CRPF Jawan deployed for Rabri Devi’s security commits suicide

The CRPF Jawan, named Giriyappa Kirasoor, reportedly shot himself with his service weapon, an Israeli made rifle.

A CRPF jawan posted in the security of RJD supremo Lalu Yadav’s wife and former Chief Minister of Bihar Rabri Devi has reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself. According to media reports, the deceased CRPF jawan was from Karnataka and had returned on duty after spending a few days at his home. The incident happened late night on Friday.

Giriyappa Kirasor, the 29-year-old jawan was from the CRPF’s 122nd battalion and was on security duty at Rabri Devi’s bungalow at Circular Road, Patna. Though the motive of the suicide isn’t clear yet, according to media reports, Giriyappa had some issues in his family.

The jawan reportedly shot himself with his service weapon, an Israeli made rifle. The DSP of the Secretariat confirmed the incident saying that the body has been sent for post-mortem and will be sent to the jawan’s village thereafter.

As per some media reports, the deceased CRPF jawan Giriyappa had a quarrel with his wife over the phone last night. It is presumed that he took this violent step after his conversation with his life. At present, a police investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Rabri Devi has been on a continuous campaign trail for the Lok Sabha elections in the entire state. RJD had formed a pre-poll alliance with Congress and RLSD in Bihar.

Recently, Rabri Devi was in the news for making derogatory remarks against PM Modi. She had likened PM Modi to a ‘Jallad’ and asserted that the PM has got judges and journalists killed.
