as a result of repeated and brutal sexual abuse. It was further reported that the victim needed to be shifted Ayub Medical Complex located in Abbottabad, Pakistan as his health condition continued to deteriorate.

After receiving the initial medical report, police have lodged a case against the Madarsa teacher while raids were being carried out to nab the absconders.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister taking cognisance of the incident, instructed authorities to arrest the culprits at the earliest.

Cases of sexual abuse and assault on children in the Islamic nation’s Madarsas are as common and rampant as it is in India.

In August, shocking details of child abuse had flooded the internet as former Bangladeshi students had resorted to social media websites to recount stories of “rampant” sex exploitation at the hands of their teachers while studying in the madarsas.

Meanwhile, here in India too, accounts of such horrors have become quite common with madarsas. It was reported how a madarsa cleric from Kathumar village of Alwar district in Rajasthan had abducted a minor girl from the village and forcibly taken her to Hyderabad where he raped her multiple times in a guestroom of a mosque there.

Before this incident, we reported how a teacher in a madarsa in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar allegedly used the CCTV cameras in the madarsa to watch girl students as they changed clothes. These are, however, just a few out of the numerous cases of rampant child abuse going on inside madarsas.

Mamata Banerjee ‘swears’ there won’t be any detention camps in West Bengal: Here is how she is lying

As the ongoing debate over the Citizenship Amendment Act, the National Register of Citizens and the National Population Register has extended to the matter of detention centres, yesterday West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that no detention centre will be built in the state. Detention centres are meant to keep foreign nationals arrested for illegally entering and staying in the country, along with other crimes, pending their deportation to their native countries.

While speaking at an event in Naihati in North 24 Pargama district, the CM said that she would not allow detention centres to be built in West Bengal till she is alive. She said, “they are saying detention camps will be set up here. But who is in power here? I am ready to give my life but I will not allow BJP to set up detention camps in Bengal, never! Even if I have to die for it, I won’t allow.” Mamata Banerjee added, “No one has to leave the country or the state. There won’t be any detention centre in Bengal.”

Although the WB CM has said there would not be any detention centre in the state, the fact is that the state government has already decided to set up two detention centres. In November this year, it was reported that the West Bengal government had decided to build two detention centres to keep foreign nationals arrested on various charges. Although the govt had said that these centres are not linked to NRC, and they were being built to keep foreigners arrested for various crimes. The government has also identified two places, while one centre is to be built at the New Town area near the Salt Lake City, the other centre will be in Bongaon in North 24 Parganas district.

Read- Detention Centres are nothing like Concentration Camps, Congress built them in Assam too: Here is all you need to know

The detention centres are being built as per Supreme Court directives. The apex court had ruled that arrested foreign nationals, both under trial and convicted, should not be kept in regular jails with local inmates, and they should be kept in separate detention centres or camps.

In West Bengal, 250 foreign nationals were arrested last year, and 140 of them were sent back, while the remaining 110 persons are lodged in regular jails for various crimes like drug trafficking, cybercrime, overstaying in India etc. Apart from that, WB also have the highest number of foreigners kept in jails for illegally entering the country. According to the 2017 prison statistics compiled by National Crime Records Bureau, 2,316 foreigners were lodged in the jails of West Bengal.

The provision for detention centres is there in the Foreigners Act, 1946 and Foreigners Order 1948, along with the order of Supreme Court. But by opposing detention centres, Mamata Banerjee and other opposition leaders are disrespecting the law and the apex court. Moreover, without dedicated detention centres for foreign nationals, the foreigners arrested for various reasons will have to be kept in regular jails, which are already overcrowded.

Deposed Deputy Mayor of Srinagar Imran Sheikh, who had once boasted of his ties with ISI, arrested by ACB for corruption

0

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested the deputy mayor of Srinagar, Imran Sheikh, in connection with JK Bank loan fraud case. The Deputy Mayor of Srinagar is accused of massive corruption and to have taken a loan of Rs 138 crores for illegal appropriation of subsidy given to his company for setting up of a Controlled Atmosphere (CA) store at Lassipora, Pulwama.

Press release by ACB

Sheikh was earlier deposed from the position of deputy mayor after a no-confidence motion was passed against him by corporators of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation.

The ACB registered a case against  Imran, the Director of Srinagar-based Kehwa Square, some officers of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and other government officials for alleged illegal appropriation of the subsidy with an inflated project cost for establishment of CA storage at Lassipora in Pulwama.

In the inspection carried out by a joint team of various authorities and government officials, the cost of the project was assessed to be around Rs 33 crore, the ACB spokesman said. Out of the 33 crores, the subsidy component amounted to 50 per cent of the project cost(EPC)- Rs 16.50 crore, as per norms of the Horticulture Mission for North East and Himalayan (HMNEH).

It was also unearthed during the investigation that the Kehwa Group has six more business units and Sheikh Imran had raised separate loan facilities and overdrafts for these units.

“The arrears on account of loan accumulated to Rs 138 crore. Imran sought a one-time settlement with the JK Bank authorities as one of the companies, Kehwa Square had turned into a non-performing asset. Sheikh hatched a conspiracy with Kehwa Group partners and JK Bank officials to settle the loan of Rs 138 crores for a mere Rs 78 crores,” the agency said.

According to the ACB investigation, large amounts of the loan was directed which was meant for construction of the CA store. The ACB is currently investigating the case to unravel more details about bank fraud.

It is noteworthy to mention that Sheikh had earlier boasted about his ties to ISI top brass and his close links with Hizbul commander Riyaz Naikoo. In a shocking revelation, Imran had also claimed that he can have Sajjad Lone and Srinagar mayor Junaid Azim Mattoo assassinated.

Interestingly, Sheikh Mohammad Imran has urged Kashmiris to prefix their names with ‘mujahid’ and send a message that the term is in no way related to terrorism and defeat in the elections those who have been inciting Communal passions.

Swara Bhaskar’s mindless rant: Wants UP police to maintain law and order but says police should not retaliate against violent mob

The white-washing of the crimes perpetrated by Muslim mobs against the police officials during the anti-CAA protests have already begun with “liberal-secular” media, opposition parties and Islamists giving clean-chit to violent rioters and instead have pushed all the blame on the state police who tried to stop the Muslim rioters from unleashing more violence.

Continuing this trend, Swara Bhaskar, one of the key ultra-left-wing freelance protestors, also on Thursday put the blame on the Uttar Pradesh police for their alleged excess against the rioters and went on to make a mindless rant by claiming that UP police was up for “revenge” against the rioters.

Speaking to a news reporter, former junior artist Swara Bhaskar exposed her lack of awareness regarding the violent protests of Muslim mob across the country and gave a clean chit to the mobs that went on a rampage. According to Swara, the UP police should not have retaliated against the mobs despite the latter indulging in violent stone-pelting.

Read- Actor-cum-cocktail politician, Swara Bhasker, refers to a four-year-old child actor as ‘chu**ya’ in a ‘comedy’ show

Swara, on the one hand, blamed the Uttar Pradesh for failing to maintain law and order of the state when Muslim mobs unleashed riots on the streets. Later, contradicting herself she went on to question the Uttar Pradesh for controlling the riots by retaliating against the violent mob when they pelted stones at the police force.

Swara exposed her hypocrisy when she asserted that UP cops should maintain law and order but those cops doing should not have ‘retaliated’ against violent Muslim mobs and instead, they should take measures to “control” it.

In the video, a journalist can be seen asking the former Bollywood entertainer whether the police officials should have stayed quiet when the mobs pelted stone at them and stated that it was natural for police to retaliate against a violent mob.

Swara Bhaskar who seems to have got irritated after the journalist stated facts, angrily asked, “Are you fighting a war, are you on the border, what is this language. Should the police retaliate or should it control the rioters and establish law and order”.

Bhaskar later foulmouthed the journalist by saying that the problem lies in the mentality of people like him and called him communal. She then went on to claim that the UP government does not consider Muslims as equal citizens.

Later, she peddled half-truths regarding violent incidents that occurred in Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia University by claiming that police entered the university and fired bullets on the students.

Responding to the reporter’s question whether she would appeal to the protestors to understand the law before indulging in violent protests, Swara Bhaskar without any hesitation or shame blamed the government for misleading the public rather than accepting that most of the protestors did not have any clue regarding the CAA that they are protesting against.

In the aftermath of the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act, riots, violence, arson and vandalism by rioting mobs in the name of ‘protests’ against the enactment of the law have taken place across the country.

The Muslim mobs have gone on a rampage across the country to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. These mobs have resorted to extreme violence against police officials including firing bullets and injuring them as they tried to stop these violent mobs from pelting stones. The mobs have also damaged crores worth of public infrastructure including police stations, railway infrastructures to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

NDTV does it again, twists tweet by Yogi Adityanath’s office on how the State cracked down on anti-CAA rioters: Read details

The country has been in the midst of violence unleashed by Muslim mobs after the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was passed by the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. One of the states that have seen the maximum violence by Muslim mobs is Uttar Pradesh, however, the state has taken swift action against the rioters. The Police came down heavily on the rioters and have even started the process to confiscate their property to compensate for the loss to public property. The action by the State against rioters has not gone down well with several ‘secularists’ who wanted the state to let the Muslim mobs run riots. One of them, seem to be the propaganda channel NDTV that habitually peddles fake news.

After the swift action against the rioters, the official Twitter handle of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath tweeted hailing the action sanctioned by the CM.

The tweet posted translates to:

“Every rioter is stunned. Every rowdy/troublemaker is shocked. Watching Yogi government’s strict ways everyone is sitting calmly. Do whatever you wish, rioters will pay for the damage, this is Yogi ji’s announcement. Every violent act will now cry (of fear) because now UP has Yogi govt”.

The tweet by Yogi Adityanath’s office was rather simple. It hailed the tough action by the Yogi government against the rioters who were unleashing violence in the state. However, NDTV had different plans.

NDTV headline

The NDTV headline read, “Shocked Every Protester”: Yogi Adityanath Justifies UP Crackdown”.

The opening paragraph of the NDTV article read, “Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday justified his government’s crackdown on agitations against the Citizenship Amendment Act, saying that the action has “shocked” every protester into silence”.

Read: Congress wants Yogi Adityanath to resign because he would not let Islamists and politicians burn UP during anti-CAA riots

The NDTV seems to have deliberately mistranslated Yogi Adityanath’s Office’s tweet to present a false picture. The headline and the first paragraph of the NDTV article suggest that Yogi Adityanath was deliberately cracking down on peaceful protestors and then, was boasting about the crackdown.

However, that is not what Yogi Adityanath Office’s tweet had said.

The headline has the word ‘shocked’ and hence, it is reasonable to believe that the headline was NDTV’s translation of the second line of the tweet which read, “हर उपद्रवी हैरान है”. The word ‘उपद्रवी’ when translated into English would mean a troublemaker or a rowdy person, thereby implying that the tweet was talking about the crackdown on rioters. However, NDTV has chosen to translate the word ‘उपद्रवी’ to ‘protestor’.

Read: UP police arrest PFI’s Uttar Pradesh head Waseem for allegedly masterminding violence during anti-CAA protests

In Hindi, if one were to write ‘protestor’, one would write ‘प्रदर्शनकारी’ and not ‘उपद्रवी’.

Thus, the correct representation of Yogi Adityanath’s tweet would roughly be “All the rioters are shocked (to see police action)” and not “shocked all protestors”. NDTV changed the meaning of the entire sentence completely from ‘rioters being shocked’ to ‘the government shocking protestors with its actions’.

Read: Congress demonises CM Yogi Adityanath for taking action against anti-CAA rioters in Uttar Pradesh, tweets distorted map of India

This nefarious misreporting by NDTV is in tune with the opposition’s insinuations and allegations that the Uttar Pradesh government came down heavily on peaceful protestors. The Congress has a political reason to shut its eyes to violent Muslim mobs, however, one wonders why a media entity would follow suit.

The state of Uttar Pradesh had indeed witnessed large-scale violence pertaining to the anti-CAA protests. However, as the police reports have substantiated, a large number of the violent incidents accompanying these protests were meticulously planned and plotted beforehand by the Islamists who participated in thousands to express their discontent with the passage of the Bill that intends to grant citizenship to the persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

In one such incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh, a frenzied mob of Islamists masquerading as students ran riot and broke the University’s Bab-e-Syed gate. Subsequently, the crazed mob of hoodlums pelted stones at the law enforcement officials, provoking them to initiate crackdown against them. The video evidence shattered the leftist cabal’s false assertions that the UP Police had broken down the AMU gate and that they had forcibly barged in the hostels to pick up the protestors.

Three people associated with the radical Islamic organisation PFI, including UP state head Waseem, have been arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police for engineering violence by spreading misinformation through social media platforms. Besides, Samajwadi Party’s Sambhal MP was also arrested by the police for inciting mobs to embrace violent means while a case was registered by police against several accused persons including Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders Shafiqur Rahman Barq and Feroz Khan for indulging in violent protests in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh.

Recently, the Congress party had too tweeted deriding the Yogi Adityanath government for its action against rioters. It would almost seem like a section of the media and the Congress party are on cohorts and wanted the state government to let the Muslim mobs run amock, riot and indulge into violence.

Rajasthan: Muslims burn Ajmer Dargah Diwan’s effigies after he asked them not to fear CAA, Sarwar Chisty demands act be repealed

On Friday, Muslim protestors burnt the effigy of the spiritual head of Ajmer Dargah, Dargah Deewan Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan after he said Muslims living in India need not fear the CAA and had appealed to the government not to implement the law till discussions with protestors are held.

Reportedly, a large number of Muslims, including the Khadims joined the rally against CAA, which took place after Friday prayers and demanded that the government withdraw the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). During the protest, they also burnt an effigy of Deewan Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, the spiritual head of the Ajmer Dargah and accused him of misleading Muslims on the issue of the CAA.

“The Centre should repeal the Act, which is an attack on the Preamble of the Constitution. The government should also say that the NRC (National Register of Citizens) will not be implemented (countrywide),” said Sarwar Chisty, a Khadim of the dargah.

Amidst Muslim mobs going on a rampage across the country, Deewan Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, the spiritual head had last week urged Muslims not to fear against the CAA stating that the new legislation was not against Muslims. However, he had also urged the Centre to implement the amended Act only after allaying the fear over it.

Later, Khan also demanded that the government stopped the implementation of the amended Citizenship Act and wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard.

In the aftermath of the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act, riots, violence, arson and vandalism by rioting mobs in the name of ‘protests’ against the enactment of the law have taken place across the country.

Karnataka: DK Shivakumar ‘purchases’ land and ‘donates’ for tallest Jesus statue, Govt says land meant for grazing, seeks report

A controversy has erupted in Karnataka on Friday over the issue of senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar sponsoring the construction of a 114-foot statue of Jesus Christ after the ruling BJP government sought a report from local authorities regarding the status of the land that was earmarked for the project.

Reportedly, the Yediyurappa government has decided to take a relook at the land sanctioned by former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. Revenue Minister R Ashoka said the land allotted was gomal (grazing) and not a barren one as claimed by Shivakumar. “I have asked the deputy commissioner of Ramanagara district to submit a report on the land allotment,” he added.

Earlier, the office of Shivakumar has stated that the Congress leader was utilising his own funds to purchase 10 acres of land at Kapalibetta from the government for the trust that is constructing the statue and claimed it would become the tallest monolithic statue of Jesus in the world. On December 25, Shivakumar had laid the foundation at a prayer meet and handed over the title deed for the project.

However, senior minister R Ashoka speaking on the ownership of the land said that the land was not Shivakumar’s property but a government gomala land. “I don’t know in what sense he (Shivakumar) has said he has purchased and given it… no one can donate it to anyone,” R Ashoka added.

Amidst rumours in the social media that Kapalibetta is now being called “Yesubetta”, the minister said, “For thousands of years it has been known as Kapalibetta, and for no reason, we will allow its name to be changed,” he said, adding the land was given for the sake of development and not to hand over it to others.

Meanwhile, DK Shivakumar move to ‘donate’ land for Jesus Christ statue in Karnataka has invited sharp criticism from the BJP with former Union minister Ananthkumar Hegde attacked him by saying, “A Tihar returned gentleman is trying to please his Italian mother for a post by demonstrating his gallantry through a statue of Jesus Christ. It will not be surprising if more Ghulams (slaves) from the Congress jumped into the arena of appeasement politics.”

Karnataka BJP minister KS Eshwarappa ridiculed Shivakumar by saying that the Congress party which had opposed the construction of Ram temple was installing the statue of Jesus Christ.  In a tweet, he mentioned that Jesus Christ was born in the Vatican, instead of Bethlehem.

“To impress their leader, those in the Congress, who opposed the construction of a grand temple dedicated to Lord Ram, born in our holy country, are going to build from their own money a statue of Jesus, who was born in the Vatican,” Eshwarappa tweeted.

Another BJP MP from Mysuru, Partap Simha, questioned the motive behind installing the statue and demanded to know whether it was a scheme to convert Vokkaligas of Kanakapura. In a tweet, he asked Shivakumar whether he had forgotten seers of Mutts like Siddaganga, Suttur and Adichunchanagiri.

“Erecting the statute of Shivakumara Swamiji (Siddaganga mutt) would have been like a crown on Kapalibetta- isn’t it?”, he tweeted.

Out-on-bail Congress leader DK Shivakumar had inaugurated the proposed statue on December 25 at Harobele village in Kanakapura, a predominantly Christian locality. The proposed 114-feet statue will come up at Kapalibetta. The title deed of the 10-acres land was handed over to a trust by DK Shivakumar on Christmas.

The total height of the statue will be 114 feet, 13 feet of the statue would be comprised of steps, which have already been laid. The foundation stone laying process was done by worshipping the stone on the right foot segment of the Lord.

Marxist historians like Romila Thapar did present a ‘rose tinted’ version of Hindu-Muslim unity in Nehruvian textbooks: William Dalrymple admits

Historian and Writer William Dalrymple has acknowledged that the Left-academicians and Nehruvian historians in the country had indeed hijacked History textbooks and turned it into propaganda soon after India attained its independence.

Speaking at the ‘Express Adda’ – a talk show organised by Indian Express in Delhi last week, writer Dalrymple said that it was true that the early Nehruvian textbooks were written by Romila Thapar and other ‘Marxists’. He also said that the Marxists presented a ” rose-tinted vision” of Hindu-Muslim unity running through the whole of the Delhi Sultanate right through the Mughals, which left room for the right-wing to state those books were not history.

Read: Krishna pointing the Eid moon, how the fake propaganda was busted

The host had asked Dalrymple about the eternal ‘right-wing’ grouse that post-independence academia was hijacked by the Left and that the academic part of managing India was ‘given’ to the Left-wing.

William Dalrymple further said that the history textbooks written especially in the 1950s left sufficient room for questioning their authenticity. He, however, claimed that it was a reality that all those Nehruvian historians were great historians which the right-wing successors were not.

Read: Saffron Swords – a book that exposes the lie peddled by Marxist historians that Hindus didn’t have courage

When the host asked Dalrymple whether he means that the right-wing was justified in their grouse, Dalrymple said that history books written by Marxists did present a rose-tinted version of Hindu Muslim unity thereby leaving room for complaint by the right-wing.

William Dalrymple’s statements come at a time when there is a larger debate across the country regarding the credibility and integrity of these Marxist historians, who used ‘textbooks’ as their propaganda tool to indoctrinate their ideology among masses. It is now widely believed that Indian history we read is fabricated.

These history ‘textbooks’ have also been considered to be a handiwork of Nehruvian academicians and Marxist scholars who fear the revival of Hinduism in a largely Hindu country. However, lately, a movement has been gaining traction across the country seeking revisions of India’s history books.
