Remembering the great revolutionary in his monthly address ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi recalled the day he visited the cell in Andaman where Veer Savarkar underwent the rigorous sentence.

“I cannot forget the day when I went to the cell in Andaman where Veer Savarkar underwent the sentence of Kalapani,” he said.

“Veer Savarkar’s personality comprised firmness and magnanimity. His fearless and self-respecting nature did not appreciate the mentality of slavery at all. Not only the freedom movement, whatever Veer Savarkar did for social equality and social justice is remembered even today,” PM Modi said in his monthly radio address.

The protesting wrestlers who were trying to march towards the new Parliament from their site of protest at Jantar Mantar were stopped and detained by the security personnel in Delhi on Sunday.

The wrestlers are trying to march towards the new Parliament as they want to hold a women’s Maha Panchayat in front of the new Parliament.

Following the detention of the wrestlers, Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat said that we are not allowed to enter and our people are being detained whereas Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan is sitting in the parliament.

“We are not being allowed to enter and our people are being detained. He (Brij Bhushan) is sitting in parliament and we are being sent to jail,” said Vinesh Phogat.

Ahead of a march by wrestlers towards the newly-built Parliament building, Delhi Police on Sunday said that “unsocial elements” will not be allowed to enter the national capital to ensure smooth conduct of the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building, said DCP, Sonipat East Gaurav Rajpurohit.

A Khap Panchayat has called for a ‘Mahila maha panchayat in support of wrestlers who have been protesting against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a BJP MP accusing him of sexual harassment. Seven women wrestlers have filed a police complaint against him.

“We have deployed male and female companies at Delhi-Haryana border points to ensure unsocial elements are stopped from entering Delhi. Sonipat East Zone Police has not detained anyone so far. We will not allow people to enter Delhi if their motive is to disrupt the inauguration of the new Parliament House, our intelligence team is identifying such people,” added the DCP.

“We will not allow anything to disrupt the inauguration of the new Parliament building. The entire Delhi Police is on its toes to make sure the inauguration ceremony is conducted smoothly,” said Delhi Police Special CP Deepender Pathak.

Delhi Police increased the security in the national capital, including on its borders ahead of a march by wrestlers.

The Police barricaded all the borders of the national capital in order to prevent any protest or gathering.

“Delhi Police are prepared for such situations. We have enough force to deploy. Last time the border was closed for months because of the protesters (farmers’ protests). We have prepared our forces so that such situations do not arise again. We will convince the protesters to return,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Delhi Amrutha Gugulot told ANI.

Delhi University’s Academic Council includes Veer Savarkar in the political science syllabus for the first time, axes chapter on Muhammad Iqbal

According to a statement released by Delhi University (DU) on Saturday, it has added a section on Indian revolutionary and Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as Veer Savarkar, for the fifth semester and switched chapters on Mahatma Gandhi to the seventh semester in the most recent syllabi changes implemented in Bachelor of Arts (BA) political science during the Academic Council (AC) meeting held on Friday. Notably, the former has never before been covered in a curriculum.

Alok Ranjan Pandey, a member of DU’s AC stated, “Earlier, Savarkar was not part of the syllabus, whereas Gandhi was taught in the fifth semester. Now, they have included Savarkar in the fifth semester, Ambedkar in the sixth, and Gandhi in the seventh. While we have no objection to Savarkar being introduced, he should not be taught before Gandhi and his teachings.”

The varsity’s AC approved a number of curriculum revisions on Friday, including the removal of poet Muhammad Iqbal, also known as Allama Iqbal, from the BA political science syllabus. DU vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh said, “Those who laid the foundation to break India have no place being a part of the syllabus,” while presiding over the meeting.

Iqbal’s removal from the curriculum was not unanimous, with some AC members claiming that he served India by composing the popular song “Sare Jahan Se Acha.” He was a renowned Urdu and Persian poet from the region and more importantly, is credited with contributing to pioneering the notion of Pakistan and dividing the country. He became a Pakistani citizen after its creation.

A council member remarked, “The decision was not unanimous as a lot of people objected to his removal. However, the arguments were made by the majority that his contribution to the partition outweighed any other positive contribution.”

The vice chancellor, meantime, stressed the need of educating more about Dr BR Ambedkar and instructed the faculty to create additional courses based on his ideas and philosophy.

“Iqbal wrote songs supporting the Muslim League and the Pakistan movement. Iqbal was also the first to raise the idea of the Partition of India and the establishment of Pakistan. Instead of teaching about such people, we should study our national heroes,” he mentioned during the meeting.

The reading “Political Thoughts of Muhammad Iqbal” was covered in Indian Political Thought-2 during the sixth semester.

The VC advised the head of the economics department at the Delhi School of Economics to write a paper on the economic ideas of BR Ambedkar and suggested that the AC look at ways to teach more about him. He also suggested that they instruct students more about the Indian economic model, the US model, and the European model.

The meeting approved the course syllabi for the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) 2022’s fourth, fifth, and sixth semesters of various courses. Although the philosophy department’s BA courses include the Philosophy of Dr Ambedkar, the Philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, and the Philosophy of Swami Vivekananda, VC Yogesh Singh urged that the faculty explore the potential of incorporating Savitribai Phule into the curriculum.

The meeting, which started at 10.30 am on Friday in the DU’s Council Hall, ran for over 15 hours before coming to an end at 1:20 am. During the meeting, multiple new undergraduate courses were approved, including one on the University of Delhi Innovation and Startup Policy.

Furthermore, three additional B. Tech degrees, comprising electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and computer science and engineering, were authorised for the 2023–24 academic year. The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) programme, which would be a four-year course, was also given AC approval to commence.

It also resolved to launch two new five-year Bachelor of Legislative Law (LLB) programmes as well as centres for tribal studies and the partition. The university’s executive council (EC), which is due to convene next on June 9, will give final approval to the recommendations by the AC meeting.

Karnataka: Following criticism, Siddaramaiah-led Congress govt decides to reappoint slain BJP leader Praveen Nettaru’s wife as a “special case”

On May 28, following sharp criticism over late Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leader Praveen Nettaru’s wife Nuthana Kumari’s dismissal from a government job, Siddaramaiah-led Congress government has decided to reverse the decision. The government claimed the step was taken on “humanitarian” grounds. Nuthana Kumari was given a govt job by the previous BJP govt after Nettaru was brutally murdered in July 2022 by the Popular Front of India’s terrorists as a part of their plan to establish Islamic Rule in India by 2047.

CM Siddaramaiah claimed that removing Praveen Nettaru’s wife from her job was a routine manner as it was a temporary appointment, adding that the govt has decided to reverse the decision for her as a special case on humanitarian grounds.

In a tweet, CM Siddaramaiah wrote, “After a new government comes in, it is a natural process to dismiss the temporary employees who were appointed by the previous government from the government service. Not only Praveen Nettaru’s wife but more than 150 contract workers have already been dismissed from service. There is no government interference in this.” He further added that Nutan’s case was considered a “special case” and she will be re-appointed on “humanitarian grounds.”

Congress-led Karnataka Govt faced criticism

Earlier, the state government had terminated all recruitments carried out on a contract basis by the then BJP-led Karnataka government. Condemning the step, BJP said in a tweet in Kannada, “Due to the communal hatred of PFI, a terrorist organisation nurtured by the Congress party has removed the wife of Praveen Nettaru from service. Our government had provided the job of DC of Mangalore to the wife of Praveen Nettaru, who was killed by the PFI goons.”

BJP Karnataka added, “It is condemnable that the Congress government that has come to power has continued its politics of hatred. We demand that the government immediately withdraw the inhumane order of dismissal. It is a tragedy for the state that Siddaramaiah’s government is acting like a PFI puppet.”

BJP MP PC Mohan said, “Islamic fundamentalists brutally murdered BJP Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru. BJP government offered a Group C post in the Karnataka government to Praveen’s wife. The newly appointed Congress government in Karnataka has revoked the appointment order of his wife. Shameful.”

BJP Karyakarta Priti Gandhi said, “After Praveen Nettaru was hacked to death in 2022 by PFI Radicals, his wife, Nutan Kumari, was given a govt job by the BJP Govt. But as soon as the Congress Govt came to power, her appointment order was withdrawn. The inhumanity is baffling!!”

BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya said, “Shame on Siddaramaiah Govt for cancelling job given to martyr Praveen Nettaru’s wife. PFI goons, before the dreaded organisation was banned, had killed him. Just when you think Congress can’t stoop any further, they hit a new low…”

BJP State Secretary Andhra Pradesh Vishnu Vardhan Reddy said, “Praveen Nettaru’s wife who was given govt job after the brutal murder of her husband removed from post immediately after Congress govt takes over. This is the brutality of Congress towards a widow and the love of @INCIndia seems no bound for PFI!”

Netizen Swathi Bellam said, “Congress govt removes job of a widow to please their vote banks. Praveen Nettaru was brutally killed by PFI terrorists. Their aim was to spread terror in India and make India a caliphate by 2047. SDPI is the political arm of PFI (which is the Indian arm of ISIS). The main accused in Praveen Nettaru’s murder Shafi Bellare contested as MLA on an SDPI ticket from jail and Congress aligned with SDPI this election for votes of peaceful minorities. So to show SDPI the govt is with them they removed the govt job given to Praveen’s wife by BJP govt. Imagine removing the job of a widow without any humanity. That is how it is gonna be for Hindus. Keep electing them for freebies they will keep taking us out one by one. It happened in Kashmir and it will happen in the rest of the country.”

Netizen Arun Pudur said, “Praveen Nettaru was brutally hacked to death by PFI Terrorists. His family was given funds to build a new house and his wife was given govt job by BJP Bommai Govt. CONgress immediately fired his wife from the job. This is the brutality of Congress towards a widow and the love of @INCIndia seems no bound for PFI! Twitter Jihadis aka Hinduveers before elections spread lies BJP does nothing for it’s workers. Now all those Twitter Jihadis are hiding.”

Her husband, BJYM leader Praveen Nettaru, was murdered on July 26, 2022, in Bellare village of Sullia Taluk in Dakshina Kannada district. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had taken over the probe and arrested two accused named Zakir and Mohammed Shafiq in connection with the murder. Investigations revealed that the duo had links with the Islamist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).

On January 20, 2023, National Investigation Agency stated in a chargesheet filed in the Nettaru murder case that PFI had formed secret ‘hit squats’, ‘Service Teams’ or ‘Killer Squads’ to kill its ‘perceived enemies’ and targets. Nettaru was murdered as a part of the plan to create communal hatred and unrest in society. PFI, the Islamist organisation that was banned by the Government of India last year, wanted to establish Islamic Law in India by 2047.

Nuthana was hired for a Group C post in the CM Office by the then-BJP government on a contract basis on September 29, 2022.

The Kerala Story makers release video of real-life victims amidst controversy around factual authenticity

Amidst the controversy around the authenticity of the blockbuster film The Kerala Story, the makers of the film Sunshine Pictures have released a video wherein the victims of the ISIS terror conspiracy shared what they went through.

This comes after the lead actress of the Sudipto Sen directorial venture, Adah Sharma, recently said that the factual evidence will be out soon regarding the authenticity of the claims made in the film.

The real-life victims who were indoctrinated and converted to Islam shared their ordeal and lauded the film The Keral Story for narrating the truth.

One of the victims Vishali Shetty, now associated with the Arsha Vidya Samajam, said, “Around six to seven years back I completed my engineering and joined a corporate company there. My immediate colleagues were radical Muslims who were trying to brainwash me and get me interested or inclined towards Islam. Initially, they started by asking me questions about my Dharma and me not being able to answer their question or be able to defend my dharma beyond a certain point.”

The Arsh Vidya Samajam member was asked about the allegations levelled by certain political parties that The Kerala Story is propaganda and even the victims coming out with their stories following the release of the film are also peddling propaganda.

Responding to these allegations,  one of the members of the Arsha Vidya Samajam Ashram said that there is no propaganda as the Ashram has been working since 1999 and brought over 7,000 people back.

The Arsha Vidya Samajam member also recalled a 2017 incident wherein a girl named Athira, hailing from Kasargod in Kerala, had converted to Islam and declared while speaking to a media channel that she has converted to Islam and become Ayisha. However, she later did another press conference announcing that she has reverted to Hinduism following the counseling of Arsh Vidya Samajam.

“After attending two months course on Sanatan Dharma at our institution, she again held a press conference and said that converting to Islam was an uncalculated decision of hers. It became national news at that time,” the Ashram member said.

She also pointed out that the Arsha Vidya Samajam volunteers were operating silently as they were receiving threats as they brought back the brainwashed converts to the fold of Sanatan Dharma. She further asserted that they (radical Muslims) cannot tolerate losing even one person from Islam.

“They cannot tolerate even one person being lost from their religion. It’s not that we are converting their people to Hinduism, we are only bringing back our people only who due to some sort of brainwashing were drawn towards an anti-national radicalised mindset,” the Arsha Vidya Samajam member said.

Following the remarkable success of ‘The Kerala Story,’ the film’s team recently contributed ₹51 lakhs to Arsha Vidya Samajam. This dedicated organisation works tirelessly and selflessly towards the noble cause of rescuing Love Jihad victims, reintegrating them into Hinduism, and assisting in their rehabilitation.

About the Arsha Vidya Samajam

Arsha Vidya Samajam believes in the guru tradition. ‘Arsha Vidya Samajam’ believes that the main cause of the rampant evil in the world today is the lack of awareness about Dharma among the youth. The organisation’s goal is to ensure that there is not a single person in the world who has never heard of ‘Sanatana Dharma.’

‘Arsha Vidya Samajam’ mainly teaches 4 courses- Adhyatma Shastram, Arsha Yoga Vidya, Indian Culture and Vidyarthi Naipunya Varga. Along with this, the Gurus also introduce different religions and tell people about the differences between them by comparing them with one another.

About the film The Kerala Story

The movie The Kerala Story, written and directed by Sudipto Sen, revolves around Shalini Unnikrishnan, played by Adah Sharma, an innocent Hindu woman from Kerala, who is brainwashed by her Muslim friend and gets converted to Islam and marries a Muslim man. She later realises that she has been trapped in a huge terrorist web after she is raped, separated from her only child, and then forced to serve as a sex slave.

New low for RJD, compares new parliament to a coffin

On May 28, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Parliament Building and dedicated it to the people of India, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s political party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) hit a new low and compared the building to a coffin. RJD published a tweet from its official Twitter handle in which they added an image of the coffin on the left and a photograph of the aerial view of the new Parliament Building on the right. Comparing both, they wrote, “Yeh Kya Hai (What is this)” in the tweet.

The tweet has received sharp criticism from the netizens. Trupti Garg wrote, “First photo is your party’s future. The second photo is the future of India.”

Twitter user ThombreMilind showed the mirror to RJD as it has zero MPs in Lok Sabha.

Twitter user Dines Sharma criticised RJD and said, “Opposition has every right to oppose but to stoop down to this level isn’t healthy for the democracy.”

Another Twitter user Anish Nair said, “Pls refrain from participating in elections going forward, As RJD wouldn’t want their representatives sitting inside a structure which represents something else but not a parliament!!”

Payal Mehta wrote, “SICK!!! Really sick!!! I hope you realise the next parliament session your MPs will sit inside this coffin (as you put it) hope you don’t pray them to.”

Twitter user Pawan Durani said, “No wonder Bihar is a backward state, Patna at least 30 years behind other cities. What a shameless handle! Disgusting.”

Notably, RJD supremo and former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav was sentenced to five years imprisonment and Rs 60 lakh fine by a special CBI court in Ranchi in the Fodder Scam case in February 2022.

MP: NIA busts ISIS terror module in Jabalpur, three arrested

On Saturday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) busted an ISIS-linked terror module in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh following 13 raids conducted overnight on May 26-27. The NIA has also arrested three persons during the raids.

The three people who had been arrested, Syed Mamoor Ali, Mohammad Adil Khan, and Mohammad Shahid, were produced before a special judge, who remanded them in NIA custody until June 3. Sharp weapons, ammunition (including prohibited bore), incriminating documents, and digital devices were recovered by the raiding teams.

In a press release, the NIA stated that arrested terror operative Adil Khan who was on the agency’s radar since August 2022 and his aides were promoting ISIS propaganda through social media and on-ground ‘Dawah’ programmes to carry out terrorist activities at the behest of ISIS.

“On May 24, registered a case (RC-14/2023/NIA/DLI), during its investigations into the pro-ISIS activities of Mohammad Adil Khan, who came to the agency’s notice in August 2022. The NIA learnt that he and his associates were involved in disseminating ISIS propaganda through social media platforms, as well as through on-ground ‘Dawah’ programmes, in order to unleash violent terror attacks in India at the instance of ISIS. The module had been conducting meetings/Dars in local Masjids and houses and hatching plans and conspiracies to spread terror in the country,” the press release stated.

According to the NIA investigation, the three accused were “highly radicalised and determined to carry out violent jihad.”

“They were collecting funds, disseminating ISIS propaganda material, motivating and recruiting youth, and trying to acquire arms and ammunition with the intent of carrying out terrorist acts,” the NIA said.

It has been alleged that Ali created a local group/Tanzeem called ‘Fisabilillah’ and ran a WhatsApp group with the same name. “He was attempting to obtain pistols and was in contact with a Jabalpur-based illegal arms supplier for this purpose.

The NIA alleged that Adil, a fervent ISIS supporter, had assembled an active group of like-minded radicalised persons in Jabalpur. “Some of the module members were already contemplating flight to conflict theatres, while others had plans to form a local outfit for carrying out violent jihad in India,” the statement stated, adding that he was also running multiple YouTube, Instagram, and WhatsApp channels for recruiting youngsters into the ISIS.

This comes days after Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) busted the Bhopal-Hyderabad terror module of the Islamist terrorist organisation Hizb-Ut-Tahrir (HuT). The MP ATS conducted a RAW and IB-style operation to nab 16 HuT terrorists on May 9. A case was registered against these accused under UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967) and other relevant sections.

PM Modi installs the historic Sengol at the New Parliament Building

On Sunday, May 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi installed ‘Sengol’ in the Lok Sabha chamber at the New Parliament Building amidst Vedic chants by the high priests of various adheenams (maths) in Tamil Nadu. Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla accompanied PM Modi during the installation. The installation of Sengol took place before performing Puja.

Notably, this is the same Sengol that India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru accepted at his residence on the night of August 14 as a symbol of transfer of power. At the occasion, PM Modi was dressed in traditional attire. He entered the building from Gate No 1 where Speaker OM Birla welcomed him.

After entering the Parliament, PM Modi performed ‘Ganpati Homam’ to invoke the Gods. The ‘Sengol’ was consecrated by Adheenams before the much-awaited installation of the holy sceptre in the new Parliament building.

After installing the Sengol, he sought blessings from the high priests. Sengol has been installed in a special enclosure on the right side of the Speaker’s chair.

Apart from PM Modi and Speaker Om Birla, union ministers including Rajnath Singh, S Jaishankar, Amit Shah, and Jitendra Singh along with several Chief Ministers and BJP President JP Nadda were present at the Lok Sabha chamber. The Prime Miniter also facilitated some workers who played key roles in the construction of the building.

Sengol was marked as a golden ‘walking stick’ kept as a ‘gift’ to Jawaharlal Nehru for decades

Sengol is a Tamil world, which means full of wealth. “This Sengol has huge significance. When PM Modi learned about this, he asked for more info on this,” Amit Shah said. He added, “August 14, 1945, around 10:45 Nehru accepted this Sengol from the people of Tamil Nadu. It is a sign of a shift of power from Britishers to the people of this country.”

Reportedly, when the British handed over power to Indians in 1947, the momentous occasion was symbolised by the handing over of a Sengol (sceptre) to the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru by the last Viceroy Lord Mountbatten through Hindu saints from Tamil Nadu.

The Sengol, a testament to India’s emergence as a new, sovereign independent nation, had languished in a museum in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh for nearly seven decades. The display box’s description tag read, “Golden walking stick given to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.”
