Devdutt Pattanaik is like a dog chasing a car, he wouldn’t know what to do with it once he caught it

Devdutt Pattanaik has metamorphosed into this proverbial dog chasing a car. He continues to froth around his mouth, bark and run but doesn't quite know what to do once the car stops.

‘Mythologist’ Devdutt Pattanaik has been having an epic meltdown on Twitter. The ‘Devi’ author has referred to women on Twitter, complete strangers, as ‘chudail’ and ‘bitch’. Continuing his bizarre rant from last night, Pattanaik today morning tweeted a morphed image of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as Goddess Lakshmi and asked for a movement to get Dr Subramanian Swamy to be appointed as Finance Minister in place of Sitharaman.

Sitharaman, visibly bewildered at this bizarre behaviour of Pattanaik, took to Twitter to wonder what is he up to.

At this, Pattanaik then said he may have crossed the line and ‘apologised’.

Only to explain how Sitharaman should have never ‘allowed’ this morphing of image.

He then claims how this image was ‘bad Vastu’ for the economy and he knows it because ‘he reads scriptures’. Wonder which scriptures condone the language in the following tweets of Pattanaik.

Once he realised perhaps ‘reading scriptures’ may not make him learned, he again went on an offensive.

The ‘Shikhandi’ author even resorted to making a homophobic comment, asking someone to go to a dating site for homosexuals.

Which is weird, considering he himself came out of the closet and had openly admitted he’s gay. Pattanaik, in his book ‘Shikhandi: And Other ‘Queer’ Tales They Don’t Tell You’ writes about LGBTQ stories in Hinduism.

Devdutt Pattanaik has metamorphosed into this proverbial dog chasing a car made popular by Heath Ledger who played the role of Joker in The Dark Knight. He continues to froth around his mouth, bark and run but doesn’t quite know what to do once the car stops.

He probably needs medical intervention for the psychotic meltdown he is having. Twitter has been a great leveller in more than one ways. These ‘celebrities’ one had put on a pedestal growing up because of their way with words, like Javed Akhtar and now Devdutt Pattanaik, have fallen from grace because of the way they interact with the ones who are actually their end consumers.

Perhaps it is time Pattanaik uses his gift of words and stops being a bitch.
