Israeli series ‘Fauda’ crew member Matan Meir “Killed in Action” in Gaza

On 10th November(Friday), Matan Meir, a production crew member of the popular Israeli spy thriller series Fauda, was “killed in action” in Gaza while fighting in the ongoing Israel-Hamas War. The name of St-Sgt. Maj. (reservist) Matan Meir was one of the most recent names of fallen soldiers published by the IDF, Jerusalem Post reported. 

The X handle of Fauda official stated, “We are devastated to share that one of our Fauda family members, Matan Meir, was killed in action in Gaza. Matan was an integral crew member. The cast and crew are heartbroken by this tragic loss. We extend our condolences to Matan’s family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.”

The Israeli Defence Forces while publishing details about its fallen soldiers stated that Meir was from Odem and he fought in the 697th Battalion of the IDF’s 551st Brigade.

Meir was one of five Israel Defense Forces soldiers who died in a blast from a booby-trapped tunnel shaft in the northern Gaza Strip, as reported by the Times of Israel. As per reports from Israeli media, the fatalities increased the count of soldiers who have died in Gaza to 42.

The creator of the Israeli series Fauda, Avi Assacharoff, took to X to express his condolences at the loss of one of their crew member. 

In addition to working in all 4 seasons of Fauda, Meir worked in other productions, including “The Police,” “Manayek,” “The Dream Owner,” “Magpie” and others.

It is important to note that many actors who had worked in the series Fauda are currently either fighting alongside Israeli soldiers against Hamas terrorists or volunteering in rescue activities in the wake of the 7th October attacks that killed more than 1,200 in Israel.

Following the 7th October terror attacks, the show’s cast and crew returned to Israel to join their “brothers in arms”. Among them was Lior Raz, who played the lead role of Officer Doron Kabilio in the series and also produced it. Series co-creators Avi Issacharoff and Yohanan Plesner from the Israeli Democracy Institute were also in attendance. Before his involvement in the show, Raz served as a soldier in an elite Israeli special forces unit.

Taking to X, he shared that they were sent to the bombarded town of Sderot to extract 2 families. 

On 13th October, OpIndia reported that another Fauda actor Idan Amedi also joined Israel’s active combat force to serve his nation on the field against the Hama terrorist attack. Amedi is an Israeli singer-songwriter and is best known for playing Sagi Tzur, a new undercover operative for the Israel Defense Force, in the immensely popular television action series ‘Fauda’.

Fauda tells the story of an Israeli counter-terrorism unit’s fight against Palestinian terrorists, and the series is inspired by the real-life experiences of Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff in the Israel Defense Forces. The show often touches on the Arab-Israeli conflict as well as other issues. Four seasons of the series have been streamed on Netflix from 2015 to 2022, and it has been renewed for the fifth season.

On 12th November, Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam lashed out at his party leaders and said there is a “Chandaal Choukadi” in Congress that hates Ram, Cow, Ganga, Gita and Gayatri.

Acharya Pramod said, “You are trying to use my “pain” for “political” gain, and you should do it. However, it is an eternal truth that there is a “Chandal Chaukdi” (Devilious Quarter) in our party that hates not only Ram but also Cow, Ganga, Geeta and Gayatri.”

Acharya Pramod was quoting a post of Dr Trivedi on X (formerly Twitter), where Dr Trivedi used Pramod’s statement to target Congress. In a recent statement, Pramod said, “There are leaders in Congress that hate Bhagwan Ram, Hindu and Dharmgurus”. Quoting his statement, Dr Trivedi wrote, “The story of Congress Clan’s stigma of hatred towards Indian Culture. [They] Created obstacles in Shri Ram temple. [They] called Lord Shri Ram imaginary. [They invented the term] Hindu terrorism. AK Antony Committee report, which itself exposed the anti-Hindu policies of Congress. Then, recently, there was a terrible call for the destruction of the Hindu religion (Eradication of Sanatan Dharma),

“And now, the only Hindu religious leader of Congress, Acharya Pramod Krishnam, has clearly said that some people in Congress hate the word Hindu and have contempt for Lord Ram. Therefore, now the people of the country understand that these lines were written to Mirabai Ji to solve the dilemma in her mind. “Jake Priya Na Ram Vaidehi, Tajiye Tahi Koti Bairi Sam, Yadpi Param Snehi”. It means that if someone is not dear to Ram and Sita, even if he is your ultimate beloved, you should consider him like a million enemies and abandon him,” he added.

Acharya Pramod accused Surjewala of supporting a BJP candidate to stop obscene CDs from circulation

Earlier, reacting to Pramod’s statement, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said, “You should leave such unimportant people. Look here. What does this kilometres-long queue of women tell you? This Diwali is of Congress. Congress has created a circle of protection for women.”

Quoting an ANI post that contained Surjewala’s statement, Acharya Pramod said, “This is the fate of Congress. The irony is that such “laandar” has been made the general secretary of the party who committed the sin of helping BJP candidate and Zee News owner Subhash Chandra win the Rajya Sabha elections while being an MLA only to stop the broadcast of an obscene CD”.

There are leaders in Congress who hate Ram Mandir, Lord Ram and Hindus

On 10th November, Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who is known for his controversial comments, lashed out at his own party leaders, alleging that there are some leaders in the party who hate Lord Ram and Hindus. He added that such Congress leaders are opposed to a Hindu saint or religious leader being in the party.

“I don’t have personal animosity towards anyone but I have felt that there are some leaders in Congress who hate not only the Ram Mandir but also the name of Lord Ram. These leaders not only hate Hindutva but also hate the word ‘Hindu’, they want to insult Hindu religious gurus. They don’t like that there should be a Hindu religious guru in the party.”

Before slamming his own party’s “anti-Hindu” leaders, Acharya Pramod Krishnam expressed his joy over the construction and inauguration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. On speculations that he might be planning to join the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Acharya Pramod Krishnam asserted that although he is a part of the Congress party, it does not mean that the truth cannot be called the truth and a lie cannot be called a lie.

UP: Farooq who killed a Mathura businessman’s wife during robbery attempt, killed in encounter with police

On Saturday (11th November), the main accused in the killing of a businessman’s wife in Mathura was shot dead by the Uttar Pradesh police during an encounter. Accused Farooq had on November 4 killed businessman Krishna Kumar Agarwal’s wife Kalpana Agarwal during a robbery.

The police said that accused Farooq, who carried a Rs 50,000 bounty, was shot dead on Saturday night. This came after Farooq opened fire on the Special Operations Group (SOG).

Farooq and his accomplice, Mohsin, were charged with the November 4 murder of an elderly woman, Kalpana Agarwal, in Mathura’s Guru Kripa Colony. When the accused looted their home, her husband, businessman Krishna Kumar Agarwal, was also injured. Accused Farooq and Mohsin looted a huge sum of money and jewellery from the businessman’s residence.

According to the authorities, Mohsin was working as a driver for the Agarwal family. Before the robbery, he had taken the keys to their house. On the evening of November 3, he brought Farooq to the Agarwals’ residence without informing anyone, concealing him in the luggage compartment while dropping the businessman off.

Reportedly, when they arrived home, the accused Mohsin gave Farooq the key, which he used to enter the house later at night. During the burglary, Farooq assaulted the elderly couple, and the woman died as a result of her injuries. Farooq left the scene in the same car after the crime.

The accused were identified by police using CCTV cameras and technical surveillance, and Mohsin was arrested a few days ago. The incident occurred when Farooq opened fire on officials attempting to apprehend him. He was shot in retaliatory action by the cops. The police also found Rs 21.8 lakh in cash, jewels, gold jewellery, and a looted Toyota Innova Krista car, as well as guns and cartridges.

Taking to X, Mathura Police shared the statement of Mathura SSP Shailesh Pandey who informed that the police killed accused Farooq on Saturday during an encounter. He said that Farooq was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000. SSP Pandey said that Farooq had killed businessman Krishna Kumar Agarwal’s wife during a robbery at his house in Gurukripa Vilas Colony located in the police station highway area.

‘Give me a chance, I will murder Tiger Raja Singh’: Woman vows to murder BJP leader in the presence of AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi

For more than a week, the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has been doing door-to-door campaigning for his nine candidates contesting the Telangana Assembly polls 2023. During the campaigning process, the AIMIM leader has been interacting with Hyderabadi voters about their grievances and how his candidates could redress them, as visible on his social media timeline. 

The Owaisi brothers have been notorious for their communal remarks and stroking tensions by giving provocating speeches and vowing to teach other communities a ‘lesson’. During Owaisi’s poll outreach, a Muslim woman, while interacting with Asaduddin Owaisi, openly expressed her desire to ‘murder’ BJP MLA from Goshamahal, T Raja Singh. During the exchange, Barrister Owaisi neither appeared to stop her from giving violent death threats nor condemned her for the same. 

In a video of the interaction, published by a media outlet, SA News, the woman can be heard lionising Asaduddin Owaisi when he comes to her doorstep seeking support. Referring to him as “Sher maa ka bacha”, she wishes him well asserting that the entire world is behind Owaisi and he will achieve great success.

Subsequently, while referring to BJP leader T Raja Singh, the Woman dubs the Hindu leader ‘Kaminey’ and asks senior Owaisi to give her a ticket to contest against him saying, “I will murder him.” Asaduddin Owaisi, despite being a barrister and an MP, does not condemn her violent threat, as can be seen from the video. He is then seen sneaking out after saying do cast your vote for our candidate, without asserting that there can’t be a place of hatred and bloodlust in democracy and law-abiding societies.  

The video has gone viral on the internet with many netizens lambasting Asaduddin Owaisi for creating such a communal atmosphere among his electorate. Many netizens also highlighted that his act of standing with radical elements and terror accused has emboldened such people to dehumanise and issue an open threat to their dissenters. 

Sharing the video of the incident, one X user wrote, “Listen to this woman abusing Hindu leaders & threatens (sic) to murder Tiger Raja Singh! All this in Asaduddin Owaisi ji’s presence with the public around cheering. People like Owaisi ji should just drop their veil now and advocate for their personal law, as their supporters are already under that delusion.” 

Popular X handle, ‘Gems of KCR’ wrote, “A woman in Old City telling Owaisi that she will muπder Raja Singh.!! Owaisi who can provide legal aid to ISIS accused from Hyderabad, this is the confidence that they get.!!” 

Meanwhile, earlier in August 2022, OpIndia reported that over 90 Islamists who raised murderous ‘Sar tan se juda’ beheading chants against T Raja Singh were released by Hyderabad Police on the directions of AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

Diwali, PM Modi and soldiers – A tradition to look forward to every year

On 12th November, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a decade of celebrating Diwali with the armed forces. This year, he visited the Lipa Check Post in the Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh to celebrate the auspicious festival with the soldiers of the Indian Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The check post is located at an elevation of 2 KM close to the Chinese border. The Army and ITBP strategically manage it.

The Lipa Check Post protects the challenging terrain of the China Border. The soldiers guarding the post are vital in safeguarding the nation’s security. The post is known for its demanding conditions. Notably, the Chinese village below has a Chinese Army post. For those unaware, Himachal Pradesh shares a 260 KM border with China. Around 140 KM border touches China in Kinnaur and 80 KM in the Lahaul-Spiti district. There are around 20 Indian posts securing the border across Himachal.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said, “Reached Lepcha in Himachal Pradesh to celebrate Diwali with our brave security forces.”

In a follow-up post, he said, “Spending Diwali with our brave security forces in Lepcha, Himachal Pradesh, has been an experience filled with deep emotion and pride. Away from their families, these guardians of our nation illuminate our lives with their dedication.”

He added, “The courage of our security forces is unwavering. Stationed in the toughest terrains, away from their loved ones, their sacrifice and dedication keep us safe and secure. India will always be grateful to these heroes who are the perfect embodiment of bravery and resilience.”

PM Modi took charge in 2014. Since then, he has visited one post to meet and greet the soldiers on Diwali.

In 2022, the Prime Minister visited Kargil to celebrate Diwali with the soldiers.

In 2021, He visited Nowshera. In a post on X, he wrote, “I feel privileged that I got to spend Diwali with our brave soldiers in Nowshera, not as Prime Minister but as a member of their family.”

In 2020, he visited Longewala despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. He wrote on X, “Every year, I cherish spending Diwali with our security forces. It is a way of reaffirming our solidarity with them, as they bravely protect the nation and ensure our country can scale new heights of progress.”

In 2019, he visited Rajouri. He wrote, “Diwali is sweeter when celebrated with our brave soldiers.”

In 2018, PM Modi visited Harsil in Uttarakhand. He wrote, “Celebrated Diwali with our brave Army and ITBP personnel at Harsil in Uttarakhand. India is immensely proud of all those who protect our nation with utmost dedication and courage. We salute them!”

In 2017, he visited Gurez Valley in Jammu and Kashmir. He wrote, “Glad to have celebrated Diwali with our brave Army and BSF Jawans in the Gurez Valley, Jammu and Kashmir.”

In 2016, he visited Himachal, in 2015, he visited Amritsar, and in 2014, he visited Siachin. PM Modi is expected to continue the tradition after regaining office after 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

On Sunday (12th October), West Bengal BJP President Suvendu Adhikari slammed the General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Abhishek Banerjee, for his larger-than-life security arrangement.

While taking to X (formerly Twitter), Adhikari pointed out that 4700 police personnel were deployed for the TMC leader’s cloth distribution campaign in Falta in Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency on Friday (10th October).

The BJP President posted the 33-page copy of the security arrangement and dubbed Abhishek Banerjee as ‘King Liar’ and the last emperor of the ‘Princely State of Diamond Harbour.’

“The 33 page Order is long, so is the thread of this post. Let me help you, if your patience runs out while scrolling down,” Suvendu Adhikari posted a 9-tweet long thread on X (formerly Twitter).

“The total number of Personnel deployed; including Uniformed Policemen, Policemen in plain clothes, Superior Officers and Traffic Police for securing the journey from Kalighat to Falta on November 10, 2023, is approximately 4700,” he added.

The BJP leader further mocked, “No, ‘Jahanpanah’ didn’t go to war or went to annex foreign territory with such large Battalion. It was a modest trip to distribute few clothes; the cost of which would be a fraction of the cost incurred for such large movement of Policemen across several Police Stations.”

Suvendu Adhikari questioned whether such elaborate security arrangements were ever made even for the President of India. Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Abhishek Banerjee has stepped up his ‘public outreach’ in his constituency.

While handing out clothes to people, he claimed, “I had promised our block and town leaders that I would hold events in each Assembly segment of Diamond Harbour and present gifts to our people as an elected representative.”

“From next year, we will reach the gifts to your doorsteps with the help of our volunteers. The clothes being presented here are not a donation but a gift from my side. I request you to accept it,” he further added.

It must be mentioned that Abhishek Banerjee is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate on charges of corruption and involvement in ‘school recruitment scam’.

Indian-origin American Kurush Mistry who was pasting anti-Israel posters and abusing Jews in NY fired from commodity trading firm owned by Jews

Kurush Mistry, an Indian-origin American who was seen abusing Jewish persons and putting anti-Israel posters in Manhattan, has been fired from his job. Mistry worked as an Oil Analyst at Freepoint Commodities, a commodity trading and finance services company. Kurush Mistry along with his Indian-origin wife Shailja Gupta was seen in a viral video pasting antisemitic posters over posters of Israelis kidnapped by Hamas, and chanting anti-Israel slogans, apart from harassing a Jewish person who had confronted them.

After the video was posted by Post Millennial journalist Andy Ngô on X, it went viral. Soon they were identified by the journalist as Indian origin couple, Kurush Mistry who works at Freepoint Commodities and Shailja Gupta who is a visual artist and a filmmaker. Today the company announced that Mistry is no longer with the company after his antisemitic hatred was revealed in the video.

The company posted on its LinkedIn page, “Freepoint is committed to fostering a culture of mutual respect and tolerance. We welcome the diversity of views and opinions held by our employees, but Freepoint does not tolerate discrimination and hate speech directed against any group. We are aware of the recent antisemitic incident reported on social media, and the individual involved is no longer associated with Freepoint.”

Before joining the company, Kurush Mistry worked at Morgan Stanley Capital International, Barclays Capital, and the Lehman Brothers.

It is notable that the founder and CEO of Freepoint Commodities is David Messer, a Jew. Many people on social media wondered if IIM-A graduate Mistry knew that the company he works for is owned and run by a person Jewish, given that he displayed his antisemitism such openly.

In the viral video, the Indian origin American couple were seeing covering posters of Israelis abducted by Hamas in the October 7 attack with anti-Isarael posters. One such poster said, ‘Israel is an apartheid state and commits genocide’. Another poster said “occupiers face consequences”.

 When one Jewish person confronted them, Mistry showed him the middle finger, and Shailja Gupta asked him to ‘f**k off’.

Saying that the person does no who her father is, she tells him ‘go back to your country’. When he said that he is American Jew, she replies she is also American, and asks him to go back to Isarel. She further said, ‘you don’t want my country to exist’. When the person asks which country she is talking about, she said ‘Palestine’.

The couple came prepared with printed posters, duct tapes and other stationeries to cover up the posters of the hostages.

Apart from her antisemitism, Shailja Gupta is also deeply Hinduphobic. Ahead of the Indian festival of Rakshabandhan in 2021, Gupta took to Facebook to characterise it as a ‘sexist holiday’. She insinuated that Rakshabandhan was a “Goldmine for child labour” and a “yet another opportunity to pivot the emotional festival into Export Cash Cow.”

On October 7, armed Hamas terrorists raided the southern border areas of Israel, killing people with abandon and taking captives with them. According to reports, over 240 Israelis have been abducted and taken to Gaza after the October 7 attack, which also led to the deaths of 1,400 Israelis, triggering a national mourning and subsequent Israeli retaliation against the Hamas terrorists.

Since then, propagandists and Hamas sympathisers around the world have tried to downplay the attacks on October 7 that triggered the Israeli retaliation and blamed the Netanyahu government and Israelis by dehumanising them as “settlers” and “occupiers” as a means to justify the attacks against them and hold them instead responsible for Hamas’ depravity. Anti-Israelis have been removing and defacing posters of abducted Isarelis in American cities and educational institutions.

Hamas commander who held around 1,000 Gazans as hostages at a hospital in Gaza neutralised by Israel Defense Forces

On 11th November (Saturday), the Israel Defense Forces announced that it had killed the Hamas commander, Ahmed Siam, who “held approximately 1,000 Gazan residents hostages at Rantisi Hospital”. Siam held people and patients as hostages in the Gaza hospital and prevented their safe evacuation southward, the IDF added. 

The IDF revealed that Siam was a commander in Hamas’ Naser Radwan Company and had been using civilians in Gaza as human shields for terrorist purposes. Citing the example of Siam, the IDF statement added, “Ahmed Siam demonstrates once again that Hamas uses the civilians of the Gaza Strip as human shields for terror purposes.”

In a statement, the IDF pointed out that they had received intelligence gathered by the Shin Bet and Military Intelligence Directorate. Following the credible intel, troops of Israel’s Givati Brigade directed a fighter jet to strike Ahmed Siam, the commander of Hamas’s Nasser-Radwan company.

He was neutralised two days after, the IDF had emphasised that Siam was preventing around 1,000 Palestinians from evacuating Rantisi Hospital, which is located in northern Gaza. According to the IDF, Siam was hiding at the al-Buraq school in Gaza City, along with other Hamas operatives under his command when the Israeli troops neutralised him. 

No strike, no siege at Shifa Hospital: IDF

Meanwhile, fighting between Israel and Hamas continued in northern Gaza, including near the Strip’s largest hospital, Al-Shifa. Notably, on 10th November (Friday local time), a missile struck the premises of the notorious Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City which, according to the IDF, has been housing critical terror infrastructure of Hamas underneath. Immediately after the missile blast, Hamas-run media blamed Israeli forces for the missile strike. 

However, the IDF revealed that the hospital building was hit by a Palestinian outfit’s missile that misfired. According to the IDF, intense fighting had been going on in the vicinity of the Shifa Hospital and when the Hamas terrorists tried to hit Israeli defence personnel, one of their missiles misfired hitting their own ‘Military HQ’ disguised underneath the Shifa Hospital.  

A day after the false claim of the missile strike on the hospital, Palestinians started peddling the claim that the hospital was under siege or that those inside were trapped. However, Israel categorically denied these claims stressing that it has been asked by staff at Shifa Hospital to help enable the transfer of babies in the pediatric department to a safer hospital, and it would do so on Sunday.

However, it also asserted that its troops were continuing to make advancements against Hamas on the ground at various fighting locations including in the vicinity of the Shifa Hospital. 

Updating on the Israel-Hamas war, the IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said in a press briefing on Saturday evening that ground forces, with air and naval support, were “deepening” operations in Gaza City’s al-Shati neighbourhood. 

He added that Hamas was losing control of northern Gaza, as civilians evacuated the area “against the instructions” of the terror group. According to him, another 200,000 residents had left the Strip’s north in the past three days alone.

Regarding Shifa Hospital, Hagari dismissed “false reports” that the IDF had hit Shifa Hospital and was surrounding and striking Gaza hospitals. He emphasised that the IDF does not strike hospitals. Rather, he noted, “We are fighting terrorists who are choosing to fight from close to Shifa Hospital.”

The IDF Spokesman Hagari added, “There has been a lot of misinformation from Gaza today. So I want to clarify the facts. There is no siege, I repeat no siege, on Shifa Hospital. The east side of the hospital is open for the safe passage of Gazans who wish to leave the hospital.”

The IDF official noted that the army would continue to allow patients and staff at Gaza’s hospitals, and all noncombatants in northern Gaza, to evacuate to the south. 

Hagari further said, “We’re speaking directly and regularly with the hospital staff. The staff of Shifa Hospital has requested that tomorrow we will help the babies in the pediatric department to get to a safer hospital. We will provide the assistance needed.”

On Sunday (12th November) India’s leading fast bowler Mohammad Shami shared a picture of himself dressed in a traditional Kurta and wished everyone a “Happy Diwali” on X. Shami’s X post on the auspicious occasion garnered Diwali wishes from Indian netizens. However, the Pakistani X users who are anyway frustrated with their team’s humiliating exit from the World Cup 2023, started abusing and trolling Shami for wishing on a Hindu festival despite being a Muslim.

One Mahreen replied to Shami’s post “Yeh just naaaaaam ky Muslims hain …. Follow indian religion hi kartae (He is just a namesake Muslim, he follows Indian religion only).”

Another Pakistani wrote, “Another day for Shami proving loyalty to India.” One wonders which country Shami should show his loyalty to, given that he is an Indian citizen.

One Asif Ghafoor wrote, “Diwali wish kr deta Hun India Kay sath loyal lgonga (I will wish Diwali, will look loyal towards India).”

Another Pakistani wrote, “Bhai sajda nahi kar paye, Diwali manao ache se (Brother, you couldn’t do Sajda, celebrate Diwali).”

One Umar wrote, “Harami Sajda ker Lena taa. Semis main kaam ata lakin ni (If you had performed Sajda, it would’ve helped in Semifinals).”

Amusingly, the Pakistani Islamist forgot that his own team players not only performed Sajda but also offered Namaz on the field, even dedicated their rare win in this world cup to Gaza, yet the Pakistanis have been knocked out of the ICC tournament.

This, however, is not the first time when Shami has faced an online attack from Islamists for wishing on a Hindu festival. On Dussehra last year, Shami had posted greetings on his social media accounts. However, the Islamists didn’t like it and slammed Shami for celebrating the Hindu festival and accused him of going against his religion for his career.

Meanwhile, India’s other star bowler Mohammed Siraj also received hate from Pakistani and Indian Islamists for posting Diwali greetings on X.

“Happy Diwali to you and your loved ones,” Siraj posted on X along with his picture.

In response to Siraj’s post an X user wrote, “Are they forced to do that?”

An Indian X user Faheem wrote, “I believe the entire cricket team received diktat to share Diwali wishes along with their photos.”

One Pakistani Islamist opined that Siraj should greet people on a Hindu festival like Diwali only if Hindu players also celebrate Bakrid with him.

“Agar ye Hindu khilari aap k sath Bakra Eid manathay hain tu aap ko Diwali manana chahiye warna aap beghairat ho #FreePalestineFromIsrael #FreePalestine (If Hindu players celebrate Bakrid with you then you can celebrate Diwali otherwise you are shameless),” the Pakistani X user wrote.

World Health Organisation loses communication with Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, Director-General says hospital is surrounded by tanks

The World Health Organisation (WHO) on Sunday said that it has lost communication with Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, stressing that those who fled the hospital have been reportedly shot, wounded or killed.

This comes after it was reported that the hospital has been facing repeated attacks.

Sharing this on X, the WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said that according to the latest reports, the hospital was surrounded by tanks.

Moreover, WHO is gravely concerned about the safety of health workers, hundreds of sick and injured patients, including babies on life support, and displaced people who remain inside the hospital.

WHO further called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, as it is the only way to save lives and reduce the horrific levels of suffering, the WHO director-general said.

“WHO also calls for the sustained, orderly, unimpeded and safe medical evacuations of critically injured and sick patients,” the post added.

Additionally, the WHO raised concerns about hostages, stating that all hostages must receive appropriate medical care and be released unconditionally.

The war between Israel and Hamas has intensified in the last days, and reportedly, Israel said that Hamas’s terror group has been maintaining a major command centre as part of its vast network of tunnels, according to The Times of Israel.

Meanwhile, Jerusalem has urged Al-Shifa Hospital’s staff and patients, along with other Gazans, to flee to the south to avoid being attacked as Israeli forces continue to attack Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

According to The Times of Israel, there have been reports of gunfire targeting civilians seeking to exit the hospital to flee. Adding to that, Israel said that the shooters were Hamas gunmen; however, the terror group blames Israel.

The organisation also called for the “sustained, orderly, unimpeded and safe medical evacuations of critically injured and sick patients into Egypt through the Rafah Border Crossing.”

As the Hamas terror group has captivated over 230 hostages in the Gaza Strip, WHO said, “All hostages should receive appropriate medical care and be released unconditionally.”
