Senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily has accused the Chief of Indian Air Force of lying about the Rafale Deal and asserted that he is part of the cover-up.

Moily told Network 18 that the Air Chief is being part of the ‘cover up’ and ‘suppressing truth’.
On Wednesday, Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa had said that the Rafale fighter jet is a game changer and the Supreme Court has given a fine judgement by dismissing the petitions against the deal. Replying to a question, Dhanoa had asked “who said we don’t need the Rafale? The government has said it is needed, we have said we need it”.
Earlier in November, Congress President Rahul Gandhi had alleged that Trappier was ‘openly lying’ that Narendra Modi did not coerce his company to get into a joint venture with Anil Ambani led Reliance Defence as a partner for offsets. Dassault CEO Eric Trippier had to come out and rubbished the allegations against him.
Several times, Rahul Gandhi has claimed that the NDA government had stolen the offset business in the Rafale deal from HAL. HAL chairman R Madhavan had to come out and say that the public sector company was not a contender for offset business in the deal to buy 36 Rafale jets. Rahul Gandhi has also falsely claimed that the UPA government had done a deal with the French government at a much lesser cost than the NDA.
Rahul Gandhi had also claimed that the French President Macron had told him in person that there was no secrecy pact around the Rafale Deal. Despite the French Government calling him out on his lie, he has continued to repeat it.
It appears that for Rahul Gandhi and other leaders of the Congress party, only his words are gospel truth. The Indian Government, the French government, the CEO of Dassault, the Chairman of HAL, the Chief of Indian Air Force, everyone is lying.
The Supreme Court had recently dismissed all petitions seeking a court-monitored probe into the Rafale Deal. Congress friendly PIL warriors like Prashant Bhushan and others had filed a PIL in the Supreme Court asking the SC to intervene in the matter. The Court had also made several scathing remarks in its judgment.
