Lockdown 4.0: Centre extends nationwide Coronavirus Lockdown till May 31, MHA issues guidelines

On Sunday, the Central Government had initiated the phase 4 of the nationwide lockdown that was imposed first on March 24, amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. The lockdown has now been extended till May 31.

In a notification issued by the National Disaster Management Authority, the central govt departments and state governments were directed to extend the lockdown measures upto 31st May.

The lockdown 4 will be almost same as lockdown 3, with few changes incorporated to allow inter-state movement of people. As per the detail guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the Lockdown 4, all domestic and passenger air services, metro rail services, schools, colleges and other educational institutions will remain shut. Hotels and other hospitality service organisations, cinema halls, shopping malls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, parks, theatres, bars etc will remain shut until 31 May. All kinds of large gatherings for any purpose remains prohibited. Religious places will also remain closed for public and religious congregations will not be allowed.

Following the decision of the govt to allow movement of migrants to their home states, inter-state passenger vehicles and buses will be allowed with mutual consent of the origin and destination states.

The zonal classification of green, orange and red zones based on the prevalence of Coronavirus has been retained, with containment zones and buffer zones to be demarcated in red and orange zones.

Only essential services will be allowed in containment zones, and there will be strict control to prevent unauthorized movement of people.

The night curfew from 7 PM to 7 AM announced in the third phase of the lockdown continues in the fourth phase too.

Apart from these prohibitions, all other activities will be allowed outside containment zones. The standard operating procedures (SOP) issued in MHA in terms of enforcing lockdown and preventing Coronavirus transmission will continue to be in force.

States extend lockdown prior to Centre’s announcement

Prior to the announcement by the Centre, several State Governments had decided to extend the lockdown in their respective states. Reportedly, Telangana was the first state to extend the lockdown till May 29. The decision was made by the State Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. All shops will be allowed to operate in rural areas and towns will see about 50% of shops in function. Private and public offices will run with a 30% workforce and shops selling non-essential items will remain closed in red zones.

Tamil Nadu CM K Palaniswami extended the shutdown in the State to May 31. Public transport will remain operational in 25 districts. About 12 districts, including Chennai, will witness similar restrictions as that of phase 3 of the lockdown. Ban on running educational institutions, public gatherings, and religious congregation shall continue.

While curfew has been lifted in the State of Punjab, lockdown will remain in force till May 31. CM AMarinder Singh assured limited public transport and maximum possible relaxation in no-hotspot zones. Containment zones will be sealed and non-essential items can be sold in non-containment zones. Besides, Mizoram and Maharashtra also extended the lockdown till May 31, prior to Centre’s announcement.

Nationwide Shutdown in India

From the midnight of the intervening night between the 24th of March and the 25th, the first phase of the national lockdown was imposed across the country for 21 days to prevent the Coronavirus from spreading any further. In the second phase, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the extension of the nationwide shutdown to May 3, owing to the rising cases of the Wuhan Coronavirus linked to Tablighi Jamaat members.

Two days before the shutdown was to expire, the Union Home Ministry issued a notification on May 1 which said that the lockdown would be further extended for two weeks. Unlike the first two phases of the lockdown that had uniform restrictions, the third phase that began from 4th May varied in different areas depending on the zones that the places fell into.

Terror influencer Zakir Naik’s Peace TV fined £300,000 by UK media regulator Ofcom for broadcasting hate speech

The media regulator of the United Kingdom – Ofcom has slapped a fine of £300,000 (around Rs 2.75 crore) against radical Islamic preacher and terrorist influencer Zakir Naik’s Peace TV and Peace TV Urdu for broadcasting hate speech and “highly offensive” content in the country.

The UK communications services regulator imposed a fine on the holding company of Peace TV, Lord Communications, a total of £100,000 while Club TV which owns Peace TV Urdu was slapped with a penalty of £200,000 for violating its broadcasting rules.

Peace TV Urdu is owned by Cub TV and Lord Productions Limited holds the licence of Peace TV. The two media group have the Universal Broadcasting Corporation Limited as their parent company which is owned by Zakir Naik, a 54-year-old radical Islamist preacher from Mumbai.

In a statement issued on May 5, Ofcom said, “Our investigations found that programmes broadcast on Peace TV Urdu and Peace TV contained hate speech and highly offensive content, which in one instance was likely to incite crime.”

The statement further added, “We concluded that the content represented serious failures of compliance with our broadcasting rules, which warranted fines. The former licence holders, Club TV and Lord Production, must now pay £200,000 and £100,000 respectively to HM Paymaster General.”

The cases against Peace TV and Peace TV Urdu

The case of Peace TV relates to one episode of ‘Strengthening your Family’ broadcast on the channel on 11 March 2018. This episode, which was titled Valley of the Homosexuals, focussed on the issue of homosexuality and Islam. In the program, the presenter Qasim Khan made a series of statements about homosexuality including: comparing homosexual people to animals, specifically a pig which the speaker referred to as an animal which was “nasty and corrupted”; asserting that homosexual people contract disease (by implication HIV and AIDS) “because they are homosexual”; and, describing the practice of homosexuality as insane, corrupt and a manifestation of satanic influence. Ofcom had found that the program contained uncontextualised hate speech, and amounted to abusive and derogatory treatment of homosexual people, in breach of UK broadcasting rules.

The case of Peace TV Urdu was for an episode of the series Kitaab-ut- Tawheed aired on 22 November 2017. This episode focused on the Islamic punishment of magicians, and those who practise magic, and appeared to advocate their execution, as per the Ofcom report on the episode. After the due process, the regulator had concluded that the program contained harmful and/or offensive material including material containing hatred, abusive and derogatory treatment of individuals, groups, religions or communities.

Broadcasts of both Peace TV and Peace TV Urdu were stopped after the regulator had suspended their licences. Subsequently both the channels had surrendered their licences last year.

Islamic terror influencer Zakir Naik

Radical Islamist Zakir Naik, a Mumbai-born 53-year-old who is the founder of the controversial ‘Peace TV’ has been living in Malaysia since 2017 after fleeing from India and the previous government there had granted permanent residency to him.

Zakir Naik has been the inspiration for many radicalized individuals in recent times. The terror-influencer Zakir Naik is wanted in both India and Bangladesh on financial and terror-related charges. He is currently in Malaysia, where he is accused by authorities there of trying to break the harmony and spreading against the local communities there.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had said in October last year that most of the 127-odd terrorists arrested by security agencies in India for suspected ISIS links were inspired by the speeches of the radical Islamic preacher currently living in Malaysia.

The controversial Islamic preacher, who reportedly inspired the mastermind of Sri Lanka Easter blasts last year that killed 290 people, had said he does not intend to come back to India as long as the BJP is in power. Naik fled the country in 2016 after Dhaka terror attack.

India’s request to Malaysia for Naik’s extradition

On Thursday, India has formally requested the Malaysian government to extradite fugitive Zakir Naik. Reportedly, the Indian government is taking the issue with Malaysia at the highest level.

SIO member Asif Tanha arrested by Delhi Police, was booked earlier for involvement in violence at the national capital

Asif Tanha, a member of the Students’ Islamic Organisation (SIO) and a student of the Jamia Milia Islamia University, has been arrested by the Delhi Police. He was an active participant in the violent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act and the NRC. As per reports, he was arrested over alleged involvement in December 15, 2019 violence in the national capital.

Last year, an FIR was also lodged against the student leader for his alleged violent involvement in the riots at the national capital in the month of December. Allegedly, he was called for questioning a day prior to his eventual arrest.

In the FIR, SHO Upender Singh had said, “All the protesters blocked Mathura Road and also turned violent. They started damaging public property and several DTC buses were set on fire. They were asked to calm down, but they started raising slogans and blocked the campus’s gates 4, 7 and 8.” “We tried asking them to clear the road, but they started damaging public property and started pelting stones. Several police personnel fired gas shells, which agitated them. They then started pelting stones from within the university campus,” said Singh.

The FIR against Asif Tanha and others filed in December

The SIO and the anti-CAA protests

The Students Islamic Organization (SIO) played a prominent role in the recent anti-CAA riots that were unleashed all across the country. Shiyas Perumathura, the husband of Jamia ‘Shero’ Ladeeda Sakhaloon who had given a call for Jihad and glorified the genocidal maniacs responsible for the Moplah Massacre of Hindus, is a secretary at the SIO. The SIO was founded by Jamaat-e-Islami in 1982 after the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) broke away from it in 1981. SIO Maharashtra chief Salman Ahmed was detained for making provocative comments during an anti-CAA gathering in Nanded in February, days before the anti-Hindu riots in Delhi.

Asif Tanha and the SIO

Asif Tanha’s links to the SIO becomes evident from his Facebook profile. According to his profile on Facebook, he is an ex-finance secretary of the SIO at JMI. He has made numerous posts where he has shared statements made by the Islamist organisation. He shared a post by SIO where the organisation condemned the ‘vilification’ campaign against the Tablighi Jamaat. It is pertinent to mention here that the Jamaat has emerged as the largest Coronavirus vector in the country and its members have harassed female healthcare staff sexually, spit on doctors, healthcare staff and policemen alike and made all efforts to avoid being quarantined.

Arrests made in anti-CAA Riots case

Safoora Zargar, a member of the Jamia Coordination Committee, was arrested in connection with her alleged involvement in the anti-CAA riots. Her arrest has led to a barrage of propaganda accusing the Delhi Police of ‘anti-Muslim’ bias. The Delhi Police had recently slammed far-left propagandists at The Wire for making such dubious allegations.

Earlier, Meeran Haider, also a member of the Jamia Coordination Committee, was arrested by Delhi Police. He was arrested on the 2nd of April in connection with rioting and criminal conspiracy pertaining to anti-Hindu riots in north-east Delhi that have claimed the lives of 53 people and left over 400 injured. Meeran Haider is also the president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal youth wing’s Delhi unit.

Asif Tanha is the latest to be arrested over the riots.

Chinese ambassador found dead at his official residence in Israel

On Sunday morning, Chinese ambassador to Israel Du Wei was found dead at his residence in the suburb of Herzliya in Tel Aviv. As per standard operating procedure, police have been deployed outside his house.

According to Channel 12 TV of Israel, the 57-year-old died in his sleep of natural causes. However, the cause of his death has not been officially announced. Moreover, no comment has been made so far about his death by the Chinese embassy in Israel or the Foreign Affairs Ministry. Wei is now survived by his wife and one son.

Shifted to Israel in February

Du Wei served as China’s ambassador to Ukraine before moving to Israel in February this year, amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. In an article in the Jerusalem post, he shared his experience of being self- quarantined immediately after arriving in the Jewish country. Following his appointment, Wei had hailed the relation between ‘startup nation’ and the ‘second-largest economy in the world (China).’

Mike Pompeo slammed China

The news of his death comes a week after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Jerusalem. Pompeo had slammed China for mishandling the Coronavirus outbreak and urged the Jewish country to stop signing deals with Chinese companies. The embassy had dubbed his comments as ‘absurd’ and denied covering up the pandemic. Last month, he had called on China to permanently shut its wildlife wet markets, citing links between those markets and zoonotic diseases. US had also reportedly pressurised Israel to review USD 1.5 billion desalination plant tender to a Hong Kong based company.

Dharmic Vidhi arranger company that had brought Hindu priests online now launches initiative to support the priests during the lockdown

The Wuhan Coronavirus pandemic has unleashed a grave economic crisis across the world. India has been no different. Widespread sections of the population have been affected by the crisis as is evident by the scenes of the suffering of migrants that have been observed ever since the enforcement of the lockdown. Subsequently, the central government and various state governments have jumped in to alleviate the misery of the affected people.

Amidst such a crisis, a section of the population that has been hit gravely but has not received the attention it deserved is the community of Hindu priests. Due to the lockdown, pujas that are officiated by priests at the homes of individuals, as well as community pujas have stopped completely and as a consequence, the priests, for whom such puja is often the only source of their livelihood, find themselves at a time of great hardships. It is under these circumstances that some concerned individuals have undertaken a venture to ensure that the well-being of priests is not compromised.

oPandit is a Mumbai based company that also runs its operation in Thane and Pune. The company arranges Dharmic Vidhis as requested by their clients at their homes. Once a person books a ritual to be performed at their place, the company takes care of all the arrangements needed for that specific ritual. They provide the entire Vidhi “sahitya” and “samagri” along with a hassle-free conduct of the Vidhi from expert Pandits. More than 500 Pandits, from all the four Vedas, Rgveda, Yajurveda, Saamveda and Atharvaveda, are part of the initiative.

Now, as such rituals at homes and public places come to a complete halt, oPandit has decided to raise finances for Pandits who are suffering due to the lockdown. Using a form available on razorpay, a person can make a payment of any sum between Rs. 501/- and Rs. 50,000. In turn, a priest would perform a vidhi (ritual) for the family. The company requests individuals to send their name, gotra and Kuldevi to a number provided by oPandit along with the transaction details. Consequently, the vidhi will be performed as per the information provided to secure the blessings of the Gods.

The personal contact numbers of the Pandits will not be shared with any user personally. The Daan would be handed over to the Pandit within seven working days. The individual will be informed once the daan has been transferred to the Pandit. oPandit itself does not charge any fees for felicitating the interaction between the Pandit and the devotee. The amount that is paid by the individual for the vidhi is transferred in its entirety to the Pandit.

OpIndia got in touch with Mrudula Barve, the director of oPandit, who told us that the organisation began its operations in 2015 and is on its fifth year of its operations. Under normal circumstances, oPandit helps families find a priest according to their own requirements. Following the demonetisation move by Narendra Modi, the organisation had moved towards conducting their all financial transactions online. Consequently, bank accounts of the Pandits registered with them were recorded. This mechanism is coming handy during the current crisis.

We were told that during this phase, the Pandits were booked on various auspicious dates but due to the lockdown, these rituals could not be performed and have been put on hold as of now. As the days went on, the Pandits also started suffering a crunch in their finances at which point a fundraising campaign was decided upon. Thus, the initiative was launched on the 8th of May. So far, the campaign has generated around Rs. 1.80 lakhs which is being distributed among Pandits associated with the organisation. Rs. 1 lakh has already been dispersed.

Mrudula Barve told us, “There are many Pandits who are saying ‘we do not need anything right now, so do not give us anything but to those who need it’. See, no one has asked any money from us. They are very Swabhimani, they will go hungry but they will not ask. But it does not always have to be said, I know they are facing problems, so should I wait till they ask me for help? Should I wait till they are forced to stoop down? We should act before that happens, right?”

Mrudula Barve told us that the organisation also supports Ved Pathshalas. Concerned individuals who wish to contribute to oPandit’s effort to support Pandits during the lockdown can do the same by going to this link.

oPandit is the brand of Jadzia Solutions Pvt. Ltd, a company promoted by Mrudula Barve and Shekhar Malik. Mrudula is a computer engineer from Mumbai University and has more than 8+ years of experience across IT Project management and Analytics. Shekhar is a B.Tech (ECE)+MBA from IIT Powai having 9+ years of experience across Project Finance, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking & Technology outsourcing.

Watch out : ‘Fact checkers’ are trying to claim the fake moral space that big media lost

Take this purely imaginary scenario.

A poor man cries helplessly on video saying that his son has been murdered by people from XYZ community. And that local police are shutting him up. The video creates a storm online.

Local police denies the man’s claim. A couple of days later, a “fact checker” calls up the father. Now the father says nothing happened, that his son died a natural death. And that he had made his allegations the other day because he was getting too many phone calls.

You know, as is quite common. Everyone knows that if somebody gets too many phone calls in a day, they get irritated and say that their son has been murdered by people from XYZ community.

Bang! So called “Fact checker” comes up with screaming headline that the allegations in the original video were fake. In an era where people scroll through headlines on their phone, your job is done.

Welcome to the new reality of the media landscape. All the goodness of old propaganda journalism, cleverly re-branded as “fact checking.”

Twenty years ago, journalism used to mean something in popular imagination. A lot of us were brought up on government run media alone. As such, we were brainwashed to believe that government media was politically neutral, sticking to facts. Yes, you may laugh now, but back then we didn’t know. That’s what brainwashing is.

At the time, journalism was respected. We expected journalists to be on the side of the ‘people,’ fighting against the powers that be. Popular culture of the time reflected this mindset. There were TV serials and movies around the theme of a heroic journalists exposing political corruption and social injustice. Serials like “Reporter” and “Waqt ki Raftar” which cast journalists as heroes. Some real life celebrity journalists became household names. Even household heroes.

I think the last of such TV shows / movies was made in the early 2000s. And by then, journalists were already being cast as double agents of sorts. The moral pedestal had been lost.

Today if someone tried to make a TV show about an honest reporter, they would get laughed at.

What happened? People got wise to the tricks of the journalist trade. Mind you, they had been up to these tricks for decades. But people caught on to them very late.

What sort of tricks? Let me give you another purely imaginary scenario. Suppose a  media channel needs a powerful image/video of human misery to use against a government they are lobbying against. They will find someone to act out the misery like a movie. With many takes and retakes, until they get the perfect shot.

We know these tricks now. Or how media highlights (or does not highlight) certain aspects of a crime, its perpetrators or its victims depending on the narrative they want. By now, we all know what it means when a report says “Delhi man” has committed a heinous act. Or suppose there is some small street crime in Varanasi. We know exactly which channel would write a headline like “so and so crime happened in Temple Town.” The subtle narrative pushing no longer works. We have figured out all of them.

There were many reasons why big media lost its power to play tricks. One was social media. Suddenly everyone had a voice. And careful media watchers began to flag propaganda and share it with huge audiences. Second, journalists themselves entered social media. They no longer lived on the other side of a screen. Anyone who reads the Twitter timeline of a journalist cannot possibly believe in journalistic ethics. Then, there were the big watershed moments, such as the time a top journalist was caught lobbying with big business and fixing portfolios in government.

From heroes, journalists first came to be seen as ordinary humans. And then, lower.

In a twist of fate, journalists themselves were slow to catch on to what was happening to their image. But ultimately they did figure it out.

Then, they began a fightback. Once upon a time, ordinary people would go on social media to tear down journalists. Now journalists went online, looking to tear down ‘people.’

The new name of the game was ‘fact checking.’ People are fools, they argued. People share unverified information, they said. And someone needs to be out there being a hero, debunking all the lies out there.

Like any good propaganda, there was a seed of truth here. Lies do circulate in public discourse, especially on the web. There is value in being sure of facts, just like we also need somebody to do real reporting. Which is why we needed journalists, remember? And just as with journalists, the real dough for fact checkers not in facts, but in propaganda.

Now they had a new bag of tricks. I already explained one in the purely imaginary example at the beginning of this article. Let me show you another. Suppose there is a communal riot in a state ruled by a friendly government. How do you go about suppressing it?

In the old days, journalists would simply have refused to report it. If nobody knows about it, it never happened. Not an option in today’s world, where anyone can record video on their phone.

So what do you do? You ‘fact check’ your way out of it. You wait as the pictures of the violence circulate. You wait till you come across a single fake pic. Perhaps you take the initiative and plant it yourself and wait for some troll to pick it up. Then, you pounce upon it and write an article with the screaming headline: Fact check: Fake video from X shared as violence in <secular> state.

Your job is done. People reading the headline will now think the entire news of the communal riot was fake! Just like that, you made real news disappear.

Here’s another. There’s a heinous crime somewhere and you’re embarrassed because the accused are linked to your favorite political party. What do you do?

Here’s what. You call up everyone in that neighborhood and ask them about the crime. You wait till you find one person who has a slightly different version of events. And bang! You are now clear to do the headline: Fact check! XYZ never happened.

The old journalism type tricks are back, now re-branded as “fact checking.” The principle is simple : there’s a narrative you don’t like. Find something that runs counter to it, no matter how small and scream “Fact Check.”

The term “fact check” carries moral authority today, just like “journalist” used to carry twenty years ago. In other words, ‘fact checkers’ are trying to walk into the fake moral space that ‘journalists’ used to occupy. We the people have to beware of this new scourge. We have to become wise to their tricks. Just like a decade ago, when we became wise to the tricks of the journalist trade. And in the interest of democracy, this must happen quickly.

Shahid Afridi’s anti-Modi comment: Cricketer Harbhajan Singh regrets donation appeal for Afridi’s foundation, says will pick up gun to protect India

Cricketer Harbhajan Singh today said that he regrets donation appeal for Shahid Afridi’s NGO amid coronavirus outbreak which he said he did on humanitarian grounds. In his conversation with India Today journalist Vikrant Gupta, Singh said that as PM Modi had said, coronavirus does not see boundaries and hence he had made a donation appeal for Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi’s NGO. However, following his distasteful comments on India as well as Prime Minister Modi where he referred to the PM as having a bigger ‘disease’ than coronavirus.

Afridi had gone to Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and claimed that the Indian government under PM Modi is carrying out atrocities against the Indians in Kashmir, part of which is illegally occupied by Pakistan. “Inshallah he’ll have to be answerable here as well as in other world,” he had said.

Following his distasteful comments, cricketers like Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh came under fire for having appealed for donation for Afridi’s NGO few weeks back. They were questioned whether they agree to his anti-India views speaking of division of Kashmir and insulting the Prime Minister of India.

Harbhajan Singh further said that he appealed for the NGO on humanitarian grounds. But Afridi’s message is not appropriate at all. “He should speak for his country, why interfere in our matters? Why drag India into it? Why drag our Prime Minister into it? I have nothing to do with Shahid Afridi or his NGO or anyone who speaks against our country. He should first look at his own country. Our country is great,” he said.

“If anyone speaks against my country or countrymen or my prime minister it is not acceptable, whoever it is,” Singh said. He even apologised to everyone who has been hurt by his action and promised that he will never speak for anyone who spreads hate against India. He said that he has realised his friendship was limited to cricket field but it is no longer there.

Cricketer-turned-MP Gautam Gambhir slams ‘joker’ Shahid Afridi for his anti-India rant, calls him ‘16-year-old man’ after he refers to PM Modi as a ‘disease’

Former Indian cricketer and Member of Parliament Gautam Gambhir, on Sunday, whipped Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi for his usual antics of spewing anti-India venom and accused Pakistan PM Imran Khan and Pakistan Army Chief Bajwa of peddling fake narratives about India and PM Modi.

Calling Shahid Afridi a “16-year-old man”, cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir slammed the controversial cricketer for his anti-India propaganda. He called the Pakistani trio as ‘jokers’.

Gautam Gambhir’s tweet

Gautam Gambhir went on to remind Afridi of what happened in East Pakistan, present Bangladesh, in 1971, saying that Pakistan would not get Kashmir till judgment day.

Anti-India rant by Shahid Afridi

At a time when the entire world is united to fight against the Chinese pandemic, Pakistan seems to be busy pushing anti-India propaganda with much more intensity. Continuing the same, former Pakistan Cricket team captain Shahid Afridi, a puppet of the rogue Pakistan Army, had recently visited Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the name of providing relief material and indulged in usual verbal diarrhoea against India and Prime Minister Modi.

Spewing venom against India, Shahid Afridi had accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of oppressing the people of Kashmir on the grounds of religion and alleged that the Indian Army had stationed troops the size of Pakistan Army near the border in Jammu and Kashmir.

During his visit to PoK, Afridi resorted to his old tricks again this week to indulge in demagoguery, as he said, “I am in your beautiful village, I am very delighted. I was planning to visit you all for a long time. The world is currently infected by such a big disease. But the bigger disease is in Modi’s mind.”

“Modi deployed 7 lakh soldiers in Kashmir, same as the total strength of Pakistani forces,” Shahid Afridi added while reportedly claiming that Kashmiris from India were also supporting the Pakistani Army.

Shahid Afridi vs Gautam Gambhir

The anti-India antics of the failed cricketer is not a new one. He has done this multiple times in the past and is known for repeating these fake narratives from repeatedly on the behest of Tier-3 Pakistan Army.

Shahid Afridi has made several disgraceful comments in the past against Hindus and India. He once said in an interview that he had smashed a TV set after he saw his child enacting a scene from a serial. In a derogatory manner, he said “pata nahi kya karte hai thaali leke yu yu” while gesticulating his hands in a circular motion. He then says that when he saw his children doing that while watching the serial (aarti) he lost his temper and smashed the television set on the wall.

In the backdrop of the Indian government’s decision to abrogate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, Afridi had tweeted in support of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s appeal to show solidarity with Kashmiri. Afridi has also called for United Nation’s (UN) intervention to resolve the Kashmir issue and had called India “oppressive” on its policy in Kashmir.

Islamists target BJP youth leader on social media, share morphed obscene images of her despite complaint filed with Delhi police 2 months ago

In a blatant act of online harassment against a BJP youth leader, several handles associated with Islamists and opposition parties posted obscene morphed images on social media targeting party’s female youth leader Apurva Singh.
