Bihar: Saddam Hussein and Farman Khan arrested for kidnapping and raping an 8-year-old girl

The girl was waiting for a bus with her elder sister when Saddam and Farman allegedly forced her into a car and took her away to rape.

An eight-year-old girl was kidnapped and gang-raped in Bihar’s Western Champaran District’s area of Bettiah, on 14th January. The girl was kidnapped by two perpetrators named Saddam Hussein and Farman Khan, who reportedly have confessed their crimes, near Bettiah railway station on Cant road, late Sunday. The victim was raped for nearly four hours, in a moving car and later abandoned near a petrol pump.

According to reports, the victim was at a tea stall near Bettiah railway station, accompanied by her elder sister, and waiting for the bus to go to their maternal uncle’s house in Mainatand thana area. The victim reportedly was sick and was coming with her sister from Narktiyaganj railway station, where the sisters actually lived.

Meanwhile, according to police, the perpetrators came there and asked the elder sister to sit in the car, to which the girl refused. Following which, the perpetrators forcefully snatched the victim and took her with them in the car, towards Mainatand area. The elder sister reported the matter to nearest Mufassil Police Station, where the station in charge Ram Singh lodged an FIR and started the investigation. After almost four hours of searching, the girl was found injured and bleeding near a petrol pump.

According to the station in-charge, the elder sister was familiar with the assailants and has identified them. The FIR was registered under sections of POCSO act, in addition to charges of rape and kidnapping. Saddam Hussein and Farman Khan were nabbed from their residence, and the car has also been confiscated.

The victim was immediately taken to Government Medical College, where she had to undergo surgery. The doctors have asserted that the girl is now out of danger. Police have stated that the perpetrators will face a speedy trial and will be punished soon.
