The tightening of noose around the criminals in Uttar Pradesh comes in the wake of gangster Atiq Ahmed's killing.

Aman Raja, the Jharkhand resident, declared on Facebook that he wanted to kill CM Yogi Adityanath.

"Now gangsters and mafia cannot threaten businessmen over phone. Uttar Pradesh today promises a better law and order situation," UP CM Yogi Adityanath said.

While Yogi Adityanath is known for his muscular approach to dealing with criminals and mafia syndicates, a lot about the killing of Atiq Ahmed did not particularly make a lot of sense and several questions have emerged ever since.

“As long as there is a BJP government and Baba (Yogi Adityanath) is the chief minister, you (mafias) should either leave the state or shut down activities,” Mahant Raju Das said.
