Google is a division of the parent company Alphabet. Google is the world’s biggest search engine with greater than 90% of the world’s total search marketshare. Company’s primary revenue source in advertising through what it calls Google Ads.

Google was started by Sergey Brin and Larry page in the dotcom era of 1999 and went public in 2004. It has been involved in many controversies since than and the biggest of them have been around user piracy and collecting too much information about users and using that data for profit in unethical ways.

Current CEO is Sundar Pichai who hails from India. The latest controversy about the company has been its blacklisting of right wing sites in search results. Prior to that Google+ was shut down out of data leak concerns.
