Mani Shankar Aiyar strikes again: You can say mandir banayenge, how can you say Mandir wahi banayenge, he asks

After maintaining silence for a long time, Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar is back with his controversial statements. He has now questioned the birth of Lord Ram at Ayodhya, reported ANI.

Speaking at an event ‘Ek Shaam Babri Masjid Ke Naam’ organised by the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) in New Delhi, Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar shockingly went on to question the birth of Lord Ram at Ayodhya by saying that how can someone be so sure that Lord Ram was born at that historic site.

He made these remarks while speaking regarding the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, and said those who want a mandir can make one but “how can they say mandir wahin banayenge?”

“What do you mean mandir wahin banayenge? King Dasharatha was a big king and it is believed he had as many as 10,000 rooms in his palace. Who knows which room was where? And hence they say that because we think that our Lord Ram was born here, and hence the temple should be built there, and because there is a masjid there, we will first demolish it and then build a temple at that place?” Aiyar said. He added it is not to have faith in Allah.

Aiyar went on to target his own party for the demolition of the Babri-Masjid, saying that the Congress government could have stopped it. He further termed the historic day of Babri demolition as the “murder of the Constitution”.

“I’m from the Congress and we did a mistake. (The then Prime Minister) Narasimha Rao didn’t take the right steps at the right time and a mistake happened,” said Mani Shankar Aiyar.

Aiyar further indulged in fear mongering by claiming that the demolition of Babri Masjid demolition was similar to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination and questioned the safety of Muslims in the country.

Interestingly, Aiyar also assured the Muslim community that the Congress party is willing to work on other alternatives to tackle the situation if the community is not satisfied with the judgement of the Supreme Court.

“If you are unsatisfied by the court’s decision (On Babri Masjid), then we will talk on that. We will see what could be the solution. But I have complete faith in our judiciary. I believe we will not forget the meaning of justice. If we don’t agree, then there are many other ways to face that situation,” Aiyar said.

Mani Shankar Aiyar, known for his abusive statements against Prime Minister Modi was suspended from the Congress party after he had referred PM Modi as “neech aadmi” during Gujarat elections in December 2017, but he was later taken back to the party in August 2018.

This was not the first time Aiyar had made such casteist and elitist remarks. Mani Shankar Aiyar is widely believed to have helped Modi in his 2014 campaign when he used the term “chaiwala” (tea seller) as an insult for the then BJP Prime Ministerial candidate.

Gujarat: Former BJP MLA shot dead inside moving train

Former BJP MLA Jayantilal Bhanushali has been shot dead inside a train late last night. As per reports, Bhanushali was travelling in the Sayaji Nagri Express when unknown assailants boarded the train and fired upon him.

According to reports, Jyantilal Bhanushali was travelling from Bhuj to Ahmedabad in an AC coach. The crime is believed to have been committed somewhere before Maliya Miyana near Morbi junction. Unknown assailants reportedly boarded the train and fired upon Bhanushali. He died on the spot. Reports say that two bullets had been fired upon him, one on the chest and one near the eye.

Police reportedly received a message about the murder around 1.30 in the night that one passenger in the First AC coach of 19116 Sayaji Nagri Express has been shot between the Kataria and Surbari stations.

Bhanushali was a former BJP MLA from Abadasa constituency. He was also the vice president of the BJP unit in Kutch. About six months back, a 21-year-old woman had filed a case against him alleging rape. Following the allegations, Bhanushali was ousted from the BJP. However, the case was later settled when the woman stated in the High Court that she does not want to pursue the case any longer.

Owaisi wants Muslims to have right to divorce if spouse gets leprosy, opposes government bill in Lok Sabha

The Lok Sabha yesterday cleared the bill to remove leprosy as a ground for divorce as it is now a curable disease. Minister of State for Law P P Chaudhary while replying to the discussion on The Personal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2018 said that leprosy as a ground for divorce is a discriminatory provision. He added that the Human Rights Commission and judgements of various courts had also underlined the need to amend the laws to remove this discrimination.

The Bill, which was passed amid protests by Congress and Samajwadi Party over Rafale, faced opposition from AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi. Owaisi asked the government to not ‘interfere in Muslim Personal Law’. He added that leprosy is not totally eradicated and other Muslim countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh still allow leprosy as a valid ground for divorce.

Owaisi said that unlike other marriage laws, Islam recognises marriage as a contract between two people and as per contract laws in India, if any party wilfully hides any information, like a disease such as leprosy, it becomes a valid ground for divorce. He further linked it to the Triple Talaq Bill that was passed in the Lok Sabha recently and asked the government to ‘not interfere’ in Muslim Personal Laws.

As per World Health Organisation (WHO), leprosy is a chronic infectious disease which affects the skin, the peripheral nerves, mucosal surfaces of the upper respiratory tract and the eyes. Leprosy is curable and early treatment can avert most disabilities.

Norway denies media reports that its PM has offered to mediate between India and Pakistan

0

The Norwegian ambassador to India Nils Ragnar Kamsvåg has issued a clarification saying that the reports of Norwegian prime minister Erna Solberg offering to mediate between India and Pakistan are wrong. He said that no country has asked Norway for mediation, and Norway also has made no such offer.

Quoting an interview of Erna Solberg with NDTV journalist Nidhi Razdan, some media houses had reported the PM of Norway has offered to mediate between India and Pakistan to resolve the conflict between the two neighbouring countries.

But actually, the prime minister didn’t make any such offer. Although she mentioned about mediation as one of the ways to resolve such conflicts, she said that both the countries are large countries and they should sort out the issues themselves. She said that if Norway is required to have a role in resolving the differences between India and Pakistan, it has to be driven by the two countries. Erna Solberg also said that both countries are big enough to be able to reduce tension between them, without any help from outside.

Answering whether Norway sees any role for mediation between Indian and Pakistan, the PM said, “If there is an interest from the partners, we will try to use the mechanisms that we know. We have been working quite a lot in different countries but we always have this one basic thinking. The partners need to want to sit down by the table and discuss. Then of course if there is a need for a mediator, a need for a facilitator to fix, even though these are two very big countries that should manage to sort out things between themselves.” It clearly shows that although Erna Solberg mentioned about mediating in general, she did not make any such offer on behalf of Norway. She also directly didn’t say that Norway is willing to mediate if India and Pakistan want. She said that any request for mediation must come from the parties involved, but India and Pakistan are too big to need mediation.

When asked about a military solution to the conflict, the PM said that she does not think there is a military solution to any problem.

The Norwegian prime minister arrived in India today on a three-day visit. She is scheduled to meet prime Narendra Modi on 8th January, where they will hold discussions on a host of bilateral issues. She will address the India-Norway Business Summit, and will deliver the inaugural address at the Raisina Dialogue.

Rahul Gandhi and his band of clowns attack Nirmala Sitharaman personally after failing in the Rafale battle

Rahul Gandhi with his fancy Burberry jacket is an elitist, privileged Delhi boy at heart. Rattled by Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s arguments over Rafale deal which prove that Rahul Gandhi is just trying to mislead the nation by lying about it, the Gandhi scion has resorted to personal attacks on Sitharaman.

On 4th January, while laying down facts in the Lok Sabha on Rafale deal, Sitharaman had said that she comes from a middle-class family and not a ‘khandan’ and asked the Opposition who gave them the right to call the PM ‘Chor’, just because they come from a ‘khandan’.

Rahul Gandhi, holding the ground and accusing the prime minister of being directly involved in the ‘Rafale scam’, today said that Sitharaman lied in the parliament regarding contracts rewarded to HAL as well as about her family background.

As if that was not enough, Congress’ social media cell head Divya Spandana took to Twitter to troll Sitharaman by putting out a ‘quiz’ asking her followers to guess who she was talking about. Of course, the foul-mouthed troll was the first to respond.

Congress leaders making personal attacks on someone just because they run out of arguments is not something new. We have earlier reported how various Congress leaders have made derogatory remarks on Prime Minister Modi, from Mani Shankar Aiyar, Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor to taking a dig at PM Modi’s humble beginnings as a tea seller, to calling him Hitler, Congress leaders have said it all.

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad too has made a casteist statement on PM Modi by referring to him as ‘Gangu Teli’ (Modi belongs to the Teli caste). Congress leader Jairam Ramesh referred to PM Modi as ‘Bhasmasur’ during the run-up to 2014 elections, a mythological demon.

And it was not just PM Modi for whom these personal attacks were limited to. Congress leader Digvijay Singh had caught the spotlight a few years back when while praising a fellow party secretary, Meenakshi Natrajan at a rally in Madhya Pradesh he referred to her as ‘a 100 percent tunch maal’. (Translated from Bhojpuri, the remark roughly means ‘100 percent sexy woman’.)

Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam had also raised strife by bad-mouthing BJP MP Smriti Irani in December 2012, when assembly election results of Gujarat was announced saying, “It’s only four days of your entry into politics and you have become a political analyst. Aap toh TV pe thumke lagati thi, Aaj chunavi vishleshak ban gayi.” (You used to dance on TV screen, now you are a political analyst?) Foul-mouthed Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam on other instances has also attacked the PM calling him ‘Mahishasur‘ (a demon) and ‘anpadh-ganwar‘ (illiterate and uncouth).

So the attack on Sitharaman and her family doesn’t come as a surprise. In fact, the only surprising thing about the attack is that Rahul Gandhi and Congress took so long to get personal with her. Usually, they do so at the first sign of losing an argument.

A month after Congress govt comes to power, Tribal child drinks insecticide after being denied food at ration shop

0

In a horrific incident, a tribal child in Madhya Pradesh consumed insecticide out of hunger. The incident happened in Ratlam district in the state, according to reports, and the child is in critical condition.

The incident happened on 31st December, when a 7 year boy consumed insecticide, as he was frustrated due to denied wheat by a ration shop. According to the family of the child, he was going to the Amba Para society to get wheat for last 15 days carrying the ration card of the family, but the ration shop was refusing to him wheat, saying they have no stock. Disturbed with this continuous refusal, the child consumed insecticide. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, and his situation is stable at present.

DC of Ratlam district Ruchika Chauhan has ordered an enquiry into the incident, and has formed a team including the tehsildar and food inspector to investigate the matter. On the other hand, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has also taken the matter seriously and it has set up an inquiry into the same.

After the Congress formed government in three states after the recent elections, they had announced waiver of farm loans. But that has not ended the distress of farmers, with several incidents of farmers committing suicide due to the burden of loan emerging in the last couple of weeks from these states. Now, this incident indicates that the widespread corruption that was prevalent earlier in the public distribution system may have made a come back along with Congress government.

Akhilesh Yadav under CBI lens for violating HC order and granting 14 leases as Mining Minister without e-tender: Reports

The CBI had earlier announced in an FIR filed on the second of January that it will examine the role of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, and his former Cabinet colleague Gayatri Prajapati in a case of illegal mining.

Now, CBI sources are reported to have elaborated on the allegations against the Samajwadi party supremo. CBI sources have reportedly said that during Akhilesh Yadav’s tenure as mining minister, 14 leases were granted in Hamirpur without e-tenders in violation of an Allahabad High Court order.

On Saturday, the CBI searched 14 locations including the premises of former IAS officers in UP and Delhi. The public servants are accused of allowing illegal mining between 2012-2016 and illegally renewing licence despite National Green Tribunal ban. The officers are accused of allowing theft of minerals, money extortion from leaseholders and drivers. Yadav, along with being the state’s chief minister, also held the mining portfolio during 2012-13. He was succeeded by Gayatri Prajapati. Gayatri Prajapati was arrested in 2017 after a Chitrakoot woman accused him of rape.

Akhilesh had earlier alleged that it was a case of political vendetta and warned the BJP that similar actions may be taken against them in the future. “Samajwadi Party is making efforts to win maximum Lok Sabha seats. Those who want to stop us, have the CBI with them. Once the Congress did CBI probe, and I was questioned. If the BJP is doing all this, the CBI will question me, I will answer (them). But, the people are ready to give an answer to the BJP,” Akhilesh was reported to have said.

“Why is the CBI conducting raids. Whatever they want to ask, they can ask me. However, the BJP should remember that the culture it is leaving behind, it may have to face it in the future,” he added.

BSP supremo Mayawati claimed that the BJP was using the CBI to target Akhilesh Yadav due to the SP-BSP alliance in Uttar Pradesh. She stated, “The CBI raids and later the threat of quizzing by the CBI in a mining scam is nothing but political animosity of the BJP. Such petty politics and political conspiracy are not new for the BJP. The people of the country have understood it and they will teach the BJP a lesson in the Lok Sabha polls.”

“The day news of the SP-BSP top leadership meeting came out, the BJP government used the CBI and raids were conducted in an old mining scam and the news of quizzing Akhilesh Yadav was deliberately spread. Is it not an action to defame the SP-BSP alliance?” she added.

Many leaders of the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ are battling corruption cases in the Courts. Blaming it all on political vendetta has been their preferred mode of defence thus far. The mother-son duo of the Congress party, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, are out on bail in the National Herald case. Lalu Prasad Yadav has been convicted in the Fodder Scam.

Finance Minister during the UPA regime, P Chidambaram, has also been knocking at the door of Courts to grant him protection from arrest. He was today interrogated by the ED in connection with the INX money laundering case. His son, Karti Chidambaram, was arrested by agencies last year in February for allegedly lobbying for the Mukerjees, in order to get FIPB clearance from Finance Ministry, which at the time was under his father. The ED had also attached properties and bank deposits of Karti Chidambaram worth around Rs.54 crores in connection with the case, in October last year.

it appears that the alleged crimes committed by the politicians opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi is finally coming home to roost.

‘Journalists’ of the Congress ecosystem raise a stink about Modi govt’s 10% reservation for the poor

In a historic move just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Narendra Modi-led NDA government has decided to give ten per cent reservation in jobs and higher education for those belonging to the poor.

The reservation which was approved by the Union cabinet today will not disturb the existing 50 per cent reservation. Reportedly, the Union government will amend Articles 15 and 16, which has provisions against discrimination and equal opportunity to implement the new reform.

The new ‘surgical strike’ conducted by the Narendra Modi government to provide reservations for existing unreserved people has been receiving a resounding welcome. The historic decision by the Narendra Modi government seems to have hurt some members of the Congress supported Lutyens ecosystem, as they have already begun propagating false narrative pertaining to the new reform.

The Lutyens cabal that often expresses fake empathy towards the poor and downtrodden when it chooses their convenience has now been citing caste dynamics and poll arithmetic as the reason behind this historic decision. ‘Journalists’ of the Congress ecosystem who often indulge in fake narrative propagation are now perplexed after Prime Minister Modi surprised them with a positive narrative.

Barkha Dutt, one of the oldest serving member of the Lutyens cabal rushed to pass her judgements regarding the new reservation policy. She first called it an ‘upper caste’ reservation and called it unconstitutional despite the fact that the new policy is yet to face judicial scrutiny.

Radia Tape famed self-proclaimed journalist and one of the founding editors of The Wire, MK Venu looked worried as the new move by the BJP may benefit the party electorally in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Sidharth Varadarajan, the ultra-left scribe, who is not even an Indian citizen called the reform which benefits crores of poor, underprivileged as a ‘bogus proposal’ and accused the government of being desperate.

Sagarika Ghose, a journalist sympathetic to Congress expressed her anguish after PM Modi promised to empower upper class through new reservation policy. She questioned the rationale of providing quotas to the needy unreserved population.

Swati Chaturvedi, a troll masquerading as a journalist claimed that it was another ‘jumla’ and implementation of such reform is difficult.

Rohini Singh, known for her fondness to Samajwadi Party and also associated with fake news website The Wire said that the government lacked any intent to provide reservation to economically weaker sections.

The move for 10% reservations is likely to woo back people from the Upper Castes who had deserted the party. Their support will be absolutely essential to secure a victory in the elections this year.

10% reservation for financially backward and more: 2019 sees an aggressive BJP setting the narrative

The Narendra Modi government has rung in the new year with an aggressive intent to decimate the opposition’s long-drawn shenanigans of portraying the government in the bad light. It has shown the will to systematically demolish all the concocted allegations of corruption levelled on it by the opposition. Continuing its attack, it has now thrown a monkey wrench for the opposition by expressing its intent to bring in the reservation of about 10% for the economically backward classes.

Learning from the setback it received in the recent defeats in the Assembly elections 2018, the Modi government has visibly recalibrated its election campaign policies. From being on the defensive against the opposition’s accusations, PM Modi and his ministers have decided to take the saddle and charter his own path for the big battle in 2019. The recent announcement of offering reservations to economically backward classes is hailed as one such political masterstroke to meet that end.

The BJP has finally found its foot for the upcoming electoral battle. Post-election defeats in December 2018, the saffron party realised that it can no longer yield the narrative on a platter to the opposition by pussyfooting on the outlandish assertations made by Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party. The mealy-mouth approach embraced by the BJP regarding Rafale Deal, farm loan waivers not only rendered it helpless against the increasingly defiant Congress but also emboldened the cadres of the Indian National Congress.

The attacks intensified and the BJP ministers were caught in the crosshairs of Congress politicians who wasted no opportunity to cash in on the BJP’s non-committal approach. However, the defeats in the elections struck a sobering realisation to the BJP-high command. The subsequent election speeches given by Modi dwelled more on what his government has done for empowering the farmers and how Congress has been fooling the farmers from years with their election lollipop trickeries like granting farm loan waivers.

BJP top brass spoke in unison about Congress’ past betrayal with farmers. The messaging had coherency. Even on the Rafale deal, the hobby-horse for Rahul Gandhi and the Congress to portray the government in neck-deep corruption was dealt with finesse by the senior BJP leaders. They piggybacked their claims about the Rafale deal by citing the Supreme Court’s validation of having no procedural or pricing violations in procuring the Rafale jets.

Arun Jaitley, the Finance Minister of the country eloquently demolished in the parliament all the misgivings the Congress party had raised about the Rafale Deal. It appeared that Congress and its president Rahul Gandhi were taken off-guard by Jaitley’s ruthless onslaught. If this was not enough, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman pummeled the already battered Congress to bits by her gamely defence of the jets deal and slamming Congress for jeopardising the country’s security by inordinately delaying the fighter aircraft deal.

Now, mounting the counter-attack on Congress, the BJP started attacking Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi for the National Herald case in which there occurred alleged involvement of transfer of the government property worth crores for just 50 lakhs to a trust owned by the Gandhis. Modi’s speeches and BJP’s pressers also started seeking identities of “Mrs Gandhi” and the “Italian lady’s son R” mentioned by the AgustaWestland middleman Christian Michel in his deposition to the CBI and the ED.

The Congress was already battling from the body blow it received from the SC’s Rafale verdict. Amidst this, a ruthless and aggressive BJP severely hamstrung the Congress and its ecosystem by engaging in an all-frontal attack. With the Congress already having peaked at their narrative, in the crucial months leading up to the 2019 elections, they don’t have too many issues to bank upon.

This Modi-Shah’s turf. They are known to set the narrative and dominate it. The concerted attempts have laid the foundation for the BJP. While the opposition continues to flounder, the BJP  which is in a pole position may well have struck the last straw on the camel’s back by offering 10% reservations to the economically backward upper class. It has already started causing excessive hand-wringing among the usual suspects.
